I have my data updated 3 certain times in a day. So i dont want to bother opening the same access 3 times a day. That access can be opened whole day no problem for me. So, how to run macros automatically in a time which I determine before ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHello everybody.
I made a small access program.
When I run a macro I get a error message saying that the macro can only run 20 times. I tried to solve this problem by having one macro calling another macro, but it does not work. Anybody any idea how to solve this problem.
As attched file I send the program in ZIP format. If you want me to send it in not ziped, please tell me. OK how can I send attachements here. I don't see it. So please tell me if you want me to send it to you by mail. My address is bvdhaegen@gmx.de
If you go on record 12 and click on refresh, you'll see the problem poping up.
Thank you all for your help.
I am trying to write a more complex macro that will start another macro at a preset time, however I am getting stopped at the first hurdle - getting a macro to run another macro.
Here is the code i am using at the moment, all I want to do currently is click the first button, then get the second macro to execute. But no luck, getting error 2157 "cannot find the procedure"
Code:
Private Sub Command3_Click()
MsgBox "1st macro running", vbExclamation, "Note"
Application.Run "teststart1"
' Application.OnTime TimeValue("19:55:00"), "teststart1"
[code]....
I know Access can setup an Outlook Task to auto-export query to Excel, but it requires the Outlook to be always open on the user's computer.
Is there an easy way to setup a schedule that can automatically export a query to Excel and this schedule will then auto-email the exported Excel file to an email address every Monday at 5AM for example?
If this can only be done in VBA, any reference I may start with?
I create form to calculate the difference between clock-in time and clock-out time, what is the code to do that
I have 2 fields :
field 1 name clockin
field 2 name clockout
I have a text box to display result equal the period between time1 and time 2...
I have a situation where I am using a maketable query to create a table and then I need to use append queries to then add additional records to the created table - some of these are just run once and some multiple times.
if possible, I do not want to hard code the query multiple times i.e.
Code:
DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryCreate_1"
DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryAppend_1"
DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryAppend_1"
DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryAppend_1"
etc
So is there a way I can run the make table query and then get some sort of loop to run the append query a number of times ?
At the moment I am working a little project at work and am stuck on how to calculate departments due date based on actual order due date.
example:
OrderID: xxxxxx-xx DueDate: 10/8/13
Now let say i have 5 different departments but I want/need to know what should be the due date for each of those departments based on the due date on top.
Is it possible to copy a record 'n' number of times, incrementing the date by either days, months, weeks etc?
I have a regular payments table that will need to be edited at some point should either dates, or amounts change, but... regardless of the size of the table, it's not a problem, as these will be moved to a different table and deleted once paid.
Given the example, would it be possible to copy this record and additional 5 times, incrementing the date by one week.
Is there any way to press a command button a certain amount of times based on a value in a text box.
i.e.
text box value = 5
button gets pressed 5 times with one click...
I would like to update a txtbox with a simple int count of the number of times a mouse is left-clicked while on an active form. How do I do this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to do a loop but never done one before, basically i want to copy the current record by the number of times specified in a quantity field
So if the quantity field in the record says 5 then copy that record 5 times (I have managed to create the copy and paste code but dont know how to make it do it 5 times
Code:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSelectRecord
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdCopy
DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPaste
In my Access 2010 database there is a form with a large number of checkboxes enabling me to select/deselect certain record details.
Each click on one of the checkboxes triggers a VBA routine setting true/false values in one of several tables linked to the main table.
A query over all records is filtered by the true/false values of the linked tables and the resulting set of records is displayed in the (continuous) form.
The header of the form contains a text field with the value "=GetRecCount()" displaying (correctly, but randomly fast) the number of records selected:
Code:
Function GetRecCount() As String
Dim NumRecs As Long
Dim rs As Object
On Error Resume Next
Set rs = Forms![Super Search].RecordsetClone
rs.MoveLast
NumRecs = rs.RecordCount
Set rs = Nothing
GetRecCount = Format(NumRecs, "##,###")
End Function
Now, the funny thing is that each click on one of the boxes results in 1 call of the VBA routine setting table values, but 21 calls (!) of the text field "=GetRecCount()" in the form. I have established this by incrementing a public variable at each pass.
Why a field in a form is updated 21 times when a filter is applied?
I have a form with a button which when pressed need to run a macro which sits on a different form.
i have tried run macro ad do cmd but none of these work.
Using Access 2007:
how to get macro properties using vba? I've attempted something similar to the below to try and divine macro properties:
Code:
Sub MacroDiscovery()
Dim mcr As AccessObject
Dim prop As AccessObjectProperty
For Each mcr In CurrentProject.AllMacros
Debug.Print mcr.Name
For Each prop In mcr.Properties
Debug.Print prop.Name
Debug.Print prop.Value
Next
Next
End Sub
Nothing comes up except the macro names. In my database, I have an AutoExec macro that I have manually added a description to; "This macro auto-executes when the database is opened by virtue of it's name." I can view the description by right-clicking on the macro and choosing 'Object Properties'.
Background:I am attempting to make a universal Access Database documenter for the many, many homemade databases on our network. I'm only interested in certain pieces of information and I would like to make a report to view the information how I want to view it. Thus, I don't care for the built-in documenter--I want to do it my way.
I have inserted a function via a module at the beginning of a Macro using the RunCode action:
Function Msgbox_Yes_No()
Dim Response As Integer
Response = MsgBox(prompt:="Select 'Yes' or 'No'.", Buttons:=vbYesNo)
If Response <> vbYes Then
End If
End Function
However, it doesnt stop the macro from continuing on its way to delete a load of records if the user chooses no.
I have 2 forms and a macro in Form1 which runs throught every record to update the records, however.I would like to run this macro from the main form (Form2)
I have tried
docmd.openform "Form1"
Run Macro
but it doesnt work
I'm working in 2003 (still) and have a macro to print the selected form the user has on their screen. I need this same macro to also print a PDF in a particular network folder or just exit if the PDF doesn't exist. I've tried RunSQL with "PrintDoc [Link2PDF]" as the argument. I've tried RunApp with "Acro Rd32.exe /t [Link2PDF]" as the argument but neither one works. The RunApp line will open the Adobe reader but nothing more.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to have a macro run at a set time each day. I hoped to use .ontime but apparently that doesn't exist in access.
The macro must run at 10:00am each day, the db will be open from 8:30am until 16:30pm so no problem from that point of view +/- a few mins when the staff arrive.
I am trying to pass a date field from a Form and check if this date already exists within a table if so run this macro.
This is what I have so far...
Private Sub Command38_Click()
If DCount("*", "TblDietPlan", "[MealDate] = <> txtCusDate Then
stDocName = "McrPrint_LabelsWklyCR"
DoCmd.RunMacro stDocName
[Code] ....
I have an open form with buttons to open other forms and use an If statement to position them an example is below.
Code:
Private Sub Command31_Click()
DoCmd.OpenForm "Opener", acNormal
If Me.Frame54 = 1 Then
DoCmd.MoveSize 2500, 1000
ElseIf Me.Frame54 = 2 Then
DoCmd.MoveSize 25500, 1000
End If
End Sub
This works perfectly, however I need to put similar code as a line in a macro and cannot seem to link it.
Code:
Public Function totalmove()
If Forms.Scan_Data.Frame54 = 1 Then
DoCmd.MoveSize 2500, 1000
ElseIf Forms.Scan_Data.Frame54 = 2 Then
DoCmd.MoveSize 24000, 1000
End If
End Function
I get Error 438 object doesn't support this property or method...
I have two tables in my Access database, their fields are exactly the same (for now). One table is called Uncheched. The other one is called Checked. So what is need is a macro that takes selected records in table Unchecked and copies them to the end of table Checked. Actually CUTS from Unchecked and PASTES to the end of Checked table.
Sub MoveRecords()
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdCut
DoCmd.OpenTable "tblChecked", acNormal, acEdit
DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acLast
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPaste
End Sub
I have a table it contains a list of opening and closing values along with a date and a couple control fields. What I would like to do is duplicate a few fields from records that meet a criteria onto the same table. After that is done there will be a few updates on the new records. Looking at it, it would be: 'duplicate' where field2 <> 0 and field5 = No and field6 = Yes. All other fields on the newly created records would be their default values.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have built an access application that contains a set of buttons along the top of every form that serve as navigation.* These buttons each perform the same function on every form they are on. (menu opens the main menu, etc) I have database macros to assign each button the same function but I still have to go through each form and manually assign them. I was wondering if it was possible to define a public function that on db open will look for all buttons with a certain name and assign them the macro. (so all buttons called cmdmainmenu will have the OpenMainMenu macro assigned and so on).Before you go there, I have already tried the navigation form and set all forms as subforms.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI completed the Op[en form and find specific data wizard and it works.
Here is my issue: If there is no data to find, I get a "Stop Macro" error.
How to change this?
Actually I need to select printer before printing report. That's why I need to call printer dialog to select printer using "PrintObject" in macro. But it's print the form not report. I need to print a specific report.
