In the Ranking column the result is: #error in the first 3 rows then zeroes

I want to do something within Access 2010, but unfortunately I have only partly succeeded so far..

It (almost) completely explains my problem. I have a database with suppliers that participated in tenders. Now I would like to, on a chronological basis, make a "running count" on how often a supplier participated in these tenders (on the basis of supplierID).

In the attachment you can see an example of how the data in my table looks like. With the following function, which I got out of the thread above, I have already been able to make a running count on how often a supplier participated (its "experience").

The function:
DCount("*";"[Table1]";"Supplier_ID = " & [Supplier_ID] & " AND ID <= " & [ID])

So far, so good. But I would like to go for an extra addition, since now the period on which this running count is based is the entire data set, which runs from 2006 till 2013. In other words, Access starts counting from the first record and ends at record 300.000. What I would like to do is to base this running count on the two years before (and including) the tender's Decision_Date, which is also in the dataset.

Example: a specific supplier participated in a tender that took place on 10 december 2010. Know I would like to know its "experience" with tenders, by means of a running count, based on the period from 10 december 2008 till 10 december 2010.

And need to return a running count for the number of visits per subject, so:

I'd like to use DCount and have tried all variations of the following, but none of them returns the correct number:

VisitNumber: DCount("*","mytable","VisitID >= " & [VisitID] & " AND SubjectID =" & [SubjectID])

I have several queries that perform an audit on data. I want to create a form that has two buttons, multiple labels and textboxes. When the first button is pressed, it runs all queries and returns a count of the records within each query into the corresponding textbox. Then I want a a button that will clear all textboxes. I don't want to see the queries, I just want them to run in the background and the count results to be populated in the textboxes.

So for example, it would return:

Check1: 3
Check2: 6
Check3: 2
Check4: 0

i I have two queries.. What i'm hoping is to combine the result into one query but not in one column only but instead the result of the second query should be beside the first query.. The result of the second query should be added as a new column.

First Query

How to take the results of query and copy them to a column in a table?

I am using sharepoint and ms access together, and Sharpoint in this instance will not reference the result of the query. I can only use table fields with Sharepoint...major pain....

Example, I need riders name, weight and height from the column in ALL INfo query to automatically fill the column table in ALL Info

queryreservations!AllINfo.value=tablereservations! Allinfo.value

and how to loop through records that are not filled out already?

seems like it should be a simple Do.command but I am not sure how to code it..

I have built a database that shows the purchase of items that have serial numbers, and so are unique. The database shows the purchase oe each item, and subsequent sale, including "Date In" and Date Out".

Each "item" however has a unique transaction reference (Stock No.) I would like to be able to show what items are currently in stock, and therein lies my problem.I am able to use a select count to find all the instances where the stock number there are two stock numbers (ie In and then Out), but have been unable to find a way to filter the records in a query, to show the stock currently held.

only Single instances of the "Stock No." appear in a table, as that would show the current stock held.I have tried numerous ways to achieve this but I have reached a dead end. I am not experienced in writing with SQL.

I want to add a number to my results within a query depending on the month and how many results. For example I have 10 results in my query 3 from January, 5 from March and the rest from April. The 3 from January would be 1,2,3. The five in March would be 1,2,3,4,5 and so on. Is it possible to do?

I want to count the number of tasks by department by week. I need the time so my date the task was added is formated as a date/time.

I created a query and added the department (twice so that I can group and count), and transaction date. I clicked on totals and added the count function under the department. I added this criteria to the task date: between [start date] and [end date].

Problem is that it's grouping by day and each one is different because all times are different. How do I group these by day and not time?

Running Two Queries From One Inputbox Result!?

Hi,

I have created the following function in my datebase so that i could specify the date a query works from.

Option Compare Database

Function GetParmValue() As Date

GetParmValue = InputBox("Please enter the date you wish to update!?")

End Function

I have a button on a form that runs the query in question, there is also an identical query that needs to be ran using the same result from the input box but rather than it display the input box twice i wondered if there was a way i could use the result from one of the boxes with both queries!?

Here is the code for the button;

DoCmd.OpenQuery "Update"

Queries :: Using Input From A Form As Criteria - Error When Running Report / Query

I have a query that uses the input from a form as criteria, which is then used in a report. The form input is a drop down based on another table. This is a sales pipeline report, and the list is a list of sales people. The report works perfect for all sales people except one. When I run it for the one, I get the following error:

"This expression is is typed incorrectly, or it is too complex to be evaluated. For example, a numeric expression may contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying the expression by assigning parts of the expression to variables".

I DO NOT get the same error when running the query by itself - so assuming there is something in the report causing this. I do have some sum formulas in the report.

Again, no other salespersons selected cause this error -- so I am assuming there is something in the dataset for this person that is causing the error.

Eg. Tenancy start date must be the highest date against the date the property was added back to the system - for post development properties.

At present the it's returning previous tenancies from pre development.

I have a question regarding ranked matches in a query. My data is set up as follows:

Item, Customer, Shipping Plant
65432, 104321, 221
65433, 104321, 221 etc.

For some items and customer combinations, there are multiple plants that can provide the same item item to a customer. I would like to create a ranked column that puts a 1,2,3 and so on for these occurrences. So if a customer get one item from only one plant, the rank would be 1, but if a customer gets the same item from two plants, the first would be rank 1 and second, rank 2 (order doesn't matter).

After some research it seems i should be using

SELECT Count(Distinct [Customer]) FROM [tblMain];

But when i use this i get

Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Count(Distinct Customer)'.

I have tried leaving out the square brackets but this does not work....

I have 2 tables. tblOrders and tblOrdersItems. tblOrdersItems is the child and tbl Orders is the parent. the linking field is OrderID.

I am wanting to count all the OrderID in tblOrders. the criteria i need is EmployeeListID which is stored in tblOrdersItems.

When I put these tables into query design, add the criteria, grouping(see below)

Code:
SELECT tblOrders.OrderID
FROM tblEmployeeList INNER JOIN (tblOrders INNER JOIN tblOrdersItems ON tblOrders.OrderID = tblOrdersItems.OrderID) ON tblEmployeeList.EmployeeListID = tblOrdersItems.Employee

I get (record count at bottom of query screen) 87 records. then i add a field to give me the count so i can then use it i get many more.

How to get the count working. i have uploaded the relevant tbl and my attempted query.

I am working with Access 2010, on vista. What I have is a query made up of two tables, one product the other inventory. (see below) query.jpg

In the product table i have a field called "minimum reorder level". In the inventory table i have two fields one called "number in stock" and "number on order". What i want to happen is "number on order" to be filtered by the result, if the "number in stock", is less than "minimum reorder level", if it is, have the result placed in the "number on order" field. EG. if the "number in stock" = 2 and the "minimum reorder level" = 5 then 3 would be placed in the field "number on order" and only the second record from the query would be visible (see below) Query result.jpg The result of this would mean that the field "number on order" would be populated with the result and the and query would also use this to filter the record.

I am currently using the below code to query values that have a unique "OverrideDescription" and where by the "Upload Date" is always the latest.

SELECT t1.*
FROM [DaisyServiceRates-Amended] AS t1 LEFT JOIN [DaisyServiceRates-Amended] AS t2 ON (t1.OverrideDescription = t2.OverrideDescription) AND (t1.[Upload Date] < t2.[Upload Date])
WHERE t2.OverrideDescription IS NULL;

However I also need to be able to do a unique count of the [OverrideDescription] field.

I have found methods whereby I can do use, but they all use a GROUP BY function, the issue being that when I use this method it prevents be from updating the values saying "recordset not updateable".

Any method that does not use the GROUP function. I did also try preforming the COUNT on a separate table and doing as JOIN, but this also prevented updates to the date.

How to get this one to display in a single column.

I know how to do this wiht VBA. But, this output will need to reside on a SQL Server View. So I need a SQL language solution. If it can work in MS Access Query, it won't be too difficult to test then translate to SQL Server.

Customer Table with PK Customer_ID.

There are two tables with FK Customer_ID.

1. Table Lease1 - Has 3 Fields - the form code enforces No Fields -or All Fields. The red * indicate a Required field - These 3 are entered together.

2. Table Lease2 - Has 1 field with 0 to Many records.

Goal:

The Type shows up in a single column.

Each Type shows where the data comes from (Lease Type, Surface Owner, Mineral Owner, or Hz Lease Type)

Challenge:

Lease1 table has 3 fields that need to be transformed into a single column.

Lease2 table has 1 field to be appended to the single table.

Then, there is the column that identifies where the data came from based on the column name.
