Name Change Of Tables, Forms, Fileds Etc.

A few years back I saw a program which helped with database changes. I want to change names of fields and tables, queries etc. in a rather complex database. Does anybody know where I can get this tool or program to run through the database and change it in all corners and crevices on a search and replace basis?

I am running access 2007 in Win7. I have a time sheet application that I wrote many years ago. Within same I have a button to press to open a new form to enter time sheet data. The data for the form comes from a query that links Employee and the Timesheet history data file.In an effort to upgrade and make the application more portable and available to multiple users, I decided to migrate the data tables to a Microsoft SQL 2012 database. Various Access reports based on the SQL database run ok. But if I try to open a form to add a new record I get the following error message:-
"Run-Time Error '2105' You can't go to the specified record."
If I debug the error it shows:-

In an effort to make sure the original time sheet form load worked ok on the original tables, I changed the query to feed off tables in the local Access program and have no issues. It works perfectly. Also if I open the Timesheet Query that feeds the form I can add new records.However if I change the Query to look at the same tables on the SQL database I cannot add records. I can search all records from first to last but not add a record into the query. The add record arrow is greyed out on the query results.

I get error,it seems '&' is wrong.

How do you find the maximum of four fields in each record of a query. Say (for example) you have daily records of the rainfall across four cities, where the cities are the fields in the query. how do you write an extra calculated field to the query that shows the max. rainfall across the fields on a paticular day.

hello, i am super duper new... and am working on a school assignment for weeks! its due tomorrow but i cant get this one rule to work... please help if you can!!
Basically I am trying to add a validation rule to a field refering to a different field in a different table.
Both fields are Date/Time type

I am completely new to Access, so thanks to anyone who does not think my questions are dumb :)
Ok, say for example I have a table that has my income information and my tax rate and I want to compute the income tax I need to pay by simply modifying total income with tax rate, how should I do it? there does not seem to be a function like formular bar in Excel in Access.

Recently I have started working for one of the company where I have to deal with one of the access file. this file has lots of tables containing many fields.
My question is
How can I get all the tables name, their fields and attributes in Microsoft Word file. I have tried opening table > design view and copy text but it doesn't work. also tries coping table and paste in in word file but it takes ages
any suggestion will be helpful

Hi I have a forrm (Orders) , with a subform (Order Details)
Depending on a selection of a list field it makes certain field visible in the subform.
If I go the next record and select the list field it updates fields in the subform ( Visible ( True or False )
But if I go back to the previousl record it doesnt update the fields that are relavent to the option picked in the List Filed ( Which I have set to after update ). It works fine if I re-select the option in the list field
How do I set it to update the subform field automatically as I scroll through records?
I tried OnCurrent property but I dont think this is the correct one.

I am trying to change the button color on a subform if a related form data changes.Main form is products with a continuous subform with serial numbers of products i.e, serial number, location, price and a button to add addtional issues if there are any for this particular serial number (this will open up another form related to the serial number so I can add an issues if there are any).The reason I would like the button to be a different color is so I can quickly see if there are any additional notes been added to the serial number. Just in case you may ask why not add the field to the continuos form is that the issues and be quite lengthy and there may be lots of serial numbers on the form

We sometimes make an error in entering a stock code and have to change the code.
Our main table is = Investments01_tbl
Other tables that use the same stock codes from the above table are
= Alerts_Stocks
= Investments01_tbl_SubForm
The table = Investments01_tbl_SubForm = can contain the same stock code many times.How can we create a query that can be used to enable us to change the stock codes in the 3 tables at the same time?

I came into a database where the forms have checkboxes connected to table fields that are in text data type. I see that when the checkbox is checked, the value in the field is still -1 in the table. Is there a reason to change these fields to Yes/No data type or just keep them as they are? Are there limitations or problems to having Yes/No values (-1) in a text field?

I am trying to change the name of a field in a table. When I hit save, it gives me the error:"Could not find field 'originalFieldName'"..I hit OK and it says: "Errors were encountered during the save operation. Properties were not updated."
There are no queries, forms, reports, or relationships shown on the relationships tab. The other fields in the table have drop-down menus of values stored in other tables, but not this field. It just has values I entered in it manually.Why can't I change the name of the field? I have Access 2007.

I have a massive database...100,000 records (well, it seems massive to me right now!).
A part of each record is a hyperlink to a PDF document on the server. I didn't map a drive letter for the path, as everything I've researched has said to not use drive letters but the actual server name and the path.
I did that. Unfortunately, they had an issue with the server a couple of weeks ago...and in mapping it again, they added another layer of folders on the way to the location of these PDFs.
Now I have to go in and edit each individual hyperlink to reflect the new path.
1. Is there a faster way to do this? They want their first report half an hour ago.
2. They have a whole new set of these PDFs to be attached to the records that don't have them yet. Is there a faster way to do it than to have to open each record and put in the path to the document?

I have heaps of Linked Tables and the main data bases are in My Documents.
My Documents is also the shared name but I need to change it to MyDocuments as the space fouls up some other stuff.
I have a feeling I will need to delete all the linked tables and do it again.:D

I'm in datasheet design view and I'm trying to change the data type of a cell and add a lookup. When I try to change the datatype I get an error which says I need to remove a relationship first - except I did. I deleted all the relationships, saved and closed the relationship view and closed and reopened the table.

When I originally created my access database, I used a text field/column to connect 2 tables together. I would like to change this to reference the Primary Key/ID column instead of the text field.
Is there an easy way to go about doing this? My original thought was to create some vba code to replace the data in the column of the sub table with the autonumber in the primary table but I cannot figure out how to do it.

I am creating a database that tracks the selling of products amongst other things.
The user will enter in an order and may delay invoicing until the customer approves the quote - at which time the order is turned into an invoice.
In the transactions table the OrderID, ProductID and CustomerID constitute a composite key.
I want to be able to view the order and change it by either deleting or adding ordered items (obviously prior to invoicing) but because the ProductID is part of the composite key I cannot delete a line item.
Perhaps the solution is to remove ProductID from the index or is there a better way?

I have a table that contains many column but one of the columns is the "Collected Date". the dates entered in this column in in this format: 2013.10.28 however I to upload this table in another software to analyse, I need the date to be in this format: 10/28/2013 I already tried changing the format in the design view but since the format is currently in text it does not allow me to change the format into date!

How to control the below message to something like this through VBA:
"The Job: " & JobNumber & " already exists in the table." or to open an alternate form where they can make the change. Allowing duplicates is not appropriate for what I am trying to accomplish. I just want a friendly way of rerouting a user to understandable answer.
instead of this:
"The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again."

I am importing data from a sharepoint list on to Access 2007, as linked data where any changes I make on Access is made to the list and vice versa. However, I recently made a change to one of the column types and this change is not being made on Access. I have changed a column type from choice to single line of text but I still see the list of choices when I access the list on Access 2007.
I have refreshed the list by right clicking the linked list and pressing refresh list. The list is set to not cache the list and is not set to work offline so cannot see why the change is not being made. I don't want to mess with the list be removing it and re-adding it as I have multiple queries set up which are being fed in to an excel file I use to create reports from the data. I have no knowledge of VBA, so there is none of that being used on Access.
