I am facing an issue The Custom Macro Stopped report from rendering. I have report which is having two sub reports inside. The report is opening in the report view properly but when the ExportWithFormating macro runs, it throws this error.
View RepliesUpon opening a report (it does this randomly), the report opens and it is completelty blank - no lines, lables, or fields - nothing. However, when I click on an area, the group I clicked on will render and display perfectly. So when this happens, I either have to click every where on the page or scrolling up and down (if the report is long enough) will render the whole report. It doesn't do this everytime; about 25% of the time though.
As you can imagine, when other people use the database and this happens, they freak and just think access is broken. What is causing this or what can be done to prevent this from happening?
I'm using access 2007.
I current have three different reports that are the same except for the footers. That means that each time I have a change to the report, I have to remember to make the change on all three copies. Is there a way to add (1) some custom text such as "Client Copy", "Please Sign and Return", "Our Copy" plus one or two data fields from the report query in the page footer (the data fields would be different for each copy)?Basically, what I would like to do is have just one report, but print three copies of it, with each of the three copies having different footers as described above. Is this possible?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am using the built in Access macro editor to run a number of reports which are called for arguments sake ClientPartA, ClientPartB etc..My macro so far simply opens on a button click each of these reports and populates a number of text fields (all this is working fine)
Where my problem lies is I then want to export each of these reports to a central network location "L:Operations DatabaseProjects1042Outputfile. I have been using the command 'ExportWithFormatting' and have filled out the macro element with;
Object Type: Report
Object Name ClientPartA
Output Format: PDF Format (*.Pdf)

Now all my data is pulling from a form called 'Client' and the field 'RecipientsAccountNumber'..I thought I would be able to export the file(s) as PDF with the output file being written as;
Output File: L:Operations DatabaseProjects1042Outputfile Forms![Client]![RecipientsAccountNumber] & " - ClientPartA"
saving the form to the named directory as '300300300 - ClientPartA'..What in reality is happening is it's saving the file to the named directory not as a PDF and with the file name of 'Forms![Client]![RecipientsAccountNumber]
I was wondering is this was possible in access. I've read material on grouping and sorting, but haven't been able to pin down what I need.
I have a combobox field that has 14 entries, beginning with 01 as the first two characters. What I'd like to do is change the order in which everything is displayed on the report.
For instance, show 07 at the top, then 09-13 below that, and so on...
can't find how to add today's date to a report formatted as "August 30, 2014." I can't understand why that's not one of the options when inserting a date.

The VBA code is

This error occurs at the OutputTo line. This code is part of an user form with a button “save as PDF”.
When this code is run, the report is visible as an example (as meant to be) on the screen. The code stops at the OutputTo line.
When I use
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, StrReport, acFormatPDF, StrDocumentName,, False
the problem still exists.
I tried to save the report manually by Preview > Export > PDF. The preview is OK, saving as PDF results in the same error 2501. This may lead to the conclusion that this problem is not caused by the VBA code.
I verified whether user write rights are OK, and whether a default printer is available. Both are OK. The report consists of 1 page.
When this very same application is used with Access 2010, everything functions as expected.
It is my understanding that a custom macro was built to pull text data from a file and import it into Access in the appropriate fields. This macro no longer works and will return the following error message:
"License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in design mode."
It only gives an option to click OK. When you do it shows a box called "Action Failed" that lists the macro name, condition, action name, and arguments with three button to click on the right of the box: "Step" "Halt" and "Continue". It appears that only the "Halt" button is available to be clicked.
Does this sound like an issue with the Access license or whatever license the macro might have? We're trying to decide if it's possible to restore the functionality of the macro.
I am editing a database that provides the option of creating custom reports, where the user can input a date range of their choice and receive aggregate data for that time frame. Although all of the numbers in the report are correct, I am having trouble with a chart that I inserted into the report.
Specifically, if the date range requested spans 2 calendar years (i.e. April 2014 through January 2015), the data for January 2015 appears at the beginning of the year (so the chart x-axis is for Jan through Dec, and the Jan 2015 data is showing up in Jan (as if it was 2014, not the end of the given range in 2015). When I try with smaller time frames within a calendar year, it adjusts just fine (i.e. shrinking the window so just March-May is displayed on the graph).
How to adjust the axis so that it properly records the data range- so that it would start the axis with April and end in January, for example?

I'm creating an accounts package..I've used access chart wizard to create a chart that shows total gross income per month.This displays correctly but the months start at January and end in December. I have devolved two reports which receive their data from the same query. I could not fit everything in one report as I am limited by Access 22 inch limitation. I would like to enable a user to run the reports off a Macro. The report/query requires the user to enter a Parameter Value such as date and facility number. When running the Macro it requires the user to input the same Parameter Values twice, once for each report. What I would like the Macro to do is only request the Parameter Values once. Is there a simple way to achieve this? Thanks for any assistance.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wrote a custom ActiveX Control in C#.NET using a guide (Google ".net activex control step by step", first link on CodeProject). The control is compiled as a .dll and registered in Access 2007.
When I place the ActiveX control on a Form or Report, I can call its methods from VBA and see its output just fine.
When I open a Print Preview, only the top left corner of the control is shown, the rest is a blank white box. This does not happen with built-in ActiveX Controls (e.g. Calendar control), which print as they should.
I also tried a basic ActiveX Control build using VC++ (the sample control created by the MFC wizard), and that displays and prints correctly.
Is there a way to print a report from a form by using VBA or a macro? If so how can this be done?

For example:
There are 3 reports with a bunch of different dates in the bill date column.
Reports A and B include the date 04/30/2012, along with a bunch of other dates.
Report C does not include the date 04/30/2012.
i want reports A and B to open since they include the date 04/30/2012, and I want all of the other records with other dates to show up on the reports along with records with a date of 04/30/2012. I do not want Report C to open at all.
I have a report that is based on a query. The query has filters in it based on user info entered from a form. So the form asks the user to select which division of the company, and the date range for when the info applied to. My issue is that I am trying to set a macro that opens this form whenever some tries to open the report.
But the macro appears to run the query before it opens the form and it gives me a generic message box asking for the division. After I type that in (instead of selecting from a drop down list like I have on my form) another window pops up asking for start date, etc...instead of opening the form I created. What am i doing wrong and how do I get the macro to open my form? If I open the form directly and enter the criteria, it runs the report correctly.
I am using MS Access 2003.
