I need to group data (cases) in range like this (0-5, 6-10, 11-15 etc).
I can do this with the iif statement but this is a bit tedious.
I have two simple table:
1. Salestbl with two fields: a. customerid, b. Cases
2. Rangetbl with two fields: a. Range b. Category
The rangetbl is where i would define my range and it look like this
the range field have records 0,6,11 with corresponding category which look like this '0-5', '6-10', '11-15'
How can I use this to group my data. that is customer with x cases have group '0-5' or '6-10' etc....
Below is a simplified example of what I'm trying to achieve with a parameter query.
The source table for the query contains two fields:
Reading_Date (short date) and Use_value (integer)
The parameter query sums Use_value between two dates for various date ranges specified as 'or' criteria. SQL as follows:
SELECT Sum(Table1.Use_Value) AS SumOfUse_Value FROM Table1 WHERE (((Table1.Reading_Date) Between #1/1/2013# And #1/5/2013#)) OR (((Table1.Reading_Date) Between #1/1/2014# And #1/5/2014#));
This produces a single sum total, but I'd like the query to give a total per criteria date range. In other words to group results by criteria. As date ranges may span year change, grouping by year is not possible.
I have multiple buildings that I own. Each building earns a monetary amount each day. Some days they earn $0, some days they earn $1,000. This is all kept track in a data base in which someone manually enters the information each day.The three fields are:
Building Date Profit
I have narrowed a query down to one building, and I am interested in two things. How do I write a query that shows a 30 day peak (the most profitable 30 days). In other words. I want to see the following Building: GNB Tower Date: 02/14/13 - 03/15/13 Profit: $25,162
The next thing I am interested in is a 7 day peak from within these 30 days. This shouldn't be too difficult if I can figure out how to query these 30 days, I can query 7 days out of those 30 days. So this bigger mind stumper is the first one.
out of a date range of months and months (Let's say 10/12/13 - 6-14-13).Once I figure this part out, I am sure I can figure out how to compile all buildings into one large report with their 7 day peak and 30 day peak.
Hi, I have atable with ID ranges like this: ID1 ID2 Logo 1 50 HO 51 75 HY 76 100 GM
I want to know how I would write a SQL statement that would find which logao given a certain input. So for example, If I had th euser enter 53 from a textbox on a form it should bring back HO. Can someone please help me with this. This is the kind of thing that I tryed so far, but does not work:
SELECT Logo FROM tblLogo Where forms!frmTest!Text0 Between(ID1) (ID2);
I'm trying to create a query that will compare the data in 3 fields in a record, choose the largest (I also have a criteria to order by if more than 1 field has the same entry and it's the largest of the 3), and then group by that.The fields I will need are as follows:
PRODUCT table: ProductName Chemical ChemicalAbstract PhysicalState NFPAHealth NFPAFlammability NFPAReactivity
qryQuantityOnHand query (which doesn't link directly to the PRODUCT table, it links through associations with other tables):QOH...I will eventually need information from another table for the final reports, but I don't think it has to be included in this query.
The fields NFPAHealth, NFPAFlammability, and NFPAReactivity each may be 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4...I need to ignore blanks; if 1 of the above fields is blank, they will all be blank.For any record, I need to compare the number in those 3 fields to each other, and choose the largest number and group by that rating.
In other words, if the largest of the 3 numbers is a 3 in the NFPAFlammability field, all those products need to be grouped together.If the same number appears in at least 2 of the fields, the order that determines the grouping is: Flammability, then Health, then Reactivity..Ultimately the report will be grouped as follows:
and each of the groups will be sub-totalled.I'm stumped at trying to create the query in the first place.The added aggravation here is that we are dealing with 23 stores, each with their own mix of products. I have another table that contains the information about which products are in which store.
I have a form that request information from the user (StartDate, StartTime, EndDate and EndTime) the problem is that it's not working. The only way I can get any data to show is when I remove the StartTime and EndTime. Only then will it pull the items from the StartDate and EndDate.
Here is what I have as my criteria: Between [Forms]![OpPROD_ALL]![StartTime] And [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![EndTime] And Between [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![StartDate] And [Forms]![ OpPROD_ALL]![EndDate]
The users will be able to request a report based on a start and end date along with a start time and end time.
Side note: this is to pull date for 3rd shift (Example) 4/14/2013 10:00PM - 4/15/2013 10PM
I'm trying to group and display data on a weekly basis starting on Sunday. I'm using the following in a totals query with "Group By" Week Number: DatePart("ww",[Date])
My problem is that the results are returning some unexpected things.. March seems to have 6 weeks and the query is returning two months containing week number 14.. (as shown below).
2013 March 9 2013 March 10 2013 March 11 2013 March 12 2013 March 13 2013 March 14 2013 April 14
I have a form with textboxes and comboboxes and a Button,when button is clicked, a new query is made, with criteria based on boxes on form.For example this one :
Quote: If Not IsNull(Me.cmbType) Then Where = Where & " AND [TypeID] = " & Me.cmbType
What would be the statement for a range between to combo boxes.I have 2 comboboxes (cmbBox1 and cmbbox2), show only records equal and between the ones selected in cmbBox1 and 2.
I have about ten append queries to group various financial data to one main table.
I have used the round function (iff (Round(Nz([FIN_data]),2)) in the queries to round the original data into 2 decimal places but there is still one or two lines exceeding 2 decimal places.
What is the better approach to have only 2 decimal places for all append data?
I was just wondering if this is a possibility to do in one query or if it has to be run from a number of different queries.
I am currently developing a database from scratch for work (with very little Access experience).
The current query I am trying to run, if linked to a number of tables with different information.
What I am trying to do primarily is link stock to a specific "Host Name", "Serial Number" and "Part Description".
In the "Host Name" there is for example - A1-TX10-10001, B1-TX2-10004, C1-TX-10004 - The latter part of the name is a unique identifier number. The first part is the compartment in which the "stock" sits. So you may have all three components (A1-TX1, B1-TX2, C1-TX3) linked to the same unique identifier (10001 for example)
The serial numbers naturally are different for every single one and of course the srial numbers are linked to the "Part Description" - which will read something like....."C1-TX3 Transmitter", "B1-TX2 Combiner" etc.....
When I run the query like this the Host Name (which is also linked to the unique identifier on its own (10001) it returns everything under "A1-TX1-10001"
What I would ideally like to do is write a statement so that if the "Part Description" contains "A1-TX1" it will only return rows that contain "A1-TX1" in the Host Name and the same for "B1-TX2" and "C1-TX3" in the same query.
If "Host Name" contains "A1-TX1" to return "Part Description" to contain "A1-TX1"
Now, I know that something in the UPDATE statement does not match my select statement.What should my Update Statement be, in order to update all the columns in the joined tables?
I have a query with the following criteria in one of the fields:
>=DateAdd("m",-12,fom()) And <=DateAdd("m",1,fom())
fom is a function for first of the current month. I need this query to be specific to what month it is when its ran so i want to only have this criteria if the month is > = october. If it isnt October or greater, i want the criteria to reflect this.
>=DateAdd("m",-12,fom()) And <=fom()
Which also works by itself. But when i add it to an iif statement it always produces no results. Below is the iif statement.
Iif(month(date())>=10, >=DateAdd("m",-12,fom()) And <=DateAdd("m",1,fom()),>=DateAdd("m",-12,fom()) And <=fom())
I have also added the column name to each expression and it still doesnt produce any results.
Is it possible to clear the cotents from various records but only the values in one column. Like let's say I just want the delete the values in the Price column for a range of about 6000 records. Not the whole records just those price values.
I can't seem to find a way to do this without sitting there and pushing down and backspace over and over again.
I am trying to simply find the sum of a range of data...I have tried putting the range into a the formula, and also creating aliases for the cells but it either doesn't work or I keep getting a name error in excel and I just can't seem to get the right code:
The range I am trying to sum is: Range(Range("B2"), Range("B2").End(xlDown)).Select
And I can find the cell that I want the sum to go into by: Range("B2").End(xlDown).Offset(1, 0).Select
As I said I have tried a few things but just get this right. Should I be using Value, Formula or FormulaR1C1?
I have written a large number of queries to gather data for a quarterly monitoring form. How do I replace the dates to update them for next quarter.For example I have written a query which counts the number of new members who started in the period 01/04/2013 to 31/07/2013. How can I change this (and the other 200 queries) without opening them all individually and manually altering it. Is there an Access equivalent of Word's Find and Replace?By the way I am using Access 2000.
I am creating a Stock investment Profit and Loss Query, therefore I need to get the prices from the last day. The problem is that the last day can be a holliday or weekend when the market is closed and when it happens the query returns no price.
My question is: Is there any function or any other way I can get the last day DATE from a range of dates?
Hi I could do with some advice on how to start the following and if best to use both excel and access to achieve it.
I want to enter a range of data when I receive a bill such as date, supplier, bill amount, description, quoted price, customer job and retail price. Once I enter this I want to be able to do the following,
1.Pick a customer job and date range and get a report for all the details of bills received in relation to that customer in that time so that I can send the customer a list of items they bought in that time period and what each item cost. 2.I want to be able to compare cost prices from different suppliers and print a list of all items which shows who the preferred supplier is for each item based on the cheapest. 3.The quoted price from suppliers should automatically appear when the description and supplier has been entered. 4.There needs to be some sort of warning if the quoted price doesn’t match the bill price 5.I need to be able to get a report which gives the details for any bill which was entered that was not bought from the preferred supplier.
Some advice on pointing me in the right direction to get started is what I need and would be greatly appreciated
I used UNION ALL to get results from two queries and I Succeeded.Now I want these results to be in a date range, so I want to enter the "starting date" then the "End Date" to have may results in specific date range.This is the original code out of UNION ALL which is working fine:
SELECT Count(Patient.PatientID) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt) Not Like "")) UNION ALL SELECT Count(Patient.[PatientID]) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerRt) Not Like ""));
And this is what I tried:
SELECT Count(Patient.PatientID) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt) Not Like "")) UNION ALL SELECT Count(Patient.[PatientID]) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerRt) Not Like "") AND (PatientService.[Date of Service]) BETWEEN [Start Date] AND [End Date]);
I'm trying to produce a query that shows all records of patients that have a 'non-active' status (stored in the 'Patient Details' table) and haven't had any deliveries after 31/10/2011 (date stored in the 'Deliveries' table). I've tried a few different ways including using NOT IN (which access didn't like!) but I'm still no closer to getting the correct records.
I have two tables. One is about 160 thousand records, which is a part number, a contract price and a day the price took effect. The items appear several times. Prices go up and down over the course of the data, and items are added and dropped.The second table is a list of dated sales and quotes of those items over the past 14 months.(About 10 thousand lines)
I need to match the items with the contract price that existed on the day the quote or the sale was created, so as to demonstrate we were always at or below the contract price.
I am trying to create a simple database to keep track of employee Car Insurances and MOT information.I am trying to create a query that will show me the following:
When the field "motexpiry" is Empty OR has a date within 30 days from todays date (including if today's date is in the field) OR the date is in the past.It also needs to show records with the same criteria for the field "insuranceexpiry".
And needs to show records where the field "cowensform" is blank.These are all OR queries, so that as long as ONE of all of those criteria is met, the record shows up.Once that query works, I need a very similar query but only showing records where one or more of those criteria is met, but only if the record also has "Oldham" in the "area" field.
I can then copy that query and edit the "Oldham" bit to have a query for each of our area offices.I tried putting "Oldham" in the criteria line of the area field in the query design, but it seemed to have no affect.
