Print Within Multiple Forms

Aug 16, 2005

I have 2 subforms embedded into one main form. Everything looks great on screen, and even when I hit the print preview button. But when I print the form out the 2 embedded forms will not print.

Any clues?

Forms :: Print Multiple Forms Or Reports From One Command?

Sep 23, 2014

I have forms that are printed based on a query parameter of [enter item number]. There are several of these forms that I would like to print at one time (with one command) making it easier for the user to gather their information at the beginning of the day. I also don't want to lose the ability to print them out individually as we do now.

Reports :: Subreports Print Multiple Times

Dec 23, 2013

I've narrowed my problem to a subreport that prints multiple copies of the report based on the number of items generated in the subreport.

i.e. If I have an instructor registered to teach three classes in the subreport, the main report will print three time (identical). An instructor with two classes will print twice (identical).

No button...just good old "print" how? why? where?

Print Report From Form Based On Multiple Criteria?

Nov 17, 2006

Hi,

I have the following code which i found on another thread on this forum (thanks to original author) which is attached to the On Click of a button which prints the report corresponding to the details displayed in the form.

Dim strCriterion As String
Dim strMsg As String, strTitle As String
Dim intStyle As Integer

If IsNull(Me![ReferenceNumber]) Then

strMsg = "You cannot print a Blank Form!!."
strTitle = "Print Error"
intStyle = vbOKOnly
MsgBox strMsg, intStyle, strTitle

Exit Sub
End If

If Me.Dirty Then
Me.Dirty = False
End If

strCriterion = "[ReferenceNumber]=" & Me![ReferenceNumber]
DoCmd.OpenReport "DoC Certificate", acViewNormal, , strCriterion

This works fine, however, i need to be able to select the report based on more than 1 criteria. For example, the Reference Number can be repeated but is distinguishable from each other by an Issue Number i.e. ReferenceNumber = 93, Issue 1 or 2 etc. At present when i run the above it prints all versions of, in this case, reference number 93, which given that each report is only a single page isn't a show-stopper but it would be nice to have it working as i would like.

I have tried adding to the strCriterion line such as strCriterion = "[ReferenceNumber]=" & Me![ReferenceNumber] and "[IssueNumber]=" & Me![IssueNumber] but no joy. I have tried bracketing the whole line and variations thereof, again no joy.

Can anybody tell if what i am attempting to do is possible and if so how do i go about it?

I have tried the above coding using MasterID which is the Autonumber PK but it produces an "Enter Parameter Value" box for MasterID. Obvioulsy if i can get it to work for the Autonumber then my problem goes away but i can't seem to figure out why it works for Reference Number (Number) and not MasterId (Autonumber)?

Regards

Alan

Forms :: One Table Two Forms - Print Form2 Using Form1

Nov 24, 2014

I have a Lost/Found property database which we use to keep record of the lost/found property and its working fine.

The database has one table and two forms.

One form (LostFoundForm) is visible to the user in which they enter data, this form has two sections; Item(s) & Finder's details and the second section is about Restoring details.

However the second form (ClaimReceiptForm) is hidden to the users (for manual data entry) and has only one section which is exactly the same as the first form's first section, i.e., Item(s) & Finder's details. This second form takes the data automatically from the first form because the table behind them is same and fields are same (please see attachment). Up to here it's all working fine.

I would like to introduce a Checkbox or a CommandButton in the LostFoundForm which when we click should pull up a msgbox asking "Do you want to print the receipt for this item(s)?" with a Yes/No option. On clicking "No" it should, obviously, settle down but on clicking "Yes" it should print the "corresponding record" from the ClaimReceiptForm.

Reports :: Print Only Report Matching Current Record In Form Among Multiple Reports

Oct 2, 2013

I have been an MS Excel man all along my career and I am a novice in MS Access.I have created a table, [Initial Customer Approval] which records data from a Form, [Initial Customer Approval]. Once the data is entered in the Form, I need to do some calculations based on the data entered in some of the fields in the form.I created 6 different queries for the six possible values in those fields. now for each of those queries I created respective reports.I placed a Print command button in the Form.

1. When I press the Print button it should open the report for the current record in the Form. (Currently It Opens all the reports simulatneously, with only one relevant report containing the current record; other opened reports being blank.)

2. If user presses the Print button before pressing Save button then system should prompt user.

Here is the code (Please note [reference number] is the unique ID generated for each record entered in the tabe through form):

Private bSaveClicked As Boolean
Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
If Not bSaveClicked Then
MsgBox "You are trying to navigate away from the active record. Please either save your changes, or press ESC to cancel your changes.", vbOKOnly + vbInformation
Cancel = True

[code]...

Print Records From Active Forms

Mar 22, 2006

Hello, I have a problem with my database and need some help.

My database has a main menu named MENU which allows to access all the different forms of the program I am trying to develop. One of these forms is named MASTER and has its source to the main table of my db also named MASTER. To open the form and add a new recorset I simple press a button to which I have associate the following simple code:

DoCmd.OpenForm ("Master")
DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec

Once in the form and add the data I have to close it so that it can be saved. I then go back to the MENU form and use a listbox to open the selected record. The listbox its based on a query of table MASTER and has a criteria (SSN) that allows me to open the record with the double click event.

My problem is that I need to append my data into different tables and do not know a method which would allow me to do this without having first to close the active form (MASTER) and then running the append queries. Is there a way this can be done?

What I am trying to do is:

- Write my data into the active form
- Append my data from the active form into different other tables without having to close the form
- Still have my active form opened in my database so that I can open another form (CHILD).

Please note that after that I have closed the form, I am currently using this code to append the Master Table to the other tables:

If Not IsNull(DLookup("[SSN]", "child", "[SSN] = '" & Me!SSN & "'")) Then
Forms("MENU").Visible = False
Else
If IsNull(DLookup("[SSN]", "child", "[SSN] = '" & Me!SSN & "'")) Then
DoCmd.OpenQuery ("AppendChild")
End If
End If
DoCmd.OpenForm ("Child")

This avoids having to save twice the same data.
Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks.

Forms :: How To Print A Blank Form

Jun 26, 2013

In Access 2007 I'm trying to print out a blank form so users can fill in rough notes while on the phone with a client, etc. I currently have a print macro button on the form, but the entire page shows up blank (titles, everything) when I try to print a an empty form.

A possible solution I've thought of is to check if the form is blank and then open and print a separate report that's just a copy of the form and printing that, but it doesn't seem like a very elegant solution.

Forms :: DLookup To (print) Another Table's Value

Mar 29, 2013

I have two tables each containing fields Brand, Form, Area. Table 1 has some other information that needs to be gathered (data entry) and Table 2 is just a reference table for changes to these areas. This reference table has an additional field labeled area point value which is the value I want to "print".

The form is based off of Table 1 and has all of the fields I want the users to input. Stripped down, I have three combo boxes for the user to choose Brand, Form, and Area...I also have an unbound textbox control where I want the area point value to based off of the value of the three aforementioned boxes.. I believe this can be achieved with a lookup but I've never actually used a lookup in a control this complex before...

I can filter records, but cant figure out how to filter specific fields from those records.

My project goes something like this:

Each record in my form consists of listed items like on an invoice. However, not all the items on any given invoice will be printed. Therefore, I set up checkboxes beside each line, so for each invoice, I only tick the items I want to be printed from that invoice. However, I just cannot yet find a way to print the selected items.

I am aware that the On Format event does not fire and I am to use the On Paint event. However, the On Paint Event seems very limited. It does not have a Cancel and most code that i tried does not work.

Code:
Private strLastGen As String 'Report Module Variable
Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
'If a duplicate Generator
If Me.GeneratorNumber & Me.GeneratorName = strLastGen Then
Cancel = True

Reports :: Print Multiple Reports To PDF In New Directory

Jan 5, 2015

Every month, I create 15 individual reports with each report filtered by two fields, let's say Dept and Exec. You change Dept and Exec via a combo box drop down based on a table, and this information is passed to the query behind the report. Now, I repeat this process for every report. I use an unbound form that gathers the "Title", which is the Dept Name +"Special Report"; report Date using "as of" [DATE], and an updated through [Second Date].

Each monthly set of reports is sent to a new directory and folder (i.e. M:MOR Reports2005January. This changes each month. Somehow, I'd like to automate this where each report prints with its name to a newly created folder in pdf format.

I have been reading prior posts and am coming up with some ideas like adding a "selected" field to the Dept/Exec table and then step through those selected records to determine which report you are running. It takes a long time to print these to pdf in a new directory every month.

Forms :: Table Locked When Trying To Print Single Report

Jul 9, 2013

I have a database that has all the employees in my company with basic information. I have a auto number set up for each person. I also have on my form a subform with information about the employee's history in the company. I have bin trying for the last couple weeks, to put a button on my form, that will open up the custom report I made for the one employee, in print preview mode. Everything I have tried gives me a error. The main error I get is The database engine could not lock the table "EmployeeT" because it is already in use by another person or process. If I open the report by itself, then I get all my employees. I am looking to just open a single report from the form I am currently looking at.

I have 2 tables. One Named EmployeeT with all the employees basic information. I have a auto number with the field name EmployeeID. The 2nd table is called IncidentT, which has its own auto number, and records all the problem/incidents with the employee. For example, lates, if the did not show up, or cancelled out of that day, etc. I have the 2 tables sharing the EmployeeID, sharing the relationship. My main form, has a lot of my information and a subform, Like i said. what I try I can get rid of that error.

The only way I got it to work without the error, is when I go into properties and change the Record Set Type to Snapshot on both the form and subform. But then I can't edit the form or subform anymore.

1) When you use the print option in File menu, and select "Selected Records" , it will always print the second record, no the one selected.

2) No matter how often I change the printer properties , it will not keep the paper size I request.

Is there a script I could use to set the size and print the current record ?

Forms :: Print Single Record As Form (not Report)

Jul 17, 2014

I need to find a way to print the currently selected record (by clicking a button in the form) as a form. I know printing is almost always done in records, but they use the forms by hand before entering them into the computer database.

One tough part of this is that this printing function needs to be sustainable through revisions of the form, as we will be constantly updating it.

Is there a way to print the form with only the current record shown without creating a second form or report?
