I once used a program, when you click this .mdb file, it opens a main Form interface that user can run programs such as view report etc. That is, all tables, querys reports, other forms are behind the sence (user does not need to know them).
Could anyone tell me how to do this? Thank you for yoru help.
I have been reading a lot about Access Runtime and the problems that occur when a runtime application is installed on a machine that already has a full version of Access. Any program that can be used to create an .EXE type file for an access application that will eliminate all of these problems? The cost of the compiler program is not a major concern if it works!!!
I have an application which needs to be embeded in a form. The reason for this is that we need other details in addtion to what the application.exe can perform. When a user loads a form the application needs to start up within ACCESS form.
I have a series of 7 separate Access 2010 programs that are designed to run under the control of a scheduler, and they must always finish. Errors are trapped and logged but mustn't stop the processes completing.
What I'm trying to do now is to create a single master control program that runs each individual application, one after the other, in order. And each individual app cannot start until the previous one is finished.how to call a separate Access program and know when it has finished.
Im trying to open my database switchboard without having the whole Access program open. Is there a way to have only the database open without the whole program? Thanks
I have a fully operational Visual Basic program that uses MS Office XP and it's related MS Access. Because of security concerns, I recently upgraded to MS Office 2007 and MS Access 2007. I can open MS Access 2007 using the shortcut on the desktop and run any of the database queries. When I try to run the Visual Basic program (called prjPathfinder) and open Access 2007, it says "Error 5: The type initializer for prjPathfinder.Upgrade Support threw an exception". It then shows the first form in prjPathfinder but does not open Access 2007. What am I missing?
I am attempting to create a Macro that will export the COMPLAINT table to an Excel Spreadsheet. However Excel does not open and I am prompted to select the Program I want to use. What am I doing wrong?
In the initial Form_Open code there is a string that fails before the form is open, preventing me from opening the form and accessing the VBA code to correct the problem. How can I access the VBA code to correct the problem if it otherwise prevents me from opening the form so I can access the VBA code?
On a form I have a listbox that allows me to navigate around my records. The listbox is filtered and I get the redords that I waqnt from the table. My problem is that when I open the form the record that is showing is one from the table but not one that is in my listbox. I want it to show the first record in the listbox...This is the command I have on open:
Code: DoCmd.GoToRecord , "", acFirst
which is where the fault lies, but I dont know what I should put in its place. The list is List273 and the form is frm_Profile
I have a shared 2000 db and for the last few days someone has been leaving it open. In '97 you could open the .ldb file and see who it was, is there a way to find out in 2000?
Also, I have seen something on remotely removing users who leave the application open but can't find it now. Does anyone know how this is done? The data must be refeshed daily and hasn't been for the last four days due to this lock.
I need to open an application when user clicks a command button...From this forum I have learnt that I can use SHELL command..but when I use this command to open an application, it opens a new instance of the application everytime...Can I bring the application to the foreground if it was already open?
I have a form and this form shows some values from one table. One of the fields named as Key. I want to open another form and show the record that has the same value as Key.
I am able to make this with filter but the form opens and when the user navigates the record, it creates a duplicate value in related table.
I want to open form and find specific data to display and then stop at this record.
Please help. When trying to launch MS Access 2000 I get an error: " Can't find the database you specified, or you didn't specify a database at all. Specify a valid database name in the command line, and include a path if necessary." When I try to open a valid Access file, the application simply doesn't display anything. Please help to fix the problem. Thanks
I have a main form [Job Quote Form 10-2205] and I am trying to add a command button to open up [Job Process Form-MKD] and have the [Job Process Form-MKD] open up and only show the records that match a certain field, in this case what I call "JobTrackNo" in the [Job Process Form-MKD]. (see attached .jpg)
This problem started to happen only recently, namely you will see that the left column under [Job Quote Form 10-2205] is blank, where normally there had been a number of fields to choose from. The fields are all still available, they are just not opening when I try to match two fields.
I have a report that tracks scores for our employees. From the report, you can click a button to add a new score in a form or edit an existing score(frmscoretracker). On this form there are two subforms, in a tabbed control to track additional information about the score; what areas were marked down(Trends), and was it a failing score(AutoFail).
When this form opens I have it programmed to only show the subform if there is data in it. The goal being, if I am adding a new score and there is no existing trends or Autofails for this new record, neither subforms will show - I will add an after update even to show either trends or autofail depending on the score recorded. Also, if someone chooses to edit the score, whatever subform with data, will show as well.
When someone clicks to add a new score, opening this main form to a new record, both of the tabs show. However, if the form opens to an existing record, the appropriate tab shows. Here is the code
Code:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) 'If the subform has a record, the tab is visible, if not, the tab is not visible If Me.frmtrends.Form.Recordset.RecordCount > 0 Or IsNull(Me.Trends) Then Me.Trends.Visible = True Me.TabCtl33.Visible = True Else Me.Trends.Visible = False End If
[code]...
Both tabs are set as not visible in the default settings. Is there something in this code that is triggering then to be visible when there is no record in the main form?
I am trying to open a MS Access Database which was made in MS Access 1997 or MS Access 2000, at the moment i am using MS Access 2010, i cannot open the database or link the tables.i do not have MS Access 2000 anymore.
There are around 100 customers. And on application open, need to check if customer has paid invoice. If the customer has paid/not paid need to change the status accordingly. Form on open event changes status of only the first customer.Form on current changes status only if we move to the specific record. Is there an event to trigger to check the entire table records on application open?
I am designing an application in Access 2003 and it's pretty much working now.
I have a main form set to automatically open (through database startup).
sometimes, access disappears before even showing the form. The ldb file remains in the folder and access does not show up in Tasks (so it's really terminated).
I do have On_Load event code in the form, but nothing drastic and I went through and made sure that all subs have Error Handlers.
It doesn't give me any error messages, just disappears. This also happens when I try opening the main form from the open Access app, but not as often.
Usually, if I open by holding Shift, enter the form in Design view and close it, it then opens no problem.
Any ideas? I searched and googled, but to no avail.
I would like to place a button on a form that maps to a program on a user's computer. For example, the button says PROGRAM and then the user clicks on the button and it opens an executable located at c:PROGRAMprogram.exe
I am assuming that I can do that with access, but how?
it is possible to Open access application like desk application done with java or vb, or install access application as exe or similar methods. My requirements is to giving a access application to customer with data base for printing an invoice. when he running the aplication he can see access open and tables, queries forms left hand. how to hide these thing ?
I wrote a vba program which I couldnt get to work correctly, so I redid the whole thing in java and now I get the output I'm supposed to get. I'm wondering now if I can execute this java program from a button on my forum in access? and how should I do this if this is possible?
