I am trying to split the year into thirds instead of the quarter. I will be needing to set the criteria to only show me the previous year from the current year. Can this be done in one query?
How do you write a MS Access query criteria that looks for records like the current year only for a date field ? I tired Like *Year(Now()), it did not work.
I'm trying to setup a query to pull only the records that have the latest date in Time Scanned for each different serial number.
I have a table with 4 fields: Serial Number, Model Number, Location and Time Scanned. Some records will have the same Serial Number repeated with different Model numbers, locations and times scanned.
I can't figure out how to query only the Last Time Scanned for each different Serial Number. I've tried using "Last" for critria on the time scanned field, but I need that for each different serial number.
It's probably easy...but I'm not able to get it. Thanks!
I'm setting up some analytical reports and i'm having a hard time with some date criteria.
I've gotten monthly averages already and what i want to do is take those monthly averages, and average them throughout the year. (the year being from the specified date on a form control back one year)
Month([Forms]![Report Runner]![Date1]) and Year([Forms]![Report Runner]![Date1]) worked great for specifying a certain month in a certain year, but what i'd like is to show all the monthly numbers for every month going back one from [Forms]![ReportRunner]![Date1].
I tried this:
Code: >(Year([Forms]![Report Runner]![Date1])) And <((Year([Forms]![Report Runner]![Date1]))-1)
Hello buddies :D, do you have any idea how to make this work?
To select data that falls within this criteria of date range between cboDate and cboDate2 (fields on my form). The date in [tblJobDetails]![timeIn] come in this format "08/17/06 10:24 AM", but the cboDate/cboDate2 (takes in date only e.g 08/17/06) what i am after is to evaluate specific hard coded time in addition to the date entered, i.e. even tho, i haven't entered time on the cboDate/cboDate2, I want specific time hard coded where e.g If i select a date range of 08/17/06 and 08/18/06 on my cboDate and cboDate2 it should really be evaluating: 08/17/06 8:00 AM to 08/18/06 8:00 AM.
This is the criteria i curentlly have on my query in design view tha works perfect in selecting date only. ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Is Null) And ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Is Null) How can I incorporate 8:00am to 8:00am into my cboDate and cboDate2. What can i do to make this happen? Your kindness will be greatly appreciated http://www.naijaryders.com/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif
All, using access 2010. How do I display the default value of a date/time field to just the current year instead of using =date() to get the full date.
I have a query based on a table which has a date field. the field both in the table and the query have the time also in the date value so when I try to query on a date I get nothing if I copy the date and time from the field I will get the result for that record if I just use the date I get nothing. I have tried the format which does display just date but if you click on the field the time is also there You must be able to query for a date only and get all the records.
I have a Date field in the format X/XX/2012 for all my records.
I want to create a field that labels each record according to its quarter. So if a date is 3/29/2012, I'd want the corresponding field entry to be: Q1 2012. If it's 3/29/2013, I'd want it to be: Q1 2013, etc.
I guess I would run an update query, but I don't know how to build the proper expression in order to update my table with a new field.
I have figured out how to create a quarter #, but I actually need output in the format mentioned above.
My question is that I wish to have a query that looks up on a name in a form (No problem got this bit) and also the Date field from the same form so that from the date :-
example 24/03/2013 only cares about the Month and Year so would look up only March in 2013
The end result would be to supply me with a number (using count) of how many times this persons name has occurred within the calendar month and year of the date supplied in the form
I have fields [DayOfYear] and [Year] can I somehow produce the dd/mm/yyyy from this. I know how to do it in Excel but the Asscess function Date() is a little different.
I.e. if [DayOfYear] =152, [Year] = 2014 then [Date] = 2/6/2014
I have a table that has entries recorded with date and time in one field, and I want to have a query that returns all records of a specified date or date range, regardless of the time in the field.
I have tried
Code: Between [StartDate:] And [EndDate:]
And
Code: Between [StartDate:] & "00:00" And [EndDate:] & "23:59"
SELECT QrySiteAlloc.Site, QrySiteAlloc.AllocYr, QrySiteAlloc.SiteAllocation, Sum(QryReserveTotals.SumOfAddtlAllocationAmt) AS SumOfSumOfAddtlAllocationAmt FROM QrySiteAlloc LEFT JOIN QryReserveTotals ON QrySiteAlloc.Site = QryReserveTotals.Site GROUP BY QrySiteAlloc.Site, QrySiteAlloc.AllocYr, QrySiteAlloc.SiteAllocation;
In the QryReserveTotals is a datereceived field.
I need the year of the date received field to match the QrySiteAlloc.AllocYr that will be selected by a parameter..
i'm trying to filter is a datetime value and it just doesn't whant to work.I tried to make a separate unbound text field to filter out the Datetime into year and then filter that field out with year but it doesn't work. What I did:
-I clicked on the control element of the unbound text field. -made a expression with this code : datepart ("YYYY", [BeginDatetime]) -(BeginDateTime is a table value) -After this one it keeps showing me this error : -"the syntax of the expression You've taken specified is invalid"
I have an inherited database with years worth of julian dates stored as numbers (e.g. days 1-366 for a leap year). I also have some fields stored as short dates. I would like to run a series of parameterized queries on this data, some using the short data and some using the "julian dates" that are actually just numbers. I have the user enter the start and end date in short date format and would like that to be converted and held in an unbound field as a number value. So far I can get the date to appear as a "julian date" (e.g. 1/1/08 appears as 1, obviously the underlying data is still 1/1/08) How do I take that 1 and convert it to number value "1"? Thanks in advance.
ID Up Time Down Time John 18:00 15:00 Kelvin 08:00 08:05 Melisa 23:00 02:00
This is the Table , i need the Query result show IF [Up Time]-[Down Time] is >=3 hrs
Like Below :
ID Up Time Down Time John 18:00 15:00 Melisa 23:00 02:00
IDUp TimeDown TimeJohn18:0015:00Melisa23:0002:00
I tried DateDiff("h",[Up Time],[Down Time]) in Field but POP out with error "Syntax error (comma) in query expression 'Table1.[DateDiff("h",[Up Time],[Down Time])]' " ...
I have a table with the following records date/time,id,barcode.id is related to another table to retrieve fname and lname and barcode is related to another table to retrieve packageid
so my query looks like date/time,fname,lname,packageid
what i need is the ability to retrieve all records for yesterday from 00:01 to 23:59 ..im sure there will be an easy way fo doing this - i also need the ability to change 23:59 to possibly 02:00 into the following day for longer shifts
I have a table with a field TDate (dd/mm/yyyy format). A query with calculated fields is lying on this table. I want to put a date criteria in this query, by a combobox in an unbound form, where the date format has to be mmmm/yyyy and has to be updated as new TDates come in.
Trying to pick up values for the combobox from the TDates field (and formatting them), I get a list with several same values. This is of course expected as there are many records on the same month, even on the same day of the month. Is there a way to have this list with unique values for each TDates month/year?
I have a database with date and time each stored in a separate field. Now I want to query the database based on a start date/time and an end date/time. I started with the code below but it only returns events within the same time range on each day when what I really need is every event from a specified date and time through a specified date and time.
SELECT myTable.ID AS myTable_ID, myDate, myTime, FirstName, LastName FROM Staff INNER JOIN myTable ON Staff.ID = myTable.StaffID WHERE myTable.myDate >= #3/2/2014# AND myTable.myDate <= #3/3/2014# AND myTable.myTime >= #8:00PM# AND myTable.myTime <= #11:00PM# ORDER BY myDate desc
In the above example what I want is every event from 3/2/2014 8:00PM until 3/3/2014 11:00PM. But what I get instead is every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/2/2014 and every event between 8:00PM and 11:00PM on 3/3/2014.
Now I want to create another variable 'Quarter' and calculate this on the basis of Date and want the output as follow
Quarter
Q1-2012
Q4-2012 Q4-2012 Q4-2012 Q4-2012
Q1-2012 Q1-2012 Q1-2012 Q1-2012 Q1-2012 Q1-2012
I was thinking of doing this with the combination of Datepart and if-elseif combinations. But as per my knowledge access donot support multiple Ifs statement and I dont want to write VBA code for the same...
