Modules & VBA :: Using Text Box To Filter Report

I have a text box in a report that was calculated,
=IIf([RemainingGrantFunds]<([Grant_Amount]*0.2),"1","0")
So, if certain criteria are met, either a 1 or a 0 will be shown.
Then in my OpenReport VBA I have,
DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName, acPreview, , "ExpiryTag = 1"
'ExpiryTag' is the name of the text box from above.
When it equals 1, I want the report to show those records. I have done this for other reports and it worked so easily, and for some reason it just doesn't want to work on this report. I believe the difference is that the text box is calculated in the report and not in the query (for this report I can not calculate it in the query). I think it might have something to do with the output of the 1 and 0
i.e. "1" versus '1' or just 1.
I have also tried every iteration of "ExpiryTag = 1"
i.e. "ExpiryTag = '1'" or "[ExpiryTag] = 1" etc.

I have a database which have tbl1 with field admission year with data like august/2007, august/2008. i have entered all data with form1. My problem is that i want filter report. user click a button so a form opened and than he entered data in a text box like august/2007 when he click on show report button only those pages which have august/2007 text will display in report. second time when user change text like august/2008 in text box report also show changes.

I have a report [Report1] that gets its data from a query [Query1]. On [Report1] there is an unbound text box [EnterEndDate] that I want to use as a filter for the report criteria, and have it filter the report to show every report row with the value in the [EndDate] field greater than what the user entered in [EnterEndDate].
There is no need to save the value used in [EnterEndDate]. It will be entered after the report is run and changed on demand while the report is open for the user to see different date ranges.

I'm trying to figure out how to filter a report using a check box.
I have created a form, which if you push an industry labled button on that form it will show you the report with what work was done for that industry.
Now I'm trying to modify it so that I have a group of check boxes; each check box being a different office location the company has.
What I want to make happen is if say out of office A. B. C. and D., A. and D. are checked and I hit the button of a specific industry it will bring me up a report of office A. and D. Combined for that industry.
From what I've figured I can create a bunch of reports of all the different possiblities and link those to that senerio, but that seems tedious and ridiculous.
Is there a way I can code VBA to do this for me? Or am I going to have to go through the proccess of creating a bunch of different querries and reports beyond what I have now to pull up an industry.

My code is creating a pdf file that includes everybody's reports instead of just that faculty member's reports.
Once I get it to generate the correct reports, I then have to figure out how to automatically email them.

I have a listbox where the rowsource is a SQL statement. I didn't know if I should try that or just use a query for what I am doing. The listbox is based on our client table, which is a huge number of people, and is showing 3 out of 5 fields.
I have two text boxes, one for first name and one for last name.
I would like the listbox to filter as I search by either field OR by both. Right now, I have the on change event for each with a SQL statement with a Like '*" & Me.textboxname.text & "*' and then a Me.clientlist.rowsource= at the end. So I can get each text box to filter the listbox individually, but I can't get it to filter with both. I think it is a matter of the focus changing, but I could be wrong.

I have a button that opens a report. The code behind the button builds the filter criteria for the report based on some selections in a list box.
Code:

This is what the filter would look like with values after running the report (taken from filter bar in report properties):
([ProjectNo]= '150002' And [ClientID] = 206) Or ([ProjectNo]= '150003' And [ClientID] = 79)
Problem is that i only get records for ([ProjectNo]= '150002' And [ClientID] = 206). I this seems only filter ONE set of criteria ignoring all the others. What am i doing wrong?

When I have a value in "WorkCenter" everything works great and graph looks fine. When I leave blank in order to see all records, I get a blank graph.

I am able to filter a data on a continuous form using drop downs and then the following code attached to a cmdbutton to create a report of the filtered data.

On the same form where I filter the data i can sort it by clicking the headings aswell, however when i generate the report using the above VBA it doesn't take the sort with it and just generates it without the sort.

I have a report, on a control tab, on a main form.
On the form are two buttons: one to show all items, and one to filter them based on a boolean field called showitem.
The buttons work with the code below.
What I want to do but cannot seem to figure out is to have the report default to no filter.
The bound query has no criteria.
I'm trying to set the filter property via the on open or on load event and even if I isolate the report, cannot seem to reach it.

I am trying to filter a report based on two user inputted dates, but can't seem to figure it out. I've played around with quotation marks, and # but can't seem to figure the syntax out.

In my Access 2010 database there is a form with a large number of checkboxes enabling me to select/deselect certain record details.
Each click on one of the checkboxes triggers a VBA routine setting true/false values in one of several tables linked to the main table.
A query over all records is filtered by the true/false values of the linked tables and the resulting set of records is displayed in the (continuous) form.
The header of the form contains a text field with the value "=GetRecCount()" displaying (correctly, but randomly fast) the number of records selected:

Why a field in a form is updated 21 times when a filter is applied?

I have a report and want to set the value of a text box to a value from a query (Field "Week1Start" from Query "qryWeekDates") that is not part of the record source of the Report.
I have tried setting a On Load event:

I am using MS Acess2000 and need to make a report that will be passed around with production work. My primary key is the invoice number of the work order. Currently to open an invoice i have a macro, attached to a query with the following qualifiers; Like [Enter invoice]
This pulls up the current record fine.
for the form and flags the folloing in the property filter sectin of the form
(((([CustomerTableMasterRef].[Invoice]) Like [Enter invoice])))

Now I am trying to use microsofts how to filter a report using a forms filter...
This picks up on the Invoice query as shown above but does not just insert the query results...
Is there better code or another way to approach this... Currently i am using:

I'm trying to hash two scripts I've found into 1 functioning filter, however I'm still relatively new to vba and can't figure out how to get this working.
I'm trying to use Allen Browne's Search Criteria:

The company I work for has branches in multiple states and we use Access to organize all their tax requirements. We print out reports for every month, and my company would like to create a pop-up window that will let us filter the report when it starts up so that it automatically shows only the dates that we wish it to. How do I create a filter that pops-up when the report starts?

Is it possible to use find and replace to modify text in report design - or else is there something else I can do to get the same effect? I have a really useful report and I want to modify it for use with a different dataset. To do that I will need to change the text in over 150 text boxes. I have seven different fields which each occur over 20 times in the control source formulas in the text boxes, because they are used in different ways in different calculations. If this was excel I could do a simple find and replace to change e.g. every reference to fieldname OLD to fieldname NEW, but I cannot see how to do that within access report so am haveing to click on each text box in turn, go to properties and edit the text box .
I am trying to switch to a more general naming system in the modified report so then I will be able to assign data with the required fieldnames for the report within a query. But the report I am starting with has field names based on years 2013, 2014, 2015 etc.I want a quick way to change each reference to those field names to my more generic new field names.

I want to convert to a date and be able to filter by date ranges. I have searched this forum for about an hour and nothing is working.
I am using this:

but
when I add a filter like >=7/1/2007 and get a data type mis,match error
help???

I have a QBF, and when user inputs the search criteria and clicks on print button, a report prints out based on that search criteria. I would like that report to include the search criteria as well. How can I do that?
I am not so good in Access, so please be as much specific as one can get, when suggesting a solution.

I'm a new user with access and I'm trying to build a "Status" report based on criteria within the database.
I've setup a form where the user would choose which "Status" they want to print on the report but in all my reading
(two days worth) I can't figure out how I should accomplish this task.
I'm attaching the database and the form is "frmStatusReport". If someone could take a look at it and give me an
idea of the best possible solution, it would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe someday I can pass my knowledge on to another newbie...

what i have is a form with a report inside of it (i just drug it in and dropped it). the report filters off of a field in the form. So upon opening the form, the report filters correctly. however as i browse through the form records, the report doesn't update. i can't figure out how to get it to update with the form its on. i've tried report.requery in the form_current area but it doesn't seem to re-apply the filter.

This is my first time posting here and I hope someone can help me. I am not experienced with coding in access and only recently started using forms.
I am trying to create a text box that automaticly fills in once a selection is made in a combo box.
There are only 2 tables and 1 form I am working with. Table 1 has columns "code" and "bu". The second table has several columns, all blank, that the form fills in.
The combo box is working correctly, it displays all the "code"s. Once the code is selected I would like a text box to display the "bu" column.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I'm having a hard time with this (what I thought) was a simple filter. I have an unbound checkbox (chkFlag) and an unbound text box (txtfilter). The filter was working fine till I decided to also try to filter on the checkbox.
I'm trying to filter records that either have either a check in the [Flag] field or have some part of the text in various other fields. The problem is I can get the records to filter if the checkbox is checked or on text in the various fields, but not both. I've tried using AND and OR, but it's not working.
