I need help on figuring out how to e-mail a specific record from a table through a form. What I have is a table that houses information that some of my call specialists populate as they are speaking with the customer. What I want to happen is when they hit the control button "E-mail this call" it pops up with an e-mail and asks for recipient. So far I got it to do this with entire tables/forms/queries/reports; It imports it into an excel spreadsheet and attaches it to an e-mail, which is cool. But, what I need to happen is that it only takes the specific Record that they entered and email it on.
I am pulling my hair out there trying to figure out how to do this. Any ideas?
I would like to have a button on a form, against each record that has been entered onto the form and once the button has been clicked on, an e-mail would be automatically be generated with the contents of particular fields and automatically sent to a pre designated e-mail address.
Is this possible, if so and help would be most appreciated.
I have been searching the forums about how to send an email using a mail merge Word document with attachments and have not found a way to accomplish this. There are numerous posts on haw to send email using the SendObject function with attachments but I really need to use a Word mail merge to satisfy the requirements set forth by my superiors.
The database uses a query to pull the list of recipients. The query contains the name, email address and a few other informational items that need to be put in mail merge. I also need to attach a second 5 page Word document. At this point, I don’t care if I have to deal with the Outlook security or not, I only have about 20 a day to send but if there is a way to get around it, that would be cool.
Would it be possible to create a Report that looks the same as the mail merge document and send it to each of the recipients from the query and attach the document to that email?
I am running up against a deadline that is fast approaching and any help would be greatly appreciated.:(
I've got one of my users which has just started getting the "Can't send this e-mail message" error. Found reference to it being trying to send an email without editing (MS article 884998. My editmessage is set to yes so I know it is not this exact problem but just wondering if anyone else had has this type of issue before and could they get around it?
I tried searching but with such common words it wouldn't return any results.
I am trying to send an MS Access 'report' as an attachment to a mail recipient in rtf format without success. Everything seems to work fine except the 'send' button. Click away and nothing happens.... no error messages, no nothing. Any suggestions or tips on how to make this work?
Could you please help me and advise if it's possible to send report from MS Access by mail - having report as a content of an e-mail instead of attachement?
I'm working on a Word mail merge feature that links to an Access Database and would like to know if you can insert specific fields into the mail merge to refine the terms? example below:
<<Customer Name, [field 2]>> - Or something to that effect.
^The mail merge would know where to obtain the customer name from anyway, but will it select information from the field that is being referenced?
I'm trying to send at report based on a Query from a specific form.
Everything is (almost) working fine, except the fact that I can't get a criteria into DoCmd.SendObject method.
My code is:
Private Sub Kommandoknap212_Click() On Error GoTo MailTilGodkendelse_Err DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, 5, , acMenuVer70 Dim MailAtt As String Dim intSearch As String
Hi, this is probably a very easy question for you “Access-gods” out there.
I’ve made a database (MS Access 2000) with all my clients. I collect a lot of contact info, including e-mail.
I want to make a function which opens a new mail window (Outlook 2003) and automatically puts in the e-mail from my form (In the send-to field of outlook).
at present i have an order form. this form has a id number and supplier field . at the moment a macro runs a report which produces the order. the macro does ask me for the order number. the order number is the id number, what i would like to do is get a macro that looks at the id field and supplier field, fetch the e-mail address from the supplier table and send the order to the e-mail address
I want to hyperlink from a query direct to the relevant record in a specific form. I have a hyperlink field in the form which shows up in the query. When clicked in the query, this hyperlinks to the form but I cannot make it select the correct record in the form. How do I get it to select the correct record?
Hello, I have just spent ages doing searches and reading everything I can on locking. But, I have yet to find an answer as to how I can lock a specific field in a specific record.
e.g. Staff enter customer details, then at the end of the day the admin (me) checks it over and presses a big old button that stops them from locking certain fields in the current record only - they must still have access to the unlocked fields of the current record, and it must not lock any other records.
I'm guessing there's some VB code in the form of fieldname.lock = true, but then it locks the field throughout the whole table!
I have a database that I can use to create a query, grouping companies by city. I then want to send a specific email I have created in outlook to all of the email addresses in the query.I do not need to include names.
Hi, Is there a way to merge only the current record to Word? I was going to have access create a temp table to merge, but then realised that would stuff up my autoref numbers (which I need).
I will only be merging one record at a time, and would love to hear any advice.
I don't know VB so other instructions (or VB for dummy instructions) would be most useful.
I am having issues with MS Word mail merge. Issue is i am selecting the recepient list from access database. then i filter the list as per my need and send emails. But filter is not working properly. It is sending email to all the of records not to only selected ones. Can it be any issue with MS Access?
I am new to access i have a problem which is i have made a form which contains a subform and a read only subreport, what i want is the ability to select a record in read only subreport as in the picture attached and make a button that when i press on it, it should copy the values of the itemsID field, Packing field, ContainerNo field and origin field from the selected record and then paste them in the subform below.
Also i want to add more then one item, so the when i press on another record it should paste the values below the first record.
I have an access .adp project which is linked to a sql server tables (2008 r2), I have a button on an access form which I click and successfully gets customer details based on a query. What I wanted to know is when I am viewing a specific record i.e. details for Patient Number X, when I click on a mail merge button from their record form can the mail merge document only open with their details not all customers?
I have tried to delve into vba and modules to acheive this but I am a newbie.
I have a situation where two clients will be using the same database design - one of them will be sending information from his database for the other client to add to their database.
This will be on a record by record basis. The form that has the info entered into it also has a subform.
How do I export a single record between databases that have the same fields? I know how to export a table, but not a single record. The fact that the record that needs to be sent is from two tables (ie the main form and the subform that collects the data for those tables) further complicates things for me. Any ideas?
Private Sub jobdatebox_GotFocus() Dim dteFormDate As Date dteFormDate = CDate(InputBox("Enter the date:", "Date Entry")) Me.jobdatebox.SetFocus Me.jobdatebox.Text = dteFormDate
the above code pops up an alert and asks the user to enter a date. this value is then stored in the jobdatebox control (jobdate field)
the jobdate field is a Date/Time datatype and is the first item on my form so when the form opens this pop up appears instantly (which is fine)
they enter a date as the following: 6 6 and it displays as 06/06/2006
my user tabs through the fields, inserting a record.. when they reach the last field.. and tab again (to enter another record)
the pop up alert appears again..i dont want this.. i only want it to pop up the first time (when the form is opened) and then just keep that value in the jobdatebox for the remainder of the form's open session
i need something that does the following..
on new record creation jobdatebox.value = dteFormDate (the value entered previously)
OR
Private Sub jobdatebox_GotFocus() Dim dteFormDate As Date dteFormDate = CDate(InputBox("Enter the date:", "Date Entry")) Me.jobdatebox.SetFocus Me.jobdatebox.Text = dteFormDate for all records entered until form closes
OR
just before new record is created if jobdatebox = not null (has a date value inside already) then newrecord.jobdatebox = previous record jobdatebox.value
OK - bit of a newbie here & maybe this question has been asked a thousand times but i can't find any answers that cover this question properly.
Basically i am writing an access database that stores contract information, contact details, orders etc etc. I want to take the Order Number field, along with the Client Name & Address etc and post it into a Word Mail Merge type document, then save that file as ordernumber.doc after checking to see whether it already exists.
I have successfully managed to send the information into word in a mail merge document & get it to save the file using the ordernumber.doc format, however it is saving it to mydocuments folder and i want it in a subfolder called orders (that does exist). It is also not checking to see if that file already exist and overwrites it if it does.
I want to change the path to where the file is being saved, check whether it exists already, then ask me whether i want to overwrite it or save as something else.
Any help would be most appreciated. BTW I am using Word & Access 2003.

I would like to be able to place a button on my invoice form that will allow me to e-mail the individual invoice to the person being billed (the e-mail address is included on the form). I created a macro that works to send a PDF file of all of the records and I am having trouble figuring out how to send just the current record. I would also like to have the e-mail address automatically populated based on the e-mail address on the current record.

I have a continuous form for which the recordsource is a query that retrieves dates from 10 days in the past to 10 days in the present. I want the record with today's date to be at the top of the form. The record with the oldest date is always on top. Is this a scrolling issue? How can I get the record with today's date to appear on top?
