View RepliesI have an Access 2010 database with two tables and two forms. The tables are Organizations and People. Similarly, the forms are Organizations Entry Form and PeopleEntryForm. The People are linked to the Organizations table. Several people can be linked to the same organization. On my Organizations EntryForm, I created a command button to duplicate a record using the wizard. It works fine.
I did exactly the same thing on the PeopleEntryForm, but instead of copying the record, it creates a new blank record. I don't get any error messages. Is my problem due to the fact that the People table is linked to the Organizations table?
I have a code module in my interface with 3 functions that run via separate forms with user inputs. Each function is similar in design, exporting data from a generated query to excel for input into external software.
The database is split into an interface FE (Access 2007) with linked tables BE (Access 2000). I have successfully tested each of the 3 functions in my code module with a set of tables containing fake test data. However, I have discovered that if I link to a different copy of the .mdb tables, 2 of the export functions no longer work and the third one still works fine.
What is causing the problem but the part that is not working correctly is the loop.
Here is my code module:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit
Public Function CreateQCStaticChartsforReports() As Boolean
'Define variables for Static Chart creation
Dim qdf As DAO.QueryDef
Dim strSQLStatic As String
[Code] .....
What I want to do instead is open an existing .XLSM wokrbook delete or update the 7 sheets it creates and replace them with the new query results from access.
I love this code below because it works really well but now I have a new requirement. I have a workbook that has a "dashboard" sheet that looks at the sheets from acccess and summerizes the data. So, I'd like Access to open that "template" excel workbook and delete the old sheets and put in the new ones..The required sheets to keep are called "Metrics", "Validation" and "Mara"
What I was trying to do for the past few hours was another work around which was to have Access run this code, then excel run some code to import the "dashboard" formulas but I can't get it to copy to another workbook because it links to the OLD workbook..Here is the working code that needs modding:
Code:
Option Compare Database
Public Function ExportAdvanced()
Dim strWorksheet As String
Dim strWorkSheetPath As String
Dim appExcel As Excel.Application
Dim sht As Excel.Worksheet
Dim wkb As Excel.Workbook
Dim Rng As Excel.Range
Dim strTable As String
Dim strRange As String
Dim strSaveName As String
Dim strPrompt As String
Dim strTitle As String
Dim strDefault As String
[code]...
I have a form with a text field and a command button. My code works for the password part but it is not checking for the 3 times and exit code. I'm not real up oon coding and not sure what Im missing Any help would be appreciated:

I currently export a select query as a .dbf file to a particular location and file name. I would like to automate this procedure to a command button on click event. Does anyone know the code to do this or have another way for me to do this automatically? It would even be better if I could export this same Query to Crystal Report automatically.
Thanks for the help!
Export to excel on button click:
How can I export a query result into excel on a button click?
I was trying to incorporate the changes suggested by a member of this forum into my Form. I opened the Form in Design View. I clicked the Command Button and placed the mouse at the insertion point. The command button also appeared. Thereafter, nothing happened. Earlier, whenever I placed a command button, it asked for action to be performed in relation to that command button. But now nothing happens and I don't know what to do. Please tell me how I can bring back the feature.
Thanks.
I just created my very first db... I used the wizzard to create it most of it, including command buttons that permit you to move from the one form to another form/report. I saved the db to a shared drive (two people total accessing/updating it) only to find that the command buttons don't work for her. I created the db in 2003, but she has 2007. If I upgrade to 2007 and convert the db, could this solve the problem? THANKS!!

Hi,
I would like to export a table formed by a Query into a excel sheet with a Click of a Customized button. can Anyone help me how to do that.
I can do that by going to file and export to excel sheet but i need it to be done with a button of my own .
I know this topic has been discussed, but i could not find one thread on the general purpose of exporting an excel table/form to excel.
I would like to place a command button on my FORM, and let the user click this button and export the data into excel.
I tried using the transferspreadsheet method, but could not corrrectly, if at all get it working, and the help section within access2003 onlu covered importing into access from excel.
Please, if anyone has any links to sites/tutorials/ threads i misssed actually covering this topic/or thier own help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Connor
I have Acrobat PDFMaker.
In Access' file menu, there is a menu called Adobe PDF and under it, it allows you to merge multiple reports into a single PDF file.
How can I create a button that can do this?
Thanks in advance.
I have a form that I'd like to allow users to export to .xlsx via a button on the form. However I'd like to make it so that once the button is pressed, they are prompted to select a folder location before the export takes place.
I thought I would find a lot more 'how to' on this specific issue, but haven't had much luck.
currently i have to open my report and export manually to save report as pdf.
This is my code to open for specific user :
DoCmd.OpenReport "myreport", acViewPreview, , "[User_ID] = " & Me.User_ID
now I want to output my report to pdf automatically to a certain location.
how do i filter with specife userid ... by using DoCmd.OutputTo
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "myreport", acFormatPDF, "C:Userspublic empCourse " & [UserID] & " - test.pdf", False
is there any other way i accomplish this..
I get an error message when I click the setup button in the print dialog window.

Hey all,
I've attached my access file...if anyone could help I would appreciate it very much!
If you click on the Export & Email tab on my form, there is a button which describes what i want to do in the caption.
Basically...
When the button is clicked i want a warning message box to appear saying do you want to continue Yes/No. No would just cancel it.
Yes would do the following:
Export an Excel file of "Magtable" and save to C:Magazine BackupMagazine Counter.xls and W:Magazine CounterMagazine Counter.xls
Then (i dont think the order of the following matters)
Email the excel file to two people.....if its easy to do this with no data input needed by the user (ie: not having to type the subject, who its too, body or press send.....if this is too complex then that is fine..having as much in as possible would be good though)
Then I want the values in Magtable, Amount to be reset to 0 - this may have to be done before the email is sent?
BTW the company i work at uses Lotus Notes only as an email program....As long as it pops up a new email in lotus notes with the excel file as an attachment then that would probablly be enough.
Hope this makes sense :S Any help would be VERY appreciated!
Thanks!

Recently I set up a button to export a report automatically to Excel using the following code: DoCmd.outputTo acOutput Report, "Report1", acFormat.xls, "J:Insurance DeptReport1.xls", True. This works great, however I was wondering 2 things:
1. How do you set up to transfer multiple reports using the same button. EG I have reports named Report2, Report3, etc how do I add these to the code to export as well?
2. Is it possible to have them transfer to the one file but different sheets. EG Report1 would go to sheet1, Report2 to sheet 2, report3 to sheet 3 and so on?
I notice that, no matter the context, the shortcut menu button to export to Excel is always disabled. The Export drop down button is enabled, but it only shows PDF and XPS as target formats. However there is no problem in exporting to Excel from tables, queries or even reports using the ribbon tools. I want users to be able to export selected reports to Excel but I don't want to give them full access to the ribbon. I'm using Access 2007 SP3.
Update: a further curiousity. If the database is in accdb format, I can use print preview, right-click on the preview, then select Export...>Excel and that works. But the Export option isn''t available after conversion to accde format.
I have created an accdb file and saved as an accde file. The accde file opens with a form with command buttons. But the commands buttons do not work with the accde file (they do work with the accdb file). How do I get them working.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an Access 2007 database which has a form on which is a button to dial the currently selected phone number. All works fine. My intention is to send out partial databases to people not having access installed and they will use the access runtime module.
When the same database is run using the runtime it does not dial and does not give an error message. It just stays the same as though I didn't press the dial button.
Hi
Please help me,
I have the form, in this form there is list of value which run query and resulting the report. For example if I have 5 item in list, i have to choose one of then and the query running and the report is print preview.
My question is,
How to export all 5 report to 5 sheet in one excel file.
I know may be the problem in format if I send to excel, but I will fix it in the excel. The most important is, I export the report to excel, each of the report in each of sheet of excel.
Thanks in advance
sorry my english is not good.
I am trying to create a button on an access form that will prompt the user to enter a search month and then export to excel all records in that database that match that month.
So, if the user prompt "what month" is October, then THE 30 records in the field [receivedate] that are in october (10/XX/XXXX) are exported to excel.
In Access, it is possible to create a query from a command button and export to excel?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two command buttons in a subform "sbfScoutRegDetails", one that launches a report and the other attaches the report pdf to an email, associated with the record ID when clicked.
Both of these buttons work fine when just the subform itself is open, but when viewing it in its main form, I get a window saying 'enter parameter value' for "Forms!sbfScoutRegDetails!ID" (this is the WHERE condition in the macro). The report then opens with all the record information blank. The full WHERE condition
Code:
[ID]=[Forms]![sbfScoutRegDetails]![ID]
Not sure if it's because of using a continuous form as a subform? I need the user to be able to view/print or email a contract to each group/contact that signs up.
