I'm trying to return a list of students in a particular team who have not attended a certain number of sessions at a gym, between two dates. For some reason i get the error. At most one record can be returned by this subquery. (Error 3354).
SELECT [Student ID], Count(*) AS ["Number of Times Attended"] FROM Gym_Attendance WHERE [Gym Date] BETWEEN [Forms]![SV_Attendance]![txtStart].Value AND [Forms]![SV_Attendance]![txtEnd].Value AND [Student ID] Like (SELECT [Student ID] FROM Student_Sports WHERE [Sporting Team] = [Forms]![SV_Attendance]![lstTeam].Value) GROUP BY [Student ID] HAVING Count(*) < [Forms]![SV_Attendance]![txtNo].Value;
If I filter the date, e.g., from April 1st to 30th, I want to get as a result 4 records, one of each client and only the latest record from CLIENT 3 (04/22).
If I filter the date, e.g., from April 1st to 20th, I want to get as a result only the records of clients 4 and 3 from 04/16 (as every other contact is from beyond 04/20).
If I filter the date, e.g., from April 25th to 30th, the return must be only the top 2 records (the only ones after April 25th).
I tried using a query grouping the totals on "process key" and the other cells set as "first", but if I filter from April 1st to 20th, for example, no records from CLIENT 3 gets shown, since Access processed the "first" record request before the date filter, and therefore only considered the contact from 04/22, and as it is later than 04/20, wasn't shown on the query.
I have a table with duplicate records (which is ok) and I want to return distinct data for each client.
It works fine when there is only two fields returned however, when I add a third field to the query it no longer returns only the Distinct records - I am getting Duplicates returned.
I.E
SELECT DISTINCT tblClient.ClientNo, tblClient.Name FROM tblClient
Works fine with only the Distinct records for each client returned
However
SELECT DISTINCT tblClient.ClientNo, tblClient.Name, tblClient.Address, tblClient.OrderValue FROM tblClient
Now returns Duplicates!
Is there a limit to the number of fields to be returned using DISTINCT or what else could be the problem? Should I be doing this some other way?
assignment_num field: 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005 project_num field: 20,20,15,16,15 employee_name field: tom peter, tom peter, tom peter, julie, sally
What I want is to display the employee name with 2 projects or more...
What i have done? I've done a group by and then count project_num field.. I also added a condition whereby the countofproject_num > 1.. everything went well except that the countofproject_num display 3 instead 2..
I've been given a flat-file database to 'improve'. One field is simply titled 'Room' and refers to a room number in a school. I want to create a MakeTable query that will run through all the records and make a table containing one instance of each room number (for normalizing). Hope that makes sense!
I have a set of devices that are assigned to a truck, on occastion they are moved from truck to truck, I need to be able to track where they are AND where they have been. Here is what I have:
ID (autonumber) GPS ID (number, this is the specific ID to each device) Truck Number (this is the specific ID for each truck Installation Date (Date installed / moved)
I have created a query to show the data I need, I have put them in order based on date.
- I must keep each event stored on the table
Goal:
To show a list of the current location of each device, nothing more.
when pressing the return key (in a textbox field within a form) an action should be fired, but it does not.
here is my code: ************************ Private Sub txmyTextbox_KeyPress(KeyAscii As Integer) If KeyAscii = 13 Then MsgBox "Return key pressed" End If End Sub *****************
I'm trying to create a security measure that would prevent a user from accidentally paging down in a form and moving to the next record. I want to create an event macro that would fire if the user accidentally paged down into the next record. The macro would simply move back to the previous record.
What event would I use to build the macro ? What action would return to previous record ?
Brand new on here and desparate for some help and guidence.
So far with Access I have just used it as a store of addresses to mailshot prospective clients.
However, I now need a more complex database and this is where you might be able to help.
First things first, most of my clients are in universities. This means that I can be used by more than one person in more than one department at a university.
Does this mean I need to do three tables:
1/ "University Details" which gives the address details 2/ "Department" storing the departments of the unis we work for 3/ "Client" Name of the client(s) in that department.
I have a database of staff members. There is a table with the details of staff; name, dob, address etc.
I need to set something up that will record the training that staff attend and then be able to print a report of who attended the training session and also a report of training sessions individual staff members attended.
I need to set up fields in a table for date, topic and presenter and then I need to somehow mark off staff members who attended.
1. Client Info table which contains the following fields: Clientid LastName FirstName
2.DatesDistribution table Clientid DateAttended
The relationship is one to many for these tables.I have been trying to create a query that will show the following:
Clientid LastName FirstName DateAttended (where this field only shows the most current date that the client visited)
Example: ClientInfo has 2 records:
Clientid=jsmith LastName=Smith FirstName=Jim
Clientid=tjones LastName=Jones FirstName=Tom
[code]...
I have tried grouping the records in Client Info table to get distinct names and using a Last function to get the most current date with little success.
I have been working on a simple data base for some time now (beginner level) and am still trying to improve it. I would like to do something but before that I would like to have your opinion to know if it is even possible?I have a query QryMainReport:
Start Date/Time End Date/Time Employee
At the moment this is what the format of my report looks like (I removed other unnecessary fields):
StartTime----------EndTime---------------Employee 12/06/2014 01:00--12/06/2014 03:00------John Smith 12/06/2014 04:00--12/06/2014 06:00------Jane Doe 13/06/2014 02:00--13/06/2014 05:00------John Smith 13/06/2014 08:00--13/06/2014 08:00------Jane Doe
I would like to do as a report. (Dates would always be from Sunday to Saturday). I am not sure it is possible to do that. I suppose first it would mean:I would have to do a query to separate the times from the dates?I would have to find a way for Access to find the unique dates and unique names?Does it mean I have to use cross tab queries?
I am working on an Insurance DB.. I have two tables tbl_Clients and tbl_PolicyDetails with a One-Many relationship.. tbl_Clients have the Clients basic info, Name, Tel, Address etc. The tbl_PolicyDetails have the details of the policy for the customer like Start date, policy term, amount they pay, policy status etc. Policy Status can be any of the following Quote, Active, Suspended, Lapsed, Cancelled, Terminated..
One client can have many Policies.. When one policy finishes (like when cover upgraded/downgraded/any changed their insured property address etc.) we categorise them as Termination of old policy thus the client will have a New policy.. At any stage we only need the newest policy per client. My problem now is I need to list all Clients with policy status Active, Suspended, Lapsed, Cancelled..
Code: SELECT tbl_Clients.cli_ID, tbl_Clients.firstName, tbl_Clients.address, tbl_PolicyDetails.policyCover FROM tbl_Clients INNER JOIN tbl_PolicyDetails ON tbl_Clients.cli_ID = tbl_PolicyDetails.cliID_FK WHERE tbl_PolicyDetails.policyStatus = "Active" Or tbl_PolicyDetails.policyStatus = "Suspended" Or tbl_PolicyDetails.policyStatus = "Lapsed" Or tbl_PolicyDetails.policyStatus = "Cancelled";
Code: cli_ID firstName address 1 Paul Bournemouth 2 Mark Bristol 3 Lauren London 4 Caryn Devon
[code]...
When a Client wishes to Cancel a policy it is not Terminated, the policy status is just Cancelled.. Similar to Lapsed policy, if the policy hits 30 days of no pay then it is passed on to a Debt collection agency.. If in future the Client comes back a new policy is generated for both cases.. So in this case Client Lauren and Caryn will have been repeated twice, in the report I am trying to generate (based on the above query).. I do not wish to display the Cancelled policy if the customer has another policy which again can be Active, Suspended, Lapsed, Cancelled..
Code: cli_ID firstName address policyCover policyStatus 1 Paul Bournemouth PDB Active 2 Mark Bristol PDB Active 3 Lauren London PDBCH Suspended 4 Caryn Devon PDE Active
I am trying to delete a record in tblinclude where record from tblexclude are equal to clientid and codeid
Here is the sql DELETE tblinclude.ClientID FROM tblexclude INNER JOIN tblinclude ON (tblexclude.ClientID = tblinclude.ClientID) AND (tblexclude.CodeID = tblinclude.CodeID) WHERE (((tblinclude.ClientID)=1));
I get the error Specify the table containing the records you want to delete. I've searched for this but I am just not getting it today.
I have a material usage table that tracks material going into products...Oftentimes the same material will be used and multiple records will contain that material.
I want my query to return only records with unique material used. I'm clicking the "Unique Values" and "Unique Records" property setting but its not working.
I want to do a unique count of dates when an activity was done in my table. The table may have multiple entries of the activity performed possibly on the same date by an individual
totV = ECount("[dateAssessed]", "R_P_Data_P", "[approvalNoSys] = '" & [Forms]![cmrOverview]![txtappNoSys] & "' AND [Activity] Like '*audit*'") totV = Unique count dateAssessed = date field in R_P_Data_P table R_P_Data_P = table "[approvalNoSys] = '" & [Forms]![cmrOverview]![txtappNoSys] & "' = criteria for the customer in question to separate them from many other customers in the table. Activity = text field in R_P_Data_P table audit = the activity
I'm also trying to avoid having to build total queries etc to them reference them, I'd like getting the desired outcome in an expression or small code.
I read about Ecount but my complier doesn't recognise the function
I'd like to extract just one TestPos record (TestPos = 1) per Patient ID. And I always want to select the record with the earliest date. So the result would be:
I can do this but it requires 3 queries: a SELECT query where TestPos = 1, a GROUP BY PatientID query and MIN(VisitDate) to get the desired record per patient, and then another query that links the two so I can get the additional variables (e.g., Complaint).
Is there a way to do this without using 3 queries? Seems inefficient.
I have 2 linked tables, tblPN & tblReceivedDate. tblPN has field PN and tblReceivedDate has field [Received Date]. The tables are used to record the receipt of different part numbers and the date they received. I want to use a query to count how many times a part number is received. The catch is that I only want to count a part once even if it is received more than once on the same date. With the data in the attached DB the count for PN 123 would be 5.how to configure the query to do what I need to do?
I have split my database, the data is in a DB on the server and the forms, reports, etc is on the client desktop. My question is "Is there an advantage to having all of my combo box queries (Lookups) on the server side (defined in the table as a combo lookup) or should I put the all on the form so that they reside in client side DB.
I Have one table which have 4 column ,i.eID , NAME, PAN, DOB..in this table same id having diffrent data of Name or PAN or DOB except DOB all are text format when i m trying to select unique id which having more than 1 name it shows 0 data, but table having these,,
The main table for the database I am working on contains the following fields:
ID Mfr Control Number Initial or Follow-Up Follow-up Number Suspect Date of Initial Email Date Received Date Submitted Date of Report Serious Brief Description Causality Notes
With some additional qualifications I wanted to find records that had an intial report but no follow-up. Which translates too I want records that are unique in the Mfr Control Number field (no duplicates).
I am trying to build a query and keep getting hung up on the unique aspect of fields. I started by trying to query only "Mfr Control Number" fields that are unique (no duplicates). As best I can figure for some reason I can not add any additional fields to that query. My current query is set up in the query build table such that I have added "Mfr Control Number" in two columns. The first column in Total I have "Group By". In the next column I have set Total to "count" with a criteria of 1. If I try to add any other fields from my table than I seem to lose those unique results. But I need to further filter to get the exact information I need.
I want criteria on the "Initial or Follow-up" field to only bring "initial" I want criteria on the "Serious" field to only bring "serious" I want criteria on the "Date of This Report" field of "<Date()-"15""
Is there some way to take the results of that initial query to then build a another query based just on those records? I could then apply the further criteria and run my report. Or is there a way to do this in one step?
I've tried to make clear my intention but know it can be difficult to get this kind of stuff down in writing in a clear fashion. I have to be careful to keep information confidential also so some of the details are vague.
I have imported a large number of emails into a table tbl_requests.
I had intended to have unique file tbl_requests.date_opened unique, but have ended up with a lot of duplicate records (i.e. tbl_requests.date_opened is not unique !). How to delete any duplicates? I have 15,000 records...
I have a query with over 85,000 lines of data where each row has a unique id but the unique id appears multiple times within the table. For example, there is a unique numeric id tide to various types of pets across four columns. So the id number 1 could appear in four different rows each with different pets. See the first attachment "Original Table"
I want to be able to create a table that has one for for each unique id with all of the corresponding pet data. See the attached "Desired Table".
I am using a software drawing program that intelligently link information from a drawing to a database and vice versa. I have many tables and queries that I have created over time that enable auto populating of tables, creation of tables and so on. All of which enable me with tabular documents for ordering purposes.
The problem I currently have is: - I want to create a table that looks at an existing table, analysis various fields for duplicate information and then adds one record to a new table. This is to enable me to create a spares list based on the entire list.
I have a full valve list with various items, some duplicates some not. I am required to produce a spares list that considers only one of each type.
I have a unique query which lists all the films that we are screening over the next 3 months. I have added a COUNT field so that I can see how many of each films we are screening.
The problem is that i get duplicates of some films - and this may be because we may hold several copies of some films. I have attached two images which might explain this better!
What I could do with is knowing how to make it so that i get a list of films booked and how many of each, regardless of which copy of the film is used.
The SQL is:
Code: SELECT DISTINCTROW dbo_Films.[film name], Count(dbo_Films.[film name]) AS [CountOffilm name] FROM ((dbo_Films INNER JOIN dbo_filmCopies ON dbo_Films.ID = dbo_filmCopies.tblFilms_ID) INNER JOIN dbo_EventsFlicks ON dbo_filmCopies.ID = dbo_EventsFlicks.filmCopyID) INNER JOIN dbo_Venues ON dbo_EventsFlicks.venueID = dbo_Venues.ID WHERE (((dbo_EventsFlicks.datefield)>=#8/1/2015# And (dbo_EventsFlicks.datefield)<#1/1/2016#)) GROUP BY dbo_Films.[film name], dbo_Venues.southhub, dbo_Venues.northhub, dbo_Films.Specilaised ORDER BY dbo_Films.[film name];
