Since i let it install like 3 times, i click cancel and it still works fine. Anyone else have a problem like this? How can i prevent it from installing everything, since its already installed?

General :: Combo Charts - Graph Showing Certain Dataset As Column And Average For That Set

Aug 10, 2015

Is it all possible to create the equivalent of a combo chart in Excel in Access?

What I need is a graph showing a certain dataset as columns but also a line showing the average for that set.

As an example lets take an exercise programme in a school, each child performs a series of exercises every week and data is recorded, to monitor their fitness progression.

Lets say I wanted to show a graph of one particular exercise, with the class students listed along the x axis, and then show the class average for that exercise dataset as a line on the same graph.

HELP!!! Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Invalid SQL Statement Expect

Mar 27, 2007

My main experience is with MySQL and PHP so I'm kindof stumbling around in the dark here. Heres my story:

We recieved a new server and migrating from (Windows Server 2000, IIS 5.0, Access 2000) to (Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0, Access 2003) has been nothing but problems.

I have setup IIS to work with ASP, I've also setup a system DSN. The access file was copied over from the previous server. We're running Access 2003 and now I can't seem to get this ASP script to work.

When I try to upload a file to the script I get this error:

Line: 42

Error: HELP!!! Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Invalid SQL statement expected 'DELETE','INSERT','PROCEDURE','SELECT', OR 'UPDATE'.

Here is the part of Connect.asp that errors:

I set an alert after this line but it doesn't pop up.

ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY GREATLY APPRECIATED. I'll be checking this very frequently.

Sincerly,

Where Do I Install Msowcf.dll?

Feb 21, 2006

I have a text box on a form with the Control Source set to: =Pi() It's giving me a #Name? error, as is Control Source: =Radians(34) Seeing this note in the help file related to Pi() ...
Some functions display the error #NAME? instead of a value.
Some of the spreadsheet functions are provided through a separate dynamic link library file, Msowcf.dll. If this file is missing, the functions display the #NAME? error value when you open the spreadsheet in your browser. Search for Msowcf.dll on your computer, and if it's missing, either reinstall Microsoft Office 2000 or contact your system administrator.I searched my computer for Msowcf.dll and found it installed in:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft Access RuntimOffice10
C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice
C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10

I'm using Office 2000 on this computer (Front Page 2002).

Can't Install Or Run Access 97 On Win XP SP2

May 18, 2007

I have a genuine Microsoft CDs and keys, one with Office 97 Small Business Edition, and the other with Access 97 (these are both the full version, NOT upgrades). As I got new machines over the years (both Windows 98 and Windows XP SP 2), I installed the software from both CDs without incident a number of times on on each of those machines. I now have a new Lenovo T60 laptop (again with Win XP SP 2, 1 GB of RAM, and over 100 GB of free disk space).

Word, Excel and Outlook from the Office 97 SBE CD installed normally and run normally, except that I had to rename two Registry keys to get past an error message during installation saying that htmlmarq.ocx could not register itself (see http://forum.theispguide.com/isp-ftopic2753.html). When I went to install Access on the new machine, it kept prompting me to either point it to the folder where the "qualifiying product" was installed, or to insert that product's CD, before it would let me proceed with the "upgrade" - all this despite the fact that this is definitely a full product CD, and NOT an upgrade version. I went round and round with this a number of times, and eventually got past this series of screens (I don't remember how I did it, I was just so relieved to have circumvented the problem).

The balance of the installation appeared to complete normally. However, when I try to launch Access, I get an out of memory error, even immediately after a re-boot and with no other applications running. Does anyone have any ideas about how to resolve this?

Multiple Version Install

Sep 27, 2005

I know its possible to have 2 different versions of Access installed, and that you have to uninstall then start in with the earliest version. BUT can I have 3 different versions? I think it should be no problem but thought I would ask first.
I am looking at 97, 2000, and 2003. Plan is to do just Access 97, 2000, and then the full office install of 2003.

Help! Can't Install Access On Multiple PCs

Aug 2, 2007

I'm setting up a DB for my wife's machine shop. She has Windows 2000 (for accounting purposes) and her assistant has XP. I have 2000 at home so I installed Access 2003 on my computer, created the database, table, query, macro, and switchboard, and it works great.
Problem? Apparently, I cannot use the same product key more than twice.
I installed it on my wife's machine, but couldn't activate it on her assistant's machine.Microsoft says this is in the end user license agreement, and I'll have to take their word for it cuz I didn't read it.

My question: Is there some sort of workaround for this? If I deactivate it/uninstall it on my machine will that help? I don't need it now that the db is set up anyway.
I just need to get it activated on the 3rd (assistant's) machine ASAP.

Access 2K Runtime Install Problem!

Sep 11, 2005

Hello to everyone.

I am reading this forum for a while now and I learned here almost everything I know. But, now i am having problem and I really don't know how to solve it. I am trying to test some little program which I made fo my company. It is Access 2000 database and I made it with Access 2003. Everything is working 100% in Access 2003. BUT, problem is that this database will be run on several mashines in two of our companies and in that other company they have a lot of computers with Win98 installed. I have Access 2003 Developer and I managed to make deployment for computers in my resident company, but, as you probably know, Access 2003 is not working on Win98 computers.

So, I tried to install Access 2000 Runtime on those computers and I am still trying because stupid installation won't finish! It just stops when it comes almost to the end of instalation and nothing happens. I tried to wait for some time but instalation is dead. I also tried to make clean instalation of Win98, but nothing changed. There is no Access on those computers of any kind.

I tried to search forum for solution, but I didn't find it.

Please, help me!

Hi all..

I am not even sure if it will be possible.

I use Access 2003 and Access developer extensions for packaging the software(operating system is Windows 2000)..everytime I upgrade my software, the users need to uninstall it from their computer and then install my new version..
Is it possible to automate this process so that users click a button on the application and uninstall and install is taken care?

I know I can run a batch file using shell command...but can I create a bat file to uninstall and install? Now, users goto add/remove programs and remove their current version before they install new version.

Thanks

Can Programmer Install A Database Expiration

Nov 27, 2006

I had some work done on my Database a few weeks ago and it works great.

I just got an email from the guy who did the work and he wants me to pay him more money....he said he forgot to bill me for 6 hours.

I told him I didn't think that was fair and wasn't really willing to pay for more hours....he then said he never sent the "non-expiry" versions of the databases.....he also said I have 15 days left until they expire.

Considering I done additional work on them I was wondering if this is possible?

Bruce

P.S. I hate being taken advantage of.....he was really good to work with but now he's trying to rob me.

Problems After Access 2007 Install

Sep 21, 2007

In have a db that was created with Access 2003. I recently installed Access 2007 and kept the old version as well. However, when I try to work with the db in Access 2003, I am getting all kinds of errors. When I run the same db in a machine installed only with Access 2003, it runs fine. I am thinking that it might be the reference library. Can anyone help. If it is the reference library, how can I revert back to the old reference library.

Converting From Microsoft Access 2.0 To Microsoft Access 2003

Jul 10, 2006

Hello everyone,

I would like to convert a database, which was made for me, in order to enable it to be used on my current system.

I get the error message below when trying to open the database in Microsoft Access 2003.

The database was made using Microsoft Access 2.0.

Will I need Microsoft Access 2.0 to update/delete the database all the time?

Or can I convert this to be used with Microsoft Access 2003?

I have tried opening the file exclusively and I get the same error.

I have selected Show Help and it advises me to import all the objects from the database into a new database. This can`t be achieved as I can`t open the file to retrieve the contents.

Thank you very much for your help and all responses are appreciated,

Access 2002 Runtime Install Asking For Windows NT SP6 Installing On Vista RC2 5840

Dec 28, 2006

Hi everyone.

Have been testing installation of Office XP Developer Access 2002 runtime package created using the package wizard on a WinXP Pro SP2 machine, for installation on a Vista RC2 5840 machine.

After installing the latest necessary updates such as Office XP Developer SP1 among others which were essential to remove the Path/File error I had, A new error displayed itself as soon as the runtime install package launched.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Visual Basic 6.0 Setup Toolkit (Error Window Title Bar)

The Office System Pack cannot be installed on this system because it requires Windows NT Service Pack 6 or later.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I assume Windows NT SP6 has no relevance to Vista ???

Maybe some other update will help here. I have googled for hours to no avail.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you and best wishes for 2007.

Filtering Charts

Aug 25, 2006

I solved one problem only to hit another.
I have several charts that work off of a query.
The several charts all compare various variables to year.
I created the charts and they all work great. However, the user now wants to be able to select or compare various years as opposed to seeing them all in every chart. I made the year an integer. I then tested the query that all the charts are based on to see if it filters properly.

In the query's date filed I have the criteria Like [Enter the desired year]
This works fine if I am just looking at the query.
However, if I pull up the chart that the query is based on I get the error message, "The microsoft jet database engine does not recognize '[Enter the desired year]'as a valid field name or expression."

I have wasted an enormous amount of time simply trying to filter my charts by year. A single field in my table that is an integer with 0 decimal places. All the dates are entered as a 4 digit number. Ex 2006.

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My end desire is to have a form with two text boxed named "start" and "end" in addition to a number of butons each corresponding to one of the charts. My user will enter two dates, one in each of the text boxes "start" and "end"
When he/she presses one of the chart butons, the corresponding chart will open up showing only the two (or) one selected years' data. This would be filtered by the query that all of the charts are based on that has a set criteria, "Like [forms].[charts].[start] or like [forms].[charts].[end]"

As I mentioned earlier, I already have this all set up. The query works fine based on all of the above. However, if I click the butons or try to open a chart I get the message stated above.

Thanks again to all here at the forum for your invaluable help.

Best Practice For Charts?

Jan 3, 2007

Deal All

I've got some simple charts to do in Access. They are working fine - except for the Legends.

The problem is that my table (on which the charts are based) is fed by Combo boxes which populate the table with codes, rather than a descriptor.

For example, the combo box on the input form displays two columns

5 | Excellent
4 | Very Good
3 | Average
2 | Not good
1 | Poor
0 | Don't know

..but populates the table only with the numbers 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, or 0.

Consequently, the legend in my graph only displays the numbers - when I would really like the Words.

What's the best way round this?
