Queries :: Assigning A Number Based On A Range Of Dates?

Mar 19, 2013

I have a table called StockTable with the following fields Location, Status, Serial, Make, Model, LastDate, DotNumber

I also have a table called FCDateRange with three fields

DateStart DateEnd and DotNumber

For example

3/7/13 - 3/13/13 - 1
3/14/13 - 3/20/13 - 2

Im trying to figure how to write a query that if the lastdate from the StockTable falls during the DateStart and DateEnd fields it will assign it the number in the DotNumber field

Value Based Upon Number Range

Apr 14, 2006

I am creating a query which determines the number of days a payment is delinquent. Is there a function I can use in a query field that would look at the numeric field and if the value of the subject field was:
< 60 Days "30-59 days"
< 90 Days "60-89 Days"
<120 Days "90-119 Days"
>=120 Days "120 Days +"

It was my understanding that the IIF function tests for a condition and can only return yes/no results. I seem to remember that SQL had something like a least or most function that would allow me to set maximum value for range of days. I apologize that my question is confusing and hope you can understand what I am trying to accomplish.
Thanks for any help

Use Vb To Create New Records Based On Number Range

Apr 16, 2014

I am looking for a way to use vb, or any other way, to allow my users to enter a railcar initial and then a number sequence and add new records to the end of the table.

For example in a form the user can enter the car initial and the number sequence
Railcar initial: GATX
Number sequence : 290001 - 290100

I would like a way to create a temp table that then has 100 records
GATX 290001
GATX 290002
GATX 290003
etc etc.

I can then use this temp table in an append query to add them to my main table.

Assigning A Range Of Numbers To A Category

Mar 27, 2006

I am working on a small database for a school to track their live and silent auction. Currently I have a table set up as follows.

Silent Auction table :
Item Number
Short Item Description
Long Item Description
there are more fields that I am not interested in right now.

Mainly what I am after right now is to do some decent reporting for generating the catalog and posting the silent auction items on the web site for viewing before the night of the event.

I need to generate a report that contains the Item Number, short and long description. I need to group on Category which corresponds to the item numbers. Example:

Item Number 100 - 110 = Class Projects
110 -199 = Live Auction Items
200 - 299 = Sports and Recreation
300 - 349 = Entertainment
and so on......

I realize that had they numbered them in the 100 range I could group in my report by 100's and everything would be pretty good however, I did not have the opportuinity to be involved in the numbering scheme.

Even if the numbers had been in the order of 100s I still would need a way to say that the 100 -110 range is Class Projects.

I think I need another table and link it but I am not sure how to set up the range of numbers for the category.

Sorry to be so wordy.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Queries :: Unable To Use Between Query Without Pulling Dates Out Of Range

Feb 19, 2014

Unable to use Between query without pulling dates out of range.I

f I set the Criteria to Between [Enter the start date:] And [Enter the end date:] and input the dates 1/2/2014 & 1/15/2014 i'm pulling data for those dates but for year 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 as well.

if I enter in Between #1/2/2014# And #1/15/2014# it gives me just the dates I requested.I need to be able to have a user use the macro and just enter in the dates they need data for.

Also, I am using the criteria on a date ime field that I have set up an expression on - CreateDate: DateValue([TABLE]![date])the date in the table is stored with time and I just need to show the date.

Queries :: Converting Mmmm Yyyy To Including All Dates In That Range In Query

Oct 14, 2014

My table has many records for each month. I am creating a report that will display only the records in one month of a year. I have been able to create a form that gives the user the choice of the Month and Year for which to create the report. The code I am using to create the combo box is:

Code:
SELECT DISTINCT Month([QTDate]) AS MoNum, Format([QTDate],"mmmm yyyy") AS MoName
FROM MainTBL
ORDER BY Month([QTDate]);

What I need to do now is create the query for the report that displays all records for the chosen month and year. If I simply reference the combo box, all it shows is mmmm yyyy and the days are missing so the query doesn't work. What do I need to do to create the query so it displays all days within the month and date selected?

Queries :: Specific Date Range Based Off Of Other Data

Jun 14, 2013

I have multiple buildings that I own. Each building earns a monetary amount each day. Some days they earn $0, some days they earn $1,000. This is all kept track in a data base in which someone manually enters the information each day.The three fields are:

Building
Date
Profit

I have narrowed a query down to one building, and I am interested in two things. How do I write a query that shows a 30 day peak (the most profitable 30 days). In other words. I want to see the following
Building: GNB Tower Date: 02/14/13 - 03/15/13 Profit: $25,162

The next thing I am interested in is a 7 day peak from within these 30 days. This shouldn't be too difficult if I can figure out how to query these 30 days, I can query 7 days out of those 30 days. So this bigger mind stumper is the first one.

out of a date range of months and months (Let's say 10/12/13 - 6-14-13).Once I figure this part out, I am sure I can figure out how to compile all buildings into one large report with their 7 day peak and 30 day peak.

Queries :: Complex Join Based On Date Range

Jul 29, 2013

Context is I have a TABLE 1 that has a record for every package shipped with various details about it, include how it shipped, and the date. Table 2 is a key to go from the ship method to a better grouping we deem service level. Table 3 is a Fuel Surcharge (FSC) Table. It includes various FSC % that vary by different service levels and different date ranges. In the end I need to know the amount of pkgs shipped (by month and servicelevel) and the relevant FSC.I have several tables in my database but we should be able to focus on 3 to explain my situation and only the relevant fields:

TABLE 1 (Main Data):
ShipDate
ShipVia

Table 2:
ShipVia
ServiceLevel
FSCType

Table 3:
FSCType
StartDate
EndDate
FSCPercent

DESIRED RESULT:
Month
ServiceLevel
FSCPercent
PkgCount

Table 1 is Left join on Table 2 based on ShipVia
Table 2 is Left join on Table 3 based on FSCType
The issue is Table 3 is dependent on Table1.ShipDate being between the date ranges as well.

There are overlapping date ranges, however they are differentiated by the FSCType field. The only semi-feasible solution I currently have is to expand Table 3 to include every date, and not date ranges. This will create an issue due to size of date ranges etc.

Queries :: Create Sums Based On Weekly Range?

Jun 26, 2014

I'm creating a query for a someone who wants quantities summed by a weekly range and correspond to a week number. This person wants Access to do something that is a simple function on Excel.

I have no clue how to do this or if Access is even made to do something like this.

This is an example of what I have so far

Quote:

P/N QTYWork DateWW (Work Week)
25COMP16/11/201428
25COMP26/20/201425
25COMP27/9/201428
25COMP36/20/201425

....And so on

My code is

Code:
SELECT dbo_JBKLG.JKPRT AS P/N, dbo_JOB.JBQOR AS QTY, CDate(Mid([JKDDT],5,2) & "/" & Right([JKDDT],2) & "/" & Left([JKDDT],4)) AS [Work Date], DatePart("ww",[Work Date]) AS [WW]
FROM dbo_JBKLG LEFT JOIN dbo_JOB ON dbo_JBKLG.JKJOB = dbo_JOB.JBJNO
GROUP BY dbo_JBKLG.JKPRT, dbo_JOB.JBQOR, CDate(Mid([JKDDT],5,2) & "/" & Right([JKDDT],2) & "/" & Left([JKDDT],4))

There are more part numbers and the data from the other parts must be in the same format in the same query.

Quote:

P/N QTY WK WW

25COMP 15506/09-06/15WW24
25COMP 22706/16-06/22WW25
25COMP 16006/23-06/29WW26
25COMP 20006/30-07/06WW27

.....And so on

Modules & VBA :: Exporting Multiple Queries Based On Date Range

Aug 29, 2013

I have recently set up a button that exports multiple queries to one Excel file, using TransferSpreadsheet code. This works great and saves a lot of time, the only thing is on many of the queries I have a date range set, so you have to enter a date range to get the results.

Is there away that once I press the button I enter the date range once and than it exports the rest of the data based on this range, rather than entering the same dates multiple times.

Queries :: Attributing Week To Date / Time Based On Specific Range

Aug 21, 2013

I have a weekly list of transactions that come in the format DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS, I need to tag these individual transactions with a week number. The problem is, I can't use the Datepart function etc. as the day is classed as running from 8am to 8am rather than midnight. I have a list of all of the weekly date ranges for a few years (with the time) so I was able to solve this problem in excel by using the Index and Match functions. However, I'm trying to automate this process as much as possible so I'd rather perform this function in Access.

Queries :: Count Number Of Dates Seen Or Zero?

May 28, 2014

I just can't seem to get this one to work right. I've got the following query. I need to count the number of Null dates or show zero if there are no Null Dates.

Code:
SELECT DISTINCTROW qryNoticeResponseNew.fldNoticeID, Count(qryNoticeResponseNew.[fldResponseSeen]) AS fldCount
FROM qryNoticeResponseNew
GROUP BY qryNoticeResponseNew.fldNoticeID;

Which is just counting the number of dates so far. It got me to thinking I need to do something like this.

Code:
SELECT DISTINCTROW qryNoticeResponseNew.fldNoticeID, IIf(IsNull(qryNoticeResponseNew.[fldResponseSeen]),1,0) AS fldCount
FROM qryNoticeResponseNew
GROUP BY qryNoticeResponseNew.fldNoticeID;

Which pops a "cannot have aggregate function in expression" error.

Queries :: Show Data - Query Based On User Selected Time And Date Range

May 17, 2013

I have a form that request information from the user (StartDate, StartTime, EndDate and EndTime) the problem is that it's not working. The only way I can get any data to show is when I remove the StartTime and EndTime. Only then will it pull the items from the StartDate and EndDate.

Here is what I have as my criteria: Between [Forms]![OpPROD_ALL]![StartTime] And [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![EndTime] And Between [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![StartDate] And [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![EndDate]

The users will be able to request a report based on a start and end date along with a start time and end time.

Side note: this is to pull date for 3rd shift (Example) 4/14/2013 10:00PM - 4/15/2013 10PM

Queries :: Calculate Total Number Of Days Between Two Dates In A Query

Feb 18, 2015

Basically I have a report that shows any 'Issues' that wasnt closed within the KPI Target.

I have the report working, but I simply want to do a count of how many days the observations overran the 'Target Date of Closure'.

The report also shows observations that are not closed but passed their Target Date of Closure. These observations will not have a 'Actual Closure Date', but I would like to still have a count of how many days its overrun closure.

This is a formula I tried to piece together but obviously not correct as it's not returning anything;

IIf(IsNull([Issues]![Actual Closure Date]),DateDiff("d",[Issues]![Target Date of Closure],
Date()),DateDiff("d",[Issues]![Target Date of Closure],[Issues]![Actual Closure Date]))
