Queries :: Mail Label With No Duplicate Customer Names

I am working with an orders database and want to build a mailing label query that will not print duplicate labels.In the query I have the customer address book and the orders table. I know how to create the query to filter the year I want but how do I add the customer information as to not duplicate the customers and waste labels?
Example:
Order Date Year: ([Order Date]) Last Name
Orders Addressbook
I want to be able to bring up all sales for 2014 but have no duplicate last names.

The charity that I volunteer at has a web site through which they receive donations.
Most of the COMPANY names that they receive through their website are JUNK.
I would like to have a system to delete duplicate company names:
A = first programmatically delete all company names that are GOOGLE and this will remove about 60% of their spam
B = next group all Duplicate Company names, which will be removed manually

I have a table with all repair history in it. Unfortunately, the entry system is such that people can initiate a new record without typing in the correct customer name. So if my customer was "Fry's" it could be entered into the system as "FRYS" "Frys electronics"... etc. You wouldn't believe the ways people enter the same name. Anway, the only thing that links any of these records together is the item serial number. Though one serial number could be under a different name than the other.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to create a temp table which associates related serial numbers to a single customer name? Even if the user had to select the customer names he want's associated that would be fine.
Note: I should mention that no there is no way to get this changed on the back end. I'm stuck with the tables I have.

I am preparing mailing label for a political campaign. On my list of voters, many times two or more people are listed at a single address. By consolidating the labels (and postage) I am able to save a lot of money.
I have written a query to group these names into those with 1,2, or 3 or more/address. For labels I am able to print 2 names/label by using the FirstOfFirstname, FirstOfLastname, LastOfFirstName, LastOfLastName generated in my query. This works fine for 2 names per label.
My question concerns 3 names per label. Does anyone know how to include all 3 names? Suggestions have included using a label with "The {LastName} Family" etc. but many times there is more than one last name per residence. Other suggestions are to print individual labels for each individual and overlap the labels to show all the names but just one address. These does save postage of $.42/mailing, but seems wasteful of labels and looks a little crude besides.
What I think I need is a clever query or queries that will be the data source for the labels. I have room for up to 3 names/label. I have been thinking about printing 2 labels -- one with one name and address and another with the rest of the names but this brings up problems of getting everything on the right envelope.

I am creating a form utilizing all of the fields of my table (table1). I want the form label names to be from the description of the fields from table1. I have over 50 fields and was wondering if I could do this automatically.
Example:
table1
Field: Description:
Policy_Date Date policy began
Form
Label: Text Box:
Date policy began Policy_Date
Any help would be appreciated.

I am creating an access database for recording calls and follow ups for a company
relevant tables
mst_customers
card_call
ID from customers and customer_id from card_call have a one to many with all records of card_call
Although its more elaborate than this, lets get down to the problem
I created a form with a subform that should basically allow selection of customer and based on this, the creation of records in card_call as per customer selected. form and subform are linked by customer_id
Everything is working except a peculiar issue where if i select a customer_id it shows all relevant records + an additional record (usually 1 or 2) that just changes the customer_id for that record.
Example
customer_ID = 2 (combobox bound to column1 and showing name/column2)
output
call_ID | Customer_ID
1 | 2
2 | 2
3| 2
changing customer_id to 4 will change to
1 | 4

I have a firstName text field on a form and a Surname Text field. on the Event AfterUpdate i have this code:

I am trying to Check the table "Employee" to prevent duplicate personnel from being entered.
My code at the moment is preventing any duplicate surname, its not combining it with the FirstName.
i.e. any person with the surname "Summers" cannot be entered twice even if they have different FirstName.

Hi Again everyone,
I have a form say with 20 text boxes. I would like to have these text boxes indexed for earier access etc. So I would have them listed like so....
TxtBox(0)
TxtBox(1)
TxtBox(2) and so on......
The problem I have is that everytime I enter the name TxtBox within the form textbox control name more than once. I get the following error.
"You entered the control name "TxtBox" which is already in use."
Why can I not make Access setup an array for the text boxes? How do I do this?

I have incorporated a search form (previously posted on this forum) and it is not cooperating when there's a duplicate name on the listbox. There can be more than one, say, John Smith on the database. In order to differentiate between two John Smiths, I need to be able to see their date of birth, where they are and who assessed their work.
So, I type the name John Smith on the search box, list box shows me all the John Smiths in the database, but only shows the first John Smith's details on the relevant fields on the form. What I would like to do is to be able to click on each John Smith's name on the listbox and see their details on the relevant fields. Attached db is Access 2000.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Hi,
In a contact management DB I want to be able to record the addresses of a number of contact people and braches of the same company. In other words, a company has several branches and I want to record their different street addresses. What settings do I need to specify in the field "CompanyName" or elsewhere?
Another question is how to set a Text box, especifically "CityName," so the name of the city fill out the text box when I start typing the first letter of the city name but without using a predefined list of city names.

Hi, this is probably a very easy question for you “Access-gods” out there.
I’ve made a database (MS Access 2000) with all my clients. I collect a lot of contact info, including e-mail.
I want to make a function which opens a new mail window (Outlook 2003) and automatically puts in the e-mail from my form (In the send-to field of outlook).
Is this possible? And how?

I have a Table Sales - that lists customer and order information
Most of the customers are new - is there a way to populate Customer Name Table with a new entry each time a new customer is input into the Sales Tale
(Without having to add the custome to Customer Name Table - then going to Sales Order)
OR
Failing that - is there a way to use a list box that points to Customer Name Table (and if it doesn't find the one you want, will allow you toadd a new record) In the SAME form as you use to add to Sales Table.
So:
Date (textbox linking to form.Sales) Customer Name (List Box linking to form.CustomerName + adding the info to form.Sale)

I have a DB set up with a debtors table (Customers) and a Customer Contacts table, I was thinking of combining these two tables into one.Most of the Debtors are companies, but a few are actual people. With the current setup, i need to have both a debtor and a customer in two different tables, but with exactly the same data.

My table appears like this with the following columns:
Name| CUSTNo| ORderNo.| AcctDate| OrderDate| OrderDescription
I would like to write a ms-sql query to return the records of each customer number with the latest OrderDate. One more thing, if the customer has two separate order numbers on the same date(should be the latest date), the query should be able to pull up both the records.
I tried with the code below but its taking a long time to execute and finally hanging up MS ACCESS.

we have a huge report in our company that includes all our customers, all the visits done by our sales reps, all the products they have and if a product was out of stock in the visit or not.
I want to create a querry that exports a table with 3 columns:
1-->customer
2-->date of last visit
3-->average of out of stock products on the LAST visit
I tried to make a pivot table, managed to grab the last visit (setting the date to maximum) but the average of out of stock products were aggregated totally and not for the last day.
how to handle this in MS access 2010?

I have a very large Access application and use a hidden "main switchboard" to store data such as the current customer ID. Prior to the advent of tempvars, I embedded a key control into many query's underlying combo boxes, list boxes and forms criteria:
"Forms![main switchboard]![currentcustomerid].
The problem arises when the user quits the application on with forms using this in their underlying query(ies). As far as I can tell, the application closes forms in the order in which they were opened, so the "main switchboard" closes first. Then, for some reason, the current form has a requery and the user is presented with a prompt to enter the parameter "forms![main switchboard]![currentcustomerid]. I tested and found I could replace the criteria reference to a tempvar to "fix" the problem. I wonder if there would be a way to open every query in design view and do a search and replace on the criteria statement.

I have a database with lots of names and addresses. For the first time I am trying to set up a mail merge to do a mail shot, my problem is that I can get the mail merge wizard to work fine with the underlying address table but if I create a query to do selective mailings then mail merge comes up with nothing. The query does work and produces the required list of addresses but when I run it through the wizard it doesn't seem to be able to see anything. Any suggestions? I assume that it should work with queries..

I have n horizontal labels named Label_1 to Label_n. I'd like to assign values to the label captions by using a loop.
Something like:

However, this doesn't work. Message "Object required".

it's possible to use a union query as a mail merge? I haven't found anything that says I can't do it, but I'm not getting my merge to complete, and when I switch to a plain query (and not changing anything else) my merge is successful, so I'm thinking there might be a limitation.
