Page Numbers In Subreport
Oct 22, 2007I have page numbers in a subreport. How do I get them to update to match the correct page numbers for the report?
Thank you.
I have page numbers in a subreport. How do I get them to update to match the correct page numbers for the report?
Thank you.
I have a report which includes several subreports. There will be times when a subreport prints partially on one page and completes on the next. I don't always want to break to a new page with this subreport. However, I would want to break to a new page if the subreport cannot fully print on the current page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a report in which there is a subreport that prints towards the bottom of the page. I know that I can use grouping to have the subreport print on the next page if the entire subreport cannot print on the current page. However, I want to have the break occur not for the section as a whole but between records. Let me illustrate this.
All sorts of other stuff prints at the top. At the bottom, I have a subreport which today prints the following on the first page and breaks the last record in two printing the second line on the next page.
First Page of the Report:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Doctor's Full Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Location: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Full Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Location: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Full Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
__________________________________________________ _______________
Second Page of the Report:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Doctor's Location: XXXXXXXXXXXX
__________________________________________________ _______________
What I would like to do is the following:
First Page of the Report:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Doctor's Full Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Location: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Full Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Location: XXXXXXXXXXXX
__________________________________________________ _______________
Second Page of the Report:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Doctor's Full Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Doctor's Location: XXXXXXXXXXXX
__________________________________________________ _______________
Is it possible to specify that if a complete record within a subreport cannot be printed on the same page to break to the next page without having the whole subreport break to the next page?
I have a report that is fixed at one page for one record. However, there is a subreport with many transactions ("CanGrow"=No). If this goes to a new page I have to close the report and start a new one. This all works fine, except for the last transaction - if the second-to-last transaction record is at the bottom of a page then the last one does not print.
Access seems to format the data, then it realizes that it won't fit on the page so doesn't print it. I am using record id number to know which transaction record to start the next report on, so when it gets to the end my logic thinks it has reached the end as the id number is the last one in the set.
How can I know if the last record has printed or not?
I have been working on this for over a week in Access 2010 and I know that I am almost there, but need getting over this last hurdle as I have a severe case of tunnel vision on this while I am trying to get it to work.
I have a Main Report based on my Element table and a subreport based on my OTC table. There is a one-to-many relationship between the Element and the OTC table. My Master / Child Fields between the two reports are as follows: ElementID;GroupNum
My SQL for the Main report is:
Code:
SELECT Val(DCount("*","Element","ElementID=" & [ElementID] & " AND Step <" & [Step]))2 AS GroupNum, Element.ElementID, Element.ProcessID, Element.ModelID, Element.Step, Element.ElementDescription, Element.RevDate, Element.GPCFS, Element.TrainingGate
FROM Element
[code]...
As an example in testing this report, I am looking at a specific Element with 33 records and a total of 72 OTC records. Each of the 33 records can have 1 or 2 or 3 or up to 4 OTC records but the report is only 17 pages which tells me that the page break is occuring based on the ElementID and not on the OTC records....
I have seen large projects in which there are clearly several printed database reports printed out to make one booklet.
1. How does one get page numbers for multiple reports to go in sequence instead of starting over again at 1 for each report.
2. How can you add a page reference in one report to something in another report?
Do you have to do these things by hand or is there a way to create a something with auto numbering capabilities? Do you do it by importing the reports to MS Word and creating a master document?
I've got an empty pageheader, and a customer group header that repeats on every page. the customer group does not have a footer, and I have a standard agreement paragraph and a signature line in the page footer.
I want to apply a page number to either the top (group header) or bottom (page footer) of my page to reflect the PAGE OF PAGES for the group, not the overall report.
The printed report gets separated into pages for each customer and mailed to them - doesn't make sense to have running page numbers on these - I'd like the customer to be able to see that they're looking at page 2 of 4 of what I mail them, instead of page 202 of 412.
How can I accomplish this?
Sidenote: I ran across a few references to the MS Knowledgebase report samples file (RptSmp00.mdb) during my pre-post answer search. I downloaded - I browsed - I learned a few new tricks. Good stuff.

I'm working on a pretty serious report (at least for me)...I have 3 sub-reports inside, and the point of this is to use VBA and loop through several conditions (in the underlying queries), and print out in a batch for the user. When I add a page number footer it adds about 3 seconds to the processing time for a 14 page report. That doesn't sound like a whole lot, but when I loop through and process this 12 times, that's a lot of added time for the user...(the last thing I want to hear is it's slow!)
So, would it be faster if I set the page numbers in VBA? What event would I use? On Load?!? Also, how would I find the page number variables in VBA?
I am running a report based on a query for a bunch of people who take medication. It runs the report and puts page numbers in the bottom right. Works perfect but I want it to do page numbers per person rather than the whole report. Is that possible to do or would I need to run some code to do them all individually?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a report that lists states and cities within the states. When a state name happens to be at the end of the page the individual cities appear on the next page with no State heading. I solved the second page problem by setting the "repeatSection = Yes" in the Section Header (though I haven't shown that in the example below).
But the previous page (which just shows the State Name and no cities looks dumb. Is there some sort of solution.??
(Actually I would also like any State that continues to a next page to not just have the state name but something like
" Colorado (Continued)" Is there anything I can do in VB to make a page break if the section is going to print but therer isn't enough room for one detail line?
This is what I currently see
Alaska
Ancorage
Prudo Bay
California
Whittier
Anaheim
Colorado

Denver
Pueblo
Colorado Springs
Deleware
Dover
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks !
If I have a report and it has controls (labels representing column titles) in the page header. Now when I print the report - if it happens that the last page has no detail records - but there is text boxes and so forth in the report footer. Is there a way to not display the page header on the last page?
I have a report where the last page shows the page header - and the field/column labels on the page header - but for which there is no detail records left to display - on the last page. There is report footer information that should display. It just looks weird because the field/column labels show at the top of the page - but there is no data remaining to print under them on that last page.
Hi All,
I have a data access page needs a filter by a dropdownlist, the dropdownlist used is a html control and I use javascript to filter the data programmaticlly in the onchanged event of the control.
MSODSC.DataPages(0).Recordset.Filter="AppID = 3";
My problem is, when this statement runs, the page refreshes. But I don't need the page refreshes, it set the dropdownlist text to the default text, not the value user select. The browser is IE7.
How can I stop the page refresh itself?
Thanks and Happy New Year!!
I have one-page forms which print a second page, blank except for a block of grey shading at the top. I have tried moving the content of the form up but that doesn't eliminate the second page. If I look at print preview, every second page of the entire database shows up as blank, regardless of where that happens to appear in the record.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a report that should only show 1 page yet I have 2 and one is blank . I cannot find out why?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having multiple problems with my database like things such as -
i'm currently working on the Query 2 - On the Phone database (ignore Query 1) and i want to search for multiple plot numbers preferably in one parameter prompt with a comma to seperate numbers. (this could be a multitude of numbers so i would like to be able to input as many as needed). Also when i do search on this query since the Criteria is a 'Between' Value i would expect everything between the 2 numbers input to show up - but a lot of numbers out of the range show up too - why is this? (The Numbers are like "69 to 136" and they will show up - but 1-69 and 136-170 would too
I would also like to implement the search results from Query 2 into the Form i currently have made but it just opens up a access table when the search is made?
i cannot link my database as it is too big for the server - But here are the Criteria for Query 2:
Plot No - (criteria = Between [Enter First Plot No:] And [Enter Last Plot No:])
Site - (criteria = Like "*" & [Enter Site:] & "*")
Product - (criteria = Like "*" & [Enter Product:] & "*"
The Query is the one im most concerned about , i can live without a form.
I am trying to create an invoice report. I want to add all the costs from the detail section in my footer. I have accomplished this in either the Report footer and/or the page footer, but the problem is that the report footer doesn't go to the bottom of the page, and the page footer doesn't go to just the last page. I have tested a bunch of suggestions that don't seem to work.
1. Print page footer with Report header = NO - only works if your report is two pages or more.
2. Private Sub PageFooterSection_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
If Page = Pages Then
Me.[TextBoxName].Visible = True
Else
Me.[TextBoxName].Visible = False
End If
End Sub
The Page functions worked, but it did not change the results from page to page. If it was a two page report, then the if statement is false and the text box was not visible on page 1, but it also was not visible on page 2.
to automatically create a second, third, fourth... page depending on how many characters are in the narrative. The only other thing needed to be changed is the page# of Page#.
So right now my form looks like below
CAD#
Person name
Charge
Narrative
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
"
Officer name date page # of #
Thanks in advance.

Hi All
I have added the Allen Browne Calendar 2k control to my form.
My form consists of 4 pages. On pages 2 and 3 I have subforms and on page 4 I have Personal data. Page 1 is general data and the Calendar is on Page 1.
What is happening is that the Calendar is also being displayed on my 4th page, in the same position as page 1. When I try to move it, cover it or delete it from page 4, it is also gone from page 1.
Any suggestions please?
Many thanks
Tee :(
I've used the following code on the footer on print procedure:
Private Sub PageFooterSection_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer)
Me.PageFooterSection.Visible = (Me.[Page] = 1)
End Sub
This works fine when you view it in print preview, but the footer don't show up at all when you actually print it.The reports default view itself is set print preview.
I have made a report on my query. The page setup is all around merging 0.2" and page size A4
When i view this report in preview it looks all my data whatever i want in a page but after every page it will generate a blank page.
I have included my report.
Ok so in excel I have some numbers that are stored as text. The reason being that they are zip codes and some begin with 0 and excel doesn't want numbers to start with 0....so when I import these into an access field that has an input mask for zip codes...will it convert these correctly since the field is a text with input mask?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 fields that I would like to automate if possible
One field is called "p/o number" and another field called "line no"
These fields are part of an ordering database
Let say I have 200 items to purchase form 10 suppliers
And form example 20 items from each supplier
What I do at present is put the order number on each line item and the line number
example
p/o number line no
1 1
1 2
1 3
2 1
2 2
2 3
2 4
What I want to do is just put the first po number in the required line . Put the first line number in i.e. "1" and the macro will complete all the p/o numbers and line numbers for me as per the ones marked in red.
Example
1 1
2 2
3 3
2 1
2 2
2 3
I have a form with six tabbed pages on it. Since data entry follows in a logical order I would like to put a command button on the bottom of each page (subform) that can be used to go to the next page. What I am going to though? If i put a command button (open form) then it opens the whole form not as a subform on a tabbed page. if I try and put a command button (open page) then it will not let me enter the page number. Hope that makes sense! Any ideas
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a report that has the dates go accross the page and not down the page .
Example:
Need:
Jan 2014 Feb 2014 March 2014
Ans so on. I will also need datat under each date.
I am having issues with the reports to give me the output that I need.
I've created a database which I'm pretty much using as a point of sales terminal.. it does sales, returns, expenses etc. I have created a report for each one of these (sales, returns...) which can be printed off at the end of each day.
At the moment, if there is no data in one of the reports, I have put a bit of code in the NoData event of the report that will make a label visible saying "no sales/returns/expenses for this date".
I am trying to combine all of these reports into one report so the user can click a button to open a general "End of Day" report. The problem with making them all subreports is that if there is no data in a subreport, nothing will be displayed in that subreport.
Is there anyway to force access to display a subreport regardless of whether is has data in it? or can anyone see another option which i have missed?
Is there any way to add a dropdown box or something that determines that a subrecord is active/completed, and then have a way to jump straight to the one that is active by clicking a button on the record? In the example I attached, I want to be able to click on the button above the tab and have it switch to that tab and open the first record it finds that has "Active" selected.
