I need to generate a report with records generated on a daily basis and I am looking how to write the query expression. For example, my Access database generates record on a daily basis and I an using a query to generate the report. I only want to report the records created on that day, and then each subsequent day. So, in the query, I am looking for the correct expression to grab only those records generated that day. (Hope its not confusing, I'm new at this)
I have a query that reports the number of students that are currently enrolled in a given number of schools within an area for that given day that the query is ran. This number can fluctuate greatly day to day, so is there a way to create a table which can hold this information so that I can go back in history and look up what our numbers were on whatever given day (date). (The example below is just a representation of what I actually have.) The School number would be unique, as would the date (I assume), I would like to see all of our school on whatever given date to see what our numbers are or were.
I have an example of the query currently I have set up in access 2007:
School # School Name Qty Date 001 BLUE 300 02/26/2014 002 RED 468 02/26/2014 003 YELLOW 10 02/26/2014
VS
School # School Name Qty Date 001 BLUE 310 02/27/2014 002 RED 400 02/27/2014 003 YELLOW 8 02/27/2014
The multi-user application I'm making uses data from another system. I get reports in csv format e-mailed to me in zip format. Since it's a multi-user system, I have to create a table with the records from the csv I get an error message that someone is viewing the data if I try viewing it while someone is viewing it.
When I get the e-mail with the latest version of the csv, I unzip it and replace the older file in the folder location that the Access database is linked to. I have a sub routine that deletes everything from the table and inserts the records from the latest csv. I execute the sub by pressing a button.
Is there a way to automate unzipping the file, extracting it to the folder and running the sql code in VBA?
I have a kids club which do lots of functions for kids, to monitor the members and who is in and out I did a small access data base with details of Start date of the function and end date for each member.
I want to make a daily report showing only the active members in today date only for example:
Jack have swimming every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday Between 14 July 2015 till 14 August 2015 Jill have swimming every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday Between 14 July 2015 till 14 August 2015
today is 11 August 2015 and I want to report to mention just who is active today only.

I am working on Access2007. I designed a report that I need to email every night automatically to my client. The report resides in the Access database. I currently use a macro to auto email this report for me but it still requires me to double click the macro to make it run. I actually want the report to be email at night without having me running the macro manually. Is there any way to make this happen?
Having experimented with Access for a few months now; I know you can link an Access Database to SharePoint, and you can export Excel files into Access for inclusion in tables.
My question is; If I have a daily report being produced, through script, with an excel output. Is there anyway to automatically publish this in Access, negating the need to manually go into Access to import?
I have a report that shows the daily activities. it shows how long it takes to do each task. however some tasks are 8 hours andsome are 10 hours. when all these times are added together it will give the time on a clock. not a total of hours spent.
i.e. treatment1 : 8 hours treatment2: 10 hours
this will give 06:00 in short time. in medium time it will give 18:00.
however if I add another 12 hours to that it will give 06:00.
I want it to show either 1 day and 4 hours /or 30 hours.
A few months ago I created a report that displays the results of a long union query comprising a dozen or so individual queries, each containing an expression that yields a date (or sometimes date and time). I set the report to group by query and then sort by the date expression. Now for some reason that I can't fathom the report has always only ever offered me the option to sort the date "A to Z", I infer it thinks the date is text, but this misunderstanding has never actually stopped it sorting by date perfectly well. It worked. No problems.
However I have recently added formatting to some of the queries so that they just display date, not date and time e.g. Format([dateandtime],"dd/mm/yyyy"), and now the sort by date in the report no longer works. None of the sorting or grouping options have changed, but it now sorts just by the "dd" component of the date - so it thinks 21st June is later than 20th July. why?
I have a database, in which I need to add up the total number of entries made at any point of the day. I have started by creating a query with the entry's SerialID (unique) and the date it was entered, however I am stuck already.
I have a production application in which i have a table named daily_production with fields as ( prod_id, date, productname, qty ). Now I want a daily production query as
date : xx-xx-xxxx productname | qty | monthlysum(for thsi product) | daily average |
I want this on a single query so that i can make a report out of this .
I am trying to create a query that will provide a field for each day of a month. However, I want the query to be able to work for any month that I want to run on based on a parameter. Basically I want this:
Day 1: Sum(IIF([ReleaseDate]=#[# of Month]/1/[# of Year]#,[GamesSold],0) Day 2: Sum(IIF([ReleaseDate]=#[# of Month]/2/[# of Year]#,[GamesSold],0) and so on for 31 fields.
I don't use Access too often but I'm trying to connect a table to some business intelligence software I use.
A. Date B. Price C.Ydayprice 01/01/2015 101.45 02/01/2015 104.70 03/01/2015 103.00
Simple stuff. Once I've connected to the table, I can easily do what I want with Field 'Price' and 'Ydayprice'. However, I can't calculate column C. All I want is row 2 to say 101.45, R3 to say 104.7 etc. I've tried various things but I don't have the knowledge to write the action I require. I don't want to calculate the change in Access either.
How to build query to give daily balance across bank accounts? (to then plot in a graph)
Assumptions:
* There is a table TRANSACTIONS which includes columns TRANS_DATE, AMOUNT and BANK_ID. It does NOT include a column for balance. So current balance for a bank account is the sum of the AMOUNTs for that BANK_ID for example. Balance on date XX will be the sum of all AMOUNTS for that BANK_ID for all TRANS_DATE's prior and including the date XX. * Table BANKS which has BANK_ID and TITLE
Would like a query that gives: Supply StartDate and EndDate for the query:
I have a query where I ORDER BY ClientId, MatterId and Transdate. The result of the query is correct. All of the transdates are in ASC order within the Matter.
When I run the report for a MatterId the relative transactions are not sorted on transdate
Can there be something in the report that could be effecting the order of the transactions.
I have a report, based on a query, where the field name is "Date of Work". The criteria in this query field is >=[Start Date] And <=[End Date], which works fine. However I need to have the start and end dates to show in the resulting report header based on the query.
I am having trouble getting a query or report to show only the most recent data.
We have salesmen that use a handheld data collector scanners to count inventory in stores. The scanner data is imported to a Access table. Each record line is one scanned item. I have a query with totals that counts the records and gives me a total count of each item at the store on that date.
I then need to filter the data to only show the most recent date. Using Max Date I get the most recent date but the count fields are showing totals for all dates. I am also getting the unique item from the earlier date in this query which I do not want.
Here is my data table: Inventory Scans from stores.
Scan Date Item Scanned location
1/1/2014 item123 Store ABC
1/1/2014 item123 Store ABC
......
Here is my Query with Totals that counts the item records:
Scan Date Item Scanned location (Item Scanned) count
1/1/2014 item123 Store ABC 2
1/1/2014 item 456 Store ABC 3
1/1/2014 item 789 Store ABC 1
2/1/2014 item123 Store ABC 2
2/1/2014 item 456 Store ABC 1
This is what I am trying to get - only the most recent date of counted items:
Scan Date Item Scanned location (Item Scanned) count
Is there a way to show the earliest and latest dates of a report generated by a non-date field?
E.g. I generate a report based on Food, and it'll list the days that this food is associated with. Is there a way to show the first and last day that appears in this report (i.e. the range of dates that the report shows based on the food selected)
I have a table that has entries recorded with date and time in one field, and I want to have a query that returns all records of a specified date or date range, regardless of the time in the field.
I have tried
Code: Between [StartDate:] And [EndDate:]
And
Code: Between [StartDate:] & "00:00" And [EndDate:] & "23:59"
Hi all - How do I run a daily macro? I have a macro with an OUTPUT TO command that exports a report as a text file on my c: drive. I've tried using the MS Scheduled Tasks but when it opens MS Access to run the macro, the macro doesn't run. I think it's because the Access program is flashing and not in focus. When I click on the Access pgm, the macro runs just as planned. The only way around this is to have the macro print something before my OUTPUT TO command, but printing something every day isn't reasonable for me.
i want to have a feature in my database like the following..
these are basically day to day clock in times for my staff..
is there a way that everday.. a new record will be created..
eg.. on 04/06/06... i turn on my pc for the first time.. and when i view the timesheet form.. a record for today is automatically created.. then throughout the rest of the day, this form will be displayed..
when i turn on my pc on 05/06/06, the database will know its a different day, so it creates a new record for today... then i can just move back and forth throughout the days to see the details..
if i then turn my computer off for 5 days, then turn it on at 10/06/06, it still should have made records for 6,7,8, and 9th June, but they will be empty, and the record im shown is for the 10/06/06,
I currently have a table that holds 2 months of data. Let's just use January/February 2004 as an example.
The field name is [DateReceived] and goes from '1/1/2004' to '2/29/2004'. I need to group my records in 7-day spans for a future query, so anything from 1/1 to 1/7 would be grouped, etc.....
I have no idea how to do this. Any help would be great.
Hi all Im trying to put together a Drivers Log that HGV drivers use on a laptop in there truck rather than having to fill in piles of paper work. The problem is you have to fill in your name, flt No: and regestration on every sheet, so I have decided to put together a db where as you fill as little information as possible which will be defaulted to every sheet (Form) and with a small portable printer in the truck, print out all the sheets, I have asked several questions about my db on this forum and they have been solved but Im having a problem with a default. Table1 (Form1) is the drivers details, it has a field "Drivers Name" Im wanting to default the field to the other tables in the db, The table 1 will not be open as when a driver fills in his details it will be saved and closed, My question is it possible to do this????? Thank you
