Hello, sorry to post again my question but just cannot find a solution. I have a table and would like to copy data into a template in excel. I know that the code will have to make a copy of the template and then copy the data into the new workbook into sheet1.
My table (table1) has 3 fields: SSN, FNAME and LNAME. I want to copy these fields into cells B1 (for SSN), B2 (for FNAME) and B3 (for LNAME). I will use a combo to select the recorset to copy.
My problem is how to copy data into the template. I understand that it is necessary to run a copy of the template and then copy the data into the new xls file.
Is there a way I can do this via code? Code help is appreciated. Thank you.
I have some vba code that exports the results of a query to a specific excel workbook. Code in this workbook then takes the exported data to "fill out" areas in the workbook. My staff will then use this workbook to perform analysis on a project. After they have completed the analysis, they will then save the excel workbook, and another person will then validate this excel and turn it into a PDF to send as an email attachment.
My question is, when my staff saves the excel workbook, is there a way they can save it directly to the access database? If not, would there be a way to use vba to "attach" this excel workbook to the appropriate record in the access db for future use?

I've lost two shapes in a worksheet, and can't find them because they are formatted with no fill and no borders.
There are a number of other shapes in the sheet which are formatted and so are visible.
How I can find my two runaway shapes? It's important because they have macros assigned, and so a user may find himself clicking on them unexpectedly, with unfortunate consequences.

I don't understand this error because I am using the same program code with another Excel file in another module and it works perfectly.
I am new to MS Access and have been trying to use VBA to import a specific worksheet called "Access" in an Excel file (from about 400 users) into a single table. I want the code to search through one folder and import the "Access" worksheet in each Excel workbook within that folder. Each user has the same worksheet name. Here's my problem. When I execute the code. Nothing happens. I go to the table and find nothing....or I get Runtime error 3011, where MS Access can not find the object "Access". Also, is it possible to update the table without duplicating records?
I have a function which exports some data to Excel, performs some work, and then attaches the final report to an e-mail. As a result of various temporary columns being added / removed (for formulas to determine scope etc.), the main sheet ends up scrolled to the bottom of the used range. Before I attach it to the e-mail, I want to scroll the sheet back to the top-left corner (A1).

It worked up until this week, when I had to make some changes to the rest of the code to refine the output. Now, when it hits the ".ScrollRow = 1" line, I get RTE 91..how I can get the sheet to scroll to the top-left before I save it? (Such that, when subsequently attached to the e-mail, the recipient will open the workbook at the top-left cell and not sacrolled to the bottom).

I am currently working on a form that exports a query that changes after a user set filter is applied, and am able to get the filter to apply and the query to export. The problem I am having is that the worksheet that the query is copied into retains all previous data, and if the earlier query export included more records, they remain as they were, is there any way of getting them to be blank.
I want to export my query onto a worksheet that has current data, need to delete current data or delete worksheet so that only the selected data is shown.

If you put this in a standard module in access, the function works, but the part that doesn't work is where it says "activesheet". It somehow tries to recognize it as a variable, but it's not going to be a variable.
I have a question about the best way to go about linking an excel workbook to an ms access table? I have researched hyperlinks and attachments and ole objects and I am not sure what is the best option. I believe hyperlinks will be best, because the attachments will bloat the database, but I am not sure how to go about doing that in vba? My process is such:
1)Users enter project information 2)Users enter the sample information for each project 3)The project and sample information is combined by a query 4)The user clicks a button to print forms, which runs the query and opens an excel workbook template. 5)The data is exported to a specific sheet in the workbook 6)Using vba in excel, the data is used to populate cells in different sheets depending on critera.
After all of this is accomplished, I need the user to SAVE AS the excel workbook and it needs to be "attached" to the ms access 'project' table. I am not sure what is the best way to link this back to the database. I would like to automate it with vba if possible.
Column A in Spreadsheet is AlphaNumeric and Numeric. When I link to the worksheet, it displays the Alphanumeric entries but shows #Num! for the numeric entries. I have tried changing the format of the cells from number, general and text but get the same results. How can I show both alphanumeric and numeric in a table?

My app opens up any given spreadsheet. The first task is to establish the last row used in the spreadsheet. Normally you would loop until there is nothing in a cell in column A, whatever.
However the way the spreadsheets are provided there may be pleanty of blank rows. I have tried using the Edit GoTo Special LastCell and converting it to a macro
But when I run this VB it does not like it for some reason.

I need to find the latest of several date fields in a SINGLE record of a query. The Max function seems only to work for a single field across several records in a query. However the worksheet function Max suggests I can use it for in-record fields but it does not work in queries. It is called a Worksheet Function but what is an Access worksheet? I know what it is in Excel but not Access. Neither Help nor two thick reference books even mention worksheets.
I have a database with two tables, and a form that is bound to the 1st table. I have a duplicate record button on the form. One of the functions I want to happen is when the duplicate button is pressed, one value is copied from the form and added to the 2nd table. The tables are basically set up the same with an ID column which is the key and an autonumber, and the second value is a number. So I want to copy the number to the other table and add a record. What is the best method? Can I use an insert into and just copy from a variable, or is the better method with a recordset. Either way, I have not been able to figure this silly thing out and it is preventing me from moving forward with this database.
ok so I have two forms open: One is a SP Bookings form with a subform SPDetails Query subform. The other form is the not connected/related SP Contacts Query form, to which users enter Full Name weight age ect. Need to copy the names of the new customers Full Name to the Lookup Contact Column in SPDetails Query subform. I got this far, with my trial runs are commented out. The only thing it does when I click on the button is move to new record on Sp Contacts Query Full Name and Copy the previous record. How do I get the button to copy the Full Name from form SPContacts Query.Full Name to the SPBooking Query.subform SPDetails Query Subform.LookupContact

This code is supposed to loop around a directory of photos (named after a project), and then copy a new photos (from another directory) to this folder, numbering them and the logging them in a table tphotos.The first time a copy photos to a new directory the code works fine. And I think I had it working fine before, but now when I copy photos to a pre-existing directory that has already photos, it only overwrites the first photo, instead looking for the last photo and attributing the new photo number n+1.
I've done debug.print in the code, and it looks like is not going into If NewFileName = f1.Name, therefore doesn't compare the newfilename with the files in the folder.

I have four tables: tblinvoice / tblinvparts tblquotes / tblquoteparts
when I open the tblinvoice form it has tblinvparts as a subform. tblinvoice has a listbox that lists quote numbers linked to vehiclereg. I have a button on the tblinvoice that will open a popup tblquoteparts continuous form linked to the quoteid on tblinvoice. These filtered records have a select button so I can select all or some.
I have now got stuck as I need a button on tblquoteparts popup that will copy the selected records from tblquoteparts and paste them into tblinvparts where quote (on tblequoteparts)=quoteid in tblinvoice.
