I have 3 tables: Company, Client and Status. The Company/Client combinations can have various statuses over time (I use the field Rstatus in the Status table), including the values pass and fail.
Companies are assigned statuses for Clients periodically. Statuses could be eg:
Company A, Client 1, 01-01-2001, pass
Company A, Client 1, 02-01-2001, pass
Company A, Client 1, 01-09-2001, fail
Company B, Client 1, 01-02-2001, fail
Company B, Client 1, 01-03-2001, pass
Company C, Client 1, 01-03-2001, pass
I would like to make reports that will tell me:
1. All historical records for a given company/client combination at a given date (in history). Which statuses did we have at date xyz?
2. Of which company/client combinations the latest status was pass at a given date. For Client 1, which companies had Rstatus pass at date xyz?
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to input just one date range into a report that is accessing data from multiple table and multiple queries. I can create the report which gives me the info needed but I have to put the same date range in 3 or 4 time before the report is generated.
I have operators that enter equipment downtime information into the database. I need to create a report that pulls all records that have a start date and time based on a start date (field name FromDate on form) at 7:00 AM to an end date (field name ToDate on form) at 6:59 AM and shows the total duration in hours for each record.I'm having difficulty getting my query to display the correct results for the date and time range. Duration calculations work perfectly.Here is my main table only using fields pertinent to this post:

Access version: 2013 / The user can click a button on the report that opens a form where they can select various filters. Once the user has selected the filters and clicks done, I have some VB code that fires which builds an SQL string with all of the filters selected. It then reopens the report with the new filter.
What I am running into issues with is one specific filter that the user can select. They can select a "from date" and "to date". Sometimes this filter returns what I want and sometimes it doesn't.
For example. I set 01/01/14 as the start date and end date as 15/01/14. <-- this works as desired.But if I put start date as 10/12/13 and end date 15/01/14 for example then it returns all previous records up to the specified end date. I.E dates such as 10/10/13 will show.

I am looking to call two different queries from report wizard to produce report. Getting error message what to do in this situation as both queries are important as i have to pick all records from query A and just one record from query B any other option to get this in report.

Is there a way to show the earliest and latest dates of a report generated by a non-date field?
E.g. I generate a report based on Food, and it'll list the days that this food is associated with. Is there a way to show the first and last day that appears in this report (i.e. the range of dates that the report shows based on the food selected)
A few months ago I created a report that displays the results of a long union query comprising a dozen or so individual queries, each containing an expression that yields a date (or sometimes date and time). I set the report to group by query and then sort by the date expression. Now for some reason that I can't fathom the report has always only ever offered me the option to sort the date "A to Z", I infer it thinks the date is text, but this misunderstanding has never actually stopped it sorting by date perfectly well. It worked. No problems.
However I have recently added formatting to some of the queries so that they just display date, not date and time e.g. Format([dateandtime],"dd/mm/yyyy"), and now the sort by date in the report no longer works. None of the sorting or grouping options have changed, but it now sorts just by the "dd" component of the date - so it thinks 21st June is later than 20th July. why?
I have a three-column query that tells me how many hours I have available per week for a given resource type (e.g. welders). I have a second three-column query that tells me how many hours of work I have planned per week for a given resource type.I'm hoping to produce a query (the source for a report) that will show resource types in rows and twelve months in 24 columns. the first column for each month will show how many hours I have available for all my resources, the second column for each month will show how many hours I have allocated.
How do I produce a query that will combine the other two queries, inserting zeroes where necessary considering that for any given week I might have allocated work to a resource that isn't available (because the inconsiderate buggers think they are entitled to holiday) or I might have a resource that has no work allocated (because I'm incompetent)?
I am using the following expression to calculate a completion date for a project which is based on the due date. My problem that I am running into is when I get to a project that is due on a Tuesday, it returns a date for Sunday when it should be Friday.
I have a query based on a table which has a date field. the field both in the table and the query have the time also in the date value so when I try to query on a date I get nothing if I copy the date and time from the field I will get the result for that record if I just use the date I get nothing. I have tried the format which does display just date but if you click on the field the time is also there You must be able to query for a date only and get all the records.
I have a query where I display the [OPEN DATE] and [CLOSE DATE] of my cases. However, when I run this query sometimes the cases are not closed yet, therefore there are null values. However, I also have a field to calculate the datediff between these two dates. I need the [CLOSE DATE] field to display today's date when it is a null value so that I can still get a count of the days using datediff when I run the query.
The query is there to query data, not to edit data or manipulate data in anyway. However, I am disgusted by the appearance of the date picker when I pick a field that is a date field.
Is there a way to hide/remove these date pickers from the query sheet?
Within the table itself I turned the "Show date picker" property to "Never" but that didn't make a difference.
So I run cash flow for a business, and we export data from Oracle and insert it into an access database. I have to run about 25 queries, entering in the same parameters for each. We number each week of the year. So for say the first week in January, I would run the first query and it asks: Beginning Week, I enter in 1, then another paramter value asks me the ending week. I have to enter in these parameters for each of the 25 or so queries, and it becomes quite irritating. Each query has a number of columns, but I am only interested in obtaining the sum of one of the columns, titled Distribution amount. So I am looking for something that will run each of my specified queries, then spit out the total of the distribution column for each in a table like.
Query 1: Total Distribution Query 2: Total Distribution etc....
Is there anything that would allow me to do this, with entering in the week parameter once, say week 1 start, week 1 end. and it use those same parameters for each query?
I've attached a stripped down version of a small order database I'm working on.
A user would enter an order, the amount and the date the order is required by.
As you can see from tbl_seasons, the business has financial periods that match the first and last 6 months of each year. Each season has a start date and end date.
What I'm trying to build are two queries:
1. A query which lists all orders and has an extra field which shows the "season_id" that the order (date) relates to (based one the start date and end date in tbl_seasons)
2. A totals query which shows the total order amounts by season
I have a crosstab queries which uses the date query parameters. However, when I go to my Export command (code is below), it ask me to enter the date parameters (start date and end date) twice. What do I have to do so that the system will ask me to enter once only?

I have 5 queries that I am running. The first query has the date range parameters set in the field area that I need to run and each additional create table query is based off the results of the previous query.
1. Which is better to use to run all of the queries in one simple step? A macro or a form? I am exporting the final table to excel so that I can make some additional adjustments off of it.
2. How would I setup the date range parameters for the first query if I were to use a macro without going into the query itself and updating the date field? I tried setting up a macro to run the queries by using the OpenQuery action for each of the 5 queries, but I cannot figure out how to do the date range.
I am new and this is my first posting. I have a simple database that tells me what jobs are waiting on material, and what/ how much that material is. I would like to add a field to a report that shows how many days late by calculating NOW - due date. I would also like to show in the same report total quantities required of each material type for all jobs requiring a specific material (grouped by material type). I am new to access and am a far cry from a programmer by see lots of uses that could make my job easier and would like to learn more. If anyone out there could help me with these two issues I would really appreciate it.
Is there any way to avoid the error code when using the date parameters in Report header when there is no data for the specified range. The following are the parameters being used to get the date range. They work fine as long as there are records in the date range entered.

I've created a Form where I enter all my data - then I created a Report to output this data, it includes two buttons to filter based on one category. That's working fantastically well for me.
But now I would like to filter on dates. For example, last 7 days, last 14 days etc - and also give the user the option of filtering between x and y dates. I've discovered this is easily done by right-clicking the date field in the report, but I'd prefer to embed these commands into buttons etc so it's easier to navigate.
