Queries :: Copy Data To Excel From Pivot Table
May 21, 2015
I have the following (simplified) normalised data table:
[Account] [SrcUD2] [Amount]
col1 row1 1000
col1 row2 500
col1 row3 500
col1 row4 1000
col1 row5 1000
col1 row6 0
col1 row7 1000
col1 row8 1000
col1 row9 0
col2 row1 100
col2 row2 1000
col2 row3 200
...
I use the query below to pivot the data into the right format for export:
Code:
TRANSFORM First(Amount)
SELECT SrcUD2
FROM source
WHERE LocName="myLoc" AND Entity="LE01" AND PeriodName="QA - 2014" AND ScenarioName="Actual"
AND (Account="col1" Or Account="col2" Or Account="col3" Or Account="col4" Or Account="col5" Or Account="col6" Or Account="col7")
AND (SrcUD2="row1" Or SrcUD2="row2" Or SrcUD2="row3" Or SrcUD2="row4" Or SrcUD2="row5" Or SrcUD2="row6" Or SrcUD2="row7" Or SrcUD2="row8" Or SrcUD2="row9")
GROUP BY SrcUD2
PIVOT Account
which yields the following table as the query result:
SrcUD1 col1 col2 col3 col4 col5 col6 col7
row1
row2
row3
row4
...
which is great except that I want to transfer the results to Excel using the CopyFormRecordset method without the metadata of column 1 (row1, row2 etc.

I have a larget transaction data set in access with Datetime column/filed.
I have been running pivot queries to excel to do analysis of the data but the datetime field is returning too many unique values for the pivot table to run.
What is the best way to reduce the datatime field to date only and where should this be done?
i.e. should I have a calculated field that trims datetime or should I set someohting up in Powerpivot?

Is there a way to append a pivot table to a table or possibly make a query based on a pivot table? I need to get a count of Part Numbers and I need the average price for all these parts. Additionally I want to ignore a count of less than 3.
Also I am having trouble filtering on the count in the pivot table... haha, so I was gonna Query on it later on.

I have a form where when the user clicks on the browse button then excel workbook filepath gets stored in the textbox as below:
Code:
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
ChooseFile
End Sub
Sub ChooseFile()
Dim fd As FileDialog
Set fd = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)
[Code] .....
Please see attached the excel workbook. Everytime the user will select Excel workbook using Browse button. Now in that file , the first sheetname will always be "Summary". I want to perform the following steps:
1. So now I want VBA code to copy the data from columns "Withdrawn","Obsolete","Updated","LitRef" from Summary sheet to the Access table named tblSummary.
2. When the data gets copied in Access table then write So VBA code that will check if the data in field LitRef in table "tblSummary" is present in field "Reference" of Access table "tblliterature" . if its present then check in the tblSummary , which corresponding fields out of "Withdrawn","Obsolete" and "Updated" stores "Y" .
3. If "Withdrawn" field value is "Y" then change the status of corresponding record of tblliteraure to "Withdrawn"
4. If "Obsolete" field value is "Y" then change the status of corresponding record of tblliteraure to "Obsolete"
5. If "Updated" field value is "Y" then change the status of corresponding record of tblliteraure to "Updated" .

I have an Access database with millions of records.I am only interested in a subset of records (250,000+) that I would like to analyze in an Excel pivot-table. My issue is; how do I best export this information to Excel.I've tried filtering and exporting, but all records are exported. I've tried copy and paste but only 65K are allowed. Is there a better way to do this, perhaps linking the Access database?

I have two tables pertaining to the same database.
Table [Purchase_Order_Details] amongst many fields have Columns - (Purchase Order #) which is the Primary Key and (Work Order #)
My second table [Order Details] also has a column (Work Order #) . Now I have added another column to this table i.e. (PurchaseOrderNo) - this column is blank as of now.
However I would like to run a query to fill the (PurchaseOrderNo) column depending upon the (Work Order #) which is present both the tables.

so I have this code for exporting all my other queries
Code:
Private Sub Command4_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_cmdTest_Click
'Must 1st set a Reference to the Microsoft Office XX.X Object Library
Dim dlgOpen As FileDialog
Dim strExportPath As String
Const conOBJECT_TO_EXPORT As String = "qryGEM"
[code]...
The codes work perfectly fine but it doesnt work well for pivot table view. What should I add to the add to make it work? I dont want pivot table in datasheet. I did try the codes posted by other people but it works well for if I have only ONE QUERY to export. As you can see, the above codes are for exporting more than one query.

Hello,
sorry to post again my question but just cannot find a solution.
I have a table and would like to copy data into a template in excel. I know that the code will have to make a copy of the template and then copy the data into the new workbook into sheet1.
My table (table1) has 3 fields: SSN, FNAME and LNAME.
I want to copy these fields into cells B1 (for SSN), B2 (for FNAME) and B3 (for LNAME).
I will use a combo to select the recorset to copy.
My problem is how to copy data into the template. I understand that it is necessary to run a copy of the template and then copy the data into the new xls file.
Is there a way I can do this via code? Code help is appreciated. Thank you.

I need to create a Pivot Chart using the data from more than one table.
The main table has fields including 'Job name', 'task name' and 'hours worked'.
The second table (linked to the first by 'task name') has a field 'allocated hours'.
I would like to plot the 'total time worked' against 'allocated hours' (in a stacked bar style chart), in order to monitor time usage.

I searched the internet and this forum for the answer to this. I did find the exact question posted in this forum way back in 2002 but there was no reponse...
When updating an Excel Pivot table using an Access Union Query as it's source, I receive the message "[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too Few Parameters".
I found a rather elegant solution here (http://groups.google.co.uk/group/microsoft.public.excel.querydao/browse_thread/thread/1ca76034adc10c1a/204261bda38c118c) Unfortunately, this appears only to work for Access 2003. Does anyone have a solution for Access 2000?
Perhaps I should insist that our IT department upgrade. :p
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have a PivotTable that I am trying to put together that will give me the following:
Types of Payments - Left
Accounts Where Payments came from - Top
Amount of Payments - Data
I want it to look like a spreadsheet where it will show me all the Types of Payments even though I don't have any data in there. Almost like an Excel Spreadsheet but I want it in Access. I was able to get the Columns to show up even though I had some blanks but now I need the Rows to show up.

I have a form built with multiple buttons. Once the user clicks the button and enters their parameter, I am using VBA to export the data to an excel pivot table. I would like to turn the subtotals to false so as the user clicks the check boxes in the pivot there are not any totals, subtotals, or grand totals. I am not sure how to add that to an existing query?

To keep it short and sweet, my query set up is: Employee, Team Name, and then I have the same field in the column as I do in the data and it presents pass/fail data. I have the data shown as a percent of the row so that there is a success rate shown but I want to remove the grand totals from the rows because it is obviously going to be 100% every time and it's unnecessary.

I need some simple code that will copy an Excel file or a table in Access to a specific location on an FTP server. I would think this would be a very simple task, but I have yet to find any sample code that is *simple*. I have seen lots of code that requires downloading this dll or that mda, but the examples don't work. There must be something built into MS Access 2010 that will allow a file to be uploaded to an FTP site.
All the variables are known:
The FTP location (it never changes)
The FTP Username and Password (they never change)
The destination folder on the FTP site (it never changes)
The File type (it never changes)
The File name (available from the form in Access from which this will be executed)
I can either produce an output file, then copy it to the FTP site, or I can export the table directly to the FTP site with the file name for that day.
This seems to be a very simple task with no simple solution. Currently I am using an FTP app to get the file to the FTP site, but I would like to automate this. The process that creates the output file is already automated, so I would just like to add this to the existing code as its own module.
I'm looking for a simple command on the idea of:
DoCmd.FTPFile, acExel, TableName, FTPFilePath, FTPFileName, Username, Password, acUpload
just made all that above up and none of it is a real function/command in VBA, but is just the kind of thing I'm looking for.
I would think that since I can download and XML file from an FTP site that it should be child's play to upload a simple file to an FTP site, but I can't figure it out.

I am using Excel/VBA as a frontend and Access backend. The sheet2 stores the queue name and Queue number. We have to update the sheet1 from column L to column O by looking for the values from the Access table for the date selected from the comboboxes. Now In sheet 2 , it says Queue number and in actual in access table it is the combination of Type & Type1 & Type2. So we have to look for Type & Type1 & Type2 in the table and find out total Batches ,Total Envelopes,Total documents and total pages and then store the values in the ExcelSheet1 from column L to column O.
The following formulas will be used in the select statment:
Total Batches = count(BatchNo) for date selected
Total Envelopes=sum(Envelopes) for date selected
Total Documents=sum(Cases) for date selected
Total Pages=sum(Pages) for date selected

I have an MS Access accdb with linked SQL Server 2012 ODBC tables. I am working on a procedure to copy data from local tables to these linked tables (identical schema). I did a simple
Code:
DoCmd.RunSQL "INSERT INTO linkedTable SELECT * FROM localTable"
This works, but is very slow. Way too slow. (INSERT copies the data one record at a time).
I would like to copy the data in a bulk operation, or operations that I can execute programmatically.
