If it possible to change if a group is visible based on what page a different group is printed on.
The report I'm working on is a Invoice and it has subtotals in one group and totals in another group.
If the totals are going to print on page 1 then there is no need to print the subtotals. Is there a way to know what page the totals will print on so I can set visible for subtotal group to true or false?
Is there a way to have an expression in the control source of a text box in a report, that re-starts or is exclusive for every group within the report?
I need to have a subform that shows up smack dab in the middle of my main screen when visible - which is what I want - but only based on a specific value of a control on the main form. Specifically, if a control's value is "See Spreadsheet", I want the subform visible front and center as it contains the link to the server location for that specific record. If the control's value is not "See Spreadsheet", I want the form to be invisible.
My code:
If Me.BudgetsFacultyAccountNumber = "SEE SPREADSHEET" Then Me.frmMsgBoxUpdateSpreadsheet.Form.Visible = True Me.BudgetsFacultyServerLocation.Visible = True Else: Me.frmMsgBoxUpdateSpreadsheet.Form.Visible = False Me.BudgetsFacultyServerLocation.Visible = False End If
The red lines result in an MS VBA error: "Compile error: Method or data member not found."
I've tried referencing that subform a hundred different ways, but I can't get it to work.
My company has a new database that we will use to track PTO (paid time off/vacation), including the submission/approval process. Not everyone should have access to the approval dashboard as that should be restricted to only managers. Everyone will have the same basic form so that they can see their PTO history, hours remaining to be used, etc.
What I want to do is have a button on the form that is visible only if the person is a manager. The button will open the PTO approval form. How can I make a button visible/invisible based on user access levels?
Form 1: I have a combo box on my main menu(MenuMainF) called cboCompanyType with typical values 1,2,3,4,5,etc......
Form 2: I have a command button on my administration menu(MenuAdminF) called cmdDevelopment
My goal is to have the cmdDevelopment button of Form 2 be visible if cboCompanyType on Form 1 is equal to 1,2,3, or 4, but if it is any other value, then cmdDevelopment should be not visible.
I have a report which is grouped by employee number - each group can have one or many records displayed - it works fine, but can look untidy sometimes when there are more records than will fit without wrapping onto another page; this is particularly prevalent when there are two or three groups - the third one may run over onto the next page, without group headers.
Is there anyway to force a page break at the bottom of a group if that group is not going to fit on the current page in its entirety?
I'm working on a project where I must save roughly 1000 individual access reports based on the group to a specific folder in pdf format.
Problem:The code I found on this site works, but not exactly the way I need it to. Using the current code (pasted below) all of the pages of the report are being saved to pdf for each group, instead of just the single page. For example, all 1000 pages of the report are being saved to each pdf file, when I only want the 1 page for each of the groups.
I believe that the problem lies in the filter for the Open Event code, but I don't know how to modifiy it to make it work the way I need.
CODE:
Option Compare Database Public strRptFilter As String Private Sub Report_Click() Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Set rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT DISTINCT [SHIP_TO_CODE] FROM [qryWty&PendingData] ORDER BY
I have a music database in which I keep track of my CDs and how many times I've listened to them. I have a report that uses grouping to show me the total listens for each artist for each year - the totals are in a group footer, with nothing in the detail section of the report. It looks something like this:
The first line is the column header showing years (last 2 digits for space reasons).
The second and subsequent lines are created in the group footer section, first is the artist name, then the Sum of listens for all titles by that artist in the year given ([Sum of Listens1994]).
This report works perfectly.
Here's what I want to do, and I can't get it to work:
In the above lines of data, let's say that the earliest title for BAND1 is from 1975, and the earliest title for BAND2 is from 2001. My yearly counts start in 1994. Therefore, there were listens for BAND1 prior to 1994, but there weren't any listens for BAND2 prior to 2001.
GOAL: Instead of showing "00" on the BAND2 line for years 1994-2000, I want them blank.
I've put a conditional format code in OnFormat for the group footer section, telling Access to turn visibility off for the text box control ([Sum of Listens1994] etc) if the [Earliest] field (which contains 2001) is greater than the year being displayed (1994 first, and so on). This, which seems like it should work, makes no difference. Oddly, if I put a F9 code break on the If statement, it never breaks, which makes me believe the code is never even being executed.
I do have prior experience with controlling field visibility in forms and reports, so the concepts aren't new to me. I feel like the big difference with this one is that it's in the group footer section rather than the detail section. [Access 2013]
So I have a report with two pages. One page is about product exchange information and the other one payment. This report can either be printed or saved as a pdf (one pdf for both pages) and e-mailed.
This works fine, however if the item is under warranty then the exchange is for free and I do not want to print/e-mail the 2nd page (payment). My trigger field for this is "Warranty" which can be "Yes" or "No".How can I prevent that 2nd page from printing/e-mailing? Can it be simply skipped when the report is being created based on my field?
I have a report where I number pages based on the Store (muliple stores in report but page numbering resets when Store changes) I do this by manipulating the page number field on the report by code in the report sections to reset it and to increment it.
Code:
Private Sub GroupHeader0_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) Me!PageNum = 0 End Sub Private Sub PageFooter_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) Me!PageNum = Me!PageNum + 1 End Sub Private Sub ReportHeader_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) Me!PageNum = 0 End Sub
The report has a Page Header with various fields and labels and that's been fine however I've had a request to hide a field on subsequent pages (i.e. print it on the 1st page of each store then hide it).
So I added the following code to various sections, but can't get it to work correctly. The fields (label and text box) appear on Page 1 for the first store then get hidden but never return even though when I step through the code it is functioning 'correctly'. The GroupHeader code is performed but the fields don't get displayed on the report. I think is isn't re-painting that section but adding code to the Paint event does nothing, and in fact doesn't actually get run, so not sure when that event is triggered.
Code:
Private Sub GroupHeader0_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) Me!PageNum = 0 lblMemberNo.Visible = True MemberNo.Visible = True
My report is grouped by a Billing Group #...within each billing group there are sub invoice numbers that are tied to the main billing group # (they all have the same billing group # but different general invoice numbers). I need to pull data if one of the general invoice # invoice dates is greater than or equal to a specific date entered.
In other words: If a Billing Group # and one of the Invoice Dates is greater than or equal to a specific date entered then pull ALL GROUP data to report.
I have created a form with an option group with 4 options (date, line, description and observation). Each of these options are to be a sort order for a report that will open after the user selects an option and clicks a button. I am trying to code the button using a select case so that case 1 opens the report sorted by date, case 2 by line, etc. how to write the code for the sorting.
I have seen large projects in which there are clearly several printed database reports printed out to make one booklet.
1. How does one get page numbers for multiple reports to go in sequence instead of starting over again at 1 for each report.
2. How can you add a page reference in one report to something in another report?
Do you have to do these things by hand or is there a way to create a something with auto numbering capabilities? Do you do it by importing the reports to MS Word and creating a master document?
I would like to change the text formatting (color, italics, bold etc) of the contents of a control based on a boolean value in the underlying datasource of the report.
For instance, I have a report that generates a "Proforma Invoice" i would like to ability italicize the prices of certain items based based on a boolean value (EstimatedPrice) in the underlying datasource.
I have a report which includes several subreports. There will be times when a subreport prints partially on one page and completes on the next. I don't always want to break to a new page with this subreport. However, I would want to break to a new page if the subreport cannot fully print on the current page.
If I have a report and it has controls (labels representing column titles) in the page header. Now when I print the report - if it happens that the last page has no detail records - but there is text boxes and so forth in the report footer. Is there a way to not display the page header on the last page?
I have a report where the last page shows the page header - and the field/column labels on the page header - but for which there is no detail records left to display - on the last page. There is report footer information that should display. It just looks weird because the field/column labels show at the top of the page - but there is no data remaining to print under them on that last page.
I've used the following code on the footer on print procedure:
Private Sub PageFooterSection_Print(Cancel As Integer, PrintCount As Integer) Me.PageFooterSection.Visible = (Me.[Page] = 1) End Sub
This works fine when you view it in print preview, but the footer don't show up at all when you actually print it.The reports default view itself is set print preview.
Help - I have created a control button in a form using the wizard and in design view it is at the top underneath all the headings (in the form header) but when I go to normal view it is not there. I have checked the properties and it is down as visible yes display always and transparent no. I am now stumped as to why it's not there - any help appreciated!! :)
I was able to use coding for making controls visible or not in the attached database.
I have a main form with a tab control that has 3 tabs with subforms in them.
What I am not able to do is in the Tab Control I want the 3rd tab to be invisible and on the second tab where it says “May we go through the questions now?”, I have a check box. When that check box is checked I want the 3rd tab to become visible.
I am having problems figuring out this code to reference the Tab Control Page.
I've searched this forum and have been reading for over 2 hours now and still can't find an answer to this (although I have learned a bunch of other stuff :) ). So I appoligize if this have been answered before...
When I open my form my tab control is off screen (above the current view). I can use the slider on the left to move back up to the top of the form and see them... but why can't I make this happen automatically. This happens because one of my tabs is quite long (has several sub-forms on it). I even tried putting an empty label box above the tab control but it doesn't seem to help. I've turned off the Auto-Center and the Auto-Resize for the form. I can't find anything that helps.
How do I get VBA to say: Go to the first control in the tab index after the current active control (that is visible atm), except such and such controls (because they will lose visibility in a moment).
I have a report with field "Plot" as Group Header. I need to print the report which lists the owners of each Plot. When the number of owners is large, it takes more than one page for the listing. How can I force a new page for each new Plot ?
