May 15, 2014I have a date of service [DOS] and a date of birth [Birth Date]
I'm trying to calculate the age at the last day of the date of service year not the current year.
Example:
[Birth Date] = 6/25/1993
[DOS] = 10/18/2013
Age at the last day of the date of service year (12/31/2013) = 20
How to do this. I tried

May 30, 2013I have a date field that is just a typical date field. When I do a query, I want to look up by just the YEAR in that date field. Can I do that or do i need a separate text field with JUST the year entered in? or can i have a field in my table that just looks up the main date field and displays/uses ONLY the year??

Jul 13, 2015I want to build a query that calculates the fiscal year and the month from a date on-the-fly. I tried to do it in VBA, but it's more complicated than in query I guess. So this is my table:
The date is on the left, in the middle I want to have calculated Jan 14 and on the right I want 14/15.
In VBA I started with this: strMonth = MonthName(Month(A), True) & " " & Format(A, "YY") which gave me "Jan 08". But the date was hard-coded and not from my table. Then I tried to store the information by SQL statement into a string. But this also didn't work, the types were different.

example 24/03/2013 only cares about the Month and Year so would look up only March in 2013

I need to create a field called AssumpDate that converts the month into a date field on the 1st day of the month. ex May 2014 needs to read 5/1/2014. When I use the expression AssumpDate: DateValue("1-" & [Assumption_Month] & "-" & Year(Date())) of course the year changes to the current one--2015. How can I I change the expression so that the year is based on the AssumptionYr column?

Apr 25, 2006I have a huge table with transaction dates. I need to slice and dice
this data (sum, %'s, etc), but group by FY. Our fiscal year is from
7/1 thru 6/1.
For example:
1/8/2004 = FY 2004,
8/12/2004 = FY 2005,
2/3/2006 = FY 2006
THEN . . . . I need to also isolate certain periods, for example July-
March for YTD (year-to-date) analysis and compare YTD of 2006 with that
of 2005.

Dec 16, 2013I'm setting up some analytical reports and i'm having a hard time with some date criteria.
I've gotten monthly averages already and what i want to do is take those monthly averages, and average them throughout the year. (the year being from the specified date on a form control back one year)
Month([Forms]![Report Runner]![Date1]) and Year([Forms]![Report Runner]![Date1]) worked great for specifying a certain month in a certain year, but what i'd like is to show all the monthly numbers for every month going back one from [Forms]![ReportRunner]![Date1].
I tried this:

In the Contacts table, I created a field called "Sobriety Date" that has dates formatted like 12/27/1995
I am trying to add a calculated field called "Years Sober" which should be the current year minus the year in the 'Sobriety Date' field (1995 in the example above).
I have been trying to tweak this:
SUM(DatePart("yyyy",[Date]) - DatePart("yyyy",[Sobriety Date]))
but it's not working. Keeps giving me "The expression that you entered is not valid for web-compatible calculated columns"

Nov 20, 2012I have a table which will contain project information, and want the ID field, which auto assigns a unique number to each record, to be formatted like this P12-001, where 12 = the last two digits of the year the record was created. I know that if I type into the format field "P"00"-"000 i get the ID number in the format I want, but cannot figure how to get the first two zeros, to be the date format.
Further, I would like the ID numbers to restart from 1 each year, so this year this first project, P12-001 and may run through to P12-063, then the first project I enter next year to start P13-001.

yy = Last two digits of the year
y = Number of the day of the year (1 to 366) 'can this show three digits all the time?
hh = Hour in two digits (00 to 23)
nn = Minute in two digits (00 to 59)
For instance, right now for Jan. 10th, 2012, 1306 hours the result would be 12101304 which, for all intents and purposes works, but I would prefer the "day of the year" to always be represented by three digits and not just when it hits day 100 of the year.
I would prefer to see 120101304

yyz(t)-yyz(t-12).
T es month. The table has this structure
Area yyz date Y
Area represents different locations. Each area has only one record per month. Month is obviously the field Date. And Y is yyz(t)-yyz(t-12).
I tried to use DateAdd on access 2013 but the function seems strange, and besides, i don't know how to link
Area yyz(t) date Y:yyz(t)-yyz(t-12).
I just want to create a query in which i can see for each record his yyz value this month and yyz the last year on Y.

Anyone know how to create a combo box that has unique month and year entries from a table (month in one column and year in another - i.e. 2 columns)?
I've been able to get the textbox of the combobox to output the correct format using a custom format but it does not affect the combobox data. Also, I'm not sure how to separate this by two columns...

Mar 14, 2006I have a query based on payment date which I have extracted the Year part as a seperate Field StartYear, but I want to now add EndYear which just adds 1 year to the StartDate. e.g. EndYear = StartYear +1. Anyone kow please I know i's proably simple but I keep getting syntax errors.
