Reports :: Access 2007 Crashes When Running Report Based On Query

Apr 14, 2014

I have DB in access 2007. I have a report that is uses a select query to generate the information for the report. It has been working great, But however lately like maybe with in the last month, it has been causeing Access 2007 to crash. I am having the same issue with another DB that uses the same information but that information is imported in. both Databases have worked great up until two months ago. Microsoft states that it is because of the program. I have tried to repair the DB by using the Repair option. I am confused as to why this would be happening. I can create a new report and it seems to work. but I do not want to change all the DB on everyone's computer just for this reason. I also have two buttons on my report that utilize macros to close or print the report.

Reports :: Merge PDFs In Access 2013

Mar 11, 2014

we are moving from Access 2003 to 2013 using Windows 8.1 64bits. We used Leban's code and library to create and merge pdfs. C

Creating pdfs can be done with built-in functionality in Access 2013. But I can't find a way of merging pdfs. I've tried Leban's Dlls files but I am getting run-time error: "File not found:StrStorage.dll" do I need to do something extra to make Leban's code work on Windows 8 64bits ?

Using Images In Reports And Forms - Access 2013

Apr 29, 2015

Having trouble using .JPG images in Access 2013 reports? I inserted some images (of arrows) onto a label report. Since then, I've had problems with my DB becoming corrupted or "unstable". I can give more detail if wanted, but my main question is do y'all recommend using images in reports and forms. If so, what format?

Reports :: Access 2013 - How To Get Charts To Display Correctly

Mar 3, 2013

I've developed and used over the past 20 years to handle my home finances. It includes several charts that were probably created back in Access 2003, which I used up until a couple of weeks ago when I subscribed to Office 365 Home and set up Office 2013, including Access. Most things worked without a hitch. In fact, all my old VBA code seems to run just fine.

However, the charts don't work. The right side of chart gets cut off way short of the margin both in print preview and report view. Everything else looks fine and the data is correct.

I've fiddled and fussed and fangled with zoom, clip and stretch. I've tried to resize the chart area - it just snaps back. I've tried everything I can think of based on 20 years of fussing with Access charts - which has always been a major pain - without success.

Reports :: Access 2013 / Horizontal Limit And Adding Fields?

Sep 26, 2014

I have access 2013 windows 7, I'm trying to expand the record keeping on a database someone else designed. I've added the fields i need to the Recordsource(s) (the table, query, and working on the form as well) I can't make the report any larger it seems (its currently at 22") and i need to add another "page" worth of fields horizontally; is there a way to do that? and also to replicate the header and other key fields so they're on that 3rd page.

Queries :: Access 2013 - Filtering Report By Date?

Jan 14, 2014

Access version: 2013 / The user can click a button on the report that opens a form where they can select various filters. Once the user has selected the filters and clicks done, I have some VB code that fires which builds an SQL string with all of the filters selected. It then reopens the report with the new filter.

What I am running into issues with is one specific filter that the user can select. They can select a "from date" and "to date". Sometimes this filter returns what I want and sometimes it doesn't.

For example. I set 01/01/14 as the start date and end date as 15/01/14. <-- this works as desired. But if I put start date as 10/12/13 and end date 15/01/14 for example then it returns all previous records up to the specified end date. I.E dates such as 10/10/13 will show.

This is the VB code used to build the SQL for this filter:

Code:

newWhere = newWhere & "[FollowUpDate] > #" & Me.txtFromDateSelect & "# AND [FollowUpDate] < #" & Me.txtToDateSelect & "#" & " AND "

note: I have also tried using the between SQL syntax for querying the date to no avail and the same results.

This is the SQL that the above code creates:

Code:

[FollowUpDate] > #1/01/2014# AND [FollowUpDate] < #15/01/2014#

This only happens when I try select a start date prior to 12/12/13 (so the year is not the issue)

This happens both when I apply just the from date and to date filter and also when I mix it in with other filters. I.E Company name, product etc..

Queries :: Making A Table From A Select Query In Access 2013

Jan 21, 2014

I have made a new access 2013 database. I have created a linked table that has imported a substantial amount of data from an external data source, (an Excel spreadsheet). So far no problem. I created a select query that plucked data from the original table mentioned. Again, no problem. Then I decided to create another table, using certain fields only from the select query. Microsoft's guide tells me to start with CREATE, then Table design. I am happy to use just 4 fields from my query, but what I keep ending up with is a table, that, when I double click on it gives me the following:

ID Field1 Field2 Click to add
(New)

It is presumably expecting me to enter an ID number and it will come up with some record, but I want a complete table that should show several hundred records.

Reports :: Access Report Only Printing Some Image Files

Apr 20, 2015

I am running Access 2013. I have created a report where the tables are linked to a SQL DB

I am trying to run a sales report that includes an stored image.

I am adding an Image and then using the control source to look up the 'filepath' stored in the DB. When I run the report on screen all the images are showing but when I try to print it (including exporting to PDF or XPS) and Print Preview only 2 of the 9 images print per page. The images are around 2-4 Mb.

I'm guessing its to do with the files sizes but cannot do anything about the size.

Margin Error When Printing Reports In Access 2007

Apr 25, 2012

I am receiving the following error when printing different reports to several different printers in Access 2007: "The section width is greater than the page width, and there are no items in the additional space, so some pages may be blank. For example, the report width may be wider than the page width." According to my co-workers this issue began immediately following the upgrade to version 2007 from 2003.

Modules & VBA :: Printing Code Slowing Down Printing Reports?

Feb 25, 2014

I was having trouble just setting each report with a particular print method - for some reason they just kept forgetting their individual settings and resorting to default on the machine.

This meant reports were printing on the wrong paper, or the wrong size paper, the wrong orientation and some times refusing to print if it couldn't find the paper (which is useful in runtime as it doesn't display error messages)

So I used Reports(rpt).printer properties (I forgot where I found this) to hard code the printer properties into each print command... this meant I had to use another function to insert the variables.

So all I had to do was say:

Code:
PrintMe("Invoice","InvoiceID",iID)

and a report would print to exactly how I wanted... but it's just too slow!

See attached for full code, I have a niggling feeling it may be the function: PrinterOK, to make sure the printer exists or not.

Code:
Function PrinterOK(sPrinterName As String) As Boolean
Dim MyPrinter As Printer
PrinterOK = False
For Each MyPrinter In Printers
If MyPrinter.DeviceName = sPrinterName Then
PrinterOK = True
Exit Function
End If
Next
End Function

I know it's the printing code, because if I stop the printing and just preview then it shows up almost instantly.

Reports :: Printing Custom ActiveX Controls (Access 2007)

Sep 30, 2013

I wrote a custom ActiveX Control in C#.NET using a guide (Google ".net activex control step by step", first link on CodeProject). The control is compiled as a .dll and registered in Access 2007.

When I place the ActiveX control on a Form or Report, I can call its methods from VBA and see its output just fine.

When I open a Print Preview, only the top left corner of the control is shown, the rest is a blank white box. This does not happen with built-in ActiveX Controls (e.g. Calendar control), which print as they should.

I also tried a basic ActiveX Control build using VC++ (the sample control created by the MFC wizard), and that displays and prints correctly.

Queries :: Access 2013 Navigation Buttons - Criteria For Query Linked To Dropdown Box On Form

I had no problems doing this in Access 2010 with normal forms, but I can't link the criteria, in the query to the Navigation buttons form box. I'm tried using

[Forms]![TheNavigationTab]![NavigationSubform].[Form]![Field]

And various forms of the above... but i still can't see to tell the query to find the critiera at this location...

Access Crashes

Aug 9, 2006

Problem: Access crashes during data input in a certain form. – Not always on the same field, and not always on the first record. Sometimes I can input 2 or 3 records and it crashes on the 4th. The "modul" that the crash shows is always the msjtes40.dll

Action taken so far:

1.Checked the version of the msjtes40.dll – it’s the latest

2.reregistered the msjtes40.dll

3.Created a new DB imported everything

4.Repaired the Db

5.decompiled and compiled all the code (which I have been through with a fine comb - there is no complidated VBA on the form at all.)

6.recreated the form entirely

7.Checked the Source of the form for any funny records

8.reinstalled the entire Office XP Professional

I really don’t know what else I can do!

Access Crashes

Hello.Your help is very much appreciated.I am using ACCESS 2002 (XP).I have two access files - one program (with link tables) and the other one is the database.I created ACCESS report. When opening the report for viewing - it's all good.(DoCmd.OpenReport "_rptDetails", acViewPreview)When trying to save the report to a file - Access saves it to a file and immidiately crashes.(stDocName = "_rptDetails"DoCmd.OutputTo acReport, stDocName)when printing - it prints and crashes(stDocName = "_rptDetails"DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName, acNormal)I tried:1. To make the data source of the report a table instead of a query.2. Complied the code again.3. Copied everything into a new database.4. Created a new report from scratch.Nothing helps.Would you have any idea of what causing the problem?Thank youRoy

Access Crashes Exporting To Dbf

Jan 31, 2008

I am trying to export a table out of Access to a dbf. However, when I do this Access crashes and shuts down. I am able to export the table to any other format also I am able to export the table to dbf from another computer. My setup is XP Pro SP 2 with Office 2003 SP 3. I just moved from SP 2 to SP 3 hoping that would solve my problem, but it did not. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling office, detect and repair and a different user profile.
Any suggestion would be great. Thank you in advance.
