Queries :: DLookUp To Identify Base Cost Of Show

I have a table that holds information for a type of show and the base cost of the show. I am trying to make a query that gathers information for all the shows in the table and uses the Dlookup function to identify the base cost of that show. This will in turn be used in the same query to create a quote, but I can not get the Dlookup function to work and I am sure that I may be doing it very wrong.

The table is called ShowList. That table contains 3 fields, ID, Show Type, and Cost.

The query is called Venue Cost and will have a series of fields that work to develop some math on all items from another table called Venue Info. Venue Info uses ShowList to select the type of show.

What I want the query to do is look up the Show type from VenueInfo and then look up the base cost of the show type from ShowList. What I have been using is not working but is as follows:

DLookUp("Cost","ShowList","[Cost] =" & "[Venue Cost]![Venue Type]")

I have a combo box in a sub form with three values, rate1, rate2, and rate3. I have another three fields in the sub form rate1, rate2, and rate3. The rates are dependent on the item. When I select the rate from the combo box I want a cost field to update on change to the relevant rate. I tried this to no avail:

DLOOKUP Cost From Date Less Than Or Equal To Date 1?

Cost can fluctuate through the year on a month to month basis. I want to create a report January - Feb... that has the cost for each month Table CostChange has [Date] [Item] [Cost] with a record ONLY when there is a change so: Item X has a cost in Jan and a new cost in Mar

I want report:

Jan Dlookup([Cost],[CostChange],[Date]<=1/31/2104 (should return Jan Cost)
Feb Dlookup([Cost],[CostChange],[Date]<=2/28/2104 (should return Jan Cost)
Mar Dlookup([Cost],[CostChange],[Date]<=3/31/2104 (should return Mar Cost)

What am I missing?

I have stored the costs in my database with a date they apply from so I have a series of costs which I can then refer back to using the order date to see what cost I should use at any one time. My table structure is as follows:

I have a table called Price list, and in it I have two fields, one called Service and The other called cost. The services are listed and their matching prices are listed beside.

In another table called appointments, when making an appointment, I have linked the information so that I can choose from a dropdown from the price list table, under Service type.

I need to be able to create a receipt for the appointment. How can I do that in a query format?

Queries :: Identify Missing Records Between Queries

I have a query that will draw down student details who have completed a course in a given month (May for example), i would like to use this data to identify those learners who are not enrolled on a course in the next Month (June for example). There is no field that denotes whether a student has left only that a course assosciated with their ID has a completion date within that Month. There are approx 250 records.

In my head it should work something like this

1) Identify all learners who finsihed a course in May (Identify learner ID, must have a course end date in that month)

2)Cross reference these against all those who started a course in June and identify the students that have completed in May but did not start a course in June.

Is it possible to store all those who completed (May) in a table/query and cross reference those who started in June and identify of the May completions who did not start in June?

Queries :: 2 Checkboxes In A Form - Criteria To Be 00 Or 01 When Cost Checked

So I have 2 checkboxs in a form. Future cost and LRM cost.

When future cost is checked, I want the criteria in my make table query to be 00, when LRM cost checked, I want the criteria to be 01.

But the problem is when they are both checked I can't get 00 or 01 at the same time.

I have tried different ways but none of them seem to work because with IFF, can only return one value.

I have tried to put the 2 iff in criteria and the or criteria below it exceeds the max time.

The criteria I have right now is:

IIf([Forms]![TPTC Analyzer]![P Future cost]=True And [forms]![TPTC Analyzer]![P LRM cost]=False,"00",

I have a table [PickData] in a WMS (Warehouse Management System) database, that records details of each item picked. The key fields are;

[Movement] - a unique ID for a collection of items to be picked.
[ToAssignRef] - the order ID
[Product] - the product!
[Picked] - the date/time the item was scanned
[Pick Actioned] - the date/time the [ToAssignRef] was completed
[Reason] - A code to indicate why an item could not be picked - AKA F3'd

An operative would be allocated a movement, connected to the [ToAssign Ref], containing a number of products to pick. If an item can not be picked for some reason the operative presses F3 and selects a reason (no stock, damaged etc). These F3'd items (other stock allowing) will later be picked on a different [Movement]. I need a query to identify the subsequent [Movements] and the associated fields following the occurance of an F3'd [ToAssignRef] & [Product].

I have a query, but it runs very slowly (perhaps due to the DB size currently 780K records). Is this the right approach, is there a better (faster) way to do this?

Access 2010 - I would like to use DLookup to show results values from a table and display in a unbound textbox on a form. the results from each column in the table need to be on seperate lines, a break if you may. Here is the code I have so far.

In colKeyword Column In tblKEYWORDS table match what i select in cboCategory Combo drop down box and populate txtcategories textbox on form

Queries :: Change In Column Based On Base Query Column

I have created a cross tab to extract pipeline and sales for Q1 2014, Q2 2014, Q3 2014 & Q4 2014... the user can select the quater from a multivalued text box...

Now for the final output, have created another query which pull the above four quarter in each column from the cross tab...now the problem arises when i change the quarter to Q2 2014, Q3 2014, Q4 2014 & Q1 2014..it gives an error "Microsoft office Access database does not recognizes "Query name" as a valid field name or expression".

The error is because the second layer of query does not identifies Q1 2014.

How do i make access change the column automatically when the Q1 changes to Q2...

Can't figure out why dlookup will not work for me in a query for certain dates?

Simple example to highlight the problem:

Table1 -

Read_Date----Read_Value
31/07/14-------10
01/08/14-------20
03/08/14-------30
20/08/14-------40

Query based on this table with the following calculated field:

Expr1: DLookUp("[Read_value]","Table1","Read_Date=#" &[Read_Date]& "#")

Query output -

Read_Date-----Expr1
31/07/14--------10
01/08/14
03/08/14
20/08/14--------40

Will not return a value for 01/08/14 or 03/08/14 (dd/mm/yy)

If you try it with many dates its skips several and I cannot see a pattern.

I read a lot about retrieving the LAST generated Identity from an SQL-server table. Everythings seems to work, but I get a wrong result.It seems that SELECT SCOPE_Identity does not work with access when working with such a code for example:

strsql = "INSERT INTO tbltest ( myDate ) " _
& "SELECT '" & dteDate & "' AS dte; SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() AS TestID; "
Call SQL_PassThrough(strsql,"myTest_PT")

2nd parameter is an existing PT-Query with the connection and return values=yes. If no 2nd para then there is no resultset, only the insert.

So I changed it to:

This brings me to my big surprise an Identity from ANOTHER (!!) table, but not the last one from tbltest. The code is running for test reasons in another modul and not in the one I creating the received ID.

As I have to get for sure the last ID from tblTest I cannot work with DLookup, as in my multisuer App this is not sure enough.build a construction where I get the last ID from the table where I just made my insert.

I tried using DLOOKUP to look at the value for the previous record to see if I need that value is same as current, however, since my data query are text formats, I am unable to. I get a message of mismatch data type. apply my query to look at sorted table by Location and ITEMID and if previous location = location, then my area=0?

Total Cost

Well at the moment i'm still in the design stages, but i made a database with test fields to see how it would work out best.

Basically i have to have a form with a drop down list for each type of computer componant and when selected the total price for all the items selected so far needs to show up at the bottom of the form.

Or when a button is pressed the price could be updated, that is fine too!

The way i was planning to do it was having an orders page, in which each field was a lookup to a difference table, one for each componant
Processor; ProcID, Proc name, Proc cost

Anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to load the total value for the items selected? Would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Total Cost Help

I need to create a report that shows profit/loss totals for a vehicle that I have listed in a table named "Vehicle Table". I have four columns: Cost, Shipping, Promotional expense, Repair, that I need to total and then subtract from the sales price to show the profit. Then, divide the profit by different percentages to show what I owe each salesman. I need to keep the different columns seperate and be able to increase the dollar amounts in each column as a new invoice is received for each vehicle.
For example, I have a $25.00 wash job in the "Repair column" and then I have to install a new set of tires for $450.00. The total in the "Repair Column" should now be $475.00. I can not make it add to the current balance in each of the certain columns. Would someone be so kind and help?

Bit of a strange question / problem. I am using a Dlookup between two queries. Everything runs fine is I leave the join as option 1: only include rows where the joined fields in both tables are equal. But if I change it to number 3 Include ALL records in right table in left it returns a syntax error on the query.

I can run the same query with same relationships of another table and it is fine!

I have a Dlookup which returns the correct value but returns the text of the instead of a numeric value. I have triple checked that the fields are all numeric. I suspect there is something wrong with my Dlookup syntax as it is my biggest weakness. In the following syntax what could be wrong?
