I have a table containing a list of dates in "MMM YYYY" text format from "Jan 2010" to "Dec 2020".
I would like to restrict the list from the first record (Jan 2010) to the current month using today's date (eg in this case Dec 2013).
I know about

And have tried the criteria

I'm trying to select a range of relevant dates for an amortization calculation (see my earlier thread on this subject here), but I'm having a bit of trouble making the SQL work.
I have a table called "t_AllMonths" that has only one field: MonthStartDate which contains the first day of the month for a very wide range of months over something like a ten-year period. I'm calculating amort for assets which will be amortized for some subset of those months (defined by the asset's Amort Start Date and Amort End Date). Further complicating matters, the amortization may be suspended during certain "hiatus" periods when the asset it not planned to be in use, and may differ by which business units make use of the asset.
So, I have three tables.
Table: t_Assets
Fields: AssetID (autonumber; primary key), Asset_Name, Asset_Cost
Table: t_AllMonths
Fields: MonthStartDate
Table: t_AmortPeriods
Fields: AmortPeriodID, AssetID, Amt_Period_Num (which I don't expect to use in this), StartDate and EndDate
Right now, I'm just trying to pull the range of dates between the earliest amort start date and the latest amort end date. (Min of StartDate and Max of EndDate, respectively) for a given AssetID.
My sql looks like this:

I keep getting an error message that reads "Run-Time Error 3122: You tried to execute a query that does not include the specified expression MonthStartDate as part of an aggregate function."
I want to make a query in my system which finds out if a room is available for a person to stay in. I want the query to show me a list of rooms that are available between a period of two dates. So if I enter a arrival Date (12/12/12) and then a checkout date (13/12/12) the query then shows me a list of rooms that are free for those dates. How would I go around doing this?

I have tried DCount, and now I'm doing it through SQL, and no matter what combinations I try I still get an error - usually 3075 - Syntax error (missing operator)
But I can't find anything missing - I copy the SQL into a query view and it works perfectly... but it won't work on its own. And I've tried using DCount with the query as a query object, and I get the same error.

I would like a command button to print records from a select query displaying dates for the past 2 days but not for todays date.
e.g. today is the 29th, I want to print records for the 27th & 28th.
Data is being recorded hourly and kept for 2 months so there will be new and old data that I don't want printed.

I am totally new to Access and this is my first database.
I have a database for volunteers in which one table is basically a calendar. In this table I have fields for the month, day of the week (i.e Monday) and day of the month (i.e 21st). There is also a filed called "Special days"
Sometimes I may want to produce a report that selects only certain days such as Saturday, Sunday and other days marked as "special days". Another time I may also want to produce a report that selects other days.
At the moment I have a "test filed" in which I place a 1 for those days i want to select then I choose all those with a 1. This is obviously a very poor construction.
Can anyone offer me a more advanced method?
I have a database which records time spent on various projects and I would like to be able to calculate the time spent on any particular project between two selected dates. The report and the query behind it already works to display the time accrued on all the dates of a project, but I want to be able to break it down to small ranges of dates
I have a form on which the user selects the start date and the end date. How can I apply this calculated information as a criteria in a query so that I can produce a report with the relevant information on it.
I already have the report and the date selection form designed. The dates selected go into two unbound fields which have a date format.

I have created a database to keep track of transcripts that are requested. This database has their names, ID number, date requested(With a pop-up calender), transcript type requested(This is a combobox where the choices are "Official Copy" and "Student Copy") and address.
So far, it works great. What I wish to do is run a report that I can choose the begining date and ending date for a specified month to see the total "Official Copies" and "Student Copies" for a given month.
Any ideas out there?

The input form of the database have one common table containing data for all parameters for row source. As all data was in one table had one ID. My problem is I am trying to run reports from a form after selecting dates and parameters.
For selecting parameters I created dynamic combo box. For dynamic combo box I needed ID and description of the parameters. So I created separate tables for each parameter with ID and Description column. Which ran me into the problem that when I run report based on main input form which has different row source table and my report form has different row source tables and reports doesn't run when I base my queries on the report form.
I've been asked to get some information from my database and I'm a bit stuck.
I have a list of refunds in tbl_main and each one includes a dateReceived. I make a record in either tlk_located, tlk_unableToLocate or tlk_bulk depending on the outcome when we're trying to send the money back to whoever it belongs to. Each table has a time stamp (named locatedTime, unableTime and timestamp respectively) field
My manager wants me to report how many entries were unworked on each day in the year, and what the value of them was. An entry is unworked if there is no entry in either of the 3 tables.
So I need a query that lists a range of dates, and for each date counts the number of entries where tbl_main.dateReceived is <= to that date and either has no record in located,unable or bulk or has a record with a timestamp > than the date. (It has been processed now, but hadn't been on the date we are looking at)
I can manage a query that looks at a certain date that it prompts for on each run:

I want that when the form loads, the first record is automatically selected in the list box.

I do not know/remember how to link these so that the list may be used to to display the select record in the tabbed control

I have a form where I have two drop down list box.The first list box is called Transaction_Type. It contains three values: Created, Allocated and Sold
The second list box is called Product_Status. It contains 6 items: Allocated, Produced, Reworked, Shipped, To Be Produced, Unallocated.
I have a products form. When a user created more inventory they will selected in the drop down list create, then a quantity. Then I would like the status of the product to update to "Unallocated".
When the user placed an order but doesn't finish it they will choose the status of the inventory to be allocated so I would like the product status to be updated to allocated automatically.
They other status the user will choose them self and do not need to be linked to each other.
In my vba code I have tried with the OnClick and AfterUpdate sub procedures with the following code.

I am currently designing an employee personal development and training database.I have 100 employees and the number that would go on a training course might be a handful so selecting four or five names in a subform list from a 100 seems a bit impractical.
I thought of selecting the course in a form from a combo box, selecting the employees using a tickbox in a subform and then running an append query.
I have a working combo box on a form that displays issue numbers for part number typed into a text box.This all works fine when the list of issue numbers is below the displayed list (16), but when the list is longer than 16 you cannot seem to select anything after item 16.
When the combo box has, say 25 items a scroll bar appears allowing the user to scroll down to item 25, but when you click the mouse the list just reverts back to the first 16 items? The only way to select an item after 16 is to select item 16 which then closes the combo box, then when you reopen it the list now shows items 17 to 25 which you can then select item 25.
This is the same in reverse, when you have item 25 selected, you cannot select item 1. When you click the mouse the list reverts back to items 17 - 25.The combo box is populated in code using the lost focus event on the text box for the part number.
I am trying to use a list-control on a form to let the user select multiple values. I have understood that this requires some VBA-code to step through the selections in the list, since the "multivalue-selection" is set to "Extended".

So I have a multiselect listbox. The list that it shows depends on what is selected in a separate combo box.I want to be able to select multiple items from the listbox, and then be able to leave the record, and when I come back to it, to still have those items highlighted. Right now in my form, as I go through records, if I highlighted items 1,2 and 3 on a record, those first three lines will stay highlighted as I move through different records, rather than changing to what had been selected for each record.
I've already stored the actual selected values in a subtable. I just want to have it highlighted again so that you can see what was previously selected.
I am relearning Access and having a little difficulty. I am creating a Access database that links tables from an I series system which I have done trouble free. In the database I have pulled up for example a patient demographic file (hospital). I have form frmSearch that prompts the user to enter the medical record number OR they can search by name. I have a query that takes that information then loads a 2nd form to display the query results in a list box. I would like to be able to click on one of the results from the 2nd form to then load another form that will display all of the patient information that was selected.How do you set this up so that with the results shown, I can click on one of them and it will load that patient into another form pulling the rest of his or her information from the table file?

I now need to create a query to perform a calculation for each date between the 'start' date and the 'end' date
So the first step (as I see it anyway) is to try to create a query which will give me each date between the two reference dates, in the hope that I can then JOIN that onto another query to perform the necessary calculation for each of the returned dates.
Is there a way to do this?
So basically, if for a particular record, the 'start' date is 01-Apr-2015 and the 'end' date is 09-Apr-2015, can I produce a dataset of 9 records as follows :01-Apr-2015

(The *obvious* solution would be to create a separate table of dates, from which I could just SELECT DISTINCT <Date> Between #04/01/2015# And #04/09/2015# - but that seems like a dreadful waste of space, if that table is only required to generate the above? And it would have to cover all possible options; so it would either have to be massive, and contain every possible date - ever! - or maintained, adding new dates as necessary when they are required. Seems horribly inefficient!)
Is it possible to just select each date between the two reference dates? Or can you only query something which exists somewhere in a table?
Is there a way in this program to create a list of dates between 2 dates?
