Not Show New Record Fields In A Form.
Jul 26, 2005I have a form that is just a display/edit type form and I don't want a blank "new" report to show at the bottom when it is opened up. Is there any way to turn this off or disable it?

Nov 14, 2014I need a solution for the following problem:
For example:
............F1 F2 F3
Rec1 ....4 ..2 ..5
Rec2 ....3 ..3 ..1
Rec3 ....1 ..2 ..1
Now, I want to know how many 1s are there in Rec3 the answer is obviously 2 but I want a field(F4, for e.g) that calculates F1+F2+F3 showing all their 1s 2s and 3s.
A solution I found was...... F4=IIf([F1],1,0)+IIf([F2],1,0)+IIf([F3],1,0)
But I have over 50 Fields that contain 1s and 2s and I can't count them all by using this formula as it will be tremendously long and access will reject it.
So I need another formula(or function) that will look up for the 1s across multiple fields and show the total count for each record in a new field.
Tried 'look up' function but achieved nothing ....

Jan 26, 2015i want to be able to create an On Click Event when pushing a command button that will run an Update query to update a record and after it has been updated that specific record will pop up on a Form and be displayed. i know a different way is to run the Update query and then have it displayed in a Select query but i want it to be displayed on a Form instead. is it possible?

Aug 23, 2006i'm a begginer at access, so please excuse me if this question is very basic.
i have a multiple table select query which shows me which user has which piece of a equipment at that given time.
I also have a form that logs any problems the users have with the equipment, what i want that form to do is show the results of the query based on inputting the users name. ie put the serial number and model number into the relevent fileds on the form.
I can get the form to run the query but that just shows it in the query window, i need it to show on the correct feilds on the form.
Hope that makes sense and that somebody can help me.

Apr 17, 2014I have form that is tied to a query. When I enter criteria that matches what i have in the table, it returns the infromation on another form fine.
However, if there is no data for the criteria I am entering, I get a blank form. Is there anyway to have the fields of the form show even when there is no data?
How To Show Extra Fields In A Form If A Value Is Selected
Nov 30, 2011I'm using Access 2003 (with Windows XP).
I'm intending to make two extra fields open up if a particular value is selected. Just as a simple example:
Field: Type of Item
Possible Values: Alcohol, Beverage, Cutlery
So if either a beverage or alcohol is selected, I would like a new field to open up. For both Alcohol and Beverage, I would like "Content of bottle in mLs" to open up. For Alcohol, I would also like "Percentage Alcohol content" to also open up.
So basically, if a specific value is selected, I would like extra fields to come up. I'm not sure if there's any simple way to do it, or whether it requires VBA coding, but either way if it is possible I would like it to be done.
1) How do you make an input mask enter from right to left? For example, if post codes can either be 4 or 5 digits long, I put 90000 (requiring at LEAST 4 digits) but if you start entering data, it starts from the 9. Would it work if I did 00009?
2) Is there any way to make a form go through a progression of screens rather than all the input fields being on the one page?
Queries :: Form To Select Which Fields Show In Query
Oct 8, 2013 I want to create form with 10 checkbox, each checkbox is linked to a field "name, Address, TelephoneNumber, BuissinessName" I would like to know if it is possible for the user to check the box and then the field will show in query. if only name is check then only name will show in the query.
I have tried using [Forms]![Formname]![CheckboxName] as criteria but this didn't work it when I had more then one checkbox and when the one check box was not checked nothing showed in the forms.
Forms :: Expandable Form Option - Show More Fields
Jul 28, 2014I have a form that I want to expand to show more fields depending on whether a user decides to or not.
Basically there will be 5 fields that a user always completes for this form, however depending on whether they answer yes or no on the final field I want it to expand the form and have some further fields that need completing.
If they select yes it should expand, if they select no then the form is complete.
What are some possible ways of achieving this?

The form has the following fields populated from the main table
Customer name (Can appear more than once)
Status
Date
Servers
Positions
In addition it has several buttons for next record, previous record, first & last record, new record, delete record and update record.On this form i have a text box that i want to be able to use to search for a record using the customer name when you press the search button associated with it. I've got some code and it is mostly working but it seems to be moving the text entry cursor to the date box of the record for some reason.
What I want it to do is take the text from the search box and find it and move the form to that record.

Forms :: Open Form And Show First Record In A List

The listbox is filtered and I get the redords that I waqnt from the table.My problem is that when I open the form the record that is showing is one from the table but not one that is in my listbox. I want it to show the first record in the listbox...This is the command I have on open:

Feb 26, 2014I created a form for data entry only where records could be continually added until you were done and closed the form. Into that form I dropped a query that kept a running list in datasheet form of all the new records entered while the form was open, and then cleared when the form was closed (so the query was empty when the form was opened again).
My Problem: I accidentally deleted that query.
What I need:
-Query to be empty when form is opened.
-Records added while form is open get displayed in the query after record is saved.
Subform In A Form Doesn Show Controls When Link Child And Master Fields Derfined

I have a form and a subform in MS Access 2003. I have made some changes to database structure, so I decided to change the subform also. When I changed the Link child and link master fields, the controls of the subdatasheet dissapear- they show only in design view. If I clear the contents of Link child and link master fields they appear again, but the records are not binded.
Is there a setting on the parent form that also has to be changed, to make the new binding?

I have a query that runs from the main form when the command button is clicked. It displays the results in datasheet view. I want the user to double click a specific record and jump to that specific record in the main form. How do I do this? Sorry, if this is a dumb question. Please help, my boss is breathing down my neck. :eek: The main form is called Contracts. Each record has a unique ID.

Nov 24, 2014I am building a Inventory Management Application for Tyre Shop. I have SaleMainTbl and SaleDetailTbl both used for preparing daily sale summary. I have Mainform based on SaleMainTbl with TxnDate and Total Amount (Sale) and the TxnDate is in one to many relation with SaleDetailTbl. FormSaleDetail is multiple row(continuous) form that makes billwise summary of each day having -TxnDate--BillNo--ItemSold--Company--Qunatity--Rate--Amount fields. I have inserted this form in FormSaleMainTbl.
So FormSaleMainTbl is Main form and FormSaleDetail is subform. TxnDate in FormSaleDetailTbl is automatically taken from SaleMainForm. I have further added text boxes in Main Form to show company wise sale for each day for which there is a query build one for each company that takes the currently loaded date from FormSaleDetail and calculates the Sale (Sum) of each brand (Company) of Tyres. All these objects are working very fine. However I have to close the MainForm and reopen it for result of query to appear in the appropriate text box in Main form.
Is there way to do this as soon as record is entered or at least at the end of completing the entry of each days sale transactions without closing the form. So the gist of the problem is realtime display of query result in text box on a form or updating the form screen immediately on updating any record or at the most after completing the updating of form but without having to close the form.
Forms :: When Clicked Form Opens To Blank Record And Won't Show Previous Records
May 6, 2015I've recently decided to move a database that had all its information on 1 table and divided it into multiple tables.
Attached is the relationship as well as the form.
The issue I have is that when I click the form, it only shows a blank record with none of previous records.
Data entry is already set to NO. I'm wondering if it's an issue with my relationships, tblStudioDescription is the parent table and the others are child tables so I linked them with the ID and set referential integrity.

The underlined part (acCmdRecordsGoToNew) is false part of this code, because it copies the Adress Info to a new record, instead of copying it in the same.
-Is there someone that can help me with this problem, to make the copy-button in the Form run properly?
-Are there other options to achieve te same?

Locking Fields For One Record On A Continuous Form

Ive written the following code to an onclick event for a check box labeled "assigned" on my form, the problem is it executes on all the records in my form.

Feb 23, 2015I have a table with a 3-part primary key. Have a form with 3 unbound controls corresponding to the 3-part table key.
After the 3 form fields have been entered, I want to search the table to see if a record with the same 3 fields on the table exists. If it does I want to go to another form to enter data for a related table carrying forward the 3 key fields.
If it doesn't I want to go to a different form to keep the 3 fields already entered from form 1 and add additional fields to complete the record.

Aug 17, 2005I have a query with the fields employee_name, shiftname, shiftdate and have set it up so that 2 input messages boxes popup allowing the user to input a shiftname (a,b,c) then a shiftdate. from this query i have created a form, but instead of having 2 message boxes popup on screen before the form is loaded is it possible to have 2 input fields on the form (one for shift date & one for shiftname) that allows the user to enter into these fileds whenever they wish provided the form is open and all the records bellow change matching the employee name with the corresponding shiftname & date?, any advice would be great.
