Forms :: Populate Subform Field When Open With A Subform Field

Sep 4, 2014

I have a form called frm002_PAF_MonitoringMAIN and on this form I have a subform called frm002_PAF_Monitoring. The subform has a button to another form for contact details called Contact_Details. The Contact_Details form opens with the details of the person who I have selected on frm002_PAF_Monitoring. There are some fields on frm002_PAF_Monitoring that I would like to be populated on Contact_Details when opened, like FirstName and LastName. How can I do it?I have tried on afterupdate event on Contact_Details below but those don't work:

Me![FirstName].Value=[Forms]![frm002_PAF_Monitoring]![FirstName]

Modules & VBA :: Check Outlook Is Open Not Working?

May 21, 2014

My application relies on whether Outlook is open and more importantly, with the correct Exchange profile selected. To ensure this I have the following code which, on the work PCs (Windows XP and Office 2003) works correctly.

Code:

If Outlook_is_Running = True Then
Set myOlApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application", "localhost")
Set myNameSpace = myOlApp.GetNamespace("MAPI")
Set colFolders = myNameSpace.Folders
On Error Resume Next

[code]....

The work PCs are being upgraded soon to Windows 7 and Office 2007 so I have taken the application home and started to develop it on my home PC (Windows 8.1 64 and Office 2013 64). I have used PtrSafe where necessary and have compiled with no errors, but this code always returns false even though Outlook 2013 is open.

On further investigation, if I comment out the 'On Error Resume Next line I get the error Active X component cannot create the object (or similar) Error 429. This is the same regardless of whether Outlook is open or not

Modules & VBA :: Button To Open Up Outlook Email

Jun 26, 2014

I would like to create a button that when pressed opens up an outlook email. The email address will be populated by one email address every time. I don't want it to automatically send as the body will need to be filled out by the user. It would be useful if the date and time it was sent could be recorded in the form somewhere too (would this be in a text box?).

Email Current Contact On Form/Open Outlook

Nov 3, 2004

I've researched all the email topics, but can't find what I am trying to do.
Most of these topics are talking about emailing a record or form or something.

I have a form that contains thousands of contacts address, telephone, email, etc.
I would like to create a button that on click would open Outlook and grab ONLY the
email of the current contact I am looking at on the form at that time and add that
email address to the [To:] box of a new email.

Thanks you guys, I'm learning...slowly, but it's coming.

General :: Macro To Email A Form Once Condition Met - Open Outlook From Access

Apr 10, 2013

I have a macro set to email a form to a person once a condition is met. This works fine but I've discovered that Outlook (2010) has to be open BEFORE this macro is invoked.

I wanted to add a step to the macro before the one that makes it email that basically says to open Outlook.

I have tried the RunApplication macro, but I apparently am not getting the path right. I don't understand what the problem is.

I accidentally dragged Outlook to my desktop and therefore created a shortcut from my Start Menu, but now when I go to Microsoft Office in my Start Menu, Microsoft Outlook isn't one of the options. I can't find the path to where it may reside now.

I am using the path to the shortcut on my desktop.

What Have I Done? You Can't Open A Subform When It Is Also Open In Design View

Jun 1, 2006

Problem:
Visual Basic run-time error 7792: You can't open a subform when it is also open in Design view.

I have a subform with properties for SourceObject, LinkMasterFields, LinkChildFields changing according to objects and events in the master form.

The subform was bound to a query before which meant that the subform load event was happening as soon as the master form is loaded. I needed to restrict the subform loading until a certain point so I removed the SourceObject property for the masterform's subform. The subform on the master form is now Unbound.

(This is because I'm now running some code on the FormLoad event for the subform which needs to be restricted until the LinkMasterFields and LinkChild Fields properties have been assigned correctly otherwise it takes ages to load.)

Now I'm getting the above error. Obviously, i do not have the subform open anywhere in design view. No Visual Basic windows are open. I've closed the db, closed access, reopened it and clicked on nothing except the masterform. The error occurs when I raise the event in the master form which assigns the sourceobject property to the subform, i.e.

Me.sfmQryAllOV.SourceObject = "sfmQryAllOV"

Can anyone help me? I've googled this but finding no answers.

Open Subform At Certain Recordset Based On Subform

Feb 5, 2005

I have a main form which has a subform control in it. when the main form is opened the sub form control contains a list of events in a sub form (a summary view), for the person selected in the main form.

I want to change the subform to a different one which shows the whole event when i click in a field on the subform, based on the event i clicked in. ( i can do it by opening a new form but not with a new subform)

I can make the form change using the following code:

Private Sub Notes_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)

Me.Parent.subformhere.SourceObject = "eventsfullrecord"

End Sub

What code do i need to make it open to the record i clicked in the summary form, rather than just opening to the first record every time?

Not very good at passing recordsets

Thank you

Seperate A Imported Field From Outlook

Apr 1, 2008

Hi

I have imported data from Outlook. The field I am interested in is the
'Subject' Field. This contains 3 effective segments,
1 employee name
2 description
3 job and sub job number

example of text in field is

M.Heywood Completed Job No.1708 8
N.Curry Completed Job No.1477

I wish to move the employee name into another field and also the job and sub
job number. I have tried the following Right() Function but it is not quite
working as I want

Right$([Subject],InStr([Subject],"Completed Job No.")-1)

For the records above the results are as follows

No.1708 8
No.1477

What I really want is to only get the text after the .

Any help please as this is my first time with this function

Thanks

Modules & VBA :: Adding Email Address To TO Field In Outlook

May 2, 2014

I have vba code set up to automate a query output to email with outlook. I am having issues with the "TO" field. I have tried different types of code, such as the following:

1) MyMail.To = MailList.Fields("EmailAddress")
2) MyMail.To = MailList.Fields("EmailAddress") & ";"

Both of these work, but the issue I am having is the "TO" field in the outlook message looks like this:
admin@blahblah#mailto:admin@blahblah#

Why my code is adding the email address twice, I need to get rid of the #mailto:admin@blahblah# but I do not know how or why it keeps adding that end part.

Now I have this working when running the form on its own but when I try and run it as a subform it does not work. I am not sure how to adjust the coding to let this happen.

the Main forms name is "MainForm"

Below is my current coding to open the form at a particular record

Private Sub EditProduct_Click()
Dim Msg As String
Dim Title As String
Dim Defvalue As String
Dim Answer As String
Msg = "Enter a Product Name: "
Title = "Open Prouct Form"
Defvalue = ""
Answer = InputBox(Msg, Title, Defvalue)

If Answer <> "" Then
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmProducts", , , "[ProductName]='" & Answer & "' "
Else
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmProducts"
End If
End Sub

Below is my coding to open the form at a new record
