I am looking for a way to only print the detail section (no header, no footer) using a print button on a form. it also needs to fit to 1 page. do i need code for this or is there a property that can be adjusted?
View RepliesI'm trying to create a report where I can use a section header as a hyperlink to show/hide detail, but only for that section. For example, my customer names are:

If I click on ZYX Co., I want it to show the contracts for ONLY that customer:

Right now, my code looks like this for On_Click:

But it shows and hides detail for ALL customers when I do this. Is there a way to only show/hide for the customer on which I click?

It's my first post to the forum, but I've browsed it a lot the past week! Lots of info here. Unfortunately I couldn't find an answer to my question, so here it is: A simple Form attached to a Table. In the detail section of the Form the Table rows are displayed (all simple textboxes) and there is a hidden button on the row. When I put the focus on a textbox in a row, I want to set visible=TRUE for the little button in that specific row. Obviously I want the button remain hidden for all other rows!
Is there a way to accomplish this, changing the properties of a control in a specific row? When I set visible=TRUE, all rows suddenly display the button.

Right. I have a textbox say called TextA which is bound to COl A of my table THis table is being shown as continous forms (ie a set of ros in the detail section) and for each row I want to use a VB function to calculate another value from TextA and update the Value attribute of TextB.
I can't for the life of me figure out which event I can use to trigger this function so that EVERY row of the detail section has this function applied to it. I do NOT want to ahve to mouseover or click on etc any fields, I want it all to be calculated when the form has done loading. So far the best I can come up with is OnCurrent, which is no damn use at all - it does the first record and then once loaded the record which has focus.
Please please help - I've got a long night ahead of me and this is due to be finished am tomorrow - argh!

I am a novice ACCESS user, so my questions may be elementary. In Access 2007, I have a query that presents the user with a list of the contacts he/she is approved to access. I want the user to be able to "drill down" to the detail form for a specific contact by double clicking on his last name, but I have not been able to find a property sheet for the last name field in the query to which I can apply the code.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI made a form with a subform - in the form header it just has the title, in the details it has details about level 1, then in the footer it has level 2 with all records assigned to level 1's ID. My problem is in form view the detail section takes up half the page, I only need it to take up an inch or so. I tried dragging it in design view and it seems to work in design view but once i switch to form view it still takes up half the page. I also tried changing the numerical height for the detail section in properties but it wont change.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe record source of a form that I have is based on a user selection in a combo box in the header of the form. When the form opens there may or may not be any records to display. Currently I put up a message box when there are no records displayed but this only happens when the form is newly opened.
I was wondering if it is possible to have a label displayed in the detail section instead whenever there are no records to display, such as something along the lines of "There are no records to display with the selected option, please choose an alternative.".
I realise that I may be asking the impossible but I'm a member of the "If you don't ask you'll never know" club.

A user requested a change that would change the form header and detail back ground color to white when they click the button print record and then change the color back all in one click after the record prints. I keeping getting a run time error, type mismatch on the line where to code is to be changed. The colors are numbers not vbColors. I am using Access 2007.

I have a bound form which shows list of items in the stock. When i click on a button it should open another form which shows the details of item which we choose from the first form.the code which i have in click event of the form is :

It works sometimes but most of the time it gives error saying " syntax error(missing operator) in query expression 'PkID=Airmux 200E DC".

I have a form, which fetches data from a database and populates the content as a number of rows in the detail section.
For each row I want to test if a certain 'yes/no' condition is met on each query and the toggle the visibility on a picture that I have placed in the detail section.
I've tried seveal possible solutions now, like macros and VBA but haven't got it working.
Btw I'm using Access 2010
i removed the DIsTINCT in my query to move some field to be updateable on the form. Once I did that my detail section of my form was empty ..why and how do I fix this problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a search form. It has 6 unbound text boxes and 2 combo boxes in the header. Users can select values from the combo boxes and/or enter names in the other text boxes. These values all go into a filter on my Main table and the filtered results show up in the detail section. That used to work fine.
Now, I've been trying to convert the filter into a query and show the query results in the detail section instead.
(Why? Because of the ever-changing business requirements, of course!)
For some reason, the detail section went blank. All white. When I change the Data Entry property to No, it fixes that.
However, the text boxes for entering the search criteria will not accept any values anymore. It's like they are disabled.
When I change Data Entry property to Yes, I can enter text into the text boxes again. But the detail section blanks out again.

I have a main form (Parent) along with a subform(Children). I want to have a button that generates a report with the Parent information as a header and the items in the subform as details. In addition, I want the report to show only the children that were recently added not all of the children.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having trouble just setting each report with a particular print method - for some reason they just kept forgetting their individual settings and resorting to default on the machine.
This meant reports were printing on the wrong paper, or the wrong size paper, the wrong orientation and some times refusing to print if it couldn't find the paper (which is useful in runtime as it doesn't display error messages)
So I used Reports(rpt).printer properties (I forgot where I found this) to hard code the printer properties into each print command... this meant I had to use another function to insert the variables.
So all I had to do was say:

and a report would print to exactly how I wanted... but it's just too slow!

If I just print the subform out by itsself it works good. However when I have the main form open then try to print I get blank pages.
I am sure someone changed a fairly small setting, but I do not know what has been changed. Thanks.

I'm pretty new to all of this. I've set up a simple database. I have a form in it for inputting information and then there is a command button on the bottom which prints out a report I've created with the information on it. This is all working great except it prints evey record and I only want the current record printed out.
I've tried the help and it goes into detail about OpenReport and PrintOut in macros. I have no idea what a macro is or what to do with it.
Can anybody please help me and give me step by step instructions as to how to print out only the current record in the report from the command button.

I have a form (entry screen to enter data) I then created a report in the layout I need for my order form. I want to creat a button that a user can press and it will print the current record to the report (order form layout)

Hello all- New here and working with a database for my boss. I did not create this rather am modifying it. I have a table (vehs) that contains information for three different departments regarding their vehicles. This database also has a form that prints (when clicked once) all of this data to the local printer. I need to make three sub forms to print similarly but just by department number (in other words only department 1's vehicle data) I'm not too big an access guru so if I need to supply any more data please let me know

I had made my own database for my own business.
I am trying to print a report from a form. Once i enter an order detail i finish off by printing a letter. At the moment we are doing this via a query by entering the order id.
I want to automate this so for the form record i am in i want a button to print a report for that record only.
I know this can be done as i rember doing this in college but i cant get my head round it at the moment.

After having designed a series of forms, I have just been told that users would like to occasionally print the data.
On testing this, it seems that the data does not print onto 1 page.
Are there any settings to fit data to 1 page wide only?
Aternatively, is there a better way of doing this? Perhaps by using a report or something like that?
The form has a whole load of calculated fields (calculated control boxes with expressions) so would I run into any problems doing it ths way ?

Having trouble printing after I performed a filter. Have a subform with continuous forms that I put various filters on..., however when printing, all the records print and not just what was filtered...Is there a way around this. Basically, I would like to be able to print out only the filtered records in my form view.

I created a form that opens to a blank form. I also have a print button on the form. I want to be able to print the blank form, but nothing happens unless the primary key has a value in it. Is there a way to print just a blank form? I have been working at this problem for a few weeks. Please help!
