Publishing Forms To Word
Feb 14, 2006Maybe this shouldnt even be done in a form as simple of a task i need. I have a query of multiple tables andi want to be able to export it to word with only a few of the columns from the query as well as displayings yes/no instead of -1/0. Basically im just trying to make a table in word so i can have all the correct pages headers and such to make our document control people happy.
Is there a way to publish a form to a word document and get the header of each column to appear at the top of each page? I noticed that if i export the form to HTML then copy and paste the table in the html file to word its works but thats a huge pain in the you know what, and the table ends up looking a bit odd in word and no amount of table formatting seems to fix that but thats a different issue.

just starting out building a database product for mineral collectors and wanted to know what to do went it is complete.
If you want to issue the finished collectors data base as an application to other users do you need a program generator?
I have heard o the Access tollbox, does this do carry out the generation?

I have searched FAQs, advanced search, etc., and know I'm not looking in the right places.
Question: How do you, in this forum, publish a URL using a descriptive title versus the actual URL itself?
Obviously it's not rocket-science since so many contributors do it apparently effortlessly, but folks I'm struggling.
Please point me in the right direction.

Publishing Access Databases In Dreamweaver
Aug 26, 2004I want to publish my access database on my local pc and was thinking of using something like Dreamweaver to do this. Is this possible? I don't want to put this on the webserver but on my local machine (only a few people will be connecting), and I've read something about a Personal Web Server so this could be done. Does anyone have any ideas / thoughts on the best way to do this? Oh, I want the database / web to be "live" so the tables get updated as they are changed over the web.

Feb 1, 2013I have small program in access database which contains about 100 cca tables, querys, forms, macros in total. Customer which both program from me, wants me to enable him to access this program not just from work, it wants to access it from home or when he is on business trip from hotel etc.
I am little confused how to achieve this and what are my options? I assume I have to set by database somewhere on server and so my customer could access it any time? Do I have to upsize access database to SQL express or similar?
Also, one more important question: is it possible to "convert" access database into HTML code or similar so it could be accessed via web browser without need to install microsoft access and with freedom that it can be opened from any type of PC OS (Linux, Mac etc)?
General :: Publishing Access Tables For Runtime Viewers?
Feb 4, 2013My office recently purchased Microsoft Access for our secretary to keep track of our contacts. No other employee owns Access so we have to distribute the tables through Access Runtime. However, there seems to be a problem.
I save and publish a database using the Packaging Wizard. I then send the associated folder with the install program to a computer which has Access Runtime installed on it. But, when I install the file I created with Packaging Wizard it just opens an Access window that is completely blank. It's actually the same thing that occurs when I try to open an Access file on a computer that doesn't have Access or Runtime installed on it at all.
Linking Excel To Access Automatically - Publishing Daily Report?
Dec 6, 2012Having experimented with Access for a few months now; I know you can link an Access Database to SharePoint, and you can export Excel files into Access for inclusion in tables.
My question is; If I have a daily report being produced, through script, with an excel output. Is there anyway to automatically publish this in Access, negating the need to manually go into Access to import?

Word :: Sizing MS Word Table To Same Size As Recordset
Aug 14, 2014My end goal is to populate a pre-existing table in an MS Word document with records from a query. The easiest way I've found (through scouring the internet) is to start with the code below (ran during OnClick() even in Access) to get the table the same size as the recordset:

The code will shrink the table down just fine if the table has more rows than the recordset +1 (for header column). My hangup with this is the last line ("Selection.InsertRowsBelow 5") isn't executing; rows are not being added to the table. I get no errors -- it just does nothing. I set it as "Selection.InsertRowsBelow 5" arbitrarily just to see if it would even add rows, and sure enough it's not.
Reports :: Publishing Multiple Copies Of Selected Reports
Nov 18, 2013I am trying to add to a db I inherited. One of the end reports that is produced is a cost breakdown for each end user.As things stand, the data collates into individual reports which are then grouped into one file and saved via PDF. What I am trying to work out is whether or not I can selectively pick some of those reports to have more than one copy.
I see a form (within an existing form) that will list all of the end users for a particular scheme and, next to that, be a dropdown that will allow the db user to select how many copies of each report needs to be published. These will then collate merrily into one document to be saved to PDF.

May 18, 2005Hi,
I am exporting a table to word and I have come across a problem.
My code opens a template, creates a table with the correct number of rows and columns at a certain position, and then adds data to it.
At this point, everything is fine. But, here is where the problem sticks its ugly head out. I am modifying the column widths and every other time I run it, it crashes, saying something about not being able to access the remote server. Run time error 462.
I have checked in the task manager that word is being quit properly each time and tried going to different templates.
The first time I run it, it runs fine. The second time, it crashes on the line where I change the width. Here is the line of code.
mytable.Columns(1).Width = InchesToPoints(1.2)
I have found that if I close the document after it is created and leave word open, it will run fine.
I think I am in the same boat as mrpauly. But his post date is 23rd April 2001…

I made a database application and i need some help: in the application i use a script that modifies word documents by opening ms word application, but some customers don't want to install ms word. I'm asking if someone knows tto exist some kind of word runtime that i can modify word documents without having word installed. I'm using also vb6.

Datasheet To Word
Jul 22, 2005Exporting datasheet to word, how is this possible using vb. Actually, I do have a thread in Form forum. But, I think not a lot of people visit that place. Anyways, I have created bookmarked and used datavariable to export the data (by ansentry's help). But the only thing that it exports is just one selection on that datasheet, instead of all the chosen rows.
I am exhausted now after searching everywhere, and not finding a clue. How to resolve that situation. If there is an example that I can use, that would be gr8.

Reports To Word
Mar 26, 2006Right the thing is i can export my reports to word but when they export they don't hold the lines that i placed around the text boxes, this is becoming quite annoying as the reason i put the lines around the boxes,was so when the report is output it looks like the original.

Word Merge..
Apr 27, 2006Im having a problem getting this code to work.
It is meant to fire up Word (which it does), open up a new doc based on the template (which it also does) and then populate a field in the doc with data from the query table (which it doesn't).
I've put the fields in the Word doc via firstly, defining them as Custom Document Properties in the File, Properties box, and then as "{ DOCPROPERTY "<fieldname>" *MERGEFORMAT }" codes in the text.
The field in the Word doc is type 'text' and the field in Access is type 'text', so I am stumped by the "Type Mismatch" error it gives when attempting to get/open the recordset.
It hasnt even got to transferring the values across to the doc.?
Ive not done this before (Access newbie) and even found creating the custom fields in Word not as straighforward as I expected!

Database is the MS Contacts Template with minor adjustments.
1. Trying to insert a link to an image using a bound OLE object in my form. Now I've got it top work. However, the link appears normal size in the centre of the object box. Problem is when I resize the oject box so that llink text just fits fine. The text resizes with the box and you need a microscope to read it.
2. I want to be able to cerate merged letter but I cant select Tools>Merge it with MS word fro some reason (i've aslo tried with with DB's we use in work with same problem) but publish with Word is available.:confused:
I am by no means an expert with Access so please, please post replies in lamens terms.

Access To Word, Once Again!

I have created this command button from tools that output the access report into word file. However, it prints all the record into word file, is there a way that it would print one record or selective record at a time. I mean, lets just say if I am on record 3 after I am done I press the button and I don't want it to output 1 to 3 record just the 3rd one. Is it possible to do it like that or not?
