Query/Report Of Multiple Dates Within Same Table
May 17, 2007
I have a table with a separate record for each client.
Each record has 5 future dates called ToDoDate1, ToDoDate2.... and tasks to be done called ToDo1, ToDo2....
I want to create a query that will search the 5 dates from all client's record and pull all the dates selcted within a range and list the ToDoDate, ToDo and name and a report.
I created a parameter query to prompt for user for dates to search between and can get the report to work for ToDoDate1 but I'm unsure of how to do this for the multiple ToDoDate fields.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have 10 tables, 30+ fields on each table (every table has the same 'account number' field). I only need from 5 - 20 fields from each table. How do I get the certain fields from each table and put them in a table, query or report?

I created a pop-up that appears when i open my report so that I can automatically sort through the report by date. However, the report will only allow me to choose one date and i need to be able to choose multiple dates. This pop-up is connected to a list box which has the multi select turned on. How can choose multiple dates through my pop-up?

I have this pretty difficult thing that I would love to get done.
In table the user can set two dates, the begin date for a period and the end date for that same period. The time between the two dates is the time employee has been working.
Now, I'd need the query to show the first of ALL dates on one person and the LAST date. So, if the person has been working first between 1.1.2008 and 31.1.2008 and then between 1.2.2008 and 29.2.2008, the report should show that the person has been working 1.1.2008 - 29.2.2008.
I've tried all I could think of, but can't figure out how this is done.
Also, I've been wondering if it's possible to make the query show if the employee has been away, as in, if the person hadn't been working for couple weeks, let's say 1.3.2008 and 14.3.2008, but then worked between 15.3.2008 and 31.3.2008, the report would show that the person has been working
1.1.2008 - 29.2.2008
15.3.2008 - 31.3.2008.
Heh, that's whole lot of things to do. I hope that was enough information for someone to be able to help me!

Hi there,
I'm trying to 'rank' x5 categories that overlap. To determine the ranking i'm utilising date & time (if the dates are equal). I've managed to do this comparing x2 of the categories but struggling with the logic for x3,x4 & x5 categories
I have the data in separate tables by category date & time and in one large table.
Hoping someone can assist as my head is starting to hurt.
Thanks

I have a list of dates and I want 1 query which counts the dates between numerous criteria. for example, colum 1; dates between 1/1/14 and 16/02/2014. Colum2 between 17/02/2014 and 15/04/2014.
I have attached a screenshot.

I am trying to enter dates in a form that calls a report that invokes a query that uses the dates. It has been a less then satisfying experience. I am getting a Run-Time error 3122. Is it possible and I need to work on syntax or do I need to think of another way? BTW how do I lookup the Run-Time errors?
Thanks for helping an old guy learn new tricks.

I have a report that has an underlying query that asks for Start Date and End Date.
Is there anyway that I can get what the user inputs into the box to be put into the Page header of the report?
ie: user enters into the parameters
[Start Date] 01/01/2006
[End Date] 04/04/2006
Then when the report displays it says
Report for the period 01/01/2006 to 04/04/2006
Thank you for your time

I am trying to find the latest date in a table where the dates are in 2 separate columns and multiple rows. (there are business reasons why there are 2 dates per row they represent different but comparable activities)
I have a table "Assessment tracker" with the following structure
Name Type
Candidate short text
Unit short text
EV1 Date Date
EV2 Date Date
My Data:
Candidate Unit EV1Date EV2 Date
TH1 10 07/05/2015 25/05/15
TH1 10 07/05/2015 07/06/15
I have a query "Candidate AC Dates" that compares the 2 dates EV1 and EV2 and outputs a 3rd column with the latest date.
Query:
PARAMETERS [Candidate Name] Value;
SELECT [Assessment Tracker].Candidate, [Assessment Tracker].Unit, [Assessment Tracker].[EV1 Date], [Assessment Tracker].[EV2 Date], Max(MaxDate([Assessment Tracker]![EV1 Date],[Assessment Tracker]![EV2 Date])) AS Achdate
FROM UnitData INNER JOIN [Assessment Tracker] ON UnitData.Unit = [Assessment Tracker].Unit
[Code]....
Output:
CandidateUnitEV1 DateEV2 DateAchdate
TH11007/05/2015 25/05/201525/05/2015
TH11007/05/2015 07/06/201507/06/2015
It does this by using a function shamelessly copied from the web somewhere...
Function Maxdate(ParamArray FieldArray() As Variant)
' Declare the two local variables.
Dim I As Integer
Dim currentVal As Date' Set the variable currentVal equal to the array of values.
currentVal = FieldArray(0)
' Cycle through each value from the row to find the largest.
[Code]....
This is working well (I think)
I then want to find the latest date for the 2 records i.e. the Max value for the Achdate.
Query:
SELECT [Candidate AC Dates].Candidate AS Expr1, [Candidate AC Dates].Unit AS Expr2, Max([Candidate AC Dates].Achdate) AS MaxOfAchdate
FROM [Candidate AC Dates]
GROUP BY [Candidate AC Dates].Candidate, [Candidate AC Dates].Unit
ORDER BY [Candidate AC Dates].Candidate, [Candidate AC Dates].Unit, Max([Candidate AC Dates].Achdate) DESC;
But this is returning
Candidate Unit MaxOfAchdate
TH1 1025/05/2015
I expect it to return
Candidate UnitMaxOfAchdate
TH1 10 07/06/2015
It looks to me like MAX is considering only the day value rather than the whole date. I suspect this is because it is considering the results of the function in the first query as a short text rather than a date field. (I've tried to force this through declaring the variables as dates but don't know where else to force this. (I am UK based hence the DD/MM/YYYY format)

Hi everyone
I'm a very very new access user so many apologies in advance for when I have no idea what I"m talking about.
I'm working on creating a report that will display multiple expiration dates. Currently I have an employee database, not created by me, that has all of our employees professional licenses listed.
Prof license, auto license, liability, etc.
I want to create a report that will tell me what has already expired or will expire in the next 30 days.
I did use this
Between DateAdd("d",-30,Date()) and Date() and it is bringing back info up to 2009. which isn't what I need. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here.
I want anything that has expired regardless of the date from today, before today, and 30 days from today but I don't care about anything more than 30 days from today's date.
I noticed that when I looked at the existing database that the fields are set as text fields. I tried to change them to dates and it gave me a "deleting 106" records error message. Yikes!
Any help would be appreciated. I don't really understand expressions and I don't understand if I'm supposed to put the actual date in parentheses or what. Please pardon my ignorance.
Many many thanks.

I'm creating a database for my wife to use in her work, one of the fields is dates visited and the user should enter "00/00/0000, 11/11/1111, 22/22/2222, 33/33/3333" in this format. The field is a large text format because there could be anything from 1 date to hundreds. What I need to be able to do is in my query I need to enter 2 dates and have access return a how many dates exist between those 2 date values. eg It will pop up a box asking for start date and then another asking for end date and then it has to return the count total of how many dates exist between those two date values. I don't know VB and have had only basic training in Java and C# none of which involved Access. The only way I can think of doing it is to have access count the number of commas within the date field required but I don't know the formula required assuming it can even be done.

I have a three-column query that tells me how many hours I have available per week for a given resource type (e.g. welders). I have a second three-column query that tells me how many hours of work I have planned per week for a given resource type.I'm hoping to produce a query (the source for a report) that will show resource types in rows and twelve months in 24 columns. the first column for each month will show how many hours I have available for all my resources, the second column for each month will show how many hours I have allocated.
How do I produce a query that will combine the other two queries, inserting zeroes where necessary considering that for any given week I might have allocated work to a resource that isn't available (because the inconsiderate buggers think they are entitled to holiday) or I might have a resource that has no work allocated (because I'm incompetent)?

I have a scenario where the first three rows of date which have dates of 4/1, 4/4/ 4/6 with ndc 5513026701; next six rows that have dates from 4/8 to 4/20 with ndc 5513014801; next three rows that have dates from 4/25, 4/27, 4/29 with ndc 5513026701.
The issue I am having is I do not know how to have separate min/max dates for ndc 5513026701 since when I group by ndc 5513026701 min = 4/1 ; max = 4/29. I need to have min = 4/1 and max = 4/6 for one row and another row of min = 4/25 and max = 4/29.
Any easy way to sequentially create min/max for each ndc 5513026701? I wasn't sure how to verbalize this so I have attached a sample worksheet.....

i have three tables (one for each production line) which people input data into everyday and the data is different each day depending on the part numbers and number produced. I want to create a report that shows me the part numbers and amount produced by each line for a certain day.
I've tried putting all three in the same query put i get 300 repeating results when i should only get about 20 unique ones. I've also tried making three seperate queries and combining them into one but this gives the same result.
Also I've tried having sub-reports for each table for individual queries, but this then just prompts me to enter the date multiple times or gets stuck in a continuous loop of date entry.

I'm just wondering if there's any way I can do this with a datasheet or a crosstab type setup?
It's Access 2010.

Hi,
I am using VB.NET 2003 and MS Access XP for a desktop application. While developing the application we have a reached a situation where we want to print a report which retrieves records from four tables. Till here it is easy to think that it can be done by a simple SQL JOIN query, but following is the complexity:
The first table stores a single row.
The second table stores multiple rows related to the Primary Key field defined in Table One.
The third table stores a single row related to the Primary Key field defined in Table One.
The fourth table stores a single row related to the Primary Key field defined in Table One.
The above SAVE RECORD option is performed when a user fills a Form of my application. As stated above, all the four tables are inter-related with a Primay Key field (TNo) defined in table one.
I also have a MS Access Report that will print information retrieved from all the four tables. The Report has some of the fields from each of the above table. The SAVE operation is performed in this way:
(1) A unique TNo is generated for a new record that is about to be created.
(2) All the entries are saved in their respective tables (mentioned above.)
(3) An access query will fetch the records pertaining to this TNo from all the tables to fill the report.
I want to know how to write such a query when I have to fetch multiple rows of a table in between. Is there any way that I can pass the TNO as a parameter to this query that is saved in MS Access?

I am trying to create a simple Search form in Access where a user can select a desired record and query multiple tables using the inputs.
I would like them to be able to query Retailers, Distributors and Products.
The 6 tables are linked as follows:
Although some of these tables are not included in the query, they are required to ensure relationships.
Retailers -- Uses (RetailerID,DistributorID) -- Distributors
Retailers -- Orders (RetailerID,ProductID) -- Products
All retailers have at least one distributor BUT a retailer may or may not have ordered any products.
I have created my form but the query linked to the form is having some trouble. It is only selecting those records that have ordered products. For example, if I query a retailer name only and it does not have any ordered products, it will not display. Is there a problem with the table joins? The SQL for the query is displayed here:

I have a parameter that I need to get a table contents between dates. In the query:
Birthdate: XXTable: criteria as follows: Between [Enter Start Date] and [Enter End Date:]
When run it gives me the Error - ! This expression is type incorrectly, or its too complex to be evaluated. For example, a numeric expression may contain too many complicated elements. Try simplifying the expression by assigning parts of the expression to variables
I have tried almost everything. The formatting of the Birthdate is x/x/xxxx or shortdate. Will this affect the input thus affecting the outcome of the query.

I need a report printed based on the multiple criteria query only showing the results that I ask for.
For e.g. in office 5, computer IBM, issued.

Running Access 2010 and developed this query to filter out data from a table between times on 2 dates (day before report run and day of report). Covers data from a shift that carries over to the next day.Trouble is, the PC i developed on still operates the query as expected. However, on the PC the database resides (not networked just stored) and operates, the query brings up no data at all unless I remove the Time filtering.
This PC used to operate correctly up until early this year (about 18 months operated correctly) when the PC was replaced due to failure. Access version is the same and I am at wits end to what the cause is. Here is what my query looks like:
Quote:
SELECT Breakdowns.BreakdownDate, Breakdowns.Time, Breakdowns.Shift, Breakdowns.Downtime, Breakdowns.Equipment, Breakdowns.Conveyor, Breakdowns.Fault, Breakdowns.Stopper, Breakdowns.Gate, Breakdowns.Dolly, Breakdowns.Carrier, Breakdowns.FaultType, Breakdowns.Comments, Breakdowns.Tradesman
FROM Breakdowns
WHERE (((Breakdowns.BreakdownDate)=Date()) AND ((Breakdowns.Time) Between #00:00:00# And #6:29:00#) AND ((Breakdowns.Shift)="Night")) OR (((Breakdowns.BreakdownDate)=Date()-1) AND ((Breakdowns.Time) Between #22:30:00# And #23:59:00#) AND ((Breakdowns.Shift)="Night"));

I have been running 5 reports to gather company information. I then take the data from these 5 reports and manually load them into an Excel spreadsheet to calculate a grand total. I would like to be able to run a query or report within my database to get the same information. I have attached a copy of my spreadsheet for review.
Could someone please review this spreadsheet and help me design an easier method of calculating a grand total.

I have a database that has over 20 tables in it and am using Access 2000. Unfortunately I cannot change the structure as it performs specific functions, so I am stuck with it.
I have created a Union Query from these tables yaking data from 5 fields using the Serial Number entered by the user.
SELECT[Workstation].UnitPart,PropertyTag,UnitSerial,Date,Technician
FROM[Workstation]
WHERE((([Workstation].UnitSerial)=[Enter Serial No.];
UNION
SELECT[LAPTOP].UnitPart,PropertyTag,UnitSerial,Date,Technician
[Code] ....
I use a bar code scanner to scan the serial number, and it goes through the tables and returns the results along with the other specified fields.
I would like to scan up to 16 or more different serial numbers and have it return the results. Perhaps scan the first 16 serial numbers, then run the query? Is that possible. The serial numbers are unique and will return a combination of laptops, printers, monitors, etc...
I have created a report from the above union query and it works perfectly with only one serial number entered.

I currently have a combo box (combo121) on a form. I select the "Company" which is connected to "Company" in the query via [Forms]![courseinfo].[combo121]..That is working. When I press the "query" button on the form the selected company in the combo box is updated in the query and it updates the report templates.I also want to use the same system to populate a different report, using the same query. This works a bit differently.
Once the company is selected in the first combo box(combo121). I have other combo boxes which bring up students attached to that company. I have multiple combo boxes because I need select multiple students for the one report. These students are in fields "First Name" and "Last Name". So in the query I can only have those fields once. I have several links to the several combo boxes under "Last Name" as that is the "bound" selection for the combo box:
[Forms]![courseinfo].[comboname1]
[Forms]![courseinfo].[comboname2]
[Forms]![courseinfo].[comboname3]
Problem I am finding is this is bringing up several lines in the query. So when I try to populate the report with all of the different Students I have selected for the query, it won't work properly because I can only put "First Name" & 'Last Name" fields on the report once.

I have a query that returns numerous rows of data per person per day.
Simplified Example ( ';' used to show columns):
LastName ; Date ; DrillNumber ; Score
Smith ; 18/9/14 ; 0 ; 100
Smith ; 18/9/14 ; 1 ; 150
Smith ; 18/9/14 ; 2 ; 120
Doe ; 18/9/14 ; 0 ; 150
Doe ; 18/9/14 ; 1 ; 150
Doe ; 18/9/14 ; 2 ; 100
etc.
I'm trying to create a report that shows each of the scores per drill in the report per person (Dont worry about the formatting):
Name: Smith
Date: 18/9/14
Drill & Score:
0 - 100
1 - 150
2 - 120
However, when I drag the field lists into the report Im getting a new report entry for each drill eg.
Smith
18/9/14
0 - 100
Smith
18/9/14
1 - 150
etc.
Any way to get all drills to show in the one report entry per person? So all data for Smith is in the one report or report section, and then all the data for Doe.

At present I have a tblData, a tblPeople, a long union query and a report that displays its results. On a form I select a person from tblPeople (another field on that table contains their email address), run the query and report in that person's respect and email the results to them.
What I want to do is add a button which runs some VBA code which cycles through tblPeople, runs the query for each person, works out if the query has returned any records from tblData for that person, and if so - sends them the report.
I am using Access 2010
