Modules & VBA :: SMTP Maximum Per Send?

Jun 8, 2013

I'm using VBA and XML to send emails from my db to a legitimate mail server (Mandrill).

The mail server will accept any number of receipients in one go.

I'm using an SQL string to build up my recipients into one large string (phil@test.com; fred@test.com etc). This works well as it builds them list at about 50 per second.

The issue I have is that I get an error saying 'Too many recipents'.

How many will SMTP let me send in one go?

Modules & VBA :: Send Email From Access 2013 Through External SMTP Server?

Jun 5, 2015

I have Access 2013, Win 7, Outlook 2010 (32-bit).I want to send an email from Access, but not through Outlook. Instead I want to connect to an external SMTP server. I've found a few examples that doesn't work for me. With code including for example

Code:
Set ObjMessage = CreateObject("CDO.Message")

I get an "Error 429: Object can't be created in Active X-component" (My translation from Swedish).With code including this:

Code:
Dim oEMail As New CDONTS.EMail

I get "user defined type has not been defined" (my translation again).I have working code for sending email through Outlook, which works fine. But, Outlook adds a lot of span tags, making it impossible to read for certain screen readers used by visually impaired people, therefore I can't use Outlook.

I've tried to read up on the matter (CDO), and think that maybe the CDO library etc is not included on my computer?can I download it?

Modules & VBA :: Specifying Email Address When Sending Email Via SMTP

I am currently using vb code to send an email in Access on the click of a button. I want the database user to be able to enter the recipient in a text box [ToEmail] which is on form [GroupStockProfiler]. However, I'm unsure how to put this into my code. I currently have the following which doesn't work (unless I put a specific email after 'To'):

Const cdoSendUsingPort = 2

Modules & VBA :: Adding Maximum Amount Of Login Attempts

Feb 26, 2015

I have built a login form that works fine currently with the exception of login attempts. The current features are

1) Checks login is in users table.
2) Ensures the user status is not blocked in the table.
3) Sends the user to the correct page based on their authorisation in the user table.

What i need to do now is

1) Allow the user to enter the incorrect password 3 times and on the 4th time it will say "Too many login attempts. Your user access has been blocked."
2) Update their status as blocked in the users table.

My Current code is below.

Private Sub LoginButton_Click()
Dim Useraccess As String
Dim Userstatus As String
If IsNull(Me.LoginUsernameText) Then
MsgBox "Please Enter Username", vbInformation, "Username Required"
Me.LoginUsernameText.SetFocus

[Code] ....

I have tried 6 different codes to try and add this and i cant get any of them to work.

Modules & VBA :: How To Send Different Attachments To Different Recipients

I currently have a code set up which sends an attachment from a drive on my computer to all the email addresses in a certain query. I would like to change the code so that I can add a button that will allow me to send an email with a specific attachment depending on their individual code in a table, e.g each person will receive a specific attachment. At the moment, the attachments are saved with the same file name as the person's specific code.The code I am currently using is:

Private Sub Command9_Click()

Dim rsEmail As DAO.Recordset
Dim qdf As DAO.QueryDef
Dim prm As DAO.Parameter
Dim strEmail As String
Dim strMsg As String

Modules & VBA :: Send Text As Hyperlink

Jul 26, 2014

Since my old DB had hyperlink (web pages) either starting with http:// or not, and the users were complaining that they couldn't easily edit the field, I converted all the fields to text. Then I tried the following code on doubleclick:

Dim WebLink As String
If Me.WebPage2 <> "http//" & "*" Then
WebLink = "Http://" & Me.WebPage2
Else
WebLink = Me.WebPage2
End If
Debug.Print WebLink
Application.FollowHyperlink WebLink, , True

The above works fine if there is no http:// but if there is one already in the text, then I get run time error 5 that it cannot locate the page. On checking what is happening, the code is adding http:// again even if it already there.

Const conStrPrefix As String = "http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/"
Const conCdoSendUsingPort As Integer = 2

Modules & VBA :: Send Report With Variable Name

Jan 8, 2015

I use a macro that attaches a document automatically to an e-mail address ready to send this report is governed by a query of which the criteria is " loss order number " this is in a pdf format of which I need if possible

The problem I have is the same pdf file keeps attaching itself to the e-mail no matter which loss order number I select. The reason I think is because the report is called NCR so it is not changing from the previous one. What I think can solve it but not sure and don't know how to do is get the " loss order number " within the report name.

If I just send the report to a file direct it does work as I am prompted for a file name

Can the loss order number get into the file name within a macro/vba

Code:
Name="EMailDatabaseObject
Name="ObjectType">Report
Name="ObjectName">SEND NCR
Name="OutputFormat">PDF Format (*.pdf
Name="To">=[E-mail Address] & IIf(Nz([E-mail Address

Modules & VBA :: Send Data From One Database To Another

Mar 28, 2014

I have two databases, both have mysql backened and access frontend.

In first database, I'd like to access the second database, check if that person has an entry in the second database and then fetch that data into the first database. To make it easier, data come from different tables (though I'd probably access only one entry in each table)

Not sure where to start, the only idea I have is to link tables from both databases into the frontend ad then it's kinda easy (would have to rename the tables).

Modules & VBA :: Cannot Set Outlook Send Using Account

Jul 13, 2013

A client wants to e-mail newsletters using a non-default Outlook account. The code below does everything the client needs except setting the SendUsingAccount. In debug I can see that the correct account is assigned, yet all of my testing results in e-mails where the From line is the default account. The test setup uses my own isolated SMTP server, so when I look at the e-mails sent the sender is the default account. The default account's Sent folder shows the sent mail, which is not what we want.

I have no problems with using VBA to create emails or to add attachments. My issue is with adding hyperlinks to the body of the email.

Modules & VBA :: Send Email Via Certain Account?

Jul 2, 2015

I have a several templates in outlook 2003 for my charity work.

All is OK if I send the odd one now and again, but the workload is increasing with more and more at any one time. However having seen various posts on here, I was thinking I could set something similar in Access as well as keeping track of the payments & deposits more easily.

I am fine with to, cc,bcc, body, subject etc, but what I need to do is SendUsingAccount, but 2003 does not have this property, it started with 2007.

As well as sending on that particular account I also need the signature linked to that account.

I could add that signature by code if I can get the correct account and for some reason the signature is not added.

I tried using SendOnBehalfOfName which works as far as the correct email address is used, but still uses my default a/c.

As an aside, my Outlook session would always be open, so I will use GetObject and not CreateObject method, but would like not to have the warning dialogue in Outlook pop up all the time.

Modules & VBA :: Send Multiple Attachments Automatically

May 27, 2014

I am working on a database that will notify technicians if they have orders that have been placed on back order. The technician can enter two kinds of orders, one for a specific job and one to replenish the stock in his truck. My manager has asked that I create separate reports for each kind of order and e-mail them to the technician. Is there a way to program Access to send an e-mail with two separate attachments?

I would also like the e-mail to send without the user needing to click the Send button. Is that possible? The database will be sending twenty plus e-mails each time the button is pressed, and I would like to avoid needing the user to click the Send button that many times.

Modules & VBA :: Trying To Convert Send Key Command To Something Newer

Jul 12, 2015

We have a ton of Access 97 DBs I've been asked to "fix". Since moving to Windows 7 some of them have been giving Error70 comands, which I've narrowed down to Sendkey not playing nicely with Windows 7. Anyway, I was able to fix it for one user by turning UAC off. Not my preferred way to operate, but it's a stopgap until I can get this mess sorted out.

Ok, here's the code. This is an event procedure that is tied to a date field where staff are to enter a date in MM/DD/YYYY format. For some reason there is no tab order anywhere on this DB so they have to click to enter. In the past they had to make sure that they clicked at the left most M in MM to make the entry.

It appears that this Sendkey is the culprit here. Is there anyway I can safely remove that w/o breaking something? I cannot get sole access to this DB as it's in use pretty much 24/7 until the 11pm backup for the server it resides on. It is Access 97. I was thinking of just pulling the macro from that field but then again I am not an Access person by any means,

Option Compare Database
Option Explicit

Private Sub cboxptno_GotFocus()
cboxptno.Dropdown
End Sub
----
Private Sub Command111_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_Command111_Click

Modules & VBA :: How To Send A Report Via Outlook 2010

Oct 30, 2014

I have a VBA module in my Access 2010 database that will send a report as a PDF via email to a predetermined email address. the only problem using the docmd.sendobject method is i keep getting a pop up that says "A program is trying to send an e-mail on your behalf. If this is unexpected, click Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date."

I have a windows task set up at the same time each day to open this database which runs an autoexec that creates this report and using my VBA module sends the email. i want it to just send the email without any imput from me. I want automation.

Here is my code that i am using to create and send the email

"Private Sub Report_Activate()
filename = "Name of file" & Format(Me.Date_time_returned "MMDDYY") & ".pdf"
DoCmd.SetWarnings False
DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "Name of file", acFormatPDF, "the destination email address goes here",,, "Request completed and sent " & Format(Me.Date_time_returned, "MMDDYY"), "Subject of email goes here", False

Modules & VBA :: Automatically Loop And Send Email

Oct 18, 2013

I am setting up a database to track preventative maintenance required for testing equipment in our repair shop. Some of my associates would like to be able to send e-mail notifications via the database when maintenance is due. I set up a query to show the people who need to receive an e-mail and a query to show the maintenance each person needs to perform.

Each person will need to perform more than one maintenance step each time. I would like to get it so that the database will loop through the first query and generate one e-mail for each person. I would like the e-mail to list all the steps that person would need to do (as shown in the second query). I know this would require setting up loops and I'm afraid I'm not very good at writing loops.

I think this will need two loops. One to loop through the first query to see all the e-mails that will need generated and one to loop through the actions to be included in each e-mail. The person's name is included in both queries and can be used to set up a link between the two.
