Queries :: Display 10 Queries In One Query Or In One Form?

Aug 15, 2013

I have a database from sharepoint which has 250 fields based on a survey. I imported the database into Access where I made 10 queries.

I want to know is there a way to display those 10 queries in one queries or in one form.

Given that some queries has result to display and others haven't yet.

How To Display Data From 3 Queries In A Form?

Aug 10, 2005

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help here? I am currently working on a form that needs to display data from 3 unique queries - a crosstab query and two standard queries (one has line by line data and another summary data) that do not have a common link.

What is the best way to do this? Would it be possible to display the results of each of these queries in a single form by creating 2 subforms from 2 of the queries and placing them in the form of the 3rd?

Any suggestions on how to combine the data from the 3 queries into the 1 form would be much appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance.

G.

Queries :: How To Get Query To Display 0 If There Is No Data

Jan 15, 2014

I have a table where I record attendance. In the table they select the type of training in via a check box "Training, Drill or Other". I created a query to show how many times someone has attended the Drills in each quarter (counts the check box). I am wanting to be able to specify which year is displayed as atm it is showing all te quarters for years. The SQL is below.

From this I have a report where it displays the data and have conditional formatted it so that if they have not attended more than 4 times in one quarter the "cell" turns red - the only problem is is that some of the cells have no data in it. How can I get the query to display 0 if there is no data?

QUERY SQL:
TRANSFORM Sum(Abs([ATTENDANCE 2011].DRILL)) AS SumOfDRILL
SELECT [MEMBERS LIST].[NUMBER/NAME], Sum(Abs(Nz([ATTENDANCE 2011].DRILL,0))) AS [Total Of DRILL]
FROM [MEMBERS LIST] INNER JOIN [ATTENDANCE 2011] ON [MEMBERS LIST].ID = [ATTENDANCE 2011].ATTENDED.Value
GROUP BY [MEMBERS LIST].[NUMBER/NAME]
PIVOT "Qtr " & Format([DATE],"yyyy/q");

Display Form As Datasheet With Many-record Queries?

Jan 2, 2007

I want to build a form for my users to allow them easy access to data shown in datasheet or continuous forms view. However, the problem is that they want to also see on the same form Contact details (Name & Tel.no). This is a one to many relationship with the underlying query so I cannot build this data into that query as it then makes it un-updateable.I had thought of putting the contact details into a subform and then putting that onto the continuous form but Access does not allow that.I am currently trying to get it work using an Unbound listbox and then using either a query or DLOOKUP but so far I cant get it to work.It seems to be something to do with it being on a continuous form.Any ideas please?

Queries :: Display Data From 2 Different Tables In One Form

Apr 21, 2013

I currently have two different excel spreadsheets linked to access 2003. The first few columns are very similar with similar headings. What i have now is a form displaying the data from one spread sheet (Engine Status), and another form displaying the data from the other (Engine Health).

As I am very new to access is there a way that i can link the two spreadsheets together and display all the data on one single form. I would like a combo box to find the required serial number (tail number) and once the serial number is selected the data from both spreadsheets will be displayed.

The spreadsheets i have to work with are of set standard for ease to input data from numerous other sources. I have attached examples of the two spreadsheets with the headings that are the same between the two although i have attached these to a single work book in reality they are seperate work books.

What i would like is for a combo box to display the Tail number then have single boxes to display core serial numbers across the form in order of position, then all the other data associated with that core serial number displayed in seperate boxes below the core serial number. I hope this is possible as it will prevent a lot of toggling between forms.

Queries :: Query Group By And Display Other Columns

Product1 5 240 A
Product1 7 19 B
Product1 6 12 C
Product2 96 0 A
Product2 98 23 B
Product2 99 44 C

There are 3 suppliers for the products (name of the suppliers are A, B and C).I want to make a query with the following result :

Product1 5 240 A
Product2 98 23 B

In other words :Showing a grouped list (grouped by products), with the lowest price of the supplier who has stock (quantity >0).I can make a list of grouped products with the lowest price, but it's not possible for me to show the stock and the supplier that's related with it.

Queries :: Query Records Match Less Than 20 Display

Oct 28, 2013

I have a db which has a query. This query is rather simple where it filters fields based on criteria. Here is the SQL VIEW:

SELECT DSResult.STATUS, DSResult.TESTCODE, DSResult.BATCHNO, DSResult.TESTNO, DSResult.TESTDATE, DSResult.CODE
FROM DSResult
WHERE (((DSResult.STATUS)="TESTED") AND ((DSResult.TESTCODE)="41015" Or (DSResult.TESTCODE)="41016") AND ((DSResult.BATCHNO)<>"1") AND ((DSResult.TESTDATE)>=#1/18/2010#))
ORDER BY DSResult.TESTCODE, DSResult.TESTDATE, DSResult.CODE;

I need to alter this query so that where records that have the same "DSResult.CODE" and counted are greater than 20 occurrences and then display only these records sorted in DSRESULT.Code order.

Queries :: Column Totals To Display On A Form - Auto Refresh After 2 Minutes

Mar 5, 2014

I have a database which has a table for the quotes prepared, each record has a quote amount. In a query linked to that table I have the ability to get just a specific month view which shows all totals in that month. I want to calculate a grand total for the amounts shown in quote amount:

Record 1 : 100.00
Record 2 : 100.00
Record 3 : 50.00

Grand total : 250.00

Then I want to display this grand total on a form which is visable on a screen based in the office that has an auto refresh on it so after 2 minutes any new records added to the table will increase the grand total on the form on the screen.

I have worked out how to do the totals bit, but now I need getting this figure (I.e. 250.00) on a form without having to run the query and have it looking in the background.

Access Projects - Query Designer - Update Queries With Joins Cannot Display In GUI

May 26, 2005

Hi, Big Jim here:

I am really not sure where to ask this one.....

My boss and I are in a jam. We have been using Access to run a reporting process, but one of our tables will exceed the maximum fields allotted this month. Our thought, dump the table into SQL Server and use the GUI interface provided in Access Projects.

Unfortunately, the query designer seems to have a few drawbacks. The one that effects us the most is in using UPDATE queries where more than one table is used to determine records to be updated. In attempting it, we get the message: "The designer does not graphically support the Optional FROM clause SQL construct".

Now I know we can manually create Update Queries, but we often need 1,000+ in a short period of time. Manually punching in all the fields involved and other code just isn't timely.

Question: Is there some alternative, service pack or anything else that would allow us to graphically create these Update Queries using Access Projects or even SQL Server 7.0? I would hate to have to scrap all the work we did over something that seems so minor.

Thanks in advance!

Big Jim

Queries :: Run Saved Query Object In Access Through VBA And Display Result In Subform

Jun 25, 2014

I have saved query object named qrySearchBill. I wan to call this query through vba and display the result in a subform named subQrySearchBills in datasheet view. Here's how I want it to work:

When the main form loads, I want all unfiltered records to be displayed in the subform initially. The user may then decide to filter based on date range, so he enters startdate and enddate parameter values in their respective textboxes in the main form. Then click search button to run the saved query based on the date range parameter taken from the textboxes.

I have this code so far:

SQL of the saved query object:

Code:
PARAMETERS [StartDate] DateTime, [EndDate] DateTime;
SELECT tblInvoice.BillNo, tblCrdCustomer.CstName, tblCrdCustomer.CstAddress, tblCrdCustomer.Island, tblInvoice.Date, Sum(tblInvoice.[TotalPrice]) AS Amount
FROM tblCrdCustomer INNER JOIN tblInvoice ON tblCrdCustomer.IDNo = tblInvoice.NameID
WHERE tblInvoice.Date Between [StartDate] And [EndDate]
GROUP BY tblInvoice.BillNo, tblCrdCustomer.CstName, tblCrdCustomer.CstAddress, tblCrdCustomer.Island, tblInvoice.Date;

vba code to call the query and its parameter:

Private Sub btnSearchBill_Click()
Dim qdf As DAO.QueryDef
Dim rst As DAO.Recordset

Set qdf = CurrentDb.QueryDefs("qrySearchBills")

[Code] ...

This code works fine except that when the main form loads, a prompt window appears to ask for the value of dateStart and dateEnd. I don't want it to prompt because it's suppose to get these values from the main form's textboxes (txtStartDate and txtEndDate respectively), plus it should initially display all the unfiltered records.

Queries :: How Can Query Display Info Based On Cascading Combo Boxes When Box (isnull)

Nov 27, 2013

I have a form with cascading combo boxes pulling from a table. They work perfectly, no worries. My problem now is if I do not enter information in every combo box (i.e. only two out of four combo boxes), how can I still run the query and get the appropriate information?

For example (these are my combo box titles in order):

Product
Type
Customer
Contract #

I don't want to necessarily look by Contract # all the time, but sometimes just by the general Product and Type to get a larger view. How do I set up expressions/criteria in my query to accurately produce that information? Right now it just produces a blank query table if I don't fill out all the boxes.

I've tried a couple of expressions with "isnull" criteria, but I must be doing it incorrectly.

Queries :: ONLY Display Max Value For Each ID

Jun 19, 2013

I did a search and I came up short on finding what I need here. I am looking for a solution to display THE max value of each well. For example. I have an ID number, a well, well_no, d_date, production, and the four_day_peak (which will be the max value)

I want to display ONLY the greatest 4_day_peak value for each well. So in this case I would only have two wells displayed. I will be applying this example solution to hundreds of results with hundreds of different [ID]s if that makes a difference (which I assume it won't). I attached a quick example of the data I am dealing with.

Queries :: Running Multiple Queries To 1 Excel File With Different Tabs For Each Query

Jul 18, 2013

I'm using Access 2003 and excel 2003.

We currently manually run 5 different queries then copy and paste this data into 5 separate tabs on 1 workbook, I'm trying to automate some of this process if possible.

I am trying to use the 'transferspreadsheet' action within a macro to run a query and post it into a template excel file, using this code:

Trasfer Type Export
Spreadsheet Type Excel 8-10
Table Name (query Name)
FIle Name (FIle location)
Has field names No
Range Blank
----
This does seem to work and puts the data on a new tab on the specified workbook.

However I have a few questions:

1. Can you specify which query gets put onto which tab in excel? The tabs have different fixed names.

2. Can you specify which Cell the data gets pasted into to? As each tab has a set of headers and titles which need to remain.i.e would need to get query 1 to start in cell A4.

3. How would you expand the above out so that it runs all 5 queries, would you just add in multiple transfer spreadsheet actions in the same macro?

Queries :: Adding Calculations To Queries Based On Columns In Query

Feb 18, 2014

I am trying to add calculations to queries based on columns in the query... it seems to randomly expect 'Expression' or 'Group by' as column types, and Im having to create 3 sets of queries following on from each other to de-dupe data and allow filters on calculated values.

Also I've got a function which turns a date into a quarterly cohort, e.g. Oct 2013 -> 20134. I use ot on a lot of dates. I created a VBA function, CohortQ used as follows in queries:

Cohort: IIf Year([InputDate]) < 1990 or Year([InputDate]) > 2020, 0 CohortQ([InputDate]))

In the VBA, InputDate is defined as a date

Code:
Function CohortQ(InputDate As Date) As Integer
If InputDate = 0 Then
CohortQ = 0
Exit Function
End If

[Code] .....

But when I run it on a date field, it gives me a data mismatch error. I can't step through as it's working on 600K rows.
If I put the function into the query,

Cohort: IIf Year([InputDate]) < 1990 or Year([InputDate]) > 2020, 0 Year([InputDate])*10+DatePart("q",[InputDate]))

it works.

Queries- Running/Display Results?

Aug 30, 2007

Hey guys-
I have a database of properties for sale. I want to calculate the asking prices of each record (for sale) against the sold prices of all the houses in the same area. Area is defined as a numeric number, and each property has one assigned to it. My question is this-
I have a table of all the properties. Do I run the query and store the results in a specific cell in the table- and then use a form to display those results? Or do I run the query from a form and not store the calculated results at all? I will be adding/updating info on a daily basis, so these calculation results will also change daily. Obviously I am fairly new to Access and trying to figure out how to do this stuff. Using Access 2002. Either way, I assume i'll be using a form to display the results one way or another...
Thanks!
