Queries :: Count More Than One Column In A Table?
Aug 25, 2014
I have attached a file with Table, Current Result & Desired Result.
I have a table with Month, A, B to G with True or False check box inputs, what i need is on every month, in each category what is the total False;
In the past, i created a count query for each category like A to G and then finally link it. So i want to simplify it and i used below SQL but its giving me the result but not in a good format
SQL used
SELECT Tbl_DateMonth.[Month], Count(*) AS A, '' as DA_FIEPending, '' as B,'' as DA_PFMEAPending
FROM Tbl_DateMonth LEFT JOIN ([MasterTable_ EngineeringChanges] LEFT JOIN [MHEX Processors Update] ON
FROM Tbl_DateMonth LEFT JOIN ([Table1] LEFT JOIN [Table2] ON [Table1].UniqueID = [Table2].[Unique Id]) ON Tbl_DateMonth.[Effective Month] = [Table1].[Effective Month]
[Code] .....

I have one table with one column that I am trying to extract data from.What I would like to do with the Column is split it into a few counts. The Column has numbers in it with KB usage. What i'm trying to do is count the amount of users that use say 0. Then have a column next to it that count say 500 >= 2000 and so on. This is completely baffling me as to why I can't seem to do this. I've even redesigned the database to see if I could fix this problem, but no luck I can build a query for this to be done sepearetly, but can't seem to find a way to put it into one query.
SELECT Count([test Usage].StaffPhoneID) AS CountOfStaffPhoneID, [test Usage].[Nov-14], [test Usage].[Nov-14], Count([test Usage].StaffPhoneID) AS CountOfStaffPhoneID1
FROM [test Usage]
GROUP BY [test Usage].[Nov-14], [test Usage].[Nov-14]
HAVING ((([test Usage].[Nov-14])=0) AND (([test Usage].[Nov-14])>=500));

I have a bunch of records in 1 table. Some records could have 1 duplicate field. What I am trying to do is create a query that produces the total or count in a new column. For example:
ID
FName
SName
Account#
If account appears more than once, I would like a new column to count the number of times in total that record appears. Then use this in a report afterwards.
Is this possible?

i am trying top create a stock take form. the form is now set up so each time an item is scanned a new record is created in the tblStockUpdate. i ow need to create an update query that updates tblItems with the correct quantities.
the relational data will be the barcode and is unique to each record in tblItems. because each time an item is scanned a new record is created i need to count records grouped by barcode or sum as each new record has a 1 as default in the qty column.i have created a qry that sums the records by group(Barcode) but now i need to update the tblItems quantities. update queries have always troubled me and this one is beating me at present.

I have 2 tables. tblOrders and tblOrdersItems. tblOrdersItems is the child and tbl Orders is the parent. the linking field is OrderID.
I am wanting to count all the OrderID in tblOrders. the criteria i need is EmployeeListID which is stored in tblOrdersItems.
When I put these tables into query design, add the criteria, grouping(see below)
Code:
SELECT tblOrders.OrderID
FROM tblEmployeeList INNER JOIN (tblOrders INNER JOIN tblOrdersItems ON tblOrders.OrderID = tblOrdersItems.OrderID) ON tblEmployeeList.EmployeeListID = tblOrdersItems.Employee
WHERE (((tblOrders.OrderDate)>Date()) AND ((tblEmployeeList.EmployeeListID)=[Forms]![rptReportsMainScreen]![txtEmployees]))
GROUP BY tblOrders.OrderID;
I get (record count at bottom of query screen) 87 records. then i add a field to give me the count so i can then use it i get many more.
How to get the count working. i have uploaded the relevant tbl and my attempted query.

I have 2 or 3 Queries which are run specifically export data to an Excel file required by external agencies.The queries contain column headings, required by the agencies, which are not derived from Table fields. Obviosly, no record data is produced for these columns.When the queries are run, the dreaded 'Enter Parameter Value' message appears for each to the additional column headings.
The following is a copy of the SQL Code for one such Query;
SELECT DISTINCTROW [Name1] AS Title, [Mail List].[First Name], [Mail List].Surname, [Mail List].[Address 1], [Mail List].PostCode, [Name2] AS [Aggregated Donations], [Name3] AS [Sponsored Event], [Mail List].SubDate, Sum([Mail List].[ Recd]) AS [SumOf Recd]
FROM [Mail List]
GROUP BY [Name1], [Mail List].[First Name], [Mail List].Surname, [Mail List].[Address 1], [Mail List].PostCode, [Name2], [Name3], [Mail List].SubDate, [Mail List].[Gift Aid]
HAVING ((([Mail List].SubDate)>#4/4/2014# And ([Mail List].SubDate)<#4/6/2015#) AND (([Mail List].[Gift Aid])=True));
Is there not some way in which these columns can be defined in Property Sheet such that this error message is prevented?

I am trying to get a count from a table, but only for a certain time period. Here is a little bit of my table:
STRMIDtrDateDT trDT
1617 3/25/2015 7:30:00 PM0
1530 1/8/2015 4:40:00 AM10
1532 1/12/2015 9:20:00 AM60
1533 1/14/2015 4:50:00 AM1
What I am currently doing is querying a table for the Count(*) for the day before. This works all well and good, but now I am wanting to break it down by a time range from the trDateDT field.

I'm trying to do a query to count corresponding records in another table. It works except for returning zeros. I've tried using NZ and switching the type of join, but to no avail.
Here's what I have:
Query A has 3 columns (FU kids)
AlphaID
DtcCtr (a Location Code)
DlsDtc (a Date of change)
Table A has many columns, but I'm only using a few. (dbo_MNCPSTNote)
AlphaID
DtcCtr (the same Location Code)
ServDate (the date I'm trying to count)
Here's what I have:
SELECT [FU kids].AlphaID, [FU kids].DtcCtr, Count(dbo_MNCPSTNote.ServDate) AS CountOfServDate
FROM dbo_MNCPSTNote RIGHT JOIN [FU kids] ON dbo_MNCPSTNote.AlphaID = [FU kids].AlphaID
WHERE (((dbo_MNCPSTNote.Center)=[FU kids]![DtcCtr])) OR (((dbo_MNCPSTNote.ServDate)>[FU kids]![DlsDtc]))
GROUP BY [FU kids].AlphaID, [FU kids].DtcCtr;
I want to know the count, including zero, of the number of records based on ServDate for each AlphaID in Query A.
I didn't create the tables and have no control over how they are designed/organized.

I have two tables pertaining to the same database.
Table [Purchase_Order_Details] amongst many fields have Columns - (Purchase Order #) which is the Primary Key and (Work Order #)
My second table [Order Details] also has a column (Work Order #) . Now I have added another column to this table i.e. (PurchaseOrderNo) - this column is blank as of now.
However I would like to run a query to fill the (PurchaseOrderNo) column depending upon the (Work Order #) which is present both the tables.

I am working with other data that has been created by someone else.
There are a number of columns with the same information in (a serial number). What I need to do is get this into one long column so that I can run other queries from it.
So far I have tried using this SQL:
SELECT A1-TX1 POWER AMPLIFIER 1
FROM SM_Cabinet_T
UNION ALL
SELECT A1-TX1 POWER AMPLIFIER 2
FROM SM_Cabinet_T
[Code] .....
But it is not working - Is it to do with the field names or am I entering something incorrectly?

Not sure if there is a quick answer but I am trying to complete a crosstab query that references a lookup table. I cannot remove the lookup tables because the database was designed by a consultant. The lookup table is referenced as the column heading. The query works fine until I change the column headings in the properties box - it returns the column headings but there are no values. Am I doing something simple wrong or is it having troubles because it is a lookup table for column headings.

I have a small problem: I have a table with over 20 columns. In every column there are some 1's, but the other cells or tuples are empty. In these empty cells I want to write a 0. So I need an UPDATE query.
But what should I write for the WHERE condition? So he should check every cell and if there's no 1, write a 0.

How to take the results of query and copy them to a column in a table?
I am using sharepoint and ms access together, and Sharpoint in this instance will not reference the result of the query. I can only use table fields with Sharepoint...major pain....
Example, I need riders name, weight and height from the column in ALL INfo query to automatically fill the column table in ALL Info
queryreservations!AllINfo.value=tablereservations! Allinfo.value
and how to loop through records that are not filled out already?
seems like it should be a simple Do.command but I am not sure how to code it..

FastWay: IIf([TableB].[ID]= 'T3' AND [TableB].[ID]= 'T4' AND [TableB].[ID]= 'T5',[TableA].[Count])
My expression keep gives me the error.

I am using an existing database which allows my company to track claims information. One report my supervisor has asked for is a table which shows the counts of each kind of event occurring at a district level by department. For example, the classifications are injury classes like FSA, so I need to design a report which says facility a has 3 fsa's in the Wireline department in a table format. I have been looking into union queries as suggested by other sites but nothing seems to work. My labels are District, Analysis Code and Department.

I have a master table with all of my Site Names in it. I have a collection table that when a barcode is scanned it records the site name as being received. I built a query that counts the number of times the site name has been received.
What I want to do is list all of my sites from the master then display the count next to the corresponding site name. This will identify those sites that did not send in an item. Is there criteria in the query I could use so that 1) I could list all of my sites from the master table and then the count can be displayed from the collection table next to the correct Site Name?

I have three tables: First, Second, and Third.The tables Second and Third each have a column with a default value of "X".I'm creating a query that selects fields from First table that JOIN with corresponding fields from Second and Third, so that all records from First are represented and only matching records from Second and Thirdare returned. I also select the "X" fields from Second and Third.
So I run the query: and the "X" column from Second only displays "X" for records that have a match in Second (since I mean for these fields to be quick indicators for if the record also appears in the other tables, this is my ideal result). However, the "X" column from Thirddisplays "X" for all rows, regardless of whether the record has a match in Third or not.
I can get more specific if need be, but I really can't tell why the one is displaying according to matching records but the other is always on. The JOINs are set correctly and the properties for the columns all check out.
