Queries :: Multiple Records Appear In Output Of Query
Mar 4, 2015i have got 2 tables i am trying query against. in table 1 i have a list of records which only appear once in the table under 1 field. in table 2 list of records which may have the same record appear under the same field numerous of times with different data in other fields on the table. i have created the reationship between both tables but i am getting multiple records appear in the output of the query where i only want the record to appear once in the output.

Mar 25, 2013I am trying to get the output of several nested IIF expressions to show in only one filed in the table created. The output needs to be captured in a table. I am staring with create table to get it to work before I go ahead and use the sql to update the original table (the table the data is from)
I can get each to run fine independently and the whole thing runs too, the issue is it wants to put each expression in a new column, thus it is forcing me to label the expression.
Can I change this to only output in one column or add some more sql to do so?
Here is the SQL (table and filed names have been changed to protect the innocent)
BTW, I cannot change the Table the data comes from, I am stuck with the single table structure (BOO).

Apr 8, 2013I wish to change the backcolor of a field on a current record being dispalyed in a 'multiple items' form. However when using me.A.backcolor = makes refrence to all fields called A on the 'multiple items' form and therefore all fields change colour not just the current record.

I am writing mini database which will produce labels for boxes. I want to be able to produce a sheet of labels based on the 'number of labels' to print field. I can output one label or many on the page/s depending on how I structure the query and how many records are in the query.
My Question:
I need is a query which takes an individual record and duplicates it by the integer in the 'Number of Labels' field
any ideas?

Reports :: Output A Report To Multiple PDFs
Feb 6, 2015I have several reports that creates price sheets for all of my customers. It is a report with multiple subreports within, and I am trying to create a process to seperate them and export them all into [Customer Name].pdf. I have tried to scrap some code together from various forums, and it has been unsuccessful.
For example, one of the reports "rptPriceSheetQuarterly", has a field "txtCustomerName", that feeds the queries for the other subreports. I would like to create a new PDF when that field changes.
I understand I need some sort of looping code that will cut the report up dump them all into one folder, but I am totally out of my element here.
Querying A Table Multiple Times Based On Output

I need to run a parameter query in which you enter a product number and the query (a) returns the list of components and (b) then automatically reruns the query for these components. In other words, I enter an input (a product number) the query gives me outputs (component numbers) and then reruns the query with each of these outputs as the input (i.e. I want to know what are the sub-components of these components). This process stops when all the components are raw materials -- this will be easily identifiable.
Does anyone know how to set-up this type of query?

Queries :: MIN Function With Additional Fields Displayed
Feb 5, 2015I am trying to return the MIN in a numeric field (single result) from my database and I have no issues doing this BUT the problem is that I also need to display additional fields in order to make the result useful. The additional field can't be grouped by b/c that changes the result of the MIN function.

Sep 5, 2014I have a query that is linked to a data table. The values entered in the data table are fine and display as expected. When I run the query, the results of one of the columns show Chinese like characters instead of the actual value. But, when I filter that column by choosing 'does not contain...' the actual cell contents display. I have 2 other identical queries reading from the same table and they do not display funky.

Queries :: Count Can Be Displayed From Collection Table Next To Correct Site Name
Sep 12, 2014I have a master table with all of my Site Names in it. I have a collection table that when a barcode is scanned it records the site name as being received. I built a query that counts the number of times the site name has been received.
What I want to do is list all of my sites from the master then display the count next to the corresponding site name. This will identify those sites that did not send in an item. Is there criteria in the query I could use so that 1) I could list all of my sites from the master table and then the count can be displayed from the collection table next to the correct Site Name?
Queries :: Adding Value To Query Output
Dec 12, 2013I have a field in a query that shows amount of hours a site is covered. This field name is Coverage hours and it changes depending on the number of work days in a month. This part is working correctly but some times additional hours may be requested by the customer.
I want to add a another field to this query that will prompt me if their were any additional covered hours. Then I would have the ability to enter a value and the shown output for this field would be the value entered plus the standard coverage hours in the other field.
I'm not sure how to set up the new field.

Feb 13, 2014I am trying to modify the output to only show discontinued items. While the query is in datasheet view, the text is read as "YES" or "NO" under discounted items. So, I tried entering "YES" in criteria while in design view, but keep getting an error message stating, "Data type mismatch in criteria expression".

Apr 17, 2014I've created several expressions in a query to test for values in a field (one column for each value for use in a report).
The expressions output the value 1 where the test is true. I planned to sum them to establish how many times the value is true but this isn't working. I am only offered a Count and this returns the number of records. Other fields (numeric) are offering me a sum at the total line and are working as expected.
I assume the expressions are outputting the value one as text rather than as a number but I can't work out how to change this.

1st. UsedAF: nz(DSum("AF_lengte+AF_zaagbreedte";"VRMUTSTAF";"VR ID = " & [VR].[VRID]);0)
2nd. UsedRES: nz(DSum("RES_lengte+RES_zaagbreedte";"VRRESSTAF";" VRID = " & [VR].[VRID]);0)
Now with a third expression I like to sum those 2 up.
3rd. Used: [UsedRES]+[UsedAF]
The thing I run into is when 1st has a value of 15 and 2nd a value of 0 the outcome of 3rd is 150 while it should be 15 ofcourse.
When I change the first 2 expressions to Sum (at Totals) the 3rd works properly. Yet the other 2 comes with wrong values.
Forms :: Determine Which Form Is Displayed After Current Form Is Closed
May 1, 2014I have a series of forms that become current in a certain order. For example a menu form comes up. This is followed by a search form where the user gives search parameters. Then appears the results list. If the user wants a detail form comes after that, etc. Now when the user closes the last form I want the form before that one to show up and when he closes that one the one before that and so on. That is I am going to use the close button to go back to the previous step. How can I do this.

Aug 12, 2005Some of my collegues have been experiencing this problem with a very simple database i knocked up for them. First off some background. I have a main form (frmproperty) with 3 subforms linked to it(frmroomdata, frmlocation and frmsample). by a property code. Two of these subforms are linked (frmlocation and frmsample) these are linked by location code which is an autonumber.
These are laid out so that you fill in room data first, then location data then finally sample data. However after the location data has been filled out and a user attempts to move to the first combobox on the sample subform a message pops up saying that another user has altered the database and would you like to save changes (Impossible as they are using the database on a local drive). After this happens they reopen the form and in all the frmsample fields is "#deleted"
This doesn't happen every time...infact over the last 2 days i have been entering data myself to try and get this error with no luck. Has anyone else come across this and know how to fix it?

May 6, 2014I saved my form with a particular name and I have used that name all throughout my code and it still works fine. But when I open that form, the name I see on the top of the form is not that name at all. It's actually some value I gave a combo box a while ago.

The problem is that this code returns the record number relative to other records (so, this record is number 2634 of 2634). However, I am trying to get the ID of the record, which is an autonumber and is not the same as the record's order amongst other records. There have been record deletions ahead of this record, so the ID might be 3096 even though CurrentRecord tells me that this record is number 2634. Is there another way of writing this to get what I need?

I've written a query to calculate year to date (YTD) points for yachts in a series of races and sorted it in descending order - so yacht 1 is coming first, yacht 2 is coming second etc. I'm looking for a way to add sequential numbering (starting at one and increasing by one for each line) into the query to represent their YTD places. Or this this something that should be left to the report which uses the query?
