how to grab the recordset after a user has filtered a datasheet and export it to EXCEL with VBA from a Button on a form.
I've figured out how to export a pre-defined query to excel with all the fields I need. I was hoping to be able to grab the filters from the datasheet form and pass them to the query.
I have a main form with a bound Datasheet subform. The export button is on the main form and I need to grab the filtered data from the datahsheet subform.

I was having a wee look around the Export Threads and came across the following VBA Code I thought would be handy to export a Query to a new Excel workbook, and although it did export to excel, it didn't filter the query to show only the things I was wanting. Now I've managed to have it not work at all!

is ther any way to send the filtered subform's data to an Excel sheet?, I did som searching, but i can't locate anything specific
to what i am trying to do.
I have currently this code, but it is a huge dump of the database, and none of the form filters, my current MDB has the main form and it narrows down the search by clicking on the next forms links.
and on the last open form it will show a filtered result in a datasheet. this is what i am trying to export to Excel.

I am trying to run this recordset with parameter query and export to excel. Problem I am getting is it is sending the ID of employee name and exporting row wise instead of column wise.

I have a centralised database that imports data from several other databases at the click of a button to produce a "global" query of data.
This is presented as a datasheet form which I am then able to filter. This is a subform to my main form.
I have a button on my Main form with a macro to ExportWithFormatting to excel. I was under the impression that exportwithformatting exported the filtered data.
How to export my filtered query data to Excel and not the whole query data?

With below codes I am able to export recordset data to specified excel range if recordset count is 25. But I am unable to export the data greater than 25 to 2 specified range.

Hi guys, I'm a bit confused: I know that opening a bound form will bring down the whole recordset. But if I create a parametered query as the recordsource, will it still bring down the whole recordset first and only afterwards cut down to the records matching the parameters?
Example: I have a clients table with 5000 clients on a backend mdb, and my client lookup form in my frontend mdb. If I open the form looking for just client "Jim Jones" (via the parameter query), will Access bring down all 5000 clients from the backend to my frontend first, and only then seek out "Jim Jones" before discarding the rest of the recordset?
For if this is true then this whole Access business is rather unsuited for networks, even a small one. I hope you guys prove me wrong.

The table has PK and city column can be one of several. I need to create a filtered datasheet view (few columns only).
Since there are quite a few cities, I need to select one to display all the records in that city. My questions
Since it is a datasheet view I cannot use Combo Box. What to do then ?
If I use subform with a combo box, and bind the query in the subform with the selected combo text, it does not work.
here is the subform query
SELECT tblClient.ClientName, tblClient.HqCity FROM tblClient WHERE (((tblClient.HqCity)=[Forms]![frmSearchCity]![cboCity]));
I get nothing.....

I'm attempting to export some table queries to excel using the code I have posted below as a module.I am getting an error saying it cannot find my query.I have used this code to do the above on 2 queries within the same table and it works fine. I don't understand why it would not work for a different query.

how to export a query result to an Excel spreadsheet, using the DoComd as this
DoCmd.OuputTo acOutputQuery, "#query_name#", acFormatXLS, "#excel_sheet_title.xls#", True.
My problem (if you can call it that) is how to append the current date to the name of the spreadsheet. E.g.,
DoCmd.OuputTo acOutputQuery, "qry_query_all", acFormatXLS, "Query_all.xls", True....
So the spreadsheet would be Query_all_03072013.xls.

I have a query that is filtered on a form (Forms!qRosterReport!SessionID) that I need to export to XML. I can export the query unfiltered but get an error with the filtered export. I am ok with Macros but very limited with VBA.

I want to export a query into a specific worksheet in Excel. Have tried DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acExport, but it appears you can't specify an existing worksheet or cell range with a query. Some have said tables only. I want to assign this export task to a command button.
The variables are:
Query name = TrainingDataQ
Excel workbook path & name = C:UsersmeDesktop2015AccessExportTest.xlsm
Desired Excel worksheet = RawData
I think thats all you will need to know. The data in the query varies but would be no more than about 500 rows.
Also for the next time i want to run the export, some code to open that same excel file and delete the data in the RawData worksheet so that i can export new data from Access?

The time difference in access query works very fine in 18:00 (Short Time) format , but when i export to excel it came out with "########" and the value is -0.14679132479
How to solve this problem , i keep trying but it doesn't work ....

I have a form with a subform. In the form header I have combo boxes for the user to filter data. I want to add a button that they would click to export the filtered records to a table. I have the following code and get the message that records were exported successfully but when I open the table they are not there. I don't get any errors when I compile the code but I also don't get any results in the immediate window either.

I am currently working on a form that exports a query that changes after a user set filter is applied, and am able to get the filter to apply and the query to export. The problem I am having is that the worksheet that the query is copied into retains all previous data, and if the earlier query export included more records, they remain as they were, is there any way of getting them to be blank.
I want to export my query onto a worksheet that has current data, need to delete current data or delete worksheet so that only the selected data is shown.

I am using Excel and Access 2010.
I have an excel spreadsheet with 8 tabs. They are all in the same format and column order. They are employees grouped by region. My ultimate goal is to merge all of these onto one excel tab, relatively instantly. I created a master tab and tried doing array formulas and Vlookups, it worked but my spreadsheet was way too slow.
My solution? Import and link them to an Access database, step complete. Create an XML export then import into Excel.
My problem? The only way to update the excel tab with the combined tabs is to save the excel file after changes, go back into Access, re-export to XML, then go back into excel and refresh the data.
My questions, is there any way to automate this process to the point that I can change excel, save, then hit refresh on my excel tab with the XML import to auto-update?

I want to "zoom" to the underliyng data from pivot view. When in excel someone doubleclicks a field in a pivot table, it automatically creates a table containing all the lines that field were made up from. I want to achieve the same behaviour in Access.I started to think towards a VBA coda, that could be initiated from the form's double click event. It should go to datasheet view with the prpoer filter criterias.

I am wondering if there is a quicker way to export a query to excel then have the data in that query removed from the original table. (effectively cutting the data from the table and exporting to excel)
I understand that this can be done by exporting the query to excel then running the same query as a delete query to remove the data but I just wondered if this is the most efficient way.
I have experience of VB in excel but currently only use the basic macro builder in Access though if Access VB is more efficient I can easily learn.

We have a spreadsheet in Excel that I need to recreate in Access rather than link to it (not an option). I would like to create it column by column but can't even get past column 1! We have two age fields; 1) current age and 2) "show till" age. I need the datasheet to autofill column 1 beginning with the current age through the "show till" age then stop.
Column 2 begins with the current year and autofills through the "show till" age then stop.In Excel it's just a matter of adding 1 to the previous cell to create the next age or year.
