I have a data entry form which allows users to add data to table A. On the form is a combo box populated from table B, that creates a list of values the user can pick from during data entry. If the user doesn't find the desired value in the combo box, then the value needs to be added to table B before it can be added to table A. On the combo box, box I have the event "NOT IN LIST" set to launch a macro to open a form that will allow an item to be added to table B. But its not working. In fact, nothing happens at all.
To get around this, I added a button to my form that allows the users to open a form which will allow the new value to be added to table B. But this isn't working correctly either since the combo box on the data entry form for table A doesn't show the new value.
I have a chart I am trying to create that pulls data from a table. It pulls from a list of about 7 items. The issue I have is when I do this it is showing the ID numbers in the legend and not the actual names>
I am trying to populate a list box with an event after update in a combo box. I can get the formula to work using 2 criteria, the problem is i nee to add a third criteria. When I try to add it I get the run-time 13 error.

I'm calling a Public Click event on a Form, from a Delete Record button on another form. Debugging shows that the code executes correctly line for line... but the 'Event' doesn't function as it should. The main feature I need to to iterate over the controls on the second form to disable them, to prevent users from typing in, causing relationship error. Why is this?! Even after the execution of the code... I can click on the refresh button myself, which will disable the control, but not if I call the event from the code.

I have a combo box with four choices. I then have four labels. If i select A in the combo box i want LabelA to show up, B in combo box Label B (but not Label A) and so on.
I have set the property for all labels to (not) visible.
Then on the combo box I have put (On Click) event if cmboxx is "A" then me. label A.visible = true else me.label A.visible = false end if.
This works fine if I am entering a new dataset but when I exit from the database and then go back in, the label is not visible. I have tried entering the code in the OnLoad event of the form but that doesn't work. Any ideas?
Also - if the combo box also has its selection made before I enter this code then the label is not visible until i go back and re-enter (ie" click) it. Any ideas

using a method ive just learnt ;) thanx pat and rv the user can choose a company and a staff member for each job. the relevant id is placed in the job fields and thats all good.

eventually there will be many companies and many more staff members. what i would like to happen on the form is when the user selects which company they are dealing with...only the relevant staff who work for that company are displayed in the listbox.. in other words i want to filter the staff names by the chosen companyid.
what code do i need to place and where.. my company list box is called "complist" and my staff list box is called "stafflist" and the form they are on is called "enterjob"

If you click on the main form called frmpatient you will see 2 text boxs one called Primary Insurance the other Called Secondary Insurance
Above those text boxes are to hyper links which open the list box
What I'm trying to do is if a user double clicks the name of the Insurance From the List Box it will insert that Name of the Insurance Into either The Primary Insurance or Secondary Insurance Text Fields

Hi I have placed a ListView on the form. I have written a DblClick event for the ListView. The application is a multi-user one. The issue is that the DblClick event was working for few days and now it does not work for any of them but it is working only in my system.
Is it related to reference ? I developed the tool on my system and placed in a shared folder from which everybody uses. Do I need to give reference in all the system ? Please help. I am stuck with this problem.

I have a basic form linked with a subform inside of it. The main form has a list of customers in a combobox and the subform lists all the things they have ordered from us. This all works perfectly fine, I can add data to the list of things ordered and it's ok.
I decided instead of using a whole extra form to add customers I'd just have a not in list event and allow users to add customers through there, bit more intuitive and cut down on forms.
It works to certain extent except one small problem, if I add a customer I have to close and reopen the form to be able to add/remove data from them in the subform. If I leave the form open and try to enter in data in the subform immediately it just shows whatever customer I had last on the combobox and adds it to the last customer as well.
It works perfectly fine if I reopen it so I thought it was some kind of query or update snafu but all the VBA code examples I found don't seem to do anything. Not exactly sure where to go from here.

I have a form (about patients) containing a listbox (list of visit dates) and a subform (showing medications at that date). When you click on the listbox, the subform is re-queried with the selected date as a parameter to show the medications that were in use on that date. This is working fine.
However, when you move to a new record (patient), the subform is initially blank because the listbox hasn't been clicked on yet. This means that it looks like the person isn't on any medications, which is causing some confusion.
I need a way to have the subform show the "top" (most recent) date because that is the current medication list, and the thing most people want to see first. It is always the top of the list, so I would like to do something like this (pseudocode)

I have a combo box on a form and when an item is selected other controls are populated from various tables. I'm currently using the OnChange event, but have tried others. It works great if you select an item, but is you type text in it does not work properly. I've tried lots of things but with every scenario am able to break it by typing certain text.
Is there any way to put a drop down list on the form (that is NOT a combo box)? Another option I found under "More Controls" is a "Microsoft Forms 2.0" combo box which you can set to be a DDL, but other features of it do not seem to work properly on the form. I'm not able to populate it with data. Documentation on MSDN is extremely light. Is there a way to populate this with a list?
Is there any event for the standard combo box that only fires if you select an item from the list - not if you type in text?
I know how to assign an event to a combo box, but I want to be able to launch a specific link, app, or email template, based on the actual selection from the combo box. So when I make a selection, whatever program or event I assign, to that specific selection, will launch.
I have a form with a subform that contains a combobox where I choose companies to add to a project that is on the main form. If the user types in a company name that is not in the database, I run code on the NotInList event that passes the company name using openargs to a company entry form.
After this form is closed, I return to the subform to choose the company name that I just added, only it is not there because I can't figure out where to automatically requery this combobox. My duct tape solution that's working, is a command button that runs this code when clicked:
I have tried putting this code in the OnCurrent, OnFocus, Onclick, OnEnter....etc on the subform and on the combobox itself. So far the only way it requeries is if I use the command button.if you want to see the NotInList code, and the code on my company entry form.
I have a main form which is linked through a [PackageID] field to a subform. i wast to use the same form for both shipments in and out. the subform has a list of serial numbers add for each [package id].
On the main form i have addresses ect and then a combo box onthe [PackageID] field which brings up all the serial numbers that came in, in that package.
This is perfect for sending a large container back out unopened, however there are times when the database will need to 'pick and choose' serial no.s from several packages. To do this i made the [SerialNo] field on the subform a combo box - looking up all the serial no.s in stock - however when a serial no is selected it doesn't update the other 15 fields in the subform.
Any sugestions? Got a feeling thats its quite an easy thing to do but its beaten me!
I have a main form with two combo boxes on which are linked if you select from the first cbo it filter the second. I also have subform that has a combo box on which is filtered by the second cbo on the main form. All works lovely when adding a new record BUT when I move to another record the cbo entries in the subform are not there, there are saving to the table are all the other data is showing just not the combo box entries - to get round this I have to reselect from the second cbo click into the subform and refresh and then they appear but this isn't how it's meant to work and I'd have to do this on every record but it then resets the previous one

This all work fine apart from if no is selected - I am trying to get the combobox to undo the change however when you select no the msgbox pops up fine but the combobox does not undo

Any ideas why combo boxes that all have their "auto expand" option set to YES are not auto expanding as I type-in text? They were working last week and I have no idea why they're not working now. Strangely, if I type in any of the entries present in the combobox list (text such as "St. Louis City") exactly as it appears in the combobox list, and then press enter, I get an error message telling me the value is invalid. Then, if I use the drop-down list to find and select "St. Louis City", it allows me to enter this value.
I have document management system for 2 projects in one db. I have a login form where user has to select the project id thru a combobox. And I have all the queries based on this combobox to display results in form or report. But after login and selecting the project, login form closes and main form opens to display data pertaining to that project. But it does not work, the moment we click close to open main form again query method apears displaying the same string :[Forms]![frmLogon]![Project]. This happens for all forms, reports. I cant't figure this out. Can somebody please help me?
