Queries :: Query Not Showing Data From Table
Dec 12, 2013
I am trying to run a query and for some reason its not showing the data from the table (its blank), this is a monthly reporting I do - last months query works perfectly.
Table: log and list
Here is the SQL
SELECT log.*, UL.langue, UL.version
FROM log, (SELECT list.id, list.[langue], list.version, list.no_joueur FROM list GROUP BY list.id, list.[langue], list.version, list.no_joueur) AS UL
WHERE (((log.id)=[UL].[id]) AND ((UL.no_joueur)<90000000));
Table has all the columns.

I am working with a database and existing query from my predecessor. The field in the query appears in both the database table and the query.when I run the query it doesn't appear. Is there a limit to the number of columns in a query I easily added a new column and moved a column,

I'm having trouble with a new project I'm working on. The application is mainly going to be used to display data, which comes from a linked table. It has to be a linked table (in my opinion) because it's replaced once per week from a fresh data dump. For each of those records, though, there will be notes made in a local table named "Custom-Data". My trouble is displaying a mix of information from the linked table, "Roster", and "Custom-Data" because linked tables can't be assigned a primary key.
Essentially, when a record is pulled up, a bunch of data from "Roster" will be shown in addition to the comments from "Custom-Data".

I have three tables.
The first is my table of pupils which is linked to the second table: a list of awards and a score 1-5
My third table is the list of 10 awards.
My problem is that (in my report) I want to show all 10 awards for each pupil regardless of if they have achieved them. I'm struggling with the underlying query to always show all 10 awards.
So, little Johnny has achieved a score of 5 in two of the awards, however the report card will show blanks for the remaining awards on his report.

I would like to filter data from a table using a query (from an data input form). The objective is to output all results if input form field is empty and to output results higher or equal to the type in the field if field is not Null. The query code is as follows:
IIf(IsNull([Forms]![Form2]![MaxDiffInput]);[Maximum operational pressure (bar)];[Maximum operational pressure (bar)]>=[Forms]![Form2]![MaxDiffInput])
However, is not providing any result when the input field (MaxDiffInput) as a value.

In a table I have three fields 1. City - which is a combo box linked to a query, 2. State - a text box, 3. postal Code - a text box
When i put them on a form I use the info selected in the City box to populate the info in the State and Postcal Code boxes.
The Control source for the city is SELECT tblPostcodes.ID, tblPostcodes.Pcode, tblPostcodes.Locality, tblPostcodes.State FROM tblPostcodes;
Then on the form i put the control source of the state box as =City.column(1) and Postal code as =City.column(3)
This works fine on the form- and the information is retained - but the datasheet view of the table does not record either the State or the Postcode data that was entered. Is this because I put the control source on the form and the table is not recognising it? if this is the case how do enter it from the table?? really confused...

I have an Option Group I created (simple Yes-No) in a form that links to a Yes-No field in a table. I have the default set for this field to "Yes" in the form. The option button works when the form is first opened. If I cange the option to "No", that works. Here's the tricky part that is giving me eye twitches...
If I change the option back to "Yes", the radial button doesn't reflect the change...but it does change the table data! Why do the radial buttons stop changing? Even when I close the form and open it again, the data in the table is no longer reflected with the buttons in the form.
I have 64-bit, Access 2010.

I am relatively new to Access 2007, I am having an issue with a sub form not showing all the data from a table.
Basically I have 2 tables: Headers and Line Details, they are linked via an order number. The headers will only ever have 1 record per order number but there can be multiple records on the line details table.
I have imported the data into both tables. When I open my main form, all the data from the header file is all visable and all correct for all records. However when I look at the data in the sub form, it is only showing data for some of the records.
I have checked and the data is correctly linked, and if I change the "source object" to point directly at the table in the sub form it shows the record is there. When I point it back to my sub form it is blank.

I want to use a column in a query to show where data is missing in other fields.
In excel I have used this statement:
=IF(COUNTA(I5:J5)=2,"","error")
Basically, I have two fields PRICE and WEIGHT. I want a column in the query to show 'Error' (or any kind of flag) when either (or both) of these fields are blank.
Hope this makes sence.
Any advice?
Thanks

Okay so basically below is the table I'm linking to a list box, the field i'm focusing on is the 'Disallowed' field:
Now this is the form i'm linking it too:
As you can see the list box on the right is currently just showing the whole column under the Disallowed list, but I want it to show the specific country, obviously I'm using a single form template but the information changes depending on what country i'm on (I presume I need some kind of Query that uses whatever is shown in the Country box)
I was trying to use SELECT * from tblCountries where [Country]='"&forms!frmCountryDetail!Country&"'" but this is giving me an error from the [Country] tag so this isn't working:

My database only has one table of data so it's not complicated.I would like to create a form that can create customisable Excel exports of the data based on set conditions and exporting only select fields. URL...I have one table of data (tblCustomers) which contains all of the fields in the box above.
I would like export the data from the table to excel showing only the fields that are ticked in the box (frmCustomReport).The check boxes are named chk then whatever the field name is eg. chkLocation, chkStatus. The labels are the names of the fields in tblCustomers. Is there a way to do this in SQL or VBA?

I created a Report from a query. The query shows the correct data that should be on the Report. I created the report to sort by Field A and then sum Fields D, E, & F. None of the query data shows up on the Report. I;m stymied as to why I can see data on a query, but the ONLY data that shows up on the Report is Field A. None of the summations show. All are blank with the box outline.
I've created the report 3x thinking I did something incorrect. Whatever it is, I did it 3x!

Sales will make calls and record data using a form (frmEnquirySpeak) which will save to tblSpeak. If the call results in a meeting being booked then it also updates tblMeeting with a date of the meeting (simple stuff so far!).
A sales person might record up to 14 types of action per day, qrySpeakPerAction counts the different types of call made on a day by day basis for reporting. qrySpeakGroupedAction summarises this down to 8 categories and applies a date filter selected on a reporting form (and this works well).
I now want to include the qryMeetingsBookedPerDay (counts m_date_raised and groups by m_date_raised...eg 2 on 24/12/14, 4 on 28/12/14 etc etc) with the qrySpeakGroupedAction...
My effort so far has resulted in only dates which appear on BOTH queries showing. This may not always be the case.
Every day calls will be made, this may or may not result in a meeting. So I see there being 2 options:
1 - Query to show the count of calls on a date or date range and number of meetings booked each day that calls are made (prefer this method, it sounds simpler)
2 - qryMeetingsBookedPerDay should auto populate days which dont appear as 0 (this sounds messy and not sure what capabilities/speed are like when managers want to spot patterns/trends over multiple years?)

I have a linked table(tblxyz) having property set as ORDER BY ID DESC, ID is autonumber, so my table view gives me latest record on top.
Now I have a subform , where i am calling this Table.....
[Forms]![MainForm]![Sub_DisplayFm].SourceObject = "Table.tblxyz"
This gives me datasheet view of the table inside subform but its not showing sorted data
Interesting thing is it give sorted data view when my table is not linked and is in same access file.

I am wondering if there is a quicker way to export a query to excel then have the data in that query removed from the original table. (effectively cutting the data from the table and exporting to excel)
I understand that this can be done by exporting the query to excel then running the same query as a delete query to remove the data but I just wondered if this is the most efficient way.
I have experience of VB in excel but currently only use the basic macro builder in Access though if Access VB is more efficient I can easily learn.

I have a query (that gets it's data from several other queries) with a column called "max." The data in the column is correct, but when I call on the query in VBA, it shows me incorrect data.Here is where I call the query:
Code:
Dim db As DAO.Database, qdf As DAO.QueryDef, rs As DAO.Recordset
Dim strReport As String
Set db = CurrentDb()
Set qdf = db.QueryDefs("7-ErrorsReport")
qdf.Parameters(0) = Forms!frmmain!dt1.Value
qdf.Parameters(1) = Forms!frmmain!dt2.Value
qdf.Parameters(2) = Forms!frmmain!d2.Value
[code]....
The query looks at a table of employees and finds out if they have been issues a warning letter before, then prints out a corresponding report based on the "max" warning level they are at.The problem arises when an employee graduates from a 6 month probation period - all letters in that period should be ignored. As i said, they are ignored correctly when i run and view my query ("7-ErrorsReport") because they are filtered out at that point, but for some reason when this code runs, it somehow sees the previously issued letters which are stored in a table and likely in some of the other queries.
I am not sure if there is some issue with the query tree I have set up which is necessary to get the results I need, or if something is wacked with the was I am using it as a recordsource.

I have a query (MonthlyInputQry) which calculates the total input into a production process by month (where month is a number 1-12) and there is a year (2013, 2014, etc). This query is based off a table (InputTbl) which records each individual order which goes through the process and then adds up the combined weight for all orders in the month.I also have a table (MonthlyCostsTbl) where the costs per month of the process are displayed, and on this table there is a space for to input the monthly input as calcuated by the previous query (with the aim to find the cost p/kg each month)
At the moment, at the end of each month I have been looking at the value contained within the query for the applicable month (so March 2014 would be Month = 3; Year = 2014) and copying and pasting this value into the table.
Is there a way in which I could get this value in the table to automatically update, either in the form of a running total or at the end of the month? Either from the query itself or from the original table of inputs.

Access 2010. This has worked before but I don't understand why this is not working for me now. When i select an item in a combo box in a form and click on a button to run a query with the results, the query is blank. If I run the query alone, it prompts for an item, I can type it in and it works. I have even tried the DoCmd on the combo box but still same results. Attached is a dummy down DB. If you run the query, it will prompt, select Paper or Rock, see results. But run the form, the drop down will not show the results. What am I missing?

I currently have tables that are in the database but they require the user to import the data from an excel file. This works fine however due to the data being imported I only require certain columns from the import, this is where I would use a query.
The data of the import will always have the same column headings. Firstname, lastname, usernumber etc..Unfortunately i'm not quite sure how I could get a script to generate a query of the selected columns after an import is completed.

How to retrieve data from a table (via query) ? I created the below query, but I'm not sure what else is needed to retrieve the value from my SQL query. My query code is below. I'm not getting any errors.

strClient = "Jerry Davis"
strSQL = " SELECT [Progress Tracking].[Client Name], [Progress Tracking].[Client Start Date],
[Progress Tracking].[Start Body Weight], [Progress Tracking].[Tracking Date]
FROM [Progress Tracking]
WHERE [Progress Tracking].[Client Name])= ' " & strClient & " ' "
MsgBox "Weight Box " & " " & strSQL

I have a split database, a front for data entry and of course the back end with all the tables. I have created several Append queries to move records from one table to another (from Applicants to Students, once they are Accepted). The queries work - when I go into the tables and look, there's the data right where I told it to go. But when I open the Students input form (which draws from the destination table), the new data doesn't show up. I double-checked the destination table, and yes, the appended data is all there.
I tried running the simply query that populates the input form, and it doesn't show up in the simple query, either. I've tried Refreshing everything numerous times, tried updating the Linked Table Manager numerous times, opened and closed the program, and no dice - the data is in the table but never shows up in the simple query that populates the data input form. There's no filters on the simple query, so everything in the table should show up - but doesn't.

I want to set a table field's default value to whatever is displayed in a certain field on a certain form at the time.In other words, say I have a database with a table called TABLE1, and two fields called NAME and SCHEDULENUMBER. I have a form called CreateSchedule with a SCHEDULE NUMBERCONTROL form and a NAME form, and I can enter names onto it, and it records to the proper SCHEDULENUMBER. So if I pull up SCHEDULENUMBER 4, and add three names, when I go back into TABLE1, I can see those three new names, and each one has the SCHEDULENUMBER set to 4.
What I'm trying to do is write an APPEND QUERY to copy a list of names from a different table, and paste them into TABLE1. The problem is that the other table doesn't have a SCHEDULENUMBER field. What I want to do is put a button on the CreateSchedule form that runs an APPEND QUERY, and sets the SCHEDULENUMBER to whatever value is displayed on CreateSchedule's SCHEDULENUMBERCONTROL field.
I tried setting a default value in TABLE1's field properties for that SCHEDULENUMBERCONTROL field, but I keep getting error messages. I just want TABLE1, whenever I add a new record (regardless of how I add the record: manually typing it or clicking the append query button) to look at the form CreateSchedule, and set it's own SCHEDULENUMBER field to whatever is displayed in CreateSchedule's SCHEDULENUMBERCONTROL form.

I have a table that is updated from an update query which gets its data from a table, which gets its data from a form. I have set the query to only update the current record, this is done by a macro when the user exits the input box. The problem arises when a user goes to visit past record, I would like it to not overwrite the old data with the new data. If the query was only allowed to ADD data and not overwrite then this would fix the problem!
My SQL code is as follows:
UPDATE [Run Info], [Sieve Weights] SET [Run Info].[315 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![315 Tare], [Run Info].[250 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![250 Tare], [Run Info].[200 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![200 Tare], [Run Info].[160 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![160 Tare], [Run Info].[100 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![100 Tare], [Run Info].[75 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![75 Tare], [Run Info].[50 Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![50 Tare], [Run Info].[BD Tube Tare] = [Sieve Weights]![BD Tube]
WHERE ((([Forms]![1L Input form]![ID No])=[Run Info]![ID No]));
