Modules & VBA :: Export Pdf With Field Names Included With File Name
Feb 7, 2014
I have a report that I would like to export to a folder, and I would like to include the FullName within the naming convention of the PDF. When I run the report it prompts for the Employee ID..Here is what I have so far, I'm getting an error of "Run Time Error 424 object required" on the String Report Name,
Private Sub Create_PDF_Click()
Dim myPath As String
Dim strReportName As String
DoCmd.OpenReport "Report_Salary_Worksheet _Finalized_By_EmpID", acViewPreview
myPath = "W:COMPENSPHYSICIANSComp Plans"
strReportName = Report_Salary_Worksheet_Finalized_By_EmpID.[FullName] + ".pdf"
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "", acFormatPDF, myPath + strReportName, True
DoCmd.Close acReport, " Report_Salary_Worksheet _Finalized_By_EmpID "
End Sub
I have succeeded (with some help from this site!) in creating a clinical database for the Diabetes Care team in our hospital. Now, our IT helpdesk staff want me to list the field names and data types. The design view of the tables seems to contain everything they need, but I have tried everything and cannot find a way to paste this info. out into any other format, Word, Excel etc. Has anyone ever managed this or is there something else I should do?
I have a folder in which there are PDF files stored. Now in the Form, there is a combobox and I want the code so that when a Form is loaded then add all those PDF file names(only first 9 letters of that) in the combobox.
e.g if the PDF file name is ABCDE1990-YYY then add ABCDE1990 in the combobox. So if there 10 PDF files in the folder then add 10 names in the combobox.
I have a VBA routine that runs some queries and then creates a report as a PDF document using my virtual PDF printer. At this point it brings up the Save As dialog and I give the file a name and select a folder to store it in.
But I run this report 30 times for 30 different parameters. The parameters are obtained from a table which contains values such as Cancer, Diabetes, Stroke
-I always name the PDF file according to this value. -I always choose the same folder. -I always overwrite the reports I produced last month (copies have been sent elsewhere by then).
how can I get VBA to cycle through this code 30 times, each time selecting the next value from my table and creating/overwriting those files without the need for me to tell it the filename and path?
Code: Private Sub lstSpecialties_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)
At the moment I am running this code by double-clicking an entry in the Specialty listbox, 'but I would prefer the whole thing to run multiple times for as many Specialties as exist in the table '(currently 30 but could be more in time)
'Warnings off DoCmd.SetWarnings False 'Make the tables needed for the cumulative queries DoCmd.OpenQuery "Spec 002 Monthly recruits - part 2 - make table" Each of these queries DoCmd.OpenQuery "Spec 005 Monthly recruits - part 2 - make table" uses the Specialty selected above DoCmd.OpenQuery "Spec 022 ABF previous year - part 2 - make table" as a parameter to get DoCmd.OpenQuery "Spec 025 ABF current year - part 2 - make table" the right data for the report
I am using Access 2010 with Win-7.Shared, split database with several users.Database Purpose:PM Procedure for Medical Equipment..To be able for the user to copy the file name of 1 or more technical manuals and paste into a table used for a subform on the procedure parent form.Users can then open the related files stored in a common directory that are related to the procedure when later reviewing the procedure .
Problem:File path on the common drive for our group remains static Syspro_5VOL1BIOMEDCOMMONEquipment (Service Manual). The subfolders are not static. There is an unlimited number of sub folders by vendor, model, or make. The subfolders sometimes get renamed as vendors change ownership. The file itself usually does not get renamed.New subfolders get added as needed.Everyone in our group has access to this area of the server.
Question:Is there a way in VBA that when a user opens the procedure record form and dbl-clicks the name of the file in the subform, Access can start at the parent folder and keep searching through all the subfolders until it finds the file?I cannot depend on people in my group to be able to correctly update hyperlinks so I need a way people with no Access knowledge can even use even if its a little slow.
In access i want to create a button that can export a form to a .pdf file i know this is possible true VBA, and i tried to google but all those vba codes do not work.
I'm trying to put together a few lines of VBA code to export a report called "Rework Label Report" to a specific network location in PDF Format, I have already achieved this level of code and it works fine (code below); however each report has a unique number in the database [ID] which I would like included in the title of the PDF when exported and saved?
Code so far:-
Private Sub Command20_Click() Dim stReport As String Dim stSubject As String
[Code]....
Me!Combo3 is a combobox on form which selects the number of the report to be viewed ,the user then sees a preview of their chosen report and then clicks Cmd20 to export to PDF, currently the file is named Rework Label Report when saved.
What I would like to achieve via code on a button. From the table orders
Code: orderDate orderID ref name amt vat 02/02/2014 56789 01 magdi 600 100 22/06/2014 12122 01 magdi 654 100 22/06/2014 65897 02 simon 250 159 22/06/2014 12345 02 simon 156 140 23/07/2014 56781 01 magdi 400 250 01/08/2014 12457 01 magdi 250 900 01/09/2014 56787 02 simon 126 500 02/09/2014 56781 04 peter 400 250 02/09/2014 12345 02 simon 450 122 02/09/2014 65897 04 peter 250 231 02/09/2014 12122 05 hargr 654 100 02/09/2014 79457 05 hargr 254 200
I need to create csv files from the above based on unique date and ref and with filename showing date and ref. So from the above we should get 9 csv files in this format
I have this report that needs to be export - 1 report per record
The report exports out but its the same record export out each time ( the name changes - but the data doesn't)
Code:
Private Sub Command0_Click() Dim MyDb As DAO.Database Dim rsemail As DAO.Recordset Dim RefernceNumber As String Dim FilenameZ As String Set MyDb = CurrentDb()
i want to make an excel file from a query and then export it to mail. i want to make an excel and then send it as an attachhment. also i want to insert the mail address to manually because each time it is sent to a different person.
I have a form with a list of names. When a specific name is selected from the list, a button is clicked and a query is run with the specific name as the criteria/filter.
I've written code to export these same query results to an Excel sheet, and I want the Excel file name saved with the name selected in the form.
Below is the code that I've written that doesn't work.
How to generate an export specification file by using Access 2007. Many instructions says click on "Advance" while exporting a text file manually but unfortunately i can not find that "Advanced" option in my access software.
I have 3 queries that provide the same printer information. Each one is queried by a different field: IP address, asset tag, and serial number. This may not mean anything in the long run, though I figured it is worth mentioning.
The users need to be able to quickly query a printer utilizing one of those criteria and then copy and paste it into our ticketing system. Is there a way to automatically export the record from the query to a text file? I have extensively searched online and have tried to come up with something but I have found that I don't know where to start. This is the code for the query:
Code: Dim intCount As Integer intCount = 0 If DCount("Location", "Phone numbers Query") > 0 Then intCount = intCount + 1 DoCmd.OpenQuery "", acViewNormal, acReadOnly
In VBA I have set a timer on a form to run a query and export to a specific folder as an excel file.
If I open the database as 'File Open' and open the form and let the timer run it exports perfectly.
As soon as I put the database into runtime - the Timer code kicks in and starts running but as soon as it hits the export line. It stops and then does nothing
I have an access program that is stored on a SharePoint site. I want to be able to export report to the computer even if I just open the access program as read only. Here's my code:
Code:
Private Sub btnExport_Click() On Error GoTo btnExport_Click_Err Dim db As DAO.Database Dim strSQL As String Dim qdfTemp As DAO.QueryDef Dim qryFilter As DAO.QueryDef
I have the following code to export a query into a excel file:
Code: Dim outputFileName As String outputFileName = "C:AccountSpreadsheet est.xls" DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acExport, acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, "Q_Search_Invoices", outputFileName, True Dim xlApp As Object Set xlApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application") xlApp.Visible = True xlApp.Workbooks.Open "C:AccountSpreadsheet est.xls", True, False Set xlApp = Nothing
This works almost exactly how I want it to work.
The only thing wrong is that the columns are all the same width and they are all to narrow.
Is there a way to make the columns automatically become the width of the longest text within them (exactly what happens when you double click on the side of a squashed column in excel)?
So I press a button on my Form1 and my tbl_customers table is exported onto a specific sheet in a templated Excel file "customer-template" that I have created.
This file has formulas on another sheet that based on the imported data.
The file is then saved to a specific location C:AccessCustomersHistory with the file name based on a date that was criteria from my original form E.g. "customers 11-02-15"
Basically im trying to setup a click button that will export my query as a text file ( the text file will then be fixed width and i have already setup the specifications for this).
I think i get how to complete the export part as below
OutFilePath = "file location i want the data to be exported to"
The logic I'm trying to create is the following: If the number of Fuel Types is greater than two, then the field will have the value 'MPS.' Otherwise, the field will just have the regular fuel type value. It's referencing this fuel type field in the function that is the problem. I have not been able to get this working.
