Queries :: Taking A Date From List Box And Entering It Into Query In VB

I have a process that lifts a highlighted date from a List Box and puts it in the Criteria of a query. The process manages to move the numbers from one place to another, but ends up giving me a data mismatch in the query. The process is as follows

The Immediate debug shows...

I'm pretty sure (althiough always stand to be corrected!) that I need it to come out as

In (#1/07/2013#)

How can this be achieved?

Queries :: Taking User Input In CrossTab Query

I have a cross tab query that takes input from the user. The code is as under:

PARAMETERS [START_MONTH] DateTime, [END_MONTH] DateTime;

I am facing 3 problems with the above code:

1. Access prompts to enter the start month and end month even when I click the save button.
2. When I run the query it prompts to enter the start month and end month twice.
3. I have generated a report based on the above query. When I run the report it keeps on prompting for start month and end month and does not give the final result.

Is it a common problem with cross tab queries?

Queries :: Mailing List For Specific Month - Date Criteria Query

I am trying to create a mailing list of patients. Let's say I am creating a mailing list for February. I need the mailing list to consist of people who have had surgery in February from the beginning of the database, and people who have had surgery three months ago, so anyone who had surgery in November. I have created a form that has a button which is connected to a query, the form has a unbound textbox where I can enter the month in (2 for February). Then the query uses the datepart function to search for this month in their date of surgery. But this only gives me people for surgeries with february, how would I get people who have had surgery three months ago in the same query.

Tables :: Change In Sharepoint List Not Taking Effect?

I am importing data from a sharepoint list on to Access 2007, as linked data where any changes I make on Access is made to the list and vice versa. However, I recently made a change to one of the column types and this change is not being made on Access. I have changed a column type from choice to single line of text but I still see the list of choices when I access the list on Access 2007.

I have refreshed the list by right clicking the linked list and pressing refresh list. The list is set to not cache the list and is not set to work offline so cannot see why the change is not being made. I don't want to mess with the list be removing it and re-adding it as I have multiple queries set up which are being fed in to an excel file I use to create reports from the data. I have no knowledge of VBA, so there is none of that being used on Access.

User Entering Date Range For A Query With Sum Function Present

Let's see if I can explain this situation effectively...

I've been handed a database that is set up to track tutoring sessions of students. The original creator designed the database for 1 semester. I am trying to make it functional for x number of semesters. So here's my dilemma: I have several reports that are based on queries. I would like for the user to be able to run the report and it prompt for them to enter a date range, which would then output desired results for that range (I thought this would be more efficient than setting up the db to run reports by semester, so that the user would be able to narrow their results).

So in corresponding queries, I am adding the following criteria to the "Date" field:
Between [Enter Beginning Date] And [Enter Ending Date]. The query produces the right results, just not exactly in the way I would like to see them. This is because the query tracks the number of hours per mentor (the person giving the tutoring) and does a sum.

So in my results, it is summing the hours for every change in date occurrence. For example, the results should look like this (on the report):

Student 1
Mentor A xtotal hours

Student 2
Mentor A xtotal hours
Mentor B xtotal hours


Instead what I'm getting is a sum of hours for every different date, as follows:

Student 1
Mentor A xtotal hours
Mentor A xtotal hours
Mentor A xtotal hours

Student 2
Mentor A xtotal hours
Mentor A xtotal hours
Mentor B xtotal hours
Mentor B xtotal hours
Mentor B xtotal hours
Mentor B xtotal hours

And so on...

Maybe I'm approaching this is the wrong fashion? I haven't had much luck searching google or access help... maybe I'm searching with the wrong strings. :)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Future Date - Taking W/e & Holidays Into Account

Hey all,

I'm designing a query that must calculate a future date based on a recorded date. Unfortunately it's not as simple as just using adddate (unless I was using Excel!). Here's my requirements:

Future Date = [StartDate] + 45 business days

I am able to take weekends into account, but haven't been able to figure out how to bring holidays into the equation. I have an existing holidays table that I am using for another query within the database (calculates # of business days between 2 existing dates).

Hope this makes sense... I've been staring at it all day so I may not be thinking clearly anymore.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Taking One Date From Another To Give Number Of Days Left

HI, this should be relatively simple, but for some reason I cannot figure it out.

I have a field titled "DEADLINE" - a user inputs a date in this field (the datatype for this filed id date/time)

What I want to do is, on the form create a text box which takes the deadline date - todays date to give me the number of days to the deadline date. Once the dealine date has passed I then want to turn the counter to Red to show it is overdue. If there is no dealine then I want the field to say something like "No Deadline Set"

I have been looking for quite some time for some vba code that would return a date based on values in 2 fields.

In other words, I already have a field that returns transit days based on the customer chosen. End users will then enter a DueDate for the order. I want a field that returns a "ScheduledShipDate" based on [DueDate]-[TransitDays]. The part that makes this more difficult, in my opinion, is the fact that I also need to take into account some specific holidays.

I have already constructed a table with a list of the 6 company holidays and their corresponding dates. [tblHolidays.HolidayDate]

Unfortunately, my vba knowhow might as well be limited to copy and pasting as I do not need to use it all that often.

Queries :: Using Variable In A List Field Query - Getting Complete List On Initial View

In my access form I provide the user a list of locations from various countries in a listbox . But the list is too long so I provide him a combobox for selecting a country. Selecting the country should update the listbox showing only the locations in that specific country.

So my SELECT from the listbox must cover the unselected state and show all entries and when a country is selected it must narrow the selection.

I tried to get this happen with the following SELECT statement containing a variable. Choosing a country in the Combobox results in a change of the variable and in a requery. This works after the first country is selected and for each country change, but the initial list is empty.

VBA in the loadform

SELECT in the listbox "lstlocationsperproject"

Any hints, how I have to use the * for getting the complete list on the initial view ?

I've got three tables:

fromparty (c for customer, e for employee, o for other)
frompartyid (foriegn key to either customer, employee or other)
toparty (same as from)
topartyid (same as from)

How can I get a list of ALL equipment showing the most recent date and time, also showing the respective toparty and topartyid? I can get it fairly easily, except for including toparty and topartyid.

Entering Date Of Birth

I have a "Client" table which has a "Date of Birth" field and the problem I am having is on in the data entry form the users type in "2/25" instead of "2/25/1965" on for the most part that's OK. But if the client DOB is 1930 or before then 2/25/2029 comes up.
I have found that the date format is tied to the Windows Regional settings and we are working on a network that doesn't allow me to adjust the settings.
I have tried to put a validation on the table for the field but then that makes it so you HAVE to enter something and can not leave that field blank if you want.

Any ideas?

Query Taking Too Much Time/resources

Auto Entering Date Into A Form

Hey,
basically, i have an invoice form, and on this I need to add InvoiceDate to it. Now, on the form, I have =Date(), but this changes every time i open the form, so it dosnt actually record the date. I have to manually type the date in to the form, which is not very good usibility practice. Can anyone help? Ive tried searchin, but I couldnt fin much relevent stuff. CHeers

Date Format When Entering From ASP Form

I am about to put my head through a wall. Perhaps you can help (not with the head through the wall - I can do that on my own). I have an ASP form that updates an Access database. Everything works except for one line of code. This one line is a concatenation statement that assembles month+day+year and updates a date field in the database. I know Access is particular about its date formatting, but I thought I had it right. Can someone help? This is the line of code:

rsUpdateEntry.Fields("Vacated") = "#" & Request.Form("VacMo"&rsUpdateEntry("Number")) & "/" & Request.Form("VacDay"&rsUpdateEntry("Number")) & "/" & Request.Form("VacYr"&rsUpdateEntry("Number")) & "#"

It should result in my date in #MM/DD/YYYY# format. I have tried all kinds of combinations of formatting and can't come up with the right one. I get the same "Type mismatch" error every time. I would love it if someone could shed some light on this one.

Entering Timestamp/Date Via Web Form

I'm very new to Access and this may be a REALLY simple question but ...

I have an Access 2000 db on a web-based server and a website form that inserts a record. Everything works properly but I now need to insert the date each time a record is entered. These records will not change or be updated once entered. I think there must be a way to have a hidden field in the web form which submits = Date() or whatever the right code would be.

The field I'm sending the date to is called "dateOfEntry" . Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I have a form in Access where a report date is to be entered. We only want to show a date format like Dec-13. Month-Year. I set a input mask to keep this consistent when others are entering.

Now it is January and people are trying to enter their reports for December, when they put in Dec-13. It automatically changes to Dec-14. WHY!I tried to go to the table and change the date to the year 13, but it just keeps changing back to 14.

Entering A Date From Access To Outlook Calendar

Entering Current Date In A Field Via Form Button?

I am trying to figure out to have the current date populate in table field by using a button on a form and not having much luck.

I have a table with 2 date fields, a 'created' field and a 'received' field. I already have the date set to auto populate for the 'created' field but I don't want the 'received' field to populate until the employee has gone into the database to receive the work.

I know I could have the employee just enter the date, but i want to avoid any typos or people simply forgetting to do it.

Ideally I would love the button to enter the current date into the 'received' field and save the entry, but I fine it needs to be 2 seperate buttons.

Access Query Will Not List Certain Date

I have a query that reports on records according to date. The criterea line of the date field has [Enter Date]. I have confirmed that there are dates from 8/1/06 through 8/10/06 in the table, but when I enter the date 8/10/06 the query returns no records. But it does return records for all other dates (8/1/06 through 8/9/06 inclusive).
So then I tried to make the date a range:

Between [Enter Start Date] And [Enter End Date].

I entered 8/9/06 and 8/11/06 in these fields and there in the report were the records for 8/10/06. Then I went back to [Enter Date] as criterea and entered 8/10/06 and no records are returned.

Seniority List Query With Two Date Fields

I made a basic Seniority List for my work place using a simple query that pulls info from a main Employee Table. Easy enough using just a simple query with a sort. Problem is, about a dozen or so of the Employee have left and since been rehired. Their Seniority is based on their Rehire Date and not their Original Hire Date. In the main Employee Table I am pulling this info from, there are two Date Fields...

[Hire Date]

[Rehire Date]

Is there a way to build a query where it can check both fields, use the more recent date, then copy the "winner" in a 3rd field?

Entering Info From Two Queries

Hello Everyone,

Ok, here's the scoop. I have a tournament / player score tracking database that we are developing.

1. I have a form that I would like to use to select a table number. I use a combo box to select this table number. This part is easy.

2. Once I have selected the table number, I would like to have two sets of fields automatically filled with information from two different queries (ie: player #1 and player #2). Each set of fields will include the player name and the appropriate score fields for the event. The majority of the time the data that will show up will only be the player name since we will be receiving scores and entering the information as it comes in. However, this same form could be used to edit player scores.

3. I would like to be able to tab from one field to the next when entering the information. After all of the information is entered, I would like to then hit a button that will write the information back to the two queries.

The problem that I seem to have is trying to enter information from two queries on the same form. Alas, I have been experimenting with unbound forms, subforms and unbound text fields, but have not been able to get anything to work. Would anyone have some suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Queries :: Entering Criteria In Dialog Box

I have two questions about entering Criteria in the query dialog box.

1. I know how to have the program ask the user what information they want to look at. For example if I am advertising coats and I have different colored coats like, red, blue., green. etc. I can enter [Enter the colored coat you want to view] How do I tell the user to hit Enter if they want to view all the coats.

2. Referring back to the coat example. If I used an ID to number each coat, I have a customer email me asking for information about five ID's that are not in consecutive order, how do I run a query in return a report with the information of just the ID's that I want to send to the customer.
