Queries :: Not Display Any Records Older Than 3 Hours
Jun 26, 2014
How to build a query in Access 2010/13 that will not display any records that are older than 3 hours? See below for more specifics.
The criteria would be based on a field that houses the time (End Time) and also a field that houses a number (Status). So, only if the field in the record says 3 (based on the Status field) then it should not display the record after 3 hours (based on the End Time field) of being changed to a 3. Is it possible to do that?
I have attached a screenshot of what I am referring to.

I did a calculation in a query that gives me how many minutes/hours it took to process records. Now what I need to do is show how many records took only 0-2 hours to process. 2-4 hours to process. 4-6 hours to process etc.

Im not sure this belongs under FOrm but most likely.The thing is I have 5 tables and 5 forms each table connected to each form.My problem is when I enter data into the form and then it saves into the table.The next time I open my program and I enter another information into the form it goes into the table but it goes over the older one I entered..SO my problem is I can only save one record into the table because it overwrites the older one. Thanx

Is there an expression to show records in a query that are older than 6 months?
At the moment I have to go into the database every month and change the criteria date ie:
<#01/09/2007#
It would be much easier if it could do this automatically with an expression.
Can anyone tell me if ones exists?
Thanks

My form has a piece of code in it that deletes records older than two years :
Code:
Dim dteExpiry As Date
Dim strSQLDelete As String
dteExpiry = DateAdd("yyyy", -2, Date)
strSQLDelete = "DELETE from tblWaarschuwingen WHERE tblWaarschuwingen.datum2 <= #" & dteExpiry & "#;"
DoCmd.RunSQL strSQLDelete
But...
As it turns out it does not only delete records older then two years, but also records related with personnel number to that record !!
Now i do relate records by personnel number (its NOT the primairy key though) but in this case its not meant to do that !

Im trying to work on an db in Access 2007 that was migrated from Access 2003 (in fact its been migrated several times starting from Access 97). It executes and runs with no problems in both versions.
The problem is when trying to open some queries (not all) - Access is unable to open the query in design mode and gives me this error :
" is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long.
However, as I cant open it - I cant check it. Im pretty sure none of the fields have invalid characters (they do have spaces) and Im not sure how long is too long....

I've built an an update query that updates a Yes/No field "Expired?" to "Yes" if the expiration date has passed i.e. if the current date is newer than the expiration date. I thought this would translate into the current date being greater than the expiration date?
UPDATE Alert
SET Alert.[Expired?] = 'Yes'
WHERE Alert.Current_Date>Alert.Expiration_Date;
When I run this, it identifies the records to be updated, but then stops updating the fields due to "a conversion failure."

My table occasionally gets a second record added for the same person. What is the easiest way to update the new record with the non-zero fields from the older record, then delete the older record? There is a unique id field as well as a timestamp, so knowing which is older isn't a problem. Is there an easy way to do this?

I am using the calender control 11.0. By this calender I can only set the date year, month and day. I can not set the clock time:Hours, minutes and seconds. Is there a calender that enables me to set the date in the format:dd-mm-yyyy HH:MM:SS, means day,month,year Hour:Minutes:Seconds.
Grateful

I am having difficulty getting a second textbox to display the correct total of hours based on a date entered into a first textbox.
Setup:
Table Name: TestTable1
Fields: 'RequestDate' & 'Hours'
Form: 'Form1'
2 Textboxes Unbound: Named 'Date' & 'Total'
What I am trying to accomplish:
Based upon a date entered into the "Date" textbox I want the "Total" textbox to display the total hours associated with that date.
What I have tried:
I have tried using, in the control source property of the "Total" textbox, many iterations of both Sum(IIF & DSum(
I am currently using the following:
=DSum("[Hours]","TestTable1","[RequestDate]='Forms! Form1!'Me.Date'")
I have tried this without the Forms designation; without the "Me" designation; Etc.
Some attempts return the Error or Name error while other efforts return a blank textbox...

Querying a field for a number of days from today's date but not had a lot of luck finding how to query this from a date in the future.
Currently I have as criteria for the relevant field:
Code:
<[Period Start (dd/mm/yy - less 5 years from financial year end)]
which prompts for a parameter but using this I have to figure out the date 5 years from the future date first and then enter this.
Surely there must be code that allows me to simply enter the date, in the prompt and this then shows me data of 5 years or older equipment!?

ok.. here is a pickle..my table layout is like so..http://www.londonheathrowcars.com/hoo.jpgthe job table stores the main job details.. every job will be in this tableSOME jobs will have incoming flight details... some wontSOME jobs will have outgoing flight details.. some wontSOME jobs will have incoming AND outgoing flight details.. some wont have anyalso SOME jobs (credit card jobs) will have credit card details.. some wontthis is the general problem i am facing..there are 2 records in my job table..jobref no. 020jobref no. 021jobref no. 020 has incoming flight details.. outgoing flight details.. and credit card details.. which means... the job ref no. 020 is present in all 4 tables..jobref no. 021 has incoming flight details.. it does not have outgoing flight details or credit card details.. which means the job ref no. 021 is present in the job table and the incoming flight table onlyi want to create a form that displays every field in the database..my idea is to make a query using all four tables.. and then the form will display the results..HOWEVER!!!!!!!!the form will only display the job ref no 020.. because job 021 is not present in all the tables...why.. is there a way around this.. cant it just display both records and if job 020 does not have card details.. just leave those fields blank.. then on this form.. if i happen to add card details to job 021.. it will just create the record in the card table using the same ref no..is that clear.. someone please enlighten me

I have a db which has a query. This query is rather simple where it filters fields based on criteria. Here is the SQL VIEW:
SELECT DSResult.STATUS, DSResult.TESTCODE, DSResult.BATCHNO, DSResult.TESTNO, DSResult.TESTDATE, DSResult.CODE
FROM DSResult
WHERE (((DSResult.STATUS)="TESTED") AND ((DSResult.TESTCODE)="41015" Or (DSResult.TESTCODE)="41016") AND ((DSResult.BATCHNO)<>"1") AND ((DSResult.TESTDATE)>=#1/18/2010#))
ORDER BY DSResult.TESTCODE, DSResult.TESTDATE, DSResult.CODE;
I need to alter this query so that where records that have the same "DSResult.CODE" and counted are greater than 20 occurrences and then display only these records sorted in DSRESULT.Code order.

i made a query to display students results after an exam. there are 12 subjects but a student chooses 8 from that. After an exam, the results are keyed in and a result slip is printed later. The problem is that the result slip displays all subjects including those not done by the student. I typed a criteria >0 in one of the fields and no records appeared. Is there a way that i can use to display only the subjects chosen and marks attained by a student and leave out the rest?

Here is my issue I am having, With the records we are pulling it is not pulling everything from the previous 24 hours. It is using the "D" to pull the information, however it is also using the default system time, so if i have a record that occured last night at 8:30 pm it is not showing up.
How do i get all of the records from the last 24 hours regardless of system time?

My colleague has a multiple table database and uses lookups for some fields. The simple query was to extract 3 fields and display all records from those fields. The result of the query was that the selected fields were listed first followed by all other fields which are usually not displayed.

I currently have a query set up which responds and filters by the date.
I use the current code in the criteria on the query for todays date less 7 days
Code:
DateAdd("d",-7,Date())
This works perfectly and I had no problem with it. However I need to adjust the criteria so it is less than 7days ago OR OLDER....
How would I go about doing that?

I am trying to build a query to show the total sum of hours a staff member has done in a certain department and the amount of sleep ins they have done. Each staff member has a unique ID. In the query I can get all the information but it shows on two lines dependent on department. I want this to show on a single line. Each employee will never have more than two departments. The query is called "QryForForum".
