Modules & VBA :: Stop Macro Error If There Is No Data To Find?

Here is my issue: If there is no data to find, I get a "Stop Macro" error.
How to change this?

Mar 27, 2006I have a form that sets criteria in a series of make-table queries that go on to power a report. I've set up a macro to first open the form and then run the make-table queries and then open the final report. My trouble is that before I can set the criteria in the form I'm getting prompted by the make-table queries.
How can I stop the macro so I can input data and then re-start it? I tried using a stop macro command but that didn't work out for me.

Can't Find Macro '.' Access 2k Form Error
Feb 21, 2006Greetings - some help required please:
I have an intermittent error occurring on an Access 2k form giving the error
message "cant find the macro '.'" although there are no macros on the form.
After much trawling around I believe this may be due to a space being
mis-keyed into one of the event properties of one of the form’s controls but
I have looked at each to no avail.
My question is therefore two fold:
1. If this is due to a space being keyed how do I, in code, step through
each control and it's events looking for it?, or,
2. If it's not a space what else could it be.
The form opens and works Ok most of the time, the db compacts and repairs and compiles to an MDE and the error appears to not be linked to any one control or event but seems to be triggered more often than not if move from the tab order through use of the mouse.
Ideally I don’t want to redo the form or copy the database objects into a new db as there are too many.
Any help gratefully received.
NB This query was originally posted to the vba section without much success apart from a rebuild suggestion gratefully received from WayneRyan. I thought this was a vba error but may be a macro issue, a form error or could be a general problem so apologies if this is not the correct forum, if incorrectly placed Moderators please feel free to move it

It looks like this:

When I click the button an email message window pops up, and if I do SEND it, everything ends well.
The problem:
If choose NOT to send it, and I close the email message window, an error pops up causing my database to close (I use access runtime).
Do you think I can add anything to my vba so this error doesnt occur?
Message To Appear But Not Stop Macro
Jul 6, 2007Hi all. Can't seem to find a similar thread although I'm sure there must be one.
I have a macro that runs update queries when exiting the database. What I'd like to do is display a message whilst the updates are running. However, I only seem to halt the macro until the user clicks the ok button on the message box.
Any ideas?

Repeating Macro Needs To Stop After Last Record
Nov 1, 2006I am basically setting up a macro that will change the value for a field from "N" to "Y" for all records from a query. The macro works fine except for it does not know when to stop and gives an error message of "You can't assign a value to this object" after it has gone through all of the records and there are none left to change. The macro is set up like this:
OpenForm Action : This form is populated by the query and I set the Where condition to open records that don't already have a value of "Y".
SetValue Action : I use this to set the value of the field to "Y"
Close Action : I use this to close the form and save the changes
RunMacro Action : This is where the problem is. I use this to repeat the macro so it can go through the rest of the records that still have the field set to "N". I need to set the Condition or Repeat Expression so that it checks if all of the records have been changed. It either needs to check that all records have the field = "Y" or check that the macro is on the last record. Basically something that will cause the macro to not open itself again when there are no more records to be changed.
Stop Macro On Last Record In Form
Dec 4, 2012I have a macro that opens up a form called SLA Complete Form - The macro then goes and examines two fields on the form to see if they contain data and if they do not then it displays a popup box with a message.
The form that gets opened up can have anywhere from one record to approximately a hundred records.
How can I get the macro to stop running when it hits the last record on the form without displaying an error message. I am currently using the next record feature in the macro.
Error Message When Trying To Use Custom Macro Built To Pull Text Data From A File
Jun 4, 2012It is my understanding that a custom macro was built to pull text data from a file and import it into Access in the appropriate fields. This macro no longer works and will return the following error message:
"License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in design mode."
It only gives an option to click OK. When you do it shows a box called "Action Failed" that lists the macro name, condition, action name, and arguments with three button to click on the right of the box: "Step" "Halt" and "Continue". It appears that only the "Halt" button is available to be clicked.
Does this sound like an issue with the Access license or whatever license the macro might have? We're trying to decide if it's possible to restore the functionality of the macro.

In the AfterUpdate event of a cmbBox I have entered the code:

When I then try to select from the drop down list I get a message sying that the Macro cannot be found. What am I missing?
Find Replace Macro
Feb 21, 2006I have a field that I am running a few queries on. What I want to do is run a macro when the form is opened.
I have been looking on how to write a query that will convert any space within a string to a "+". I cant figure it out...
IN the first part of the macro I am setting the field up so I can hyper link to Mapquest. My problem is that the link wont work with the spaces I have in my address field. So i figure after I running the first query to create the string below, I could then run another query to replace all spaces with a "+"
"http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&address=" & [HOUSE_NUM] & "+" & [STREET] & "&city=" & "Some+City" & "&state=" & "TX"

Find And Replace Within A Macro

Is there any way to do a find and replace to change the query and report name within the macro in one step, opposed to going through all the action lines and changing it?

Macro To Find And Replace With Checkbox
Jul 21, 2015I have a database in which the user can select records to print via a checkbox (Yes/No | True/False | -1/0 as the case may be) and then a query that runs through a form to show the list of the records selected with the Print checkboxes as Yes | True | -1.
I want to include a button to change the checkbox for each record from Checked back to Unchecked (Yes back to No | True back to False | -1 back to 0).
Rather than have to Uncheck each individual record, I'd like to have a Macro or Code that will do all the displayed records in one hit.
I have looked at Code and Macro but can't seem to find "Find and Replace" type action that will allow me to do it all in one go.

Mar 19, 2014I am using below code to import various Excel spreadsheets into Access. However every now and again below code goes into error, usually because there is no "toimport" range in the Excel file.
So I would like to use On Resume Next, so it can import all other files. But in order to do it, I need also to be able to somehow capture information about all files that went into error, so I can fix them.
I would like to create like an "error log" and I would like Access to update it with information about all the files that were not uploaded + error message + date/time.
Ideally I would like it to be in Excel file. I tried to use DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet but it does not do what I need
