I'm trying to pass some dates from an excel userform into access.
The date is chosen using the DTPicker tool ( basically a drop down calender). I have set the property of this to custom format dd/MM/yyyy, however dates get passed to the appropriate field in access in the American format.
In access the date fields are set to Short Date and the example shown for this format is in the UK format. I assign the date to a variable before passing that variable to the update SQL string:
Code:
s1 = Nz(DTPicker1.Value, #1/1/2000#)
I have dimmed s1 as date and then added:
Code:
s1 = Format(Date, "dd/MM/yyyy")
My update string is:
Code:
"SET [Stage 1] = " & "#" & s1 & "#" & " "
I suspect that the nozero function may be the issue but am at a bit of loss atm.
How to get this expression to work? It works by changing the numbers to correct date format, however, if the field is null, I want a blank to appear instead of "type"
I am new to access 2010. I have a table called "Forecasts", and I wish to update the timestamp with todays date, whenever the user makes a change to the qty of goods forecasted.
I have been researching online for the solution to the correct format to datetime, but it doesnt seem to work.
Code: Dim todayDate As Date todayDate = Date Dim sqlString As String sqlString = "UPDATE [Forecasts] " & _
[Code] .....
The messagebox shows:
UPDATE [Forecast] SET Branch_Plant=123, Item_Number_Short='222', Description='AAA', UOM='EA', Estimated_Cost=123, Requesting_Business_Unit='AAA', End_Customer='CCC', Project ='Secret', Timestamp=#26/12/2013# WHERE ID =24
Then I hit a syntax error. Whats wrong with sqlString?
I am trying to import an Excel2002 file into Access2002 using the import wizard. There is a hidden worksheet named 'Data' with 5 ranges defined (Page1-5), one of which I am trying to import: I am getting the following error message –
“Import Spreadsheet Wizard -- The wizard is unable to access information in the file ‘D:xxxx.xls’. Please check that the file exists and is in the correct format.”
I have successfully imported other Excel files from the same folder, but using a different original file. The original Excel file giving me the trouble was created in 1999 but has been saved with Excel2002 version.
Can anyone tell me what causes the “correct format” error? I am confident it is something having to do with the Excel file. I've attached a zip file with the problem workbook.
The 1st/2nd Jan of this year were treated by most people as still being week 53 of 2004, and week commencing 3rd January being week 1 of 2005. In VB I have a formula to do this:
So I have a table with around 20,000 records and there is a field which holds a phone number for each individual within the organization, I want to run a select query that counts how many are not in the correct format
The format is 10 digits and it must start with a 0
how shall i define my new Date or numbers. Now "yyyyXX" this is my date "y" is year 4 digits and "XX" is my problem 2 digits. I ll give an example,
(XX = 01....36) XX can be max 36 and min 01 of course. f. Exp. 201436 and next number shall be 201501.
the biggest problem is different of these number with basic math 201501-201436= 65 but for me it should be 01... The Question is; How can define these ??
I have come across a weird event from the 1st July.
I have a form that inputs dates into the table.......nothing special.......
Form is totally unbound and the insertion to the table is done via DoCmd.RunSQL Insert every thing has been fine until the 1st of July at this point it started saving the date into the table in American format 07/02/2013 instead of UK 02/07/2013 There have been no changes to the database at all to give me a reason why this has happened.
The Table fields are set to Date Fields.
The SQL Insert was set to Date ( #" & DATE & "# )
The date displayed on the form is in the correct format to get around this I have set the insert of the date as a string ( '" & DATE & "' ) AND how can i reformat the dates that are incorrectly inserted to the correct format as they include the date and time 07/02/2012 11:11:47
There is about 1000 lines so manual change will be a nightmare.
I've written a vba macro that takes data from Excel, processes it into an XML file & then imports into Access. All fields were fine apart from the date field, which appeared in the Access table as "00:00:00"...The date in the XML was appearing as 01/01/2014.
I have a form with Date of Death (DOD) field. I would like update DOD from a table dbo_patient into Z_Patients table.
I have set the datatype as Date/Time in the form for Date of Death.
Code: Private Sub Update_DOD() Dim rcMain As New ADODB.Recordset, rcLocalDOD As New ADODB.Recordset Dim DOD As String rcMain.Open "select distinct PatientKey from Z_Patients", CurrentProject.Connection
[Code] ....
However I am getting some error Run-time error '-2147217913 Date type mismatch in criteria expression in section below.
Code: CurrentProject.Connection.Execute "update Z_MAIN_Processed_Patients set DateOfDeath = '" & rcLocalDOD!date_of_death & "' where PatientKey = " & !PatientKey
I have 2 files with linking tables. Both are posted on the same network drive for the office to access. However some users have their drive link to drive E: and some to G:, etc. How do I get the file to automatically find what drive the user has and update the correct link in Linked Table Manager?
I wanted to assign the field "Number of magazine" with special format based on date/time format but showing only year and month in the format: "yyyy-mm".
So in property of this field in format I put yyyy-mm and in input mask I type 0000-00;;-
I also created the form based on the table containing above field and I defined format and input mask for corresponding formant in the same way like at the table.
But if I try to type date for example 2014-01 in text box of the form it comes up with the full date 2014-01-01. Why does it do like this? What do I do incorrectly?
what is the correct syntax to write a command line able to UPDATE more than one field in the table records having multiple WHERE criteria.
Here is my challenge:My TableI has the columns A, B, C and D which are populated, for example, as follows:
TableI A B C D 1 2 2 6 4 3
1 7 5 9 1 2 2 5 8 5 etc.
I also have a FormII which updates TableII. Among the existing fields of TableII there are the fields C and D (same as above). When saving data entry thru the save button of the FormII, fields C and D will be naturally saved on the TableII. Well, I also want C and D info updated into Table I as well, but only when field A=1 and B=2.So what I need (for the click event of the button save in the FormII) is to open TableI and either insert or update it with the values of the fields C and D in every record WHERE A=1 AND B=2.For instance, assuming C=& and D=%, the desired result should be as follows:
TableI A B C D 1 2 & % 2 6 4 3 1 7 5 9 1 2 & % 2 5 8 5
I did not find any examples in the net including multiple criteria..Here is what I wrote unsuccesfully:
Private Sub BtSalvarFrmII_Click() CurrentDb.execute "UPDATE TableI" Set FieldC = Forms!FrmII!FieldC.value AND Set FieldD = Forms!FrmII!FieldD.value WHERE FieldA = 1 AND FieldB = 2 Docmd.save Docmd.close End Sub
Code: Private Sub Command26_Click() If Forms![test site]![prp test].Form.[A Right Answer] = -1 Then Forms![test site]![number correct] = Forms![test site]![number correct] + 1 End If DoCmd.FindNext End Sub
Then when clicked it checks a yes/no box to see if "A right Answer" is the correct yes. Then it should pop to the main form and take the number correct cell and add one to it. I am trying to get the record to go to the next record inside the sub-form but docmd.findnext seems to be wrong too.
I have a list of dates in the mm/dd/yyyy format and I am looking to get it into the fiscal format of yyyyww. I am able to do this with the datepart and format functions, but I need to make it so that the fiscal month begins in January but the first week starts if there are three or more days in the week. For instance if Jan 1st is a Friday then this stands as the first fiscal week, if it is a Saturday then it does not count as the first week.
datepart and format functions have the Use the first week in the year that has at least 4 days for the firstweekofyear option but I need it where it has at least three to make it work.
In my Access form, users update 4 checkboxs when their work is completed, when this 4 boxed checked then the 5th checkbox will check automatically using afterupdate. Now i have added the 6 the column with date completed, here i want the date to be updated automatically when the 5th column is checked automatically. how to do it?
I have two identical Databases - one is a Live DB and the other is a Training DB. The data is held on a sql server connected to an access front end. (I do not have access to the sql server).
- On each table I have a field called UpdatedOn - On each table every record has one field that is a unique ref. But the name of each field containing the unique ref is different on each table - There are about 100 table to loop through.
What I need is some code that will loop through each table and each record, and where the UpdatedOn field on the live DB is not equal to the UpdatedOn on the training DB - update the whole line on the training DB with the Live DB data using the unique ref
I intend to only have one access client and import the sql tables from the Live and Training into the one. Therefore for example sqlMyTable will be live DB and sqlMyTable1 will be the Training DB
I have a vba code export a error message if the current date of a file is not correct.. I have tested the code it worked to send a error message to a error.txt file but he it doesn't look to the modified date
So instead of:
file1.txt (13-02-14) Then Send error message ("file not updated") to: Error.txt
IF NOT no action requeried
This code does the following :
file1.txt (Modified date: 13-02-14) Then Send error message ("file not updated") to: Error.txt
file2.txt (Modified date: 14-02-14) Then Send error message ("file not updated") to: Error.txt
Code: Sub CheckD() Dim FSO As Object: Set FSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Dim objFile As Object: Set objFile = FSO.GetFile("C:Users ameDocumentsShow5621.txt") If objFile.DateLastModified <> Date - 1 Then
[Code] .....
So also if it is the current date he send the error message to the error.txt file, it could be possible that i did something wrong.
I am using MS Access with SharePoint Lists and some Access Tables to generate reports in pre-formatted MS Excel Worksheets. My main module opens several classes. One of the classes receives a worksheet to keep in a historical book. This class can receive any one of several different types of pre-formatted worksheets. After all is said an done the class adds a cover sheet to the consolidated workbook and adds hyperlinks to the other sheets, kinda like a table of content. In the class I have the following in the general declaration.
code: Public Enum BookType A = 1 B = 2 End Enum Private pBookType As BookType
Later in the class I have the following:
Code: Public Property Let LoadBookType(ByVal btNewValue As BookType) pBookType = btNewValue AddWorkBook End Property
in the main modual I have the following
Code: classConsolidated.LoadBookType = A
When assigning the above property it passes in "11"
if I change it to the following
Code: classConsolidated.LoadBookType = BookType.A
it passes in "1" as I expect and use in a Select Case statement later in the class. So why does one pass in "11" but the other passes in "1"?
In a query I would like to extract the last ten years. This is what the data looks like:12/13 (Data type = text)(Short for 2012/2013 which actually represents 7/1/2012 to 6/30/2013.)
I am able to extract the "12" and turn it into the general number 2012 using: ("20" & Left([TAXYR],2))*1..But how can I convert that to the data type-date so I can include those records in the past ten years from todays date? I was trying to use DateAdd but I think the problem is the data type and where converting to date gives me "1905" or "9/##/1905." I get why it does that, but is there a workaround? Maybe adding 39,785 days?? (2014-1905)*365
I have this report that needs to be export - 1 report per record
The report exports out but its the same record export out each time ( the name changes - but the data doesn't)
Code:
Private Sub Command0_Click() Dim MyDb As DAO.Database Dim rsemail As DAO.Recordset Dim RefernceNumber As String Dim FilenameZ As String Set MyDb = CurrentDb()
I am trying to load a form based on an if statement. I think my issue is that I have the DB set to Display form "frmSplash" on open. I have tried the following (frmSplash form load event) but it continues past the frmMenu and stops at the frmSplash. I want to open the DB and look to see if it is registered and if yes then open frmMenu. There is 1 record in tblRegistration so it should open to frmMenu. I checked and it is seeing the 1 record.
Code: Private Sub Form_Load() Dim rs As Recordset Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT * FROM [tblRegistration]") If rs.RecordCount > 0 Then
[code]...
Does the display form on open override all? how to achieve to goal?
I am having trouble with the below returning the correct number of records, and can't see why.
I have one table, tblDevice, which has 4 columns, ID | DeviceRecNo | ExcludeFromCheck | StockLocationID
ID - Autonumber DeviceRecNo - Number ExcludeFromCheck - Number (1 = yes, 0 - No) StockLocationID - Number
I have the following running as part of some code, but it is not returning the correct number of records, and I cant see why not. I have tried creating this in a query in Access itself, and copy the SQL into VBA and it still doesn't return the correct number records.
I have 4 records in there for testing, all with StockLocationID = 3, all with different DeviceRecNo, and two each of ExcludeFromCheck, 2x0 and 2x1
Code: Public Function test() Dim db As dao.Database Dim rs1 As dao.Recordset Set db = CurrentDb Set rs1 = db.OpenRecordset("SELECT DeviceRecNo FROM tblDevice WHERE StockLocationID = 3 AND ExcludeFromCheck = 'No'") Debug.Print rs1.RecordCount End Function
