Open A Form Depending On Selection Off List Box

Hi

I have a form, with 2 Combo Box's and a List Box. The Combo Box's provide a search criteria and the results are displayed in the list box [searchList].

I want to be able to double click a record in this List box [searchList] and that will open a from [frm_SearchDisplay] with the selected record from that List Box [searchList]

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Using 2 Combo Boxes - 2nd One List Depending On Selection In First

Hi

I am trying to achieve the following using 2 combo boxes

Box "a" is a list of courses from tbl_training_courses. The user selects the appropriate course.

Box "b" is a list of dates for each course from tbl_course_dates. Thus the user can select which date per course they want to book someone onto, and this value is then stored in tbl_training_record as the date the person is booked onto.

Its not working!!! It either displays blank values, or it starts a parameter query which I didnt want.

In the combo wizard, access refers to "remembering the value selected for later use" - i guess this might be what I need to use, remembering the value from the first and using it to select rows for the 2nd box based on identical courseID - but I can't seem to find this in Help file.

Any ideas anyone?

List Box Populated Depending On Combo Box Selection

I have quite a simple problem I think, but i don't know if I'm able to explain it properly.

I have three tables:

one for contacts
one for the groups contacts are a member of
and a junction table to solve the many to many relationship there.

What I want, is to create a form, with a combo box with a drop down list of groups. When a user selects a group, I'd like all the contacts (including *some* of their fields) to populate the list box below.

So a user can easily view the members of each group.

Does that make sense?

Forms :: Nomination Form - Combobox Selection List Not Updating After Each Selection

I am designing a nomination form (web database so no vba macros can be used).

The form has 3 combo boxes: cboStaffName, cboLevel, cboNominee.

The form is bound to the tblSubmit table where the submissions are populated.

I used a select statement:SELECT Staff_List.Staff_Name FROM Staff_List; to populate the combo box for the Staff Name selection.

This is the select statement to populate the job level combobox:

SELECT Staff_List.Level, Staff_List.Staff_Name FROM Staff_List WHERE (((Staff_List.Staff_Name)=[forms]![frmtest]![cboStaffName]));

The select statement to populate the combobox for the nominee combobox:

SELECT Staff_List.Staff_Name FROM Staff_List WHERE (((Staff_List.Level)=[forms]![frmtest]![cboLevel]));

The problem is that the staff_name in the first combobox is still found in the nominee combobox which should not be because a staff cannot nominate self. There is a field in the Staff_List called YesNo that should be activated for each staff that is selected so that the select statement on the nominee combobox can be updated accordingly to remove items with the field "Active"

How to get the checkbox selected for each corresponding staff.

Sample of the database has been attached.

Open A Form Depending On Conditions

I have a search form, that can be opened by both my "product_enquiry" and my "edit_product" form.

When you select a value on the product search form, i want it to open another form at a specific record.

Easy you might think, but what If i want it to work out which form to open.

So if: A button on Edit product was clicked on to open product search, the value found in product search should be loaded into edit product.

But if it was a button on product enquiry, the record should be opened on the product enquiry form.

Can anyone help?

SIMPLE VBA Open Form Depending On Yes/No Reponse

Can someone please help !!

I have a table with four 'Yes/No' fields.

I have four forms (each form 'relates' to one of the 'Yes/No' fields) and contains additioanl information to be completed.

When I create a new record in my database I tick one, two three or all four of the 'Yes/No' fields.

I would like some VBA code that will automatically open the relevant form (depending on wether the 'Yes/No' box has been ticked) when I click a button.

I have a Table table_clients and a connected table (1-->many) table_invoices.

I have two forms:

form1(table_clients): all clients with subform1(table_invoices): all invoices for every client

the form2 and subform2 are the same, just objects are placed differently on page.

I want when I have opened a record on form1/subform1, to be able to click a button and open form2/subform2 filtered by the invoice_id and the client_id.

I am creating a training database and first I have tables in relationship to the courses:

tbl_Courses
Course ID (Primary Key)
Course Title
Objectives

Instructors (lookup field allowing multiple instructors to be selected, meaning they are skilled to teach the course)

tbl_Instructors
Instructor ID (Primary Key
Last Name
First Name
Full Name (Caluclated to put Last Name, First Name)

What I am trying to do on a form to create a new event is once the user selects the Course from the Course ID combo box, then I need the Instructor combo box to only display the instructors who are skilled to teach the course which are selected in the tbl_Courses.

I can get all Instructor ID's, but not the names and the class that has multiple instructors show on one line.Should I have not put the Instructors field in the tbl_Courses? Do I need another table for instructor skills or something?

List Box Selection Carried To Another Form

I have searched the forum and just can't find an answer. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a main form with a combo box that links to a table called tblSTC. There are however hundreds of records to choose from. To make the serach more simple for the user there is a button next to the combo called 'Search', When the user presses this a new form pops up with a text box and a list box (the list box contains all records in tblSTC). As the user starts to enter text into the textbox an AfterUpdate event limits the records displayed in the list box to match the criteria of what has been entered in the text box.

When the user identifies the entry he/she wants to select from the list box, I want the functionality of being able to double click the entry, the popup form close and the selection populated in the combo box.

I know that this is probably just simple code using the List Box double click event. I am however unsure how to go about it. Do I need to use some kind of Insert statement??

Open New Form Based On Listbox Selection

I have a form which has a listbox listing all the letters a student has had sent home. Basically i want to be able to click on a letter in the list box and for a popup form to open with the record details. However it just brings up a blank record.

The list box has a unique field called standardletterID.

the code behind the button to filter was just used through the wizard to open the popup form is:

but it doesnt seem to be working :(

I thought this would be easy but no matter how much i destroy my database trying to do it its not playing ball!

Open Form/record With Listbox Selection

Hi,

Need help on a list box issue. Solution is probably real simple, just can't see it with my bleary eyes.

I have a form (INSTLKP) with only a list box (List6) based on a table ((tblPersData) with fields PersdataID; SSN; Last; First; MI) on it. When I open the form up, the listbox does display all records associated withthe table. I would like to doubleclick on a desired SSN in the list box and have that record open up in a form (Perssub1) in edit mode.

And that is where the rub is... I have the following code in the On doubleclick event of List6


Private Sub List6_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)

DoCmd.OpenForm "Perssub1", , , "[PersDataID]= " & Me.List6, , acWindowNormal

End Sub


All it does it just open a blank Perssub1 form. Any ideas on what I'm missing?

Combo Box Selection To Determine Which Form To Open

Hi don't know if I'm trying to do something that can't be done but I'll give it a try

I have a combo box which selects a type of incident e.g. report, SIF, Phone call etc

and dependent on what is selected I would like to get access to automatically select which form to open so if report is open when the command button is clicked then the report form would be opened, when SIF is selected the SIF form would be opened etc...

How do I go about this.. I have only ever wrote code in excel, so can I have step by step if it involves code (which I guess it does) including where to put the code and even how to go about it

I have a list box, List3, in a form, which is populated from a query. The list populates correctly.I added a command button which I want to open a new edit form with the selected record from the List3 control.I used this code on the DoubleClick event - it opens the form EditEquipment, but the form does not have the relevant record, ItemID, open in it. It's an autonumber field and primary key. Is there something I now need to do in the EditEquipment OnLoad event or something like that?

I am trying to resolve a problem with selecting multiple records.

I have a table called T_user and bound form called F_user.

This form displays all 3 fields from that table.

When I want to add a new user, I enter a name and select a department.

Some of the users work for few departments, so here is the question:

How to select multiple departments for one user?

The department field in F_user is set to LISTBOX, and the multi select option in properties is set to SIMPLE.

I can select multiple departments, but as we know it won't save in the table, it will leave it as NULL value.

How can I save the record then? In another form I need to select users from specific department, so lets say A.Smith, need to be visible in those few selected ones.

but unsure how can I make it work on my form.

What would be the best table construction to allow for the inclusion of area information that varies depending on the selection of a certain route, to also include crossovers?

For example, if I had the following

R1 - AreaA, AreaC, AreaF AreaK
R2 - AreaC, AreaF, AreaL, AreaN
R3 - AreaC, AreaM, AreaN, AreaQ

How best to allow users to see all of the areas that apply to each of the routings, but not to be presented with the same grouping twice if more than one routing is selected at the same time?

I should add that I am looking to have these selectable by a combo that is filtered according to the value(s) in other fields.

We have an access database which has a form that has a list box that details particular records. See attach "list box".

What I would like to do is double click on the record and this would look in a powerpoint folder (see attach "path") and open the presentation if there is a match to the value in Listbox Column 5 i.e. Tool Number.

I can get it to open the presentation if I include the tool number in the path but I cannot seem to be able to get it to compare the values and only open if there is a match.

table two = job information
both have field called ClientNumber in them and have Relationships

i have a form with list box in it with ClientNumber(hidden), Surname, First name and i have a button and i want when i choose a name of list box and click button to open a job information form and be on new record and i want the ClientNumber to be put in the ClientNumber textbox on the form

so if u click on eg: David scown and click button want it to open form and be on a new record and put his Client Number in the client number text box
