Object Window Visible When Creating An .mde
Jan 13, 2006I have created an .mde but the Object window is still visible i.e Tables/Queries/Reports etc.
How can I remove this so the user only see the Forms view?

Reports :: Setting Object To Visible When Using OutputTo Method
Jul 28, 2014I have a series of reports that are built to replicate the order forms of our suppliers. On each I have a text box for Air Freight that I only want visible when the airfreight ID is ticked.
I have this working fine using an if statement on the Load Event of the reports. However when I use the OutputTo command in VBA it seems to bypass the Load Event. Any event that is triggered using OutputTo.
I have also tried setting the .visible in VBA but can't get the coding to work as I am using a variable report name depending on the SupplierName and when I try to use the Reports! nomenclature it will not accept the Report name being a variable (ie. Reports!ReportName![Airfreight].Visible where ReportName is a variable).
Modules & VBA :: Creating And Initializing Custom Class / Object
Jun 13, 2013I've been playing around with creating my own class in VBA but I'm having problems calling its methods. My class is pretty basic, its called cDentist and the properties are just Name, Address, DOB etc and one method AddDentist. AddDentist will add the details to a sql server table.
So I create an instance of the class in a module called Dentist. At the very top of the code i put..

When I click 'Save' I get error, Method or data member not found. And '.AddDentist' is highlighted. I'm a little confused why it's not seeing AddDentist as a method of class cDentist.
Forms :: Creating New Record In Subform - Button To Add New Object To Main Job
Jul 1, 2013What i'm trying to do is add a new record to a subform. The problem is, I couldn't use a subform based on a table in order to achieve this. I needed extended information for it to be useful, so I made the visible part of the subform based on a query instead.I'd like to add a button that adds a new object to the main job. I'd like the adding of that button to call a new form allows you to fill in the information for that object (this called form actually contains 5 subforms to populate all the data of the object). That form works.
What I need is for the button to call the 2nd detailed form AND create the necessary entries in the project/object junction table.The idea as it is now is a button on the main form, but if it was possible to do so via continuous form in a subform, that's doable.
Forms :: Visible / Non-visible Combobox - Column Attribute?
Oct 17, 2013I have a combobox on my form called TypeOfBusiness, with fields including Corporation, Education, Industry, Non-Profit. In order to make a second combobox called IndustryClassification appear when Industry is selected from the TypeOfBusiness combobox, I have used the following code:

It works just fine. However, when a user selects both, say, Industry and Education, the IndustryClassification combobox will not appear. What code I can use to ensure the IndustryClassification box will appear regardless if another box is checked in addition to Industry? I am wondering if it has to do with the Column attribute.
Modules & VBA :: Make Controls Visible Or Not Visible?
Mar 24, 2015I have a Main Form with a Sub-Form, the sub-form is base off a query. on the sub-form i have 8 controls, one of them is "Status' and "Process" and "Review" My Main Form have a Refresh command that refreshes the data in the sub-form.
What i am trying to do is make the "Process" Control only visible is "Status" is a certain status and "Review" visible if "Status" is something else. what i have done works correctly On Open. I run into and issue on the refresh command. I get Run-time error '2165' "You can't hide a control that has the focus"

Help: Pass Argument From Child Window To Parent Window?

I have a parent window which upon clicking on a button will pop-up a child window containing a listbox. The listbox recordsource is a subset of the parent window. I want the user to select a record from the listbox which will load the selected record onto the parent window.
How does one pass argument back from child window to parent window?

Visible.Enabled Remaining Visible!
Sep 12, 2004I have a form with four subforms set up in a tabs on the form. In the subforms I have a copuple of command buttons which enable/make visible fields when they are clicked (see previous posts but for eg) - if a height and a weight are added in two separate boxes a calculation is done and then a command button pressed to make visible the (label) which shows the mass index the patient falls into. My problem is that the label is then retained so if I click out of the form and re-enter with a new patient then the height and weight boxes are clear but the label from the previous patient remains.
I tried to put the code

Object Library Not Registered/ActiveX Component Can't Create Object

I am using Access 2003(11.6355.6360) SPI
When I attempt to create a new DB - by performing Blank Database I immediately get a message 'Object Library not registered'.
If I 'OK' that box and try to create a table, I can do so - create Table in design view.
When I then try to Import external data - an excel file I get the message 'ActiveX component Can't create object'.
I have looked ob various sites for help and forum information regarding these errors but have found nothing conclusive, with specidfic regard to Access 2003.
The version has been loaded on my machine about 1 year as part pf Office Professional but this is the first time I have attempted to run Access itself.
Does any forum member have any ideas as to how this problem could be resolved.

Forms :: Object Doesn't Contain Automation Object Table Name
Jan 5, 2015I am currently building a database for the company I work for that is fairly similar to the Northwind Database; however it is made from scratch so hopefully some of the common problems with that database won't find their way into mine.My problem is that when I go to my Orders form, I pick a customer from the main form, which creates a record on the Orders table. When I then go to the subform to choose a product/line item, I get the error in my title ("The LinkMasterFields property setting has produced this error: 'The object doesn't contain the Automation object 'OrdersT.") as soon as a product is chosen from the drop down list.

Then it also gives me the same one on another table.
I think it has something to do with the link master/child fields. I've tried all kinds of relationships with the three tables and can't figure it out.
I've tried uploading the database here but it won't. It's on my Sky Drive.

The object doesn't contain the automation object 'ClientID.'You tried to run a visual basic procedure to set a property or method for an object. However, the component doesn't make the property or method available for Automation operations.
Check the components documentation for information on the properties and methods it makes available for automation operations.
This happens when I start entering data in the field "productname" of a subform.
So I'm assuming something in the form or in the code of the form is referring to ClientID. but I've checked it, and there is nothing referring to it anymore. Well, at least as far as I'm aware of.
This afternoon access crashed without any error, it just closed. Upon reopening the DB again, all my work of the past one and a half week was gone. Normally I always backup the data, but these past days I didn't due to christmas and still working a lot too. So I forgot.
I did some redesigning in the process this evening, deleting and adding some fields and code.
I can't get rid of this error. Can anyone help? Or point me in the right direction?
Also the DB is 3.5MB in size. While it is completely empty. And I can't imagine that some empty tables, queries, forms and a bit of code can be so much. But that's for a later time to worry about I guess, unless one of you says: this and that, maybe that works... Otherwise, I would really be very glad already if the error disappears....

Forms Are Opening In Same Window / How To Open Forms In Different Window
Oct 21, 2013My application is developed in Access 2003 version. Recently we moved from Access 2003 to Access 2010. Now users are facing usability issues like - in Access 2003 all the forms are opening in different windows and they can move to forms easily. But in Access 2010 all the Forms are opening in same window, if they want to move to different forms then they need to close the current window or press ctrl+F6. How can I enable/open forms multiple window in Access 2010.

Sep 7, 2005This might sound simple to everyone, but it won't work for me. I have a text box on my form that holds the current date, there are also other text boxes that hold other information. Here's what I'm trying to do, if the other text boxes are empty then I want the date text box to be invisible. Here's the code I'm trying to use:

Aug 16, 2005In my form, I have a combo box with one of three options (cash, check, reimbursement). If the user chooses check, I want a text box to become visible, so the user may input the check number.
I thought I could use another invisible text box to store the value of the combo box and then in the code put:

Feb 26, 2006Hello. In my table there is a checkbox column. This box is checked on a form which feeds the table. I run reports from queries which contain both checked results as well as unchecked results. Is it possible for on the report, for the text (the field name, not the checkbox) to only appear when the box is checked? I hope I'm explaining this properly. I want the checkbox title to only appear on the report when the box is checked, otherwise I don't want it visible.

I have a form with several controls. NAME, DOB and AGE.
NAME and DOB have a source to a table while AGE is unbound.
I would like a code that when opening the form, will show the age only if the DOB contains data.
Basically something like this:

Me!Age.forecolor = VBWhite 'this hides the data)

Visible Data With If/Then

I have a form with twa txtboxes named mytxt and txtresult.
The txtresult gets its data from a module (GetInterval).
I have written this statement:
If IsNull (Me.mytxt) then
Me.txtresult) = Null
I get an error as if that control cannot contain null values.
I have done the same with another sample, simply changing the record source of my txtresult to a field of my table and works?
can anyone see the problem?
I have also tried in with this code but still nothing:
