I need the password entry validated against the password stored in a column on the same row as the Employee Name selected from the combo box when a button is clicked. . IF, that value is validated, I need the button click to also record a "time in" or "clock in" entry in a different table.how to validate the password.

its just that need to add a password as well, i have tried to put this in between the <> but this does not work. i would like a message to say incorrect password as well if possable.
Not Prompted For Password When Relinking - 'Not A Valid Password Message'
Mar 29, 2007I have recently split my database and added a password to the back end. I am now trying to re-link the tables as I have seen in other threads, but when I do this I am not prompted for the password I just get the message 'Not a valid password'

Firstly thank you for your help, this should be a simple one I hope, but is cracking my head on the wall. Have searched and searched and can't find an answer.
I have an Access Db that is not password protected, but is asking for a password.
It opens on any other machine fine?
I think my version of Access is playing funny buggers with me, any suggestions?
I was trying to implement some security on this Db, which is why it happened I'm sure. I ran the security wizard, set-up two users and admin with passwords, I have the output file to "recreate" something too.
Issue is, I then copied this Db to another computer for use on there, it worked without a Password, so didn't need to worry about it, now I can't open any Db on my machine??
Your help on this obvious pointer would be great!

Queries :: Format Field As Password Or Hidden Text
May 22, 2014I have a query that I am sending as a spreadsheet to various service technicians listing parts that they need to take inventory of. Then, after they take the inventory, they send the spreadsheet back to me and I upload their counts back into my database. Right now, my query contains the Bin number, part number, part description, and a blank column for the technician's count. I have just learned, that the company does not want the Bin number to be visible in the report. In order to upload the technician counts into the database when they return the spreadsheet, I need to be able to reference the Bin number to get the count on the right line.
Is there something that I can do so that the Bin number will be visible in the report when the database reads it, but not to the technician?
The only solution I could think of was to format the Bin Number as a password. Unfortunately, I can't get that to work in the query results. If I save the bin number as a password in the table, is there a way to make it visible on reports for internal use (so the people in headquarters who are responsible for over all inventory can still see each bin number)? I found how to hide the field in the query results. However, when I send the results to the technician, the field is not there at all.

Feb 7, 2006I have a combobox on a form which is populated from a field to present a list for the user to choose from.
I have limit list set to 'N'
When the user types something in the combobox that is not in the field in the table then I want to prompt for a password. Effectively password protecting the update of the field from a combobox.
If the password is correct the text is written to the field in the table and if not then not.

Forms :: Changing The Password In The Table From A Form
May 9, 2013I have a login button in which if the username has an empty password or the user is his/her first time to login, another form will appear which is the Set New Password. How can I change the password of that current user, my Set New Password Form has two fields which is 'txtSetPassword1' and 'txtSetPassword2' and an OK button.
The user must enter a new password and a verification password, if the 2 fields matched, the new password entered will change the password in the table. The table name is 'tbl_UsernamesQry'.
I have done it but the main problem is, it changes the other's users password not the current user.

I want to use the linked table to create relationships and forms but do not want to even accidently edit it. Jan 15, 2015I am creating a database to keep up with the expenses for my art business. I have a table for Vendors with a field (Mileage) for one-way mileage that I enter manually (EX: 11.8 miles). Then I have a calculated field that basically just multiplies the Mileage field times two to get total mileage to and from my house to vendor location. (Total Miles) {The reason I want to do this this way right now is because I didn't keep up with my mileage this year and I am having to look up the distance from my home to each location)
Then I have a "supplies" table where I show the date, the vendor, the item, cost, etc, and I want to add a Total Mileage field based on the calculated Total Miles field in the Vendors table that will automatically populate based on the vendor of each transaction. I just can't remember how to make this work and I know just enough SQL to be dangerous.

A 'main' table lists projects, their fees, their key dates, their project numbers, etc. I have created another table for tasks. Each task is assigned to a project (via the project number), and may be 'open' or 'closed'. I have separated the tasks table from the projects table as there may be several different tasks for each project. It is also good to keep a record of the tasks.
I want to prepare a report from the projects table that lists projects IF they have any open tasks.
In my mind, this means 'If a task, with the corresponding project number, is open, put a 'Yes' in the 'Tasks open' field of the Projects table.'

I have another table called Inventory Transactions (table2 - FK=INVID) that gets updated through a form. When a new transaction is made in table2, I want the transaction amount to get added or subtracted to an OnHandQty field in table1. I tried having table2 (transaction table) as the main form and then table2 as the subform, but I couldn't get table2 to update.

The questions in the database need to be dynamic and are changed frequently.
I have a scorecard table which keeps a record of scores and the applicable question at the time the record was saved. I need to do this because in 6 months time we may want to provide feedback. As the question may have changed we need to be able to refer back to what the question was.
I want the question field in my scorecard table to populate with the value in my question table.
I have tried a number of things including setting the question field in the scorecard table to a lookup based on the following query:
SELECT tblQ1.Q1
FROM tblQ1;
This works however only as a list or combo box. I don't want the user to have to select the question. I want it to auto populate, is this possible?
