I have a form and table called pcinfo-vendor that the customer enters some date that they need. They also need to pull up some vendor information from a table called vendorinfo Vendor name, Address, City, State, Phone #, FAX # and Email. How can I bring up the data from the vendorinfo table on to my form called pcinfo-vendor? So that the customer does not have to type in - Vendor name, Address, City, State, Phone #, FAX # and Email each time for every vendor.
I have an unbound form with an associated report. When the user hits the 'print' button on the form/screen, the report is launched in the background. In the On Load event of the report I populate the report fields from the forms field as so:
This works like a charm as long as I call the report in Print Preview mode (i.e. with acViewPreview). But if I send the report directly to the printer, none of the fields print.
I've read about using other report events to populate the fields (e.g., On Format and On Print) and also something about using TempVars to pass the data. But I haven't read anything that's clear and definitive about the full answer.
I have a time and billing database that contains a form where the user enters a beginning date and an end date and then must enter an invoice number. All this information will appear in the header of a report. The invoice number will always be different. How can I get the invoice number to print on the report? The beginning and ending date is working just fine, but I can't get the invoice number to print. I think I need to have whatever number is entered to be temporarily stored to a table, but I am not sure at all. I would appreciate any help given.
I have rectangle object positioned 'behind' several fields on a report....
I wish to be able to hide these fields depending upon access rights....
In code am I able to bring the rectangle to the front and thus hide the fields in question... to save writing a routine to hide each control individually...?
I am trying to create a form to enter data into a table that I ultimately will create a report from. I have created a blank table with the columns I need. I created an append query to add the new records and an update query and a macro to run them on click of a button. It all runs but it doesn't append anything to the table. What am I doing wrong?
I have a table that is linked into access 2003. This table is updated by personnel in another location and I have to run a weekly report on engines that are below a certain performance level.
The column heading is MGT Margin and I have to list all of the engines that are below 20 degrees.
Can I run a query that looks at this table and produces a report of all the engines that are below 20 degrees?
I currently have to cut and paste each engine from the updated spread sheet every week onto a separate spread sheet and import that into access. If a query can be used to do what I am after I can use similar principles in other reports I have to run.
I have a database that has all the employees in my company with basic information. I have a auto number set up for each person. I also have on my form a subform with information about the employee's history in the company. I have bin trying for the last couple weeks, to put a button on my form, that will open up the custom report I made for the one employee, in print preview mode. Everything I have tried gives me a error. The main error I get is The database engine could not lock the table "EmployeeT" because it is already in use by another person or process. If I open the report by itself, then I get all my employees. I am looking to just open a single report from the form I am currently looking at.
I have 2 tables. One Named EmployeeT with all the employees basic information. I have a auto number with the field name EmployeeID. The 2nd table is called IncidentT, which has its own auto number, and records all the problem/incidents with the employee. For example, lates, if the did not show up, or cancelled out of that day, etc. I have the 2 tables sharing the EmployeeID, sharing the relationship. My main form, has a lot of my information and a subform, Like i said. what I try I can get rid of that error.
The only way I got it to work without the error, is when I go into properties and change the Record Set Type to Snapshot on both the form and subform. But then I can't edit the form or subform anymore.
I`m trying to put 2 identical tables in terms of structure and layout with some identical values next to each other however I don't have unique identifier. I was thinking to import them and let access to create Id field and match them together but i wasn't successful because for some reason access changed the order of some rows. Good news is that when I import these text files into excel Im able to put them next to each other in order. How this could be achieved in Access?

I have one "Project" form with subform that displays "Contractor" details. The Contractors are stored in a table and they are associated to a table of projects (many to many relationship) through a link table. When I am in the project form and have the contractor sub form tab "activated" I would like to go to the contractor form (press a button), select a contractor and link the contractor back to the project. Question: What is the best way to do this? I have tried creating a macro but get stuck as I need to "pause" it whilst I select the Contractor... As you can see I am no whizz! What is the simplest way to do this?
I have searched the forum and have found a lot of information however I am not sure just exactly what I am looking for.
Here is my situation.
It is a spilt DB.
I have a database with a form and a subform. The Primary Key in the form is unique to company A ie ID=CompanyA-1, CompanyA-2, and so on. There is a one to many relationship to the subform.
I have three of these databases in use, all identical execpt the Primary Keys. one is CompanyA, the others are CompanyB and CompanyC.
At the end of the month I want all companies, A,B,&C to send me their Backends so I can bring them all together into one database. The master database I want to bring all three backends into has the same Front End as the other three databases.
My question is what is the best way to bring all of the data together in one database so I can use the common front end to view it.
I am assuming that since the PK for each database is different they should all cometogether without much of a problem? If I can figure out how to merge them.
recently posted a thread about a union query. I have got over that hurdle now but face a new problem which is:
When I have created a right join to bring back data from a table, if there is no data it will leave the fields blank. Is there any way I could bring back the row data of the same table.??
On this form, there is a text box for Quantity...At the end of the form, there will be a button that when pressed:The current record the data on the form is entered for is saved,A report is printed on a specific printer,I do not want the report to actual display,The number of copies it prints should be equal to what the quantity field indicates.I do have the report already created and the Quantity field is on the report (just not visible).Once this all happens, it should return the user to the form, that is blank, waiting for a new record entry.
Hi all, let me start by saying that i am not that experienced with access but find it really enjoyable and want to learn more. i dont always understand or use the right "jargon" but here goes. i have a db with 3 main tables, each table has the same layout and info inputed into it (ie, name, address, product, ref no. etc.). from each table i can print a sales reciept with all of the relevent info on it. i also print a sheet (report) with the customer names & addresses on it, used as the postal labels. i currently print 3 postal label sheets, 1 for each table. what i would like to do is print just the one report but taking the name & address data from all 3 tables. would really, really, really, really appreciate any help on this as it is beginning to frustrate me, and waste a lot of paper !!.
i'm using access from microsoft office professional plus 2007.
I have searched and searched for this on the forum but to no avail. :(
I have just installed Adobe Acrobat 6.0 and so can create PDFs. Does anyone know the code I need for a button on a form to print a report to PDF format?
I'm using Access 2010. I have a report that summarises students and the number of courses they are attending after a set date. My query lists name, course date, course description, the count being on the course description. I thought it was working until I noticed that students are listed twice if they attended courses on two separate days.
For example Liz 4 Liz 3 instead of Liz 7
I have moved the count to other fields but it then doesn't show any students at all when I run the query.
I created a query and one of the fields was "name". In the query it listed the names and then changed to the ID number of the names from the name table. The query was created using the wizard. Why did the query change to the ID number mid report and how do I get it to report only the names and not the ID number.
I have a report that opens from a command button on a form. The settings on the report are set to pop-up and modal to keep the focus on the report until closed. I like the settings as they are but I need to print the report once it pops up. As the settings go, I cannot access or use the toolbars to print the report. How can I print the report from the pop-up, modal view?
I'm not sure if this is possible in Access, but I was wondering if there is a way to automatically run an Update query when a report is printed.
More specifically, I have confirmation reports, and I want the date printed and confirmation sent fields to be updated upon printing. I have an update query ready, but because I'm not going to be the person actually doing the work, I'd like the update query to be run automatically.
