I am trying to create a list of values in a field separated by commas. I have done this in a query as follows:
[Field1]&", "&[Field2]&", "&[Field3] and so on.
However, when Field2 is null, the result is two commas between Field1 and Field2, but I only need one. What function can I use to eliminate the extra commas when fields used in the concatenation are null?
I use a Access database to import data from an email generated from google docs..When the data imports to the table it creates a "Memo Field" with several lines of carriage seperated data containing the Form Field name & answer. (ie: Firstname=John, Surname=smith, etc)Is there any way to seperate this data in the cell into seperated cells in a new record?
I have an Access Database and I want to split up one column into multiple columns. The one column has multiple rows that relate to one person, so for instance I have the following:I am taking information from both tables and I want to create a query but I need to separate out the mother, father, and guardian with the names attached
So from the Child table :
Joe Smith Address Phone
The query that I created is from two tables, the child table and the family table: ( I used the dashes just for it to be easier to read)
First Name--- Last Name--- First Name--- Last Name--- Relationship Joe ----------------Smith ----------Jane --------Doe-------------Mother Joe ----------------Smith ----------John---------Smith---------- Father
So in this scenario I need to get the name of the second parent in another column....meaning have all the parents appear on the same line for this child, and each child there after..
First Name------ Last Name------ First Name------ Last Name------ Relationship------ 2First Name------2Last Name------2Relationship Joe----------------Smith------------ Jane-------------- Doe------------- Mother-----------John---------------- Smith------------ Father
In a situation where I imported an excel file with so many columns and split them into two temp tables and they are linked using a key.
the data has a fixed part lets say
Field1....Field2.....Filed3.....Field4...then Field5.....Field6.....Field7....Field8 is the same data range as Field9...Field10...Field11...Field12. I would want to split this data into multiple rows like this
Field 1 Field2 Field3 Field4 Field5 Field6 Field7 Field8 Field 1 Field2 Field3 Field4 Field9 field10 field11 field12 and so own...
I have a tblhealthrecord that has many multiple entries for the same animalID. Would like to pull up all records from this tbl for one animal. I can sort them later but just need to know what to ask for so I can read upon them. I at first thought this could be based on date but not really since you could have multiple entries in one day.
Now my question, im trying to hide the rows of those who age is older than 26. If thats not possible maybe highlight the entire rows of those under 26, i used conditional formatting to highlight the age, but not the entire row.
I have a query that feeds a report. This report shows a "Set" and the "Charge Numbers" associated with it. Each set could have a possibility of more than one set of IT numbers. This means there could be say 2 entries for set "D7" and IT numbers for both of them.
As a result when I run the query, and say the set has 2 Charge numbers, it will bring back 2 results, with 2 charge numbers on each of them, which is correct. So if a set had 4 charge numbers assigned to it, 4 results would show with 4 charge numbers for each result.
Is there any way I can make it only show one of those results as they are identical?
im in the middle of developing a database to log DOWNTIME of various machines in the factory. Basically myself and others will use it to log breakdown details and the amount of time (in HH:MM) the machine was off.
I have a form which will list details of a certain machine in a list box which i can populate using a query.
The list box will display 3 columns: Date of Breakdown, Machine Name and Downtime
I then have a text box below this that i would like to display the TOTAL amount of downtime for that machine (The listbox may have different information in it depending on the query criteria, e.g. It might display a certain month for a certain machine).
THE ISSUE i am having is its proving to be difficult to get the correct sum of the accumulative time to display correctly in the text box.
Is there a way i can use a query to calculate the total time of a column and return a value which is formatted as time (like this hhhh:mm or dd:hh:mm) or preferably use some VBA code on the form itself to total up the DOWNTIME column of the list box and display it with the correct format in the text
I have gotten close, but as the total amount of time exceeded 24 hours, it went past 00:00. I'm assuming it treated it as a clock and went into the next day? This is NOT what i am after, i need the total amount of days, hours spent on the machine and not a time of the day.
I am trying to concatenate multiple rows into one record. I googled it and found many functions in VBA that do the job. However my problem is that my query will be linked directly to Excel file and then I get an error message saying that Excel could not recognise this function. I could potentially insert data into new table and link that table to Excel but I need to avoid end-user exposure to Access as much as possible.
So I am desperately trying to find a way of doing this without VBA code.
Example of data:
Customer Name |Order Number Smith |O101 Brown |O102 Smith |O103 Green |O104 Brown |O105
I am trying to achieve below:
Customer Name |Order Number Smith |O101, O103 Brown |O102, O105 Green |O104
I have a table where and account could have multiple rows with different data like Applied_Date and Trans_Code, and AMOUNT. The AMOUNT in two of the rows will be a positive and a negative and will be zero each other out. I am trying to create a query that will only return the the rows that do not offset each other. Here is an example of my table:
ACCOUNT CODE APPLIED_DATE AMOUNT 292020 M 5/11/2012 ($33.95) 292020 11 5/14/2012 $33.95 292020 A 5/30/2012 ($33.95)
Right now i have a qry that takes ID - Name - Order - RepeatOrder - Month - Department.
Now when i run the qry what i want is a grand total of Order/Repeat Order by Name for the Month, what is happening is the qry is creating multiple entries for different departments. I even have Department "Group by" but still causing the issue, For example:
For APR:
4/1/14 Dep A 12 2 4/1/14 Dep B 10 2
However i do not want them separated, how to i merge the data into 1 entry? 4/1/14 22 4?
I would like update a table column values separated by ; For example
1. ColumA has no data, I want to do an update and place a comma at the end 2. If ColumA has already value do not delete add new valued at the end where ; if found.
My start attempt as follow:
Code: qry_test= "UPDATE Table1 SET ColumA =" & "Enter Entered ;" & & _ " WHERE ID=" & 1 Set RS = cnnDB.Execute(qry_test)
What do I need to do to add more stuff where ; is found without delete existing value if values exist.
I am designing a bead ornament database for my mom to track inventory of beads, inventory of finished ornaments and cost/pricing. I have a table that joins the Item and bead part with the quantity of each bead part needed, it has the following fields: ItemMatlID, ItemID, BeadPartID, QtySo I have multiple rows of ItemIDs for all the BeadPartID & Qtys. Now I need a query with 1 line per Item and all BeadParts and their quantities. However, I need the BeadPart to be a row data and not a column heading. So a crosstab is out, I believe since it wants to make the BeadPart the column heading and not data in the query.
And I'd like to convert it to this: Member_IDDiagnosis - 1Diagnosis - 2Diagnosis - 3Diagnosis - 4 10000 HypothermiaFrost Bite 10001 Fatigue DehydrationExhaustion 99999 Exhaustion Hypothermia
The columns don't line up well but I am looking for each diagnosis to move into one of the 4 columns, depending on whether it is the first, second, third or fourth diagnosis associated with the member.
I have parent-child one to many data in one pair of relationships, and now I've been asked to see be able to find out what matches a defined regimen; each is also defined in a parent-child relationship.
Best is to show sample data. I'm going to show them as two tables, but the "Components" are actually in a parent-child relationship, e.g.,
PersonList -= Meds Regimen -= Meds as well
Note that PersonList and Regimen do not really have any relation; we just want to see if things are being done one of the ways they are "supposed" to be done, without a slow manual check. It's worked as set up for reports, and I really don't want to change everything to a big long list of fields, one field per med for a lot of reasons (not least of which is that is denormalizing)
Quy 1 Result: PersList T1Component Andrew Med 1 Andrew Med 2 Brett Med 1 Brett Med 3 Brett Med 4 Charles Med 2 Duane Med 1 Duane Med 4
Quy 2 Result Regimen T2Component Goody1 Med 1 Goody1 Med 3 Goody1 Med 4 Goody2 Med 1 Goody2 Med 2
I'd like to be able to do two queries - one that are "OK" one that are not. Don't need to replicate the med list, just the regimen if matching..
"Good" would return Person Regimen Andrew Goody2 (he has med 1, 3, and 4) Brett Goody1 (he has med 1 and 2)
"Bad" would return Person Charles Duane
What they "almost match" does not matter; it tells people which ones we need to check into a bit more.
I have a query which is used to pull data from 2 tables.
1. Only show the records that have 2 or more same Pat#, FName and LName. If it is a single record I would like to hide it.
2. Need to see the different dates amd know the difference.
Currently Query Looks like this.
Pat# FName LName Reason Status Date 00001 John Doe 1 1 11/13/2014 00002 Sally Doe 2 1 11/25/2014 00003 Bill Bates 1 1 11/04/2014 00003 Bill Bates 2 1 11/07/2014 00004 Jenny West 1 1 04/03/2014 00004 Jenny West 2 1 04/10/2014
The Signup reason number 1 represents the signup date and number 2 represents the time they left. SignupStatus number 1 represents a group.
So I am hoping my end goal it would look something like this.
Pat# FName LName Date 1 Date 2 Difference 00003 Bill Bates 11/04/2014 11/07/2014 3 Days 00004 Jenny West 04/03/2014 04/10/2014 7 days
I am trying to avoid using VBA or SQL. I do not know where to input it.
I tried to use the “Find Duplicates” query wizard but this did not work because it finds duplicates like last name first name, but it does not separate the dates.
