How might it possible to automatically add the first of the month to a table using the computer date.

So 01/01/2014 would be added as a record on that date only and not for the remainder of the month, same for 01/02/2014 etc

BTW, these are DD/MM/YYYY formats

I want code with message that can prevent user to adding a new record for an employee within specific of date through a form in the Ms Access database, but after a period of date i can, For example (after two months of the last record on the main table i can add the new record, otherwise the message will popup tell the user that this employee didn't complete tow months of last adding)

I'm working on a query ("Target Date of Completion") that takes the initial date started (from Step 1 of date started) and adds the EC (Estimated Completion) which is just shown in days. This will give an EST (Estimated Start time) for the next step in date format, which I would need the new column. Also, As you can see, the piece parts all have a different amount of steps, so this calculation would need to know when it's a different part.

I have a set of transactions with a Unique ID field and a date. I want to add a field based that gives me the sequence of events for each Unique ID in order of when it happened.

For example, if customer X has 6 transactions, the sequence field would have a number (1-6) in each record that corresponds to the order in which those transactions occurred. The first transaction would have the number 1, the second would have the number 2 and so on.

I've been asked to get some information from my database and I'm a bit stuck.

I have a list of refunds in tbl_main and each one includes a dateReceived. I make a record in either tlk_located, tlk_unableToLocate or tlk_bulk depending on the outcome when we're trying to send the money back to whoever it belongs to. Each table has a time stamp (named locatedTime, unableTime and timestamp respectively) field

My manager wants me to report how many entries were unworked on each day in the year, and what the value of them was. An entry is unworked if there is no entry in either of the 3 tables.

So I need a query that lists a range of dates, and for each date counts the number of entries where tbl_main.dateReceived is <= to that date and either has no record in located,unable or bulk or has a record with a timestamp > than the date. (It has been processed now, but hadn't been on the date we are looking at)

I can manage a query that looks at a certain date that it prompts for on each run:

I have this table that records sales events for properties, with multiple sales records for some parcels. Each parcel has unique field: MapTaxlot. I want to create a select query or make table query that shows only the most recent sale event for each parcel. Instrument_Date is the date field for the sales records.

What is the simplest method to accomplish this?

I have a query using Access 2003 accessing invoice information from a table linked from our point of sale system. The query runs perfectly displaying all info including dates if there are no specific dates indicated in the criteria. If I select a date in the criteria field I get the message "the search key was not found in any record". I used Access 97 for years and had no problem with this query. I recently changed to Access 2003 because we upgraded all computers to Windows 7. Is the search criteria format different in 2003 vs 97?

I have a query as follows :

I am looking for all records where either the field Letter_AMPI or the field ReqReceived falls between the specified date range, EXCEPT as below.

However there are cases where first there is a date for Letter_AMPI and then a few weeks letter, we get a special request for the same case which is the ReqReceived date. So for example we may get a case which has an Letter_AMPI date of 01/01/2014 (not in the date range), but a ReqReceived date of 05/10/2014 (in the date range). So I need to be able to eliminate this record because if the Letter_AMPI does not fall in the date range, it should not appear in the results.

I know that it does not work because of the OR but I need the OR to pick up the other records.

I am trying to retrieve data for a particular record.

When Project field matches a certain project number I want it to pick the record with the latest date in the date field field to select certain data fields(Owner & Rating) from that record.

Below is my attempt. However the problem is that displays all records with that project number and not just the record with the latest date.

Adding A Number To A Date [Can Date Cope]

Here's what I currently have:

- A table with a number of fields about a course
- A course commence date
- A number of days the course will take field
- No course end date

Is there a way to easy add one field to the other to:
Give end date i.e. do I need to write the code to validate all dates which bring the date over a month e.g. start date 29/sep/2007 and number of days 5.

Does date have the functionality already?

I am trying to add calculations to queries based on columns in the query... it seems to randomly expect 'Expression' or 'Group by' as column types, and Im having to create 3 sets of queries following on from each other to de-dupe data and allow filters on calculated values.

Also I've got a function which turns a date into a quarterly cohort, e.g. Oct 2013 -> 20134. I use ot on a lot of dates. I created a VBA function, CohortQ used as follows in queries:

Cohort: IIf Year([InputDate]) < 1990 or Year([InputDate]) > 2020, 0 CohortQ([InputDate]))

In the VBA, InputDate is defined as a date

Function CohortQ(InputDate As Date) As Integer
If InputDate = 0 Then
CohortQ = 0
Exit Function
End If

[Code] .....

But when I run it on a date field, it gives me a data mismatch error. I can't step through as it's working on 600K rows.
If I put the function into the query,

Cohort: IIf Year([InputDate]) < 1990 or Year([InputDate]) > 2020, 0 Year([InputDate])*10+DatePart("q",[InputDate]))

it works.

Adding 3 Weekdays To Date

I'm an Access novice! I have a table with a library loan date field defaulting with today's date and a due back field. I want the due back field to show a date 3 weekdays after the loan date. I've tried using DateAdd("w",3,Date()) but this just adds 3 days, not weekdays. Does anyone know how do I get it to skip weekends? If I need to use VBA, please supply instructions for including the code, as well as the code itself. :confused:

I have a table with the following fields.

ContractID (Autonumber)
ContractStart (Date)
Customer (Text)

The form code is:

Private sub Customer_AfterUpdate()
[ContractStart] = Date
End Sub

When i update the customer field i receive the error : "Run-time error 2465 - Microsoft Office Access can't find the field 'Date' referred to in your expression"

Any ideas? I have tried changing [ContractStart] to ContractStart and Me.ContractStart and the same happens?!

So i think it may be wise to have a message to notify us of whether it's inserted successfully or not.

This may seem basic but I need some help.

I have a table of vacinations and need to add a new record every time an animal is vacinated. I have created a form with all the fields in the table in it. But when I open it it takes me to the first record. I have had to add a button to the form to add a new record. This button then takes me to a blank form where i can input data. This is very messy and not very user friendly. Any suggestions on how i can tidy this up would be appreciated greatly.

I have just converted from 97 to 2003 and now I cannot add new records to my forms. I have checked that the allowAddtions property is set to Yes but the New record icon and menu option is grayed out. I have looked through all the form settings and I can't see what it might be.

I have a form that has a list of textboxes linked to table properties, and a subform linked to the same table. I used the command button wizard to create an add record command, but when i click on it it comes up with:

You cant go to the specified record
You may be at the end of a record set

i have checked the properties on the forms and querys and set all data entry to yes
What should i do?

I have a form that has a list box with events in it. On the same form I have two combo boxes, each with the same information; officials names. I added a subform to form1 and I want this form to store and display the information that is chosen(officials and events). How do I make this happen? It seems easy, but I just can't wrap my finger around it.
