Queries :: Count Records Based On Part Of Field Only
Mar 26, 2014
We have a field that we track paperwork with that is 9 characters. The first 4 characters are a 'julian date', the 5th character is a dash and the last 4 characters are sequential.
Example:
For today, we would use 4085-0001, 4085-0002, 4085-0003, etc.
For yesterday: 4084-0001, 4084-0002, etc.
I have a query set up that will pull records with a julian date of today-1 and today-7 that works. So a result I may get:
I'm working on a table which has a country field, but this field may contain a text string consisting of more than one country, eg "France, Belgium, Spain"
I want to run a query against the table to select records for any one country, but not sure how to do this.
I did a calculation in a query that gives me how many minutes/hours it took to process records. Now what I need to do is show how many records took only 0-2 hours to process. 2-4 hours to process. 4-6 hours to process etc.
I need to count records based on multiple criteria from two different tables. I have two tables (i.e. "tblTasks" and "tblTaskHistory"). The tables have a one-to-many relationship based on the "TaskID" field. "tblTasks" has a field called "AssignedTo" and "tblTaskHistory" has a field called "TaskStatus". I need to know how many tasks have been "reopened", the "reopened" status is located in the "TaskStatus" field in "tblTaskHistory". I need this count against a unique listing of employees which can be found in the "AssignedTo" field in "tblTasks".
i''m currently trying to count the amount of records that fall in each month in the date complete field. i am currently using a count query and it it bringing up the dates not the month.
Each each record in table1 has a unique four character (alpha-numeric) code to identify it. The first two numbers of this code represent the group it is in. (Ie. 15AB and 1502 are both grouped together) The second table stores values that apply to the entire group. I need to create a relationship between these two tables based on the first two characters in the ID field.
Things I've tried: * Making a calculated field with left$() formula - Access doesn't allow relationships on calculated fields * Create a new field for just the first two characters and create a data macro for after update and after insert to update that field with the expression - cannot edit the field the user is on
The 'key' fields are a composite key of primary key fields from other separate tables. I have a form that generates a new 'Key 1' record and I would like to make a query that creates all possible 'Key 2' and 'Key 3' results (new combinations) while key 1 stays the same. How would I go about doing this? I know I can be done.
I cannot really give any real data as I haven't received it yet.
In this table it has a bookingID, CustomerID and some other none relevant details.
The CustomerID comes from table tblCustomer. i.e a customerID must exist in the customer table to be allowed in the bookings table tblBookings
A customer can exist in tblCustomer without existing in the booking table.
I am trying to write a query that will list each and every customer ID in the tblCustomer and count the number of bookings that that customer has (even if it is zero).
I have a query that will count the bookings if they exist in the booking table and display the number of times that a customer appears in the bookings table.
SELECT tblBookings.CustomerID, Count(tblBookings.CustomerID) AS NoOfBookings FROM tblBookings GROUP BY tblBookings.CustomerID;
How do I create a query that will do this but list all customers even if they don't exist in the bookings table (but obviously occur in the customers table)
I am trying to create a similar query where all bookings per hotel are listed even if no bookings are made for that hotel. I am guessing the answer is the same as above.
The Ritz. Bookings 0 The Hilton. Bookings 3 The Carlton. Bookings 0 The Lowry. Bookings 2
I have a table - RDC/NDC - that holds details about various warehouses, including a field - [Short_Code] (TEXT) - to hold the warehouse short code or ID.
I have an import table - PickDataImport - that contains details of goods picked, including a field - ToAssignRef (TEXT) - that is made up of 3 elements; Type-Short_Code-Date (EG GREEN-MAN-210215).
I am trying to create a query that will return the warehouse name from RDC/NDC by looking up the depot short code in the ToAssignRef.
The Type element of ToAssignRef can be any length of text.
I am thinking i need to use HAVING or IN (or a combination) but everything i try fails - either blank or errors.
I am trying to group records in a query and count them. I have records containing ABC12345
ABC67890 ABE12345 ABE67890
Basically the third letter is what I need to group on so that I can count the number of records with ABC, ABE and any other variant of the third letter but with the numbers all varying all over the place.In the example above I want to find ABC 2 and ABE 2.
I have a report that I am trying to complete based on several queries. I am trying to count the number of records based on certain criteria and using the following DCount.
=DCount("[Calculated time]","IPG1","[Calculated Time] <= 0.04" And [Ship-to party] In ("SN00207PJZ","SN09162XXX","SN09324XXX"))
I want to count the number of IPG1 records that are under .04 and have the Ship-to party of the ones listed. I have tried everything that I can think of to get it to work but can's seem to get it to. I figure it's something easy but I don't see it.
In the fields of the table, among others, there is a date field which represents the starting date of the flat availability. I'd like to create a query which displays the available nights per flat for each month in the current year. For example, Flat1 is available from 11.08.2014, then I'd like to see in the query result 20 nights for August and 30 for September, 31 for October and so on.I created a query which displays only the dates for the current year. Then I joined this query with the Flats table, the join condition is query.date >= flat.valid_from_date and displayed 1 in each row in the result as night. This way, I have the available flats for each day with 1 as available night. Then I tried to summarize the number of nights by month and flat.
Code: ' count records in query Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim db As Database Dim strSQL As String Dim beginDatum As String Dim eindDatum As String Set db = CurrentDb
want my query to count only records that are not duplicated based on a set of criteria.I have a table with customer IDs and Call dates and the employee ID. I want a count of the call dates for each customer ID for each employee. However I only want to count as one occurrence if multiple calls happened on the same day. For example
I have 4 fields I'm trying to combine, but I need to add spaces between field 1 and the rest of them. The total character count needs to be 22 including the spaces.
Example:
Field 1: THE
Field 2: 1234
Field 3: BOAT
Field 4: 0001
End Result: THE 1234BOAT0001
Need to add 7 spaces to equal 22 characters.
Fields 1, 2, and 3 can vary in number of characters.
I know I can use concatenation and a date function for the first and third fields, so my main question is the proper syntax in order to get this layout.
I have a bunch of records in 1 table. Some records could have 1 duplicate field. What I am trying to do is create a query that produces the total or count in a new column. For example:
ID FName SName Account#
If account appears more than once, I would like a new column to count the number of times in total that record appears. Then use this in a report afterwards.
How do you grab a custom Fiscal Year's values based on the system clock's date?
I am building a query where I want to see the number of closed cases based on the current custom fiscal year with the system clocks date. The report that it feeds only cares about the current FY.
I need the System Clock's FY value in this query
Code: SELECT shortname AS Station, NZ(TotalCount.TotalCases,0) AS [Cases Complete] FROM StationList LEFT JOIN (SELECT station, count([Open Issues].ID) AS TotalCases FROM [Open Issues] WHERE [Status]="Closed" GROUP BY Station) AS TotalCount ON StationList.shortname =TotalCount.station;
Within the Query Open Issues I have the FY broken up
Most employees have 10 to 15 rows. I only want to pull ALL rows for employees ONLY if there is a distinct count from DATE_PAID greater than 1. There are cases where an employee might have two pay checks generarted for the same PAY_DATE.
I am wanting to display in a text box or on my report the total number or records in my database. Also I have some buttons that filter the results a little, I'm wanting to display the number after I hit the button(s). Would I just add the query to the end of each button I have?
I'm trying to do a query to count corresponding records in another table. It works except for returning zeros. I've tried using NZ and switching the type of join, but to no avail.
Here's what I have:
Query A has 3 columns (FU kids) AlphaID DtcCtr (a Location Code) DlsDtc (a Date of change)
Table A has many columns, but I'm only using a few. (dbo_MNCPSTNote) AlphaID DtcCtr (the same Location Code) ServDate (the date I'm trying to count)
Here's what I have:
SELECT [FU kids].AlphaID, [FU kids].DtcCtr, Count(dbo_MNCPSTNote.ServDate) AS CountOfServDate FROM dbo_MNCPSTNote RIGHT JOIN [FU kids] ON dbo_MNCPSTNote.AlphaID = [FU kids].AlphaID WHERE (((dbo_MNCPSTNote.Center)=[FU kids]![DtcCtr])) OR (((dbo_MNCPSTNote.ServDate)>[FU kids]![DlsDtc])) GROUP BY [FU kids].AlphaID, [FU kids].DtcCtr;
I want to know the count, including zero, of the number of records based on ServDate for each AlphaID in Query A.
I didn't create the tables and have no control over how they are designed/organized.
How do I count the number of records with values within specified ranges?
My database contains a field with values ranging from say 1 to 1000. I need to write a query to show count the number of records with values in ranges I specify in the query.
I'm looking for output such as
<100 - 50 records 101 - 500 - 30 records 501 -1000 - 50 records
