View RepliesIn my report have a group header (type). I just want to print a label on top each row in detail section except first row in each header.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a report that spits out a barcoded label for items on my inventory. What I'd like to know, is if there is a way in 2010 to allow the user to select where on the page for the label to print.
I found a way that looks like it worked for 2007, but it required enabling ADO, which I am not able to do on my work computer.
I'm running Access 2003 and my question relates to delivery notes that are produced for drivers as reports. These delivery notes have a blank payment box for the driver to complete if the customer pays upon delivery.
As more and more customers are prepaying by credit cards, I'd like this payment box to be automatically filled with a "PAID" text which will let the driver know the order has already been paid for.
The delivery note is produced from an "Orders" table which has a "Paid" field whose value is automatically set to "Yes" when the order has been paid for.
I was hoping to be able to place a "PAID" label on the report which is only visible when the Paid field of the underlying query is Yes.
As things are at the moment I cannot see any way to put any conditional statement onto this Text/Label. The only options for the "Is Visible" property of the text are Yes or No.
I have a report that displays on a continuous style report. What courses the employee have been on and when they expire
right I have field call expirydate and another call dayover showing the number of days till that course has expired also I have made a label called Expired1
now what I'm trying to do.....
if the expirydate has passed I want the expired1 label to be visible and dayover field to become invisible
I have tried
Code:
Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
If Me.Expirydate < Date Then
Me.expired1.Visible = True
Me.DaysOver.Visible = False
End If
If Me.Expirydate > Date Then
Me.expired1.Value = False
Me.DaysOver.Value = True
End If
I have also tried the code on current event on the report
now my problem if one of the course has expired it will show the label called Expired1 but on all the records but I only want it to display on the record that has expired and leave the daysover text box visible if course has not expired
I have several reports that include subreports in them, each one has a bold border surrounding it. When viewing the reports in Access, the spacing and layout is great.
But when I print the reports--either physically or to PDF--the text within the subreports somehow shifts left and up. Some of the subreports--by virtue of chance--happen to have enough extra space, but others don't and part of the text gets clipped by the border.
I'm not exactly motivated to go through the reports and readjust the layout for each one but if there's a database setting that I can change to correct it that would be nice.
I've attached a screenshot (where the layout is perfect) and a printed PDF (where the text is clipped) of one of the reports. The issue can best be seen in the Public/Private ZooMobile and Indoor/Outdoor ZooMobile subreports.
I have researched on here how to print the results of a query to a text file. I put the code in and I get an error on the openrecordset line. The error says "too few parameters, expected 4"
I tried the query in another report I export to excel and the query works.
I tried printing the whole table using "Select * from tbl_Customers" and it works????
Here is the code:
Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
Set rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("qryBell1", dbOpenSnapshot)
Dim fs, TextFile
Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set TextFile = fs.CreateTextFile(pathname, True)
[Code] ....
the query returns 6 fields for printing and can filter based on whether 3 fields are filled or not on the form - Date, Campaign, Status
I have always noticed that when creating a report, when you make a paragraph using a label, the alignment and size of the text/paragraph is always different when you preview the report than when you design it.
This makes alignment of paragraphs tricky, especially when you are trying to insert a bold faced word into the middle of a block of text by using a separate label.
I am using Access 2000
I have an old access database (written with 2003 but running under 2010) that creates workorders and I need to change a couple of the reports to print three copies with each copy having different text in the footer. I'm converting the reports from a old DOT Metrix special form printer to a laser printer. I have already modified the reports as far as the titleing and cosmetics are concerned and they print and look great on the laser printer. I have also added a TxT box that I want to contain the information on the report.
The reports are generated in a couple of different ways off different screens in the system off buttons, but I figured if I can get one of them to work I can replicate it to the others.
I have gone through the reports forum and have found a couple of solutions but can't get them to work. This is what I have found:
On the on button to print a range of workorders (it drives a query that asks for a starting workorder number and a ending workorder number) click from the from the switchboard:
DoCmd.OpenReport "rptBulkWorkOrdersbyWorkOrderNumberRange", , , , , "1"
DoCmd.OpenReport "rptBulkWorkOrdersbyWorkOrderNumberRange", , , , , "2"
DoCmd.OpenReport "rptBulkWorkOrdersbyWorkOrderNumberRange", , , , , "3"
Then I have this code but I'm not sure where it goes. On the report in the "on open" expression? not sure..
Select Case Me.OpenArgs
Case "1"
txtBox62 = "Shop Copy"
txtFld1 = [qryField1]
[Code] .....
I had a subfrom with two combos and a label,
-the user selects name or id from the combo and the label gets filled with information.
-added a print this on the subform and I thought it worked but when I tested it it does not print the data, only a blank label and the two blank combo boxes...
I was wondering if there is an option to print the caption of a label, or if anyone knew how to fix the problem i have above.
Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.
I have created labels to print from my database so that we can scan a barcode to access a specific computer. I am trying to figure out how to print just a single label instead of every label for every employee.

Hi--I have a contact database, and would like to be able to have a command button on the form for each contact to print one individual mailing label for that particular contact, preferably in a user-specified row/column on a page of Avery 6245 labels. Am realizing that this is a major hassle in Access but would like to do it within Access (why is it so easy to print huge lists of labels but so hard to print just one??). Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty good at writing queries and reports in Access but a rank newbie at the underlying SQL and VBA so need major handholding if that's involved (and I know it is ). Thanks.

I am new to Access and I have just imported my old ham radio logs from a DOS based Smart database - rememeber that one.
I have created a reasonable functioning table. I have also created a Query to sort certain records for which I want to print labels to affix to my radio card which I wish to send to other radio stations (called QSL cards). I have created a Report to run the Query and to print a label. Here is my label. It is a mixture of text strings and data from my log database Query.
To Radio 9U9Z QSL QSO
dd/mm/yy UTC Freq Mode RST
24-Feb-07 18:44:00 18.148 ssb 55
73's de Mark N1XX (WAB 11XXX)
Here is the code for the date time etc line - the 3rd line down on the label above - taken from the design view
=Trim([Date] & " " & [Time_UTC] & " " & [Frequency] & " " & [Mode] & " " & [Rpt_Sent])
I am not sure how to format the date to print just the hours and minutes. I would have hoped that since the main log table was using a short time that it would have folowed automatically. In fact the time was printing as 12 hour time and I had to go into my Windows XP preferences and change the pc to a 24 hr clock to get it to print as a 24 hour clock. I tried setting the pc to an hrs and minutes time but it didn't fix my label format. It still shows seconds. I would like to get label to print 24hr hours and minutes and be able to set my pc back to a 12 hour clock format.
Thanks for your help. I still have loads to learn with this database program.
thanks Mark
Basically i have a form where i get info from multiple tables. On the main form itself i have 3 calculated fields for hours where i add all the hours i choose (from a subform) onto the main form.
My issue is i can create a query to come up with all the fields for my report, but how do i get the calculated fields on my main form on the report? Is there a way to print the calculated fields on the main form to a report? or do i have to do the same calculations on the report itself?
In access database we register the following fields:
Company name - Address - Artickle - Number of copies
We then want access to print a report with these informations, except for the number of copies, which should be the number of duplicates that is to be printed.
I want to print text based upon the content of the field but need more than the IIF statement. For example, if the field contains an "A" I want to print "Active", "C" I want to print "Closed", "N" I want to print "New", etc.
Thanks in advance for any help. You guys have always had an answer in the past!
I've got a "Made in the USA" yes/no toggle field in my database. When I go to print out the info in a report, I'd like for the report to recognize whether I have a true/false condition, and print out "Made in the USA" where appropriate?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a DB that will have multiple reports available. What I would like to do is to have a form that lists the reports available from a reports table. In other words, each detail line of the form will contain a report. I would like to have a button or link placed in the detail line that will open the report for that detail line when it is clicked. This will keep me from having to add a new line to a static form every time I add a report.
I have tried the DoCmd.OpenReport command, but it requires a report name, and I can't find where you can place a field name variable in the command line. I have tried other things I have seen here, but none have done the trick.
I have a question related with a report i`m using to print labels. I am not familiar with Access and this is quite a challenge to do it alone.
In the attached file there is a report called "MICRA", when started it asks that you want to select (default is 1 and special select in this case is 11) and next it asks "SPS", the value entered there is printed in the bottom right corner of the report.
My question is is it possible if in the SPS field is entered a special value (for example "MASS") to print 30 labels of each selected label with text in this fiels = "val.1"; 15 with text in the field = "val.2"; 10 with "val.3" and 10 with "val.4" and after that to print next label with same rules...
And if not entered "MASS" to print just 4 copies of every label.
Hi there,
I have created a form containing contact details for a 100 or so different people/companies. I want to have a button that will allow me to print an address label for the current displayed record (e.g. when I find the company I wish to contact in my form I wish to click [Print Label] and then get this company's address printed on my label).
Have some programming experience but not sure how to go about this in access?
Also as an aside question, is it possible for me to display a list in my form instead of individual records. What I mean is that I would have Name, Address, etc as titles accross the top and then would have a list of all records below these. Then I could click on a record to get more detail and also click on one of the titles to re-order the data by this field?......I know these are pretty big questions but a pointer to somewhere with this info or a sample app doing something similiar would be great. :)
Thanks for your time, regards,
Lavaghman
I have a query that returns several records, typically 1 to 5. I need to print a label for each record returned by the query. Printing a label is no problem, but how do I print sequentally for each record in the query?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a label visible on a form during print if a field has "like a string". We use a form so that it prints 3 forms to one page (They are tags for units for repair). I can get the label to be visible in the form view but when I print, the label is visible on every record where it is only visible on the current record in form view. My goal is to have the label only show on those records where the condition is met.
Here is my code that works in form view only: (It is to designate easier a warranty tag from a new repair tag)
Code:
If Me.Problem_Description Like "Warr*" Then
Me.lbl_w.Visible = True
Else
Me.lbl_w.Visible = False
End If
I have attached an image of a tag sheet Tag_Sheet_W.jpg. As you can see if I got my desired result only the first tag would have a W.
I print a report onto labels (Avery 5960: 3 columns of 10 labels on a letter sized piece of paper). The report and labels print fine BUT...
I need physical page breaks between certain sections. When I click on "keep whole group together on one page" in the "group by" section of the report, it starts a new COLUMN of labels (which Access sees as a new page), but does not force an actual new piece of paper.
How can I force a real page break?
I have a single field in a table called "Client Contact", where users enter a semicolon between the name, address, and city state & zip. My reason for this was so we could copy client info with a single copy and paste (like from an email). But, on the final report, it needs to have these three parts split up into different lines, or even different textboxes. I can't find a way to do that.
